Catching up as best I can,... :)

In the middle of 'arguing semantics' with Llivenoc, Kemnebi is interrupted by Nebibit howling at him in Feline! Taken aback, and looking startled, Kemnebi replies in kind. His own mwrowling sounding perhaps less vehement than Nebibit, but no less intense.

Feline:

Spoiler:
What?,... Wait!,... Now, hold on just a sand-flea-scratching second sister! There wasn't a battle when I left! We split up to investigate, remember? You had plenty of casters here, so I followed June, er, the others, to provide magical support! It's NOT my fault that what Llivenoc was looking for was hidden in a faerie half-realm and guarded by the freaking Summer Knight/Grand Poo-Bah,... WHATEVER his title is! And when that centaur,... Well, I couldn't make our side look weak by bowing to a name-calling bully could I?!? And I wasn't about to make things worse by refusing to be escorted by the Lady, and then she offered me, something, and then I , well I don't know if I died, but I'm here NOW, and,... Of COURSE I'm taking this seriously! That's all I've EVER tried to do! To make you proud of me! I mean,... everyone at the temple! I,... really don't know who she was, now that you mention it. I mean, I asked her of course, but she, never got around to answering that part,... I guess."

Kemnebi's hissing reply builds frantically, as if in anger or frustration, then abruptly tapers off, as if confused. He is rescued by Fox's mental communication. (And Kemnebi notices that she seems to have taken to the constant mental chatter far more easily than he did. Must be something to do with being a mask-mage, one part of his mind idly wonders.)

Fox wrote:
Mindlink "Kemnebi, I hope your adventure did not cost you many spells. I have nearly exhausted my resources for the day. I'm hopeful that the snakes' magestones might provide some aid, though."

'Um,... NO. I mean, Yes. I mean,... I'm good, plenty of firepower left. The 'visit' with the fae didn't cost me anything. Spell-wise.' He replies mentally.

"Just my life,..." He mutters under his breath, perhaps a little petulantly. He ceases muttering with a sideways glance at Nebibit.

Kemnebi stiffens slightly, and reaches up to touch his new necklace. There is a brief moment where he doesn't move at all, as if listening intently for something,...

Vale-

Spoiler:
I presume the 'voice' is the centipede? And I presume that it is referring to the two bodies of the mage & priest that everyone else is so 'oh my gosh it's gonna erupt and eat us?' over?!? :) Just making sure so my reaction makes sense!

Kemnebi mentally replies. 'Greetings,... my new servant.' he replies, (thinking in the back of his mind that he should take his cue from its calling him master, and at least pretend like he's supposed to be in charge here!)

'Yes, I sense it too. As do most of the others. POwerful,... but there seems to be some concern about it. I confess to a desire for power. But I am not some diabolical demi-god wannabe. I do not desire power regardless of consequences! I have no desire to BECOME a monster in an attempt to STOP the monsters! If it as evil as the ladies say, then it is too dangerous to,... Unless,...'

Kemnebi's mind races with the possibilities, perils, ... and justifications.

'Quickly! IF left alone, will it take form?! And will simply burying it or dousing it in holy-magic actually stop it?! If it must be taken to prevent it taking form,... can it be destroyed, or controlled?! Can I control it if I take it?!? I will NOT become a vessel for the serpent's!' Kenebi almost shouts mentally, his desire, fear, loathing and feline curiosity al mixing together into a jumble of almost primitive emotions,...

He turns to Hathor, sitting on his shoulder as always.

"Hathor,...?" he asks aloud,... almost desperately,...

He is seriously considering taking his new 'friend's' advice and claiming the power! Provided he can be convinced that he won't 'turn evil' or become a slave to the snakemen if he does so! There is also the intriguing possibility of June's reaction his taking it affecting his judgement. (I'm a little slow on the uptake, so feel free to put the thought in head of what June might think about this. She still confuses me sometimes!) ;) Neb being angry at him currently might actually make him do it out of spite. But June, He's still sorting his feeling for her out too. While she seems to be on the side of 'it's evil, don't touch it!' she has been trying to help him in his personal quest for power, and she doesn't seem to have the same moral hangups that mere mortals do. Hathor can also affect his decision. While he has become more stubborn recently, he still looks to her for advice, and a single positive or negative reaction from her could change his mind. Of course, she IS a cat,... and possibly his connection to Bast,... but he doesn't know that yet! ;P (This is SO confusing, and so much fun!) :)

SO, I wait on your input, and whatever his choice is, I figure his jumping to claim it, or jumping away to safety, will take place at about the same time as your final call for last second actions.

Kemnebi seems to shudder, as if wracked with a sudden cold. He suddenly turns to look at Hathor, sitting on his shoulder as always, and watching him intensely.

"Hathor,...?" He says softly, almost plaintively, either ignoring or unaware of all of the sudden intense discussion and actions being taken around him. Then there is another ominous rumble from far above,...

Waiting on one bit of input from Val, and then I should be caught up to present tense! :)

Male Efreeti, advanced manthing 45HD

Nebibit; you do not have Kenembi or a good idea where he is; best guess about 8 ft from you buried in tons of dirt and rock.

Llvenoc; you also know that digging in a cave if of loose dirt; you cant easily make a tunnel as it just keeps collapsing.

A short investigation of the left tunnel;shows that you and the other with you; are in a short pocket tunnel about 10 ft wide and 30ft long; both ends are collapsed; there is no apparent way in or out; but you know that the source of the cave in was back the direction you came towards the crypts so to digg out; you probably want to go toward the snakes. You also are cognizant that snakes sense vibration; so many types of digging may alert them.

Durr; Fox; Nebibit; Durr can dig with his claws; but Fox and Nebibit will need to move the dirt from his effort behind the group as you three are in a very small pocket; he is a pretty good digger and has the burrow ability. He refused to dig back toward the collapse.

Male Efreeti, advanced manthing 45HD

The problem here is the collapse is all loose dirt; an A frame with timbers and clay and lots of water would be best; you just dont have it available. So; from an engineering standpoint; digging into the collaps will only drop more dirt from above into the collapse; from Fox's mindlink announcement; only two people are missing; Kenembi and June.

The immediant problem is air; your in a small pocket tunnel; no air source; thus you will tire quickly and the air will get stale; if the others join you in this pocket; the air will get stale even faster. With your training; you know your prime task is to get to a fresh air supply or pretty much you will all suffocate; you and llvenoc know this danger as if it were written in your very bones.

Kemnebi calms Hathor with a firm but casual thought. For a moment he enjoys the realization that he's not dead.

Yet.

He can feel the kitten batting at things in the darkness, and the slight but distinct feel of the centipede reassuring itself that it has a firm grip, but all of that pales in comparison to the overwhelming of his senses that being pressed up against June is providing. He takes a small breath, (Trying not to panic at the realization that he is entombed and immobile!) And then another just to enjoy the scent, and mutters the first thing that comes to mind into what he presumes must be June's stomach.

"What a way to go!" He grins unseen. "Are you alright June?" He adds with serious concern in his muffled voice.

The mental shout of Kosan calling all of the companions to call in causes him to remember that he has more important things to do than enjoy the view.

'Hey! Um, Kemnebi here. And June. We're alive, (Yes Hathor, they know your here too!) Um, but we're totally buried. I think. Yes. I'm not sure I can wiggle my fingers to cast even if I had a spell to get us out of this!'

Your estimate is that it would be best to cut a new tunnel; from the lay of the dirt by direction; as a ray, you estimate the collapse from the tunnel which went farther into the snake lair; came from the south when facing west, west being further into the snake lair. It is anyone guess how far to dig before you hit another tunnel or if you want to tunnel a certain distance then make a right angle turn to join a more probably entry into the lair.

The water would only help if you had clay; which is not available here.

you people usually pounded a rod; much like a spear into the dirt; once you reach a pocket or open space; the spear has no resistance; also; some of your people have spells or psionics that can use some type of vision or resonance to find tunnels; none of which you have access to at this time.

"this cave in will not kill my sister, nor lack of food or breath though I doubt she relishes the thought of being entombed next to Mage Kenembi as his body rots away next to her. It is not my intention to be so graphic, M'Lord, but that is the course this will take if some action is not taken. Same as I will exist here long after you three perish if we do not find that which sustains you.

"There is a large boulder that pins your right ankle. Master Kosan; Goodman Dom, may we have your assitance here please, we will require either great strength; leveraage; or perhaps a lubricant."

in a whisper to Kenembi:
"Have you any ideas Mageling? I am afraid to attempt to move lest I crush your frail form by accident; the dirt around us is still soft; I may be able to pack it down away from us to give us a little room; though I warn you; in this tight space with our bodies pressed together; I am at war with my natural amorous instincts...and I fear I have little experience at self control and the smell of sex is still very strong upon you; did you like that other girl so much? No, do not answer me, this is bad; bad; you are not ready for this; (more husky voice) bad bad bad....Mortal; do you know why moths seek the Flame?"

her aura become stronger; more attractive; seductive, alluring, frightening, alien; deva vamp type vampires are toddler amatuers compaired to her.

"Mistress, dwarf & humans this way, can smell 'em; cat mage be lost to us maybe; he is with that..that thing, He have no Mask to shield his mind, no Faith to protect his soul."

this tunnel is about 3ft high and about 9 ft long; cramped; you guys will have to worm and move the dirt around you though he is packing much is it down.

<Fox; of the thousands of Warders in the Order, only a handful have burrow; looks like you got unexpectantly lucky>

Under her breath, "I have heard it said that it is better to be lucky than good... Durr, we will find the others, then we will find the feline mage. We need him alive for many reasons."

She makes small, controlled movements, expending as little air and energy as possible, as she helps move loose dirt out of Durr's tunnel and into the back of the hole he's made for them. She's endeavor to not put it on the feline cleric. "Tamp this down so it takes less space, would you? But keep your movements small, don't work yourself into breathing hard -- air is in short supply."
