Sure; their are lots of people and creatures here that can and do trade; there is a little bazaar of like minded people down the hill a bit; mostly greeks but also some centaurs and fauns. Dried fish; dried meats; leather, and grass items such as woven rope and baskets are available. There is also a tinker here with brass items; he is repairing some people stuff and has a bunch of junk; he looks a bit fey and he is short and very thin with a very long nose and slightly bluish skin; his pack is twice his size and probably weighs a lot; he is currently fixing some Greek's helmet.

I bow respectfully to the Oracle. "Til the morning." I follow Namaste down hill. When she is ready I will teach her the sign language of the Under Common. Til then I pull out my instument and play again.

He was probably too far away.
As to the game Llvenoc mentioned, as a player I have no idea what that game is, but Namaste may know it, or could probably be taught it.

Valegrim |

You notice that Llevnoc finds a nice place and pulls out a very popular elven board game; seems dark elves and surface elves at least still have that game in common.
Make another spot roll please.
The sounds were not that loud and pretty focused; and there is a lot of other background noise on this hilltop of wind through the trees and people chatter; fires crackling; the sound blended in and was not heard.
As for the game mentioned; it is an elven game of tactics and strategy much like three teir chess, but with many more squares and pieces. All grandmasters of the game are celebrities. You probably played the first teir as a kid; it is the high society game played in full; takes skill and training (ie by the game playing skill) to play second and another skill to play third teir. All great military and powerful mage heroes are masters at the game; Human Asian and Persian cultures play a trimmed down version of second teir they call GHoe!
To play the full game; one must devote a lot of time and study and be an expert at strategy and tactics on multiple levels of offense and defense.
All masters of the game are also very good dancers :)
To know more you would have to make a knowledge roll high society; games or strategy and tactics.

The Spot check may have succeeded, depending on the DC. She's probably concentrating too hard on Llvenoc's explanation of the game, though, to have heard anything.

Zuberi Ra-Amon |

During the few days of travel Zuberi spends his time getting to know everyone. The nights he spends with the Tuetons as they sing to honor their fallen comrades. The battles they have fought were most interesting and he hoped that he can put their experiences to good use if he were every to encounter such foes.
On the last night before their arrival at the Oracle, he managed to arrange a friendly wrestling competition between himself and OGG.
As the campfire roared their shadows danced. Thou Zuberi found himself sprawled upon the ground many times over, he believed the event served its purpose. Thou come the morning any aches and pains might say otherwise but Zuberi knew in his heart that such sport was inspiring and good for morale.
Zuberi had found himself drawn to the bard simply because they both share a common interest in knowledge and information. Knowledge meant power, power with which one could use to defend against the hordes that were threatening and threading across the various regions. Also it was through the bard that Zuberi presented the challenge to OGG. Zuberi had informed the bard to make it crystal clear that it was a friendly match, meaning that he didn’t want to be concerned with OGG attempting to snap his neck or break his back.
Zuberi found himself quite comfortable around Astinos as he represented an ideal that dwelt in him. Zuberi was only an initiate of the Order of Light, But in Astinos, he saw what it meant to be a devote to ones deity. Surely their meeting was no accident as the paladin would serve as the instrument to help Zuberi to truly embraced and entrust in the light within his heart.
Once at the encampment and the details with the guards have been ironed out, Zuberi heads off with Astinos (I’m taking it that Zuberi and Astinos are fairly acquainted with one another by now), mingling about while hoping that either Aeneaus contact would approach them or that they would come across the odd mixed looking group by chance.
“so Astinos, how difficult would you say it would be to find oranges amongst an orchard of apples” Zuberi asks, making a reference to the group they need to find as the pair moves about.

Astinos |

Absently controlling the chariot they ride in, guiding the horses as if by second nature, the young Greek ponders the question for a moment.
"While many are they who seek the oracle, I do believe that this group would be quite notable. We are almost there so we will soon see if this is the case."
The chariot comes around a bend in the road.
"That hill is where the Temple of the Oracle lies. Ahead is the path to the Oracle. I'm sure that with Athena's guidance we will find them sooner rather than later."

Valegrim |

ok; everyone with a spot over 10 notice the lookouts and scouts point to something in the distance; if you have a 15; you notice a small dustplume in the distance; with a 20; you see a group of riders approaching on the road.
listen;
10; you hear the lookouts say "riders approaching"
15 you hear horses
20; you hear horses and chariots

Valegrim |

Astinos; you know beyond a shadow of a doubt; that Apollo jealously guards his Oracle; his being and devine will is suffused with this place; any violence of any kind by anyone will be dealt with by him directly; the sun is up and that is his chariot and he is watching; you may wish to relate this to those with you who do not know this; you know hundreds of stories where people violated this rule and all involved were destroyed; Apollo is a vain diety; He has no tolerance for those who would harm his Oracle; which is his high priestess and can be and has been his Avatar.
Other than that; you guys can arrive at any time; you may also start any discussion thread with; "back on the road" to talk specifically to any Tueton or the bard or each other; so I will know that conversation took place in the past.
Ogg understand the game and enjoys the repast; he is very gentle.
The bard plays a song, almost a march in the beginning; and a dirge at the end; tells the tale of Lord Halgar Sturmhaver; lord of the Tuetons; who battled and killed; Turm Tom Burnbasher; king of the fire giants in a glorius battle of skill and power; sadly; he was assassinated minutes after his glorius battle the the dread horsemen assassin Ronin; who killed some number of Tueton Knights with his dread sword Deathkiss and killed Lord Halgar in a most vile and unchivalrous way, unmanned him and destroyed his soul. Everyone is speachless after the song; mad; tears; angry; the quitely go to bed in hushed tones; the bard can be heard to mumble to Ogg; "they have to know the risks my great friend; to loose in this fight is true death"
Absently controlling the chariot they ride in, guiding the horses as if by second nature, the young Greek ponders the question for a moment.
"While many are they who seek the oracle, I do believe that this group would be quite notable. We are almost there so we will soon see if this is the case."

A bit about the area around the Oracle; hot; dry; very little vegatation; scatters grasses; the smell of death and rot; lots of boulders and rocks and ravines; a harsh dead area; not much moving; close to the Oracle; the smell of salt air and fish can be smelled; and a cooling wind blows from the coast; but it is an ill wind with evil in the air which sets your little hairs on your neck on edge.
entering the glade and rocks of the hilltop of the Oracle; where her great monument is; that whole area is warm and restful; a peace and harmony fills the area; their is grass and trees; green and the sun is warm and healing; suffused in colors that reflect and bounce off of things is a most beautiful way; all somewhat natural.
You see a storm building off in the distance; will probably storm tonight and most of tomorrow; means the ravines will probably flow; flooding wont happen at the Oracle; but it will somewhere.

Astinos |

Astinos looks to the bard with a smile. An orange is a fruit brought here on ships from distant shores. He meant that those we seek would most likely be different.
Raising his voice to it's battle field pitch, Astinos draws the attention of all in earshot.
"Spread the word, this is a temple of Apollo, Lord of the Sun. All who would do violence here will be met with the full power of Olymian fury. Treat your weapons as if peacebonded and your tempers as if chilled. The Sun is high and Lord Apollo is watching"

Namaste |

Looks like riders are approaching Namaste. With some luck my Cousin will see the dust trails, and follow them here.
Namaste give Llvenoc a gentle look. She knows it hurts him to think of his cousin, a hurt that is all too familiar to her, with her own isolation from her family and friends.
"I am sure your cousin fares well. And if the Fates allow, we will find her one day, somehow."
She looks to the horizon and the approaching dust cloud. It wouldn't be the first arrival she's seen since she's been at the Oracle grounds, but each new arrival may bear gladder or sadder tidings, so each one is met with a bit of anxiety and trepidation ... as well as a small twinge of fear that the war has finally come even to this neutral place.

Zuberi Ra-Amon |

Raising his voice to it's battle field pitch.., Astinos draws the attention of all in earshot. "Spread the word, this is a temple of Apollo, Lord of the Sun. All who would do violence here will be met with the full power of Olympian fury. Treat your weapons as if peacebonded and your tempers as if chilled. The Sun is high and Lord Apollo is watching"
Zuberi braced himself as he held his greatspear firmly in one hand, his other hand he raised to his brow as he glanced up at the fiery disc that rested in the heavens above.
The suns rays of light gleamed across the ring which was fixed on the finger of his lifted hand. He smiled to himself, comforted by the thought of the power that was channeled through the god Apollo.
In times like this, the golden hue of Zuberi skin was even more apparent. His scales appeared to shimmer even as they soaked in the sun.
“tis good to know that Apollo’s eye will be upon all. A reprieve from the thought of battle is welcomed.”

Valegrim |

The bard laughes till he can barely breath; whew; he says; well; hmm; if you meet any of the Horsemen; be in tune with you diety as your probably on your way to meet them. But dont worry; they are not around here; what is going on here is small potatoes to the likes of them. What this here seems to be is more of the same; that with destroys the hope and will of men to resist Evil and despair; that is why a victory is needed here; to bring hope. As for the undead; I know less of them than you; truely; I have never heard of such a vile thing until a few months ago; simply facinatin in a rather horrific way.
Astinos turns back to the bard riding in the chariot alongside him and Zuberi.
"About the song you sang last night. We may need your knowledge of these "Horsemen" what should we be prepared for?"

Valegrim |

There is an area where people attend to mounts; you see many kinds from giant rams to horses to one unknown lizard thing; most people walk so there are not many mounts; from this area there is a path to ascend the hill.
all are free to talk and introduce themselves; those just arriving notice that at the base of the oracles hill; is a figure waiting for you; he appears to be dressed in common roman clothing; he is holding up a small placard in his had to show he is part of Aeneaus' irregular intelligence forces and probably has information to give.

Astinos |

Astinos allows his horses and chariot to be attended to as he, gathers up his weapons and dismounts with his Egyptian friend.
As the two warriors walk across the courtyard at the base of the hill they draw all eyes towards them. Along the way the two meet up with the other camp member with a similar mission.
"Zuberi, Kemnebi, I believe we will find our contact and the necessary information with that man. Shall we have a few words with him?"

Kemnebi 'Djal Ibenbast' |

Sorry, tried to post earlier, got side tracked by work!
No one remembered exactly when the heavily robed and cowled Kemnebi joined the entourage. Possibly because he wore the common desert robes that many of the retainers wore, though of finer manufacture. He kept himself turbaned and veiled from the sun and sand as they traveled, leaving no part exposed to the biting desert heat. Even his fine, long-fingered hands were protected by gloves. And despite the obviously over-stuffed pack on his back, had no trouble keeping pace with the lead chariot as it travelled . When they stopped to rest, he would lean on his intricately carved staff and observe the goings-on around him. Sometimes he would rubberneck like a tourist, obviously interested in listening to several of the conversations going on around him.
If he is a spy, he is a poor one indeed. He acts more like a commoner in the big city for the first time, taking in all the sights and sounds around him. He seemed as interested in the horses pulling the chariot and the ingredients of the evening's meals as the language and accents of those in the group. He offers no conversation, but responded politely enough to questions and directions. His voice is soft with a distinct upper-class Egyptian accent, but with a soft, rolling lilt to it that is hard to place. And the Ring-tailed egyptian cat that always accompanied him, usually riding on his shoulder, made it hard for him to blend in for too long.
Once one of the guards challenged him, demanding that he unveil. At first Kemnebi stiffened, then Salaamed deeply. After offering up a short prayer complete with much bowing and salaams, he meekly removed his head covering, revealing a young man (barely a man by some cultures) with close-cropped black hair, unassuming Eqyptian features, and strange, piercing green eyes.
Afterwards, whenever any of the entourage would offer him drink or food, or ask to look at him as they spoke, he would acquiesce. But always he would perform the same soft, chanting prayer before uncovering his face. And he always re-covered his face as soon as it was polite to do so. There were never any complaints when he did so. As pleasant as he was to look upon, and despite his innocent, nervous smile, there was something unnerving about the way he stared at you with those green eyes. Almost as if he could see inside you.
As the chariot and it's entourage entered the safety of the oasis, the young Hemnebi threatened to remove his head coverings by the sheer force of his head movements. SO swiftly did he turn his head back and forth, trying to catch all of the sights at once.
HE stands amid the hustle and bustle of the caravan as it sets to the purpose of unpacking from it's journey. He looks back and forth, obviously either unsure of what to do, or looking for something.
The warriors who rode in the chariot for the journey walk past the hooded young man. HE had not spent much time with anyone, but had ended up spending the most with those two, having soft discussions around the last of the evenings campfire's. To them he had confided that was a representative of the Temple, sent to fulfill a quest of both personal and spiritual significance. The warrior who was called Astinos asked him if he would like to join them.
With a nod and a curious tilt of his head, he followed.

GM GAME INFO TO PlAYERS:
hmm this prolly should be on the discussion thread; but I dont want anyone to miss it.
Djal; please pick an alignment;
here is a bit for everyone on how alignments work in my game; when you choose a starting alignment; i give you 100 points in each part; so if your Lawful Good; you get 100 points of Lawful; 100 points of Good. As your characters play through the game; you will probably make choices and decisions that will fit either good; evil or nuetrality; or law or chaos; as you make those choices and i will decide as gm if they have any impact and give your character points for the choices you make.
take Balfic Graas old character; he is nearly epic level; and has been in my game for a while; I dont have his chart in front of me; so going by memory;
Balfic has about 1221 Lawful Points
Balfic has about 17 Chaos Points
Balfic has about 232 Nuetral Points;
so; he is clearly Lawful. follows rules, order, makes plans; ect.
Balfic has about 577 Good Points
Balfic has about 112 Nuetral Points
Balfic has about 934 Evil Points
So; Balfic is clearly Evil; but he has also done a lot of unselfish; self sacrificing; and helpful things; he has just done more dirty, selfish; plague of humanity stuff that he is in no alignment trouble.
So; no single or few acts are likely to change a characters alignment; sure some items can do it; some acts like drinking a dieties blood or something on that scale; but what you should take away from this as players is that choices of actions is part of the game; while some characters alignements are irrelavent; some characters really need to maintain thier alignment status; if youi get within 20% of your character sheets alignment; I will let you know; and why if you like, but your task is more or less to play the alignment you choose.
I dont think a lot needs to be said about this; I just wanted you all to know about it if you didnt already. It really isnt a big deal and most of the stuff you do doesnt qualify as an alignment choice; if you would like some examples of what kind of things give alignement points; I can post some game examples that have occured in the past on the discussion thread.

Zuberi Ra-Amon |

"Zuberi, Kemnebi, I believe we will find our contact and the necessary information with that man. Shall we have a few words with him?"
“indeed, perhaps he’ll even know of an ideal spot were we all can camp for the evening. Or with a little luck, perhaps Aeneus has already made arrangements for everyone in advance” Zuberi says as he glances at the distant dark storm clouds.
“you mentioned your quest having some spiritual significance Kemnebi, are you intending on seeking an audience with the Oracle for guidance? If so, would you mind if I accompanied you? I’ve heard rumors that the Oracle knows all and any may ask their questions.”
Spot 15+ Caledon is unnaturally still.
Though Zuberi noticed the unnatural stillness of Caledon, he dismissed it and accounted it to a form of self discipline. He also recalled what Astinos had mentioned about Apollo not permitting violence and watching over this place. If there was something to fear from this man it was not to be in this place.
Greetings Nobles; says a dry voice like gravel; I am Caledon; a Seeker of Truth in current service of one that you know and call Pious Aeneus; it is my task to present you and those of your company to those what I have found who are lost sheep among the wolves; who themselves would be the Princes wolves to stalk and tear the flesh from the plans of his enemy. When you assemble; I shall take you to them; they are in repose and sadly there once mighty numbers have been dwindled by the distractions of the living; ah; but not many can resist the call of glory so who can blame them.
“Well met Caledon, I am Zuberi Ra-Amon” he say with a slight bow
“how many of the Prince’s wolves still remain?” he asks after the other have introduced themselves (if they care to)
“If I may ask, what is the protocol if one seeks an audience with the Oracle?”
“oh yes, by chance has Aeneus made any arrangements in the way of accommodations for us all, including our guards during our stay here?” he ask once Caledon begins leading them to the other group

Astinos |

The unnatural stillness of Caledon draws a raised eyebrow from Astinos. He nods to himself, impressed with the man's obvious inner discipline and makes his introductions along with the others.
"I look forward to meeting our new allies. May they find comfort in the increase of their number. Is there time for a visit to the Oracle or do matters require our attention immediately?"
Looking to Zuberi he lowers his voice, "From what I know of Aeneus he is nothing if not thorough. I am sure arrangements have been made."

Kemnebi 'Djal Ibenbast' |

“you mentioned your quest having some spiritual significance Kemnebi, are you intending on seeking an audience with the Oracle for guidance? If so, would you mind if I accompanied you? I’ve heard rumors that the Oracle knows all and any may ask their questions.”
Kemnebi shrugged, watching the activity around them from beneath his cowl. "I may. I'm not sure yet. From what I've read, the Oracle will answer any question that you put to her. But the trick is in asking the right question. I'm afraid that I,... wouldn't know what to ask." He replies in his softly lilting voice. "But if I do, you of course are most welcome to accompany me!" He hastily adds, trying make sure that the other realizes that his hesitation in answering wasn't meant as an insult.
the aboriginal looking human bard is following along humming a little ditty behind Astinos and Zuberi and stops suddenly; and looks up at Djal; and says:

The turbaned and veiled figure stops and stiffens at the bard's questions. Then he relaxes as his head slumps down. Even though you cannot see them, you can tell that he has closed his eyes. He quickly regains his composure and effortlessly catches back up to the others.
"No, I am not a Raksasha. Though these creatures are not unheard of where I am from. Nor am I a cursed shapeshifter beholden to the moon's power. My race is called Cathan by the Egyptians. Or H'Raal as we call ourselves." From beneath the veil, the warriors can feel his gaze upon them, as he watches to see how they will react to this news.
"In Hagra- Obidia, where I am from, My kind is not that unusual. Especially considering it is a sacred city to Bast. But even there we are outnumbered by the other non-humans, dwarfs, half-elves,..."
He turns his head to consider the shorter bard carefully. "May I ask how you came to notice? I was careful to keep myself covered the entire trip. And when necessity dictated otherwise, I was most careful to disguise my true appearance. Ah. Of course. My acting skills are rudimentary compared to yours. And I haven't been away from home for long." He shakes his head in frustration, and you can barely hear him whisper,... "Should have thought of that. Stupid stupid stupid!"

Valegrim |

the bard cackles:
"fear not Son of the Feline Lady; my condolances for your lost; but give not hope a rest; all that was is coming again.
As for the hows and whys; well, i suppose I could say you walk not like a man nor elf; i could say you smell not unlike a furred beast; or I suppose I could say a great many meaningless things; but the truth of the matter is their is a song on the wind; whispers of your name given at your naming that surround you; whispers of your task to protect that which was sacred; do you not realize that when the strings of fate were woven; those strings have resonance of sound that the initiated can hear; all things are named; and in that name it draws form and function; ones such as I have spent much time learning to hear what is on the wind.
He looks at your with startleing directness: you know words have power; I can smell your art, know you that with my kind and some others; anything said anywhere in the world can be heard by one who listens
He lightens up and becomes more jovial; but of course; somethings are much more difficult to hear than others and much of it is disjuctive and doesnt make sense and some is down right unintelligable. He laughs; yes, i hear voices; always; like right now for instance; two voices about 3ft above you are arguing about you; tiny voices; I would guess fey; seems one is arguing you are a lost brother that forgot how to shift to other forms and should be saved for you own good; the other is arguing that you obviously stuck in this form as a pennance for some deed not yet done and must be allowed to go on without interferance so your spirit can be free to return to the source of joy. I think they are near to come to blows; but I cannot see them; they are just voices.
Ah'; thus we arrive at the Dead Man; greetings once again Caledon; have you yet found inner peace with your Orders rituals of self discipline, pain, and self denial?

Valegrim |

Caledon gives a half smile; greetings again Windbag; I see none has yet deflated your exuberance or flighty manner; truely you are a zepher of life; what news have you?
Much is the same and unchanged, o child of two worlds, but I have interesting news; I have now heard a new word; something called an Orange; and i am excited to find one; to measure its quality; and discover how not like Apples they are <he does a very excited, giddly little dance laughing in joy - a fair amount of tumbling is involved>
the bard sings; Tell me o monk of few words; voice of little breath; have you the knowlege of the Orange?
Caledon's gravely voice responds; Yes o eater of much air; and singer with hot breath; I have the knowledge of the Orange; there is a grove not far from here that you may visit for it is a plant that grows in this region.
My Pardon warriors true; that puff of air and I are old aquaintences thought I believe him to be the more quaint than I - the bard is rolling in laughter - though I may be biased.
If you will attend; I will introduce you to those taking repose; the Oracle will give blessing in the morn for those who would stop that evil plan which in set to motion.
<Caledon will lead the group to meet the pcs that are at the Oracle; and start introductions by name only; feel free to greet each other and converse; again; there is a bazaar here and you can see the various races i mentioned in earlier posts>

"Greetings. I am Astinos, Champion of the Goddess Athena." He looks to the beautiful woman next. "I offer my spear and my shield to your effort."
