Alright! I have settled on a name, meet Boreas Summers ^-^
He might give you a cold shoulder >_>

I changed a few things around, magic now comes easy to him and is very apparent, but occasionally uncontrolled and always an affront to the natural order.
I do have 1 Talent unspent as I mull over where to place it, and I changed my 2 background skills to K: Nobility and Lore: Weather (again, I dont want a profession skill), if this is alright.
Otherwise I think he is done and ready for a final lookthrough!
Now I will check out the discussion thread XD
Edit: Languages. Oh ya, is there a local language for this? Something like Talingardean or something the nobles would use? I have dwarven but would like to change it for that if there is.

I cannot get the background to work out in my head or in the text. I painfully withdraw as I always wanted to get into a WotW game :(

@Gobo: Yup. You have to spend one talent to unlock a sphere (unless you get it as a bonus - and EVERY spherecasting class gets two bonus talents the first time they take a level in a casting class, just to get you started), and after that you can spend more talents to unlock them. It's very easy once you get the hang of it.

@Sholano: The 2 BG skills is in place of that recommended houserule. You'll notice I'm not using the Focus/Foible method of character creation either. :-)

Gobo: That section of the Wiki is actually a list of homebrew feats the Wiki creator's made. There are no [Supernatural] or [Mana] feats in the system. Sphere Focus is exactly like the Spell Focus feat. To answer your other question, there's no special languages. Talireans speak Common (or Taldane, if you prefer). There is a people called the Yutak with their own language. They're basically Eskimos who live on the North of the island. They don't involve themselves with the civilized peoples and are rarely seen.

@Gilthanis: Sorry to see you go.

Rebuild complete

Ohhhhh. I see :)
So then I could take Sphere Focus for +1 DC to a sphere? (Either nature or weather)
Is there also a version of Sphere Specialization that I could apply to a Weather ability?

I think I will stick with Dwarf as my third language.

As much as I'd love to play a super villain I will have to retire my hat from this one. I'm sorry but I'll be keeping an eye on you guys, so I make sure you do Asmodeus work!

Hope you have great times!

@EmissaryOfTheNorth: Sorry to see you go.

@Gobo: There's no general equivalent to Spell Specialization as certain spheres quickly become overpowered when you start stacking CL boosts. Conjuration in particular. After some thought, I'll allow you to take Sphere Specialization for cold manipulation from the Weather sphere, though.

UPDATE
Just as a reminder, the following people still need to submit a finished character:

Zogg Run-catcher
GM Aest
The Pale King
Spazmodeus
Ambriss Hastings

Once you've been approved, go ahead and post once in the Discussion thread as mentioned in my last update. Recruitment will be open until end of day on Wednesday.

Taking the liberty of reposting your list from the last page, not checking for completeness...I also did not check everybody in-depth, so the below list only represents my gut feeling of where people belong. If you feel you belong somewhere else, I'm sorry, but it's just to present a general idea of what may still be needed(also, it's very generally seen. my own Robin will also excel in a few utility skills, but that'll not be enough to make her partially "skilled"):

Caster:
Zyxtivia Darkshadow – Elf Witch (bouda)
Ardra Pain de Veau – Tiefling Alchemist (preservationist)
Hectate Reeve – Human Incanter
Marvin Fenster – Human Shifter (possibly Hybrid martial?)
Robin Weaver – Tiefling Oracle (deaf, flame)
Saranda Damusil – Changeling Sorcerer (infernal)
Boreas Summers – Human Incanter
Godfrey Leitner – Human Hedgewitch
Celestine – Human Incanter

Hybrids:
Martial/Caster - Zelimir Seric – Human Antipaladin
Skilled/Caster - Cole, Warpriest of Asmodeus – Tiefling Inquisitor (sanctified slayer/infiltrator)

Skilled:
Sholano Gale – Half-Elf uRogue (charlatan)

Martial:
Linus Traian - Kitsune Swashbuckler (inspired blade)
Ekkehardt - Skinwalker Fighter (lore warden)
Erick the Strangler – Human Brawler (strangler)

Due to SoP being allowed(including classes), it seems we have a lot of partial or full caster types. There are only a few Martials to pick from, and yet fewer skilled.(especially IF GM does not want an all-caster party). So if any of the remaining 5 are still thinking about concepts, that may be a direction to consider.

On another note, I had typed out my proper backstory, tabbing out to look things up(e.g. what I wrote earlier)...then closed the wrong tab. I am slightly frustrated but will of course re-type stuff tomorrow.

While it's true I'm technically a caster, I'll primarily be filling a melee combatant role through varying levels of transformation into a dragon.

Other than transformations, casting will be fairly limited.

I guessed so from "Shifter" and wrote it in brackets, before you posted. As said, it's just to give a general idea.

Basic result is: almost everybody in here is at least a partial caster. GM may be happy about having a full party of casting villains, or they may not(e.g. even if you only use magic for transformations, how do those work in an antimagic field?...if we all rely on magic in some way, that may work against us....). I don't know GM's plan. I just tried to point out a niche that is less populated. It gives the GM more options to pick out a party from, which can only benefit those of us who are choosen.
(e.g. it seems we are lacking a non-magical ranged combatant...if someone always wanted to go with a Lawful Evil Zen Archer, now's the chance(and sorry for not noticing if one of those listed IS a non-magical ranged char...))

That was the basic idea. Also, I'm sorry, but I won't edit above, because if I now move you after explaining, then others will expect to be "placed correctly" as well - I hope you understand ;)

I'm going to drop. The concept is there, it's just not coalescing into any class I really think fits it. Thanks for the opportunity.

@GM Aest: Sorry to lose you. Best of luck to you.
---------------------------------
Thanks for the list, Mordred. It's very close to my own. :-) For the record, I generally consider mid-casters like the Alchemist and Magus to be some of the most balanced classes, so nobody needs to worry if their concept is best built as some sort of magic-user.

Also, I'm not super concerned about a balanced party for this AP. While I'll be looking for people with good synergy, I'm not deliberately looking for the standard Melee/Arcane/Skills/Healer composition. If that means we end up with all Wizards or something, it just means the party will have to approach challenges differently. This campaign rewards creativity, planning, and deliberation. :-)

But. But I'm the parties Raging Melee Brute, can't you tell??!? (Proceeds to fume at Mordredo) Kidding XD

And I know the feeling, sometimes I have so many tabs open at the same time that I accidentally click that X instead of that 2cm space beside it and lose everything :(

So Cold Weather Specialization that only works for the cold aspect of Control Weather? Cool :) (bad pun...) I will probably take that at lvl 2 or 3 even though it's effect will be very minimal until level 5 or so.

God, I hate that. My condolences. Also, super helpful list - thanks!

@YBD my plans call for leveling up as a Bloodrager with the Infernal bloodline.

This is a reflavoring of the class as divine wrath, if selected, will that be aceptable?

Ekk's goal to become an Antpalidan are longer term, a goal to achieve after a righteous struggle, tests and trails to prove his worthiness.

I see his role, currently, as a soldier. Content to follow a worthy commander, but willing to lead as well.

Emphasis on "worthy".

@Mordred: If you use Firefox, you should download the Lazarus add-on. It's saved my butt more times then I can count.

@Ekkehardt: I'm okay with that reflavor. Bloodrage = divine wrath, and bloodline abilities = the blessing of Asmodeus. :-)

I will get Zogg updated tonight. Thought I could get to it this weekend but life happened.

I'll look into it...I used something similar at work a while ago, but it did not "trigger" when closing tabs...only if other problems occured.

GM:
More importantly:
I introduced a "drug" in trait/RP sample/background, and was wondering if you want to decide on the specifics of it?
The basic idea is that it seems almost impossible to restrain certain SoP casters. For flavor reasons(wanting to call the fire in my mind) I have none of the casting drawbacks that could be used against me(e.g. binding, gagging, taking away components, spell books, patron familiars or focus...). On quickly looking things over, I also have not found something about a minimum casting attribute to manifest powers. So the original plan of being subdued by a poison that damages the casting attribute was also out of the question.

That leaves me with a conundrum: Robin is basically "permanently" armed. They can blindfold her while tied up and she could still call fire, quite reasonable even burning away her own bindings or blindfold(with racial fire resistance a small fire can't ever hurt her). How would people DEAL with this? How could someone like her be restrained?

Considering the options, I decided to go with a drug. Something addictive that instead of doing attribute damage, would "damage" caster level, draining away magical power. The "positive" effect would be something akin to "calm emotions/minor suggestion: consume another does" for a time after ingestion, giving a stacking +1 on DC to resist the suggestion per dose consumed in the last month.
On withdrawal, regular addiction handling begins.

So effectively, caster level could be lowered to 0, with the caster willingly consuming more of the substance regulary, and suffering from withdrawal if they fail to do so...

In her backstory, Robin would have faced this substance already, having been subdued by her stepfather, and managed to overcome it by trickery(having saved against the suggestion once, then not consuming any more for long enough to regain her Caster Level), and learning to call her fire within her to destroy the drug's active agent before it's spreading in her.

Basically I was looking for a way to "restrain" casters that have no other ways to restrain them. If you do not want to make use of that, it can simply have been a concoction her stepfather cooked up(who was dabbling in alchemy and poisons), but it could be hard to reason why this dangerous individual is not killed on the spot, despite the danger she obviously poses...(unless kept unconscious until she arrives at the prison...in which case they don't know the extent of her abilities...)

Sorry for the wall of text but I hoped my thoughts on the matter would possibly be interesting to you as well. ;)

Mordred:
No drug is necessary unless you really want it. Restraining a spherecaster is difficult, but there is one hard shutdown: grappling. Brandescar's well-equipped to deal with you. ;-)

GM:
Sure enough. In that case, it will have been a concoction of her stepfather who used it and it's not in widespread use.

@Grappling: Is it? Does it interact differently with Spherecasting? I was under the impression that Grappling(and Pinned) still allowed for spellcasting(without somatics) and only required a concentration check(MSB) to get the spell through? That would be a roll of D20+6 vs DC of 11+CMB of grappler. So with a Level 5 full BaB Guard with 16 strenght, that would be a DC of 19..., and a roll of 13+ would still get through, or more than every third attempt. I understand they can probably choke me out before I can do serious damage, but it does not seem reliable enough to bet one's life on it ;)

Ah well, I'll see what Brandescar prison has in store for me, hopefully ^_^

Do they got the guards from The Longest Yard in there?

Mordred:
Your assessment is correct, although there are ways to boost the concentration DC. Damage, for example. ;-) The NPCs are intelligent, and while they may not be used to dealing with a spherecaster, they'll figure something out.

Updated. How does it look?

Zoog:
Your stats are off. You start with an 18 that you don't touch. Then you get an 8 that you can't buy down farther. Then you get 15pts to place as desired as long as one stat ends up below 10 after racial modifiers. A simple fix for your statline would be STR 12 DEX 22 CON 13 INT 11 WIS 16 CHA 6. You also start with no gear and no gold.

Once you get that taken care of, go ahead and post in Discussion. Make sure to include what happened to your animal companion. :-)

UPDATE
Recruitment closes in approximately 24hrs. For anyone who hasn't already done so, finish up your character and post once in Discussion. I'll be making selections around this time tomorrow.

Ok, all done, Backstory retyped, will not have time to go over it tomorrow before end of recruitment, but if picked, will possibly refine it a bit more.

Dark Archive

*Crosses fingers. As much as shackles will allow of course. *

Updated.

Sorry for the delay! I'll put in a sample post for the discussion in the morning.

Let me know if there is anything that needs changing in my current build. The plan is to later go Eldritch Heritage to get the Serpentine Bloodline's poisoned bite attack, and use my spells to focus on undead animation, juju zombies, and compulsion effects.

Did one last and quick look through.
I think I am about as good as I am going to get :)
Really hoping I get into this, I think my only other game is officially over (1 post from the GM in the last month) :(
Good luck guys ^-^

UPDATE
Final submission deadline is in approximately 13hrs. There are still a couple people who need to finish up their characters. If you've posted character crunch since my last update, go ahead and post in Discussion as well. I'll do an in-depth audit if you're accepted.

UPDATE
Three hours to go until recruitment closes. I'm just waiting to see if there's any last-minute submissions. :-)

UPDATE
After much deliberation, I have decided on the following characters:

Celestine
Erick the Strangler
Linus Traian
Marvin Fenster
Sholano Gale
Zyxtyvia Darkshadow

This was a very difficult decision, and while I'd love to have included everyone, a sixteen person party would just be ridiculous. Thanks to everyone who expressed interest, and I wish you the best of luck in your endeavors. Recruitment is now closed.

Ardra, Boreas, Ekkehardt, Hectate, Robin, and Saranda:
You are my first alternates in the event of a player dropping out. In addition, I'm considering running a second instance of this campaign. Give me two weeks to see if my gaming schedule will permit this. If you don't want to wait (I know there's another WotW recruitment up right now), let me know; otherwise, I'll message you around Feb 10 to give you a definite Yes or No.

Hurrah! I'll get to making an alias in a moment, then. XD I've heard quite a lot about this campaign, and it should be fun to see how it goes!

"სულელი! ერთხელ მე განადგურება წმინდა ხალხური მე ფოკუსირებული იქნება თქვენ ..."

GM:

fool! once I destroy the Mitrans I will destroy you...

many thanks GM

Sigh, always a bridesmaid, never the bride.

Oh well, thanks a bunch for the opportunity, and have fun everyone who made it. I look forward to hearing if a space or second table opens up.

Same here Ardra, thanks GM for the oppotunity.

Good luck to those selected! Go be evil.

@YBD: I'm definitely interested, if your schedule permits it. Thanks.

Sholano smiles a subtle smile, his eyes glittering with malicious glee. "Naturally."

Let's rock.

Congratulations, have fun, everybody. A pity, really looked forward to this, so you all better really rock or i'll come and burn you in your sleep!

Pity here as well. Good luck guys :)

GM:

If you do decide to run a second game in a while I would be all up for it. I am currently in zero games and I anticipate it will be a while longer before I can get into one :(
So if/when you decide, let me know! Same if someone drops.
Either way, good luck and I'm jelly :)
