I am alive but entering what is likely the busiest month of the year in the lead-up to the big two conventions (Paizo Con and Gen Con). I'll catch up and post tonight, as my intention is certainly not to fall off the map.

Hi guys, sorry about my lack of posting for the past few days. I got hit pretty bad with a combo of the flu and tonsilitis, so I've pretty much been doing nothing but sleeping and catching up on work. I'll get caught up on the game thread soon.

Yeah, I figured that we would just advance the actions to the next round. :P (Since mine was a relatively good roll.)

I've sent a couple of PM's to our quieter fellows to make sure they are still with us.

I have very limited internet connection for the time being, but I am still watching the game closely when I can. Turns out the cable in our neighborhood was ruptured by something. That was finally fixed on Saturday, but at the house where I live, the cable is still damaged and it will be a few more days before they can fix the cables there.

OK, you can skulk in the shadows and snuggle up to Gordie until you are properly back online :)

Well we have been hiding in the dark, nothing saying those two couldn't have snuck further back to 'snuggle'. It's probably helpful to the party too, since I'm not sure Gordie would approve of our methods and we can always "Oh woe is me, we tried to save them etc." just before we off him.

That reminds me of the part on season four of Angel, where Angelus finds Lilah's body and then the others find him. I always liked the way he's fighting off laughter when he says "Guys, it's not what it looks like!"

That's one of the issues with 'Evil' campaigns... it's up to the players to make the running. In a conventional 'Good' campaign, the DM does the evil stuff and the players get to react to it.

I apologize for my abrupt departure earlier, and if you still want me in the group, I'll gladly continue. I had to quit roleplaying cold turkey for a time, while I figured things out in my life and dealt with some other issues, and rather than attempt to explain it to everyone and say goodbye, my therapist thought it would just be better to simply drop everything overnight. He said you would probably understand if and when I got to a place where I could reemerge.

But of course, dear heart. You are always welcome here.

As for being the caster of the group... Well, sorcerers are like multifunction pocketknives, wizards and prepers are like toolboxes.

I'm just waiting on the response to my question re: following Urgathoa yet signing myself to Asmodeus.

If you notice the terms, you aren't signing your soul to Asmodeus, you're just serving him for a time period, i.e. the rest of your life. It doesn't say anything about eternity or immortal soul. If your soul is already bound to Urgathoa, you can probably bind the rest of your life to Asmodeus.

"By blood and soul the Bound commit to the Compact..." makes me think otherwise. Along with the "patron and god" portion.

I might have to handwave into following Asmodeus instead of Urgathoa or something.

Well it might be possible that your soul is forfeit if you are in breach of the contract. That's how I (as a player, not as the character) read that.

Hah! You would dare to breach a contract with Asmodeus? I pity your souls if you do.
