He struggles for a moment, having to drag a bucket, but then finds his rhythm.
Once out of earshot, he confesses to the others, "If I was they, I'd be inclined to leave us behind. Marooned on a reef be a much cleaner way than a straight fight. I don't know if they be that smart, but they picked us out quite particular fer this little job..."

Grizzle. |
Grizzle queasy, grabs an empty barrel and, sitting on it, pushes himself off the side, clinging to it like a rope over an abyss. He gingerly kicks out, making for the reef.
What rolls should be made for this, if possible and if they are any different? Grizzle would probably rather face the punishment than go out with anything.
If the Same: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16
wicked_raygun |
Let's say STR (vehicles water). However since a barrel isn't a boat, we'll roll that with Disadvantage. 16 was your first roll, so...
Grizzle STR (vehicles water): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6
Grizzle struggles to make his way to the reef.
You can spend an inspiration point to just succeed, or try again with disadvantage on the roll.
Dieredon D'atarisian |
Ok, we are at the reef, now what? Crabbin'?
@Wicked-Raygun: I believe that Dieredon has his armor, two scimitars and two daggers? The only weapon that I have not recovered is my Longbow, to my knowledge.
Mad Jack McGinty |
Can we help Grizzle somehow, if he needs it?

Can we help Grizzle somehow, if he needs it?
With a little forethought, yes, you can. But Grizzle sort of made a point to be the last one in the water.
The press-ganged arrive at the area with the coral reef. It measures approximately 100 yards square, and in places goes from 5 to 30 feet below the surface. This area teems with life.
I'll need a DC 10 WIS (survival) to find a crab, followed by DC 10 STR (athletics) to swim down and catch it. You have 4 crab pots. And you'll need 4 crabs to fill each pot.

Alfonso F. E. J. C. d'Arrabio |

This a reefclaw! A vicious monstrocity that is also a wondrous delicacy. A single one of these would be worth an entire pot of crabs easily! They aren't easy prey though. They have sharp claws and potent poison.
Dieredon gets advantage with the nature check. Treggor is up. Alfonso is at HP 13/15. Dieredon is at HP 16/20. And our ninja is at HP 9/17. All three of them are grappled, and will require DC 11 STR (athletics) or DEX (acrobatics) as an action to get out.
