"Sha-uhm, no can't say that rings a bell. I know of the great DAHAK though! He is our dragon overlord, created by the prime dragons Apsu and Tiamat, known as The Endless Destruction, Sorrowmaker, and worthy of all respect of any dragons anywhere! Nyip nyip nyyipp!"

Skyrahk stands proudly proclaiming her deity's awesomeness.

"You? Not familiar."

Skyrahk is expecting the wyrm to respond with admiration and respect at the name of Dahak. Probably not gonna happen.

Diplomacy: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 26

Prepare to run guys!

"Insolent worms! Shadrixis will be the name you hear!"

Shadrixis takes to the sky and starts flying around the platform.

It's an Umbral Wyrmling.

Any specifics you want to know about?

I'm waiting for a bit to see if anyone else wants to do something, like make ranged attacks while it has relatively little cover, or cast something clever. But I do have plans before the dragon's turn comes round again.

Sovereign Court

Afternoon of work and suddenly we've skipped the talking stage... Quite the annoyance... But okay, let's get this over with then.

In order of importance:
- Special offensive abilities
- Special defensive abilities
- Weakest saving throw
- Resistances

Well, it's currently still the talking phase, you just have to talk a bit faster! ;-)

Engashez:

- Breathes negative energy.
- Immune to cold, death effects, negative energy, paralysis and sleep
- Fortitude

Sovereign Court

Engashez cannot fail the Sense Motive check due to Heroism.

Engashez drops to the ground and starts speaking in draconic.

Of course we have heard of the mighty Shadrixis, Conqueror of the Magnificent Spire, Slayer of the Light-Weaver D'ziriak people. My companions are just slow at recognising you, Your True Truebloodness. And Skyrakh here has sniffed too much of the outside air. He's not used to it being clean.

What do you want: Diplomacy or Bluff?

Monkhound wrote:

Whichever you find more appropriate. If you believe yourself it's diplomacy, if you don't it's bluff

Sovereign Court

Engashez believes what she is saying.
Diplomacy, Heroism: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (3) + 12 = 15

Sovereign Court

I think I'll try to reroll that one.

Diplomacy, Heroism & 2 Stars: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (2) + 14 = 16

Ah well...

Quote:
You don't know who I am? Have you not heard of the mighty Shadrixis?!"

Mighty? MIGHTY? i expected a true trueblood to be bigger.

Pethjun lets out with a dissapointed wimper.

When the dragon sneers at us indignantly and starts flying

clenches the rapier in her mouth and draws a spear

OOOOOooooooh, A CHALLANGE IT MAKES TO USSH?! Pethjun will not refuuuusse, no refuuuussse I'lll NEVER!

Readies to throw a javelin at the dragon when it engages in hostile action

CLEAR THE DeCK FOR the a true truebloods breath!

Is the dragon still holding the scale? Does that occupy a claw?

Slow Fang Shui wrote:

Yes, No.

I'll be at work tomorrow during the day so no chance to look in on this then. Hence a rather detailed instruction.

Fazgyn gives Pethjun and Skyrakh a dirty look.
"You just had to didn't you?"

Facing the dragon:
"If you make an example of them, you can count on us as your new minions!"
Bluff: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (12) + 7 = 19

Meanhile I'm readying in the following way:
IF the dragon moves without a 5ft step (i.e. not gonna full attack), to anywhere I can reach him with a 5ft step;
THEN
- I'll 5ft step and attack.
- If possible (lesser priority) my 5ft step will be in a direction that takes me out of a breath weapon cone that would include other allies.
- If possible (least priority)my 5ft step will be northwards so as to make it easier to set up a flank later.

If all of this works out and the dragon moves on after my attack, he'll provoke since even Flyby doesn't protect you from that.

On subsequent rounds, if I need to be ghosted, these are things I'd be inclined to try:
- Try to flank/sneak attack.
- If enemy AC seems doable, go 2WF. Otherwise, stick to one-handed for greater accuracy.
- If the dragon refuses to close into melee, use the pillar to play peekaboo. Hide behind it, stealth, then sneak attack with the bow when it gets within 30ft. Circling around the pillar as needed to maintain cover, because having cover suffices to stealth.

Slow Fang Shui wrote:

There is no pillar, there is a black ball of blackness floating 5 foot in the air. (See right side for a sideview of the tower)

The dragon pierces it's gaze to Athrax and Varanog respectively.

"Any you two, do you pledge allegiance or will you die together with the black and the white one?"

Yes, No.

Ah, it's on the next page: Yes, yes.

Oh right. Good point. Anything I or perhaps the more castery guys can make of that?

Knowledge arcana DC29:
Looks like an unstable portal to the negative energy plane

Sovereign Court

More and more the high DC trained-only checks are making this character feel like the kid in the back of the class who's sticking pencils up his nose. Or given his personality, rigging crossbows to stick pencils up other people's noses. :P

Sovereign Court

Kn. Arcana, Heroism: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (18) + 12 = 30

Does it look like it could be broken if someone accidentally applied violence? And could it be repaired/stabilized? What purpose would this thing serve for the current occupant of the Spire? Want this one of those illegal things?

No, No, Source of Negative Energy,Yes

Skyrahk's eyes turn to slids.

"Master? Why... Nyip! That's it! Pethjun..."

Skyrahk's hands glow as she casts a spell and touches Pethjun with it.

If I can't do that right now, I'll do it when I can.

"Nyip him!"

Skyrahk casts Bull's Strength on Pethjun

Sovereign Court

Pointing at the portal and standing up:

Surely the Mighty Shadrixis is aware that such portals have been prohibited by decree of his True Truebloodedness' broodmother (or father? I didn't get that)? How is it you disobey this command?

I kind of feel I should fall on the floor right now and do what ever the dragon wants being a Kobold and all that..but we did know we were going to have to fight a dragon..and we all ready threw a javelin at it...so..

Vanarog moves to the side to avoid having everyone get caught inside a breath weapon attack

"Gives us the scale and close the portalss and we'll go away"

As Skyrahk touches pethjun with the spell

I feel the strength... FLOW THROUGH ME! Njah njah njah njah!
BRING IT ON DISOBEDIENT TRUE TRUE BLOOD!

I gain +1 to hit and damage...

GM dice:
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (15) + 12 = 27

Insolence! I will teach you manners! Bathe in my glorious breath

Flies around the tower to a position he can breathe negative energy: 2d6 ⇒ (1, 1) = 2

Fortitude DC14 for half
Pethjun: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 2 = 18
Athrax: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 2 = 21
Skyrakh: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (17) + 1 = 18
Engashez: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 14
Fazgyn: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3

Pethjun? You want your ready to go off? It will provoke...

Sovereign Court

Engashez thinks it's time to move out of breath attack formation by now, but I have no map access.

Initiative:

All of you
Him

Sovereign Court

Engashez casts Glitterdust (DC15). She should be able to place it so that no party members are targeted.
She then moves 2 squares diagonally to the left, then 3 squares up.

You are a disgrace to True Truebloods. You are not worthy! Your breath is weak!"

GM dice:
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (12) + 7 = 19

Skyrakh
Fazgyn
Vanarog
Shadrixis
Engashez

Monkhound wrote:

Oops, I just noticed a minor mistake (in your favor), I won't do it again (though)...

Sovereign Court

Was it that the Dragon was threatening Engashez? It's difficult to point out in the map. Otherwise I would've moved first (provoke) and cast then.

Grand Lodge

Mogmurch - Male goblin 1 hp 7/7 AC 14, touch 13, ff13 Fort +1, Ref +2, Will + 1Init +2; Perception +3

Vanarog moves a bit closer and gathers a lot of power, sparks start to surround one of his hands

"Surrender now or fear the Might of the Master of Magics!"

Vanarog then releases the most powerful spell he has access to.

(Casting Scorching ray)

To hit touch AC Dragon: 1d20 + 5 - 4 ⇒ (12) + 5 - 4 = 13 (firing into melee)
Fire damage if hit: 4d6 ⇒ (2, 1, 6, 4) = 13

Monkhound wrote:

No, I used the wrong dice for the breath attack

Preg wrote:

Vanarog manages to hit the dragon

"Inferior spawn! That actually hurt! You will pay for that!"

I don't think we have to grovel, Dahak's faith specifically states he is hated by most other dragons. :) It's fiinnneee

"Ouch, ouch!... Hmm, your breath is indeed not that strong! Ha! Dahak protects us!"

Skyrahk moves a bit while taking out a scroll and casts it, mumbling to her god Dahak.

Skyrahk casts spiritual weapon from a scroll

A fancy looking spiritual whip with several ends and spikey bits jumps into being in the square of the umbral dragon. It immediately starts flailing away.

Spiritual weapon: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18
Damage: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9

If you need it the SR roll:SR: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9

Skyrahk a.k.a. Maglok wrote:

A bit being 5 foot, as taking out a scroll is a move action by itself

Skyrahk a.k.a. Maglok wrote:

It flails past the dragon

I Cannot take a scroll out while moving? Dammit, this playing while in work mode at work is tricky :)

i WOULD HAVE THROWN THE SPEAR IS HE MOVED INTO POSITION (since he declared his intention to attack us), but ok...

i poke with spear and with tail.

spear, power att,: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (18) + 8 = 26
damage spear: 1d6 + 9 ⇒ (3) + 9 = 12
tail, power att: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
damage tail: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9

TAKE THAT WHELPY TRUE TRUEBLOOD

If you accept my throw as he moved into position, i just draw my rapier and poke him once

rapier, power att: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (6) + 9 = 15
damage: 1d4 + 11 ⇒ (3) + 11 = 14

I'll accept your throw (although the intention was mainly fluff).

Pethjun throws his spear which hits, then draws his rapier and misses.

* I would also 5 foot step back. We need the dragon not to fall down below when we slay it

"Athrax! Bomb it!"

Don't expect Willeke to have time today :) PS I am running Serpent's Skull tonight so can't check then.

Ghosting Athrax

Atrax throws a bomb at the dragon!

To Hit: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (4) + 8 = 12 Misses!

Scatter, 1=Topleft: 1d8 ⇒ 7 Fall down the tower harmlessly (maybe hits an innocent bystander)
