Golwen decides that the Goblin Dog is a little to close for comfort and panics a little, immediately summoning a Celestial Pony between him and the wretched looking creature. Gerrtoutofhere, beast." He mushes out while backtracking doing his best to hide behind the Pony.

I didn't add in the Smite Damage. I'm running RotRL right now and there are Goblin Dogs in that. One of my players happens to have a Celestial Bear who smites things, they were very surprised when I informed them the Goblin Dog they tried to smite wasn't evil. If these Goblin Dogs happen to be evil than do please add in 2 more damage to those lovely hoovess.

Azul Aros |

GM: Does the terrain we're in allow 5-foot steps? From the map it looks like my goblin went down and if it did and I am allowed I would like to 5" step forward.

Vicon |

The goblins chitter in nervous common:
"Doggies and horsies attack! fall back!!" the chitter is heard from the east.
Andreas slashes his opposing goblin more viciously than the blow he received by far, nearly doubling his foe over as Azul moves into the open space where one of his foes now lay bleeding out.
The pony whinnied and kicked at the goblin dog, but the dog merely snarled and dodged the bucking hooves and prepared to lunge again.
At the same moment, a glittering sheen overtakes maximillian's weapon and the tunnel grows a little brighter.
the dog lunges at the pony, but can't get past the desperate storm of kicks from it's enemy...
Two goblins swing at Andreas with their blades, but he is quick to parry and dodge the pitiful assault...
...the battle would continue, though Ryker could hear that their enemies were just getting more organizes and rallying in the shadows beyond...

Ilamin steps forwards a bit and readies his bow in case another goblin tries to enter the fray while Andreas and Azul handle the two already engaged.
Readied Action: 1d20 + 4 - 1 ⇒ (5) + 4 - 1 = 8

Ryker Grimes |

"If we are going to stick with this, it is time to find their central chamber. The longer we give them to organize, the worse it will go for us," Ryker points out. "Let's push through this Goblin Dog and hit them before they can hit us!"
________
GM, would you let us know when you are ready for our next turn of actions?

Azul Aros |

"Doggies and horsies attack! fall back!!"
Unaware of the animal combat behind him, Azul is puzzled by the goblin comment.
"Doggies and Horsies? I don't understand. Must be some kind of code. Hmmm... Clever!"
He swings again with his falcata.
Aiming for the one that was already wounded by Andreas (black I think).
Falcata: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 19
Damage: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5 ... I'm guessing that will take him down.
Afterwards, Azul shuffles to the west to get behind the other goblin. "It doesn't seem like their defense is very organized," Azul observes.

Ryker Grimes |

Ryker hustles out of the tunnel and dives behind the remaining goblin. Mid dive he drops his bow, produces a dagger, and thrusts it into it's ribcage. "We have an opening on this side, let's push through!"
________

Golwen Unduval |

Golwen pauses just a split-second to ask Sir Andreas about his head but instead refocuses back on the snarling rodent.
"Get it, my noble Pony!"
Golwen flings an orb of Acid at the Goblin Dog.

After flinging the Acid, Golwen will heed Ryker's request and will then hurriedly move to follow the group, following after Max. "More to the rear, I think, more to the rear! Stand true my Little Pony!

The last of the immediate threats, the grievously wounded goblin slides his shortsword beneath the waistcoat of Andreas' armor (inflicting four points of damage!)
After Maximillian's brutal strike on the second dog, aggression to the east seems to fall back, while to the south you can hear bowstrings pulling and goblins chittering to the south.

Ilamin holds his bow for now and nods to the others as they come up to just the lone goblin. He pulls an arrow taunt again and as soon as the final Goblin dies, he'll move forwards towards the front in an attempt to scout.
Stealth: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15

Just an attempt to catch sight of them before they get sight of us.

Ilamin slowly decends a vertical hole upside down to get a peek at the goblins below... it will be particularly difficult to climb back up (DC 20 climb check) but in stealthfully doing so he notes two lines of goblins, one with swords drawn and waiting for trouble, and another line of goblins with bows taut and ready to fire at the first person to drop through that hole...
The front rank of goblins sniff for something strange on Ilamin's approach, but do not detect him!

Azul Aros |

"So... they're ready for us? Want to go around the other way? Or push through here?"
Assuming we want to push ahead...
"Let's see if we can unnerve them a little at least before we go down."
Azul drags the three goblin bodies to the hole, and then dumps them in one by one. Then, in as deep and booming a voice as he can muster, Azul calls down the hole:
"GIVE... ME... MORE... GOBLINS!!! BWA-HA-HA-HAAAA!"

Ryker Grimes |

Let's form up around the hole, won't want to take longer than we have to in getting down there. Even against goblins one of us won't last long against a swarm of them," Ryker points out in a whisper, stowing his knife and drawing his bow again.
________
Did anyone see a post by me made last night? I could have sworn I made one...

![]() |

~laughs so much~ Oh a DC20 Climb check...yea, Ilamin is just gonna finish getting down so he stays somewhat hidden...ain't no need to just fall on my head. That check is roughly impossible for him.
Ilamin relays the information as quietly as he can before he slips down the rest of the way.

Sir Andreas der Eisfalke |
Andreas takes a knee and waits. His breathing is controlled and in time slows to a calm pattern. He ponders what was spoken and shifts his armor a bit so that his wounds can breath. minor injuries will heal soon enough. Now for someone to figure out what they want to do. Think it out...look at the situation.

Golwen Unduval |

Watching the Shabti, Golwen can't help but feel a little unnerved himself, and wonders if everything is okay...
"So... Azul, is that your way of volunteering to lead the charge?"

Azul Aros |

I can go ahead of you guys want. Basically I would go Full Defense to bring my AC to 20 and drop down. The archers in the back will have a hard time hitting since the guys in the front will give me cover, and will also get a -4 for firing into melee once I am engaged. It would be best if I was lowered down on a rope though because if I jump down then I will probably fall prone. Also it would mean that I could move after getting to the bottom and not block the hole for everyone else.
Alternately since they are expecting an assault from here we could go the other way.
BTW the climb check may be DC 20 but you get a big bonus if you can brace yourself against the opposite wall as you climb. Since the holes are goblin-sized I'm guessing that isn't a problem.

Sir Andreas der Eisfalke |
I think you should do what you think your character would do and not so much what you the player thinks we want your character to do.
Seeing the blank look on the faces of the others. Andreas stands up from his rest and steps forward.
We have enemies around us and no time to debate. They are set in defensive posture no matter which direction we go. We back track and try another way it will leave our backsides open. Right now they are waiting for us and that is time we need to use. We go forward and this is what we will do. Golwen if you can send the pony or summon another creature down the hole..it will hopefully draw the attention of the archers. I hope enough that they fire at it. It does no good up here. If not, does anyone have some spells that they can use that creates bright light or loud noise. I want to create as much chaos before I drop down there. I will go first and the rest of you can follow. Good luck and keep yourselves safe. If this plan does not work...you will know not to follow me down the hole and can get away.
He moves to the hole and drops a rope down to help Ilamin to climb back up and out. He waits long enough for the hole to be cleared and the spells cast; if any before he hands the rope off and starts to climb down the rope.
You may want to tie this off
I will slide down the rope and go full defense once I am down there. AC23

Golwen Unduval |

Golwen nods approvingly at the plan. He will consume some of his spell power and put it towards bringing forth more critters and then prepare for action.
"A pony you shall have, Sir Andreas."
Consume Spells for a point to my reservoir.
I'll follow down as close as I need to, so that once Andreas gets down I can drop another horse to help draw fire. Preferably a person or two up though from him.

Vicon |

Sir Andreas drops down the hole to face the goblin formation that stands against him and his party...
"KAAN-IT... NEEGAT!"
A goblin officer cries out and all eight goblins loose their bows at Sir Andreas, His Large Shield, scale mail, and defensive stance a veritable WALL against the storm.
Still, one of the arrows flies low and pierces his leg (for 4 points of damage) but sir Andreas stands resolute in spite of the fusillade against him.
The goblins are more than a bit shocked that Sir Andreas is still standing undeterred and the officer takes to whipping his compatriots to keep them from falling back.
The lead goblin BREAKS his shortbow over his knee, signalling the goblins to drop their bows and charge the enemy!!
(the goblins will all act at initiative 14 -- putting everyone but Ilamin ahead of them...)

Sir Andreas der Eisfalke |
Andreas returns the salute to Max and prepares himself mentally for what is to come. The rope slides through his gauntlet as he reaches the bottom of the tunnel. Quickly taking in the scenario, Andreas puts his shield up to cover his body but his off foot has always been a problem for him. The barrage of arrows that came at him bounce off the walls or the shield. Some even stuck into the shield itself while one arrow came in at an angle to connect with his calf. The arrow stuck out at an odd angle as he stood up. Pain ran up his leg as he placed weight down on it but it was overcome by a rush of adrenaline. Andreas always had a way of putting things in perspective during combat. What was important was the safety of those above him. He needed to created a clear opening for the others to come down. Stepping forward he brings his sword down the front of his shield, shattering those few arrows that stuck into it.
I doubt they will understand me but
He looks at the goblins Surrender and live... he lets his eyes set on the Goblin officer and points his sword at him. if not...you will die.
Seeing the goblins preparing to charge he moves his off foot behind to better protect it. His sword is placed just above his shield and is ready to deflect incoming attacks. He places himself where he can not be flanked and waits. There he stands shield out front, sword at the ready. Blood freely flowing from his left calf and also down his right leg from the waist...wounds from the last battle.
Full defense again

Ryker Grimes |

Hearing the glorious clatter of arrows against metal that isn't attached to his body, Ryker grabs a hold of the rope with one hand and slides right down the hole. He keeps his bow tight against his body to prevent it from snagging on the side.
As he comes flying out of the hole, he fires at one of the goblins in the first line before tucking into a roll and standing next to Andreas. He quickly drops his bow and produces a dagger from his wrist. "Water's warm y'all come on in!" Pharasma knows we will need the numbers!

Assuming that since we beat their initiative that they are flat-footed to us until their turn. I can roll stealth too if that helps. I still have all my daggers, but none are currently in a wrist sheath after this turn. Move ?20ft? down the hole, standard to shoot bow, free to drop bow, swift to draw dagger from spring loaded wrist sheath.

Golwen Unduval |

"Coming."
Golwen sighs inwardly before completing the last leg of the journey down. I really didn't want to be down here... Oh well, here we go.
He then focuses inwards for a second before conjuring another Celestial Pony in front of the Goblins. Here you are, you little nuisances, go nuts.
Magical mist begin to work their way around Golwen. Within the mist, blue energy seems to dance in various undefined shapes as he concentrates, the only sign magic is being done. Then, the visage of several different animals start to take shape, a Dog, a Toad, and then an Eagle, finally from the 'mist' a Pony appears trotting. A smile plants itself on Golwen's face as suddenly the aimless trot seems to become a focused gallop, as the other images seemingly fade. Suddenly, the Celestial Pony, now fully visible, seems to leap into the air, disappearing from the energetic mists and appearing besides the Goblins. Elsewhere, a small popping sound occurs as the previous Pony disperses from existence.

I think you should do what you think your character would do and not so much what you the player thinks we want your character to do.
There's nothing wrong with trying to coordinate a plan with other players.
As soon as there is room underneath, Azul tries to slide down the rope.
Right now it looks like I will land on someone if I fall which would be bad (3d6 damage to whoever I land on). So I would wait until there is no one directly under the hole. I'm not moving my token yet. This means I may have to wait.
If I can't go yet then I will spend a round casting magic weapon on my falcata. Otherwise:
Climb: 1d20 - 3 ⇒ (10) - 3 = 7
If this is a knotted rope then this is a success I think (DC 0). It is probably a double move to get down, so I'm guessing I can't do anything else.
Azul shimmies down and lands in the midst of the others.
