The snake shamman gets a spell off and many wounds begin to close on the still standing Abomination.

The abomination attacks and hits Durr really hard leaving him a bloody mess; but still standing; then breaths some sort of poisonous vapor; Durr and Kosan make Fort saves. Anyone without a reach weapon who moves in to base to base with this Abomination will also need to make a Fort save.

Acting on a 15 initiative

Initiative 18

Ranged Touch Attack against the remaining abomination 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (18) + 8 = 26 includes penalty for shooting into melee and bonus from Point Blank Shot and bonus from Blessing of Horus (which I forgot last time (Doh!))

Orb of Electricity Damage 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6 include bonus from PBS and Warmage Edge

Mindlink Kosan, status report. We have several engaged in melee with the spellcasters and I am running low on spells. The wizard has not returned with Caerwyn, as far as I can tell.

Mindlink Nebibit, we have some walking wounded, can you aid them?

Mindlink Durr, don't be a stubborn fool. If you will not disengage, see if you can maneuver to give the dwarf and yourself an advantage. Don't know how mobile he is, but if he can take a 5' toward a flank next round, I think that would be helpful.

Mindlink If you are fighting the spellcasters, mind the stones floating around their heads -- that appears to be where their powers come from.

+1 healing from Blessing of Horus

Whew! I think that was everything.

Seeing the abomination fall, Fox moves toward the melee around the spellcasters (within 30', if possible) and, remember the effect of her last orb, casts again, choosing cold damage instead.

Bringing rolls down from above:

Ranged touch attack: 26

If this is not an option for some reason, she will trade the orb for a Magic Missile instead, dealing 1d4+4 damage when warmage edge is included.

ACK! sorry guys! (Stoopid RL work schedule!) :P

Kemnebi blinks again,

in mindlink 'All of those are colorful ideas June. Almost guaranteed to make them wonder what I'm up to. But I'm not sure that I want to try and show off. Yet. I think I'll just try something a little more, subtle. That should REALLY make them wonder what I'm up to! I hope.' (June & Llivenoc catch a flash of humor through the link as he envisions himself jumping like a catapult stone into the river, followed by a mental shudder.)

Kemnebi clears his throat and lifts the hand of the water fey he is holding. He bows over it close enough for his whiskers to touch. "Until next time then, fair lady." He says in farewell with a pleasant grin.

The mage lifts his head and stares at the oncoming champions of Summer as if he had not realized that they were there. "Oh, is it that time already?" He murmurs aloud. He makes no move to scurry, instead he leans on his staff, using the opportunity to study the figures close-up. His head tilts sideways in curiosity as his feline eyes flit from item to item on their clothing, trying to take in every detail. He smiles as they approach.

"Good day gentlemen! A most interesting game so far. I look forward to seeing more." Kemnebi says amiably. He stands there for a moment, smiling at them, then realizes that he is standing between them and the bridge.

"Oh. I beg your pardon, I'm sure." He says with a polite but brief nod of his head, (acknowledging his faux paux, but to an equal, not a superior) as he pivots side ways to clear the path. He smiles with a grand 'after you' gesture.

"Good luck gentlemen!" He says pleasantly.

The Lord Marshal direct to Kenembi "move post haste back to your companions if you would, as my friend finds your invasion into our territory an afront, move now and all will be as it was"

Male Efreeti, advanced manthing 45HD

<after the interlude of whatever Kenembi's choice of action will be>

The two players again take their places and the Avatar has reset the game to another battlefield with new opponents and hundreds if not thousands of choices and paths to defeat or victory; the opponents this time have posistions equally matched; the goal; after 100 moves to have the most advantageous position at the end; the pace is set such that each player has but 3 seconds; the position and game is that of which many generals have to face; instant decisions; near instantaneous grasp of a thousand details and trim it down into a cold decision.

The players begin; this game is fast and furious; both players sweating on the brown; hands moving at a near blur; yet in the end; both players step back breathing hard; sweat upon their brow at the mental energies expended.

The Avatar speaks; "the Winner of this round: Winter."

Thus Prince Llvenoc; perhaps it was youth and brash, bold moves that won his victory over that of a near immortal Lord Marshal; perhaps it was the millions of battles the Lord Marshal had seen that he could not choose one best path; here at the end; the Lord Marshal looks to have a long term advantage building; but the game being 100 moves; Prince Llvenoc has the clear advantage of gains and stronger position.

The Avatar declares; Rest period; 10 minutes while the game is reset for the third round."

I nod respectfully to the Grand Marshal after the match before I leave the bridge. Mentally and emotionally exhausted after dueling in the second round of the Great Game. Knowing each piece represents so much more. Surprised I pulled off a victory against such a superior opponent. But a victory none the less. It takes hundreds of years for one to learn the Second Tier. Amazed the Rruckles match is actually going to the third Tier. A level that takes thousands of years to learn, and master. At my age I have only studied theory, and never seen the Third Tier played. Seeing how fatigued I am I have no illusion the third match will be his. Experience will carry the day. I am proud of my accomplishments thus far. Even in the end if I loose the challenge, and the artifact. There will be no shame in it. I have played my best. And on this day no blood was spilled.

Male Efreeti, advanced manthing 45HD

You guys are still playing on the prime tier; just different pieces and set up and different variables. There are hundreds of opponent peices in each array; good; nuetral; evil that any player can bring into play; and the battlefield can be earth; water; ice; lava; air; and it can be light or dark and any of these variables can be on or off or mixed in any quantity. there are node stones that provide a bonus to one or more qualities of a piece be it terrain or allied piece; some are denoted a faction; some can be captured and used by anyone who holds them. Then their is peice variation; some peices have more abilities or gain abilities when used in conjunction with other peices and the opposite is true as well; where some pieces have dissadvantages facing some terrains or opponents; some move quickly; some move slowly; some are loners; some are best in groups.

He reaches up and idly scratches at one whisker with a gloved claw. He smiles benevolently up at the centaur. Like one would a child. A slow child.

"Ah, yes. Vulgarities and insults. The first refuge of the dull-witted. How very original." He says pleasantly. Kemnebi ignores the centaur as if he is of no consequence and turns to the Lord Marshall.

"Oh, I believe I see. There is a minor misunderstanding on the part of your 'friend' Sir Knight. Mainly the facts that the presence of a single person, no matter how debonair and good-looking, can hardly be considered an 'invasion'. And the fact that I was invited. By the lovely lady from the river. We were having a most stimulating conversation." He explains politely, gesturing to the spot where he was 'talking' to the water fey.

"Well. I must apologize, for I assure you I did not mean to unduly intimidate your assistant. I shall of course remove myself so as not to frighten him any more. After you, of course," He says, gesturing gallantly for the Lord Marshall to precede him.

"Please, do not delay the game on my account." He adds politely with a respectful bow of his head, Deeper than before.

There is a sudden surge of pleasant emotion through the mental link.
'Hah! Never enter a battle of wits unarmed my fine four-legged friend! Oh. Wait, did I actually say all that OUT LOUD?!??,... Oh. C,...' And there is sudden silence as Kemnebi slams his will onto his thoughts in sudden panic.

The mage stands there, bowing respectfully, one arm raised indicating the Lord Marshall should precede him, as befits his higher status.

Vale;

Spoiler:

Please note that I deliberately did NOT insult the Lord Marshall! :) (I'm crazy, not suicidal) I indicated that it was a misunderstanding, on the part of the centaur. I did that because his statements phrased it like the centaur was getting upset. This leaves both us with a way out that is polite and gentlemanly. By the strict letter of over-polite society as I understand it. (And I don't pretend to actually understand it!) ;P If the Lord marshal will interpret any of the above as a direct insult, let me know and I will edit it! Thanks!

Male Efreeti, advanced manthing 45HD

The Lord Marshal wont consider it an insult; though he will wait until you are on your side of the bridge before stepping on it; now the Centaur Knight on the other hand; Centaurs are loud; obnoxious; tend to drink heavily; brash and obnoxious at best; though rarely evil.
Such a comment will absolutely draw a challenge of arms from the centaur and if you live; pretty much lifelong emnity with some of the Summer Court; hehe ask Kosan about his brother's emnity issue. Though I will roll to see if the LM makes him withdraw his challenge as it would make him look like he, the LM picked the fight as a diversion, something Winter would do to throw off an opponent; the LM is big time concerned about his image; and to take advantage of Prince Llvenoc in this way would make his look afraid or weaker in the face of the last lost round. Everything is politics and appearance to a Sidhe; everything; every expression; deed; guesture; they cannot afford to look weak or loose face or they loose real power in the Court.

Fae are way full of themselves; haughty and vindictive; lesser fae just pull a prank; like give you mule head or fill you mouth with dung while your sleeping; but greater fae tend to kill you or worse. They think of humans as little more than trained monkeys and the most prideful of humans could take pride lessons from them; Faerie blood runs hot and passions magnified a hundredfold as compared to humans. Probably comes from having a ongoing war Winter to Summer for...eternity and they fight over it with a passion near unholy. Even the slightest thing can be a deadly insult to them; think Summer is bad; Winter is three times as bad as these guys <which is why I left them back in the woods> The whole thing to gather here is that fae fight on a drop of a pin and will try to hit you before the pin actually hits the ground and to them the risk is nearly nill because they cant be killed; here anyway; and on the prime material; they dont have souls so dont go to upper or lower planes; they just reincarnate becoming more summer or more winter each time. All this is beyond your character knowlege.

I tried to stress this point; perhaps I didnt do a good job. You can take back your comments and do a different action if the majority of the party agrees its ok; dont want anyone to feel cheated. You also have a few other options that could modifiy this situation, but remembering that your character is young; well; young people make these mistakes; it happens; keeps life...interesting.

Hope this helps; been looking forward to your characters actions; keeps me grinning. Hope your having fun with it.

Okay my vote is that Kemnebi keeps his action. I think it will make for more interesting roleplay.

Kemnebi in the Mindlink

Spoiler:
Kemnebi... Keep up what your doing just don't get yourself killed. I believe the Lady you are talking to is from neither Summer or Winter. She intended to put you into that position. The game being played around me is just as important as the Rruckles match I am in. A game within a game. A piece within a piece. As long as a piece has value it won't be sacrificed. Right now you are her piece. Use that to your advantage. The contest is between Summer and Winter. Remember there are three factions of Fey...

No matter what happens the Lord Marshall will loose standing. Its sad, but its the cold truth. You drew forth the ire of his Knight. If he calls him back he looses face. Making my victory stand out that much more. If he doesn't then the "truce" Summer and Winter have in the great war might break. Have no question that this guy is better than me. He is a Grand Master of the game. I shouldn't be winning.

Even if my victory against him is an orcheastrated ruse. You stepping onto Summer's side is still an insult. You have made an enemy of that Knight, and those who call him friend and ally. That cannot be erased. If you tuck tail and run you will show weakness. Then forever after both Courts will put you in a position where they will seek to take advantage of you. They Fey are the stuff of dreams and emotions. They feel things a thousand times more intense than you can ever imagine. A kiss, the scent of a rose, love, an insult, hatred.

To them you are one of them, but limited, broken. You don't have the advantage of being an Elf; or so low in there Esteem as being human. You don't have those protections. All sides have taken notice of you. Great things can be in store for you depending on how you act. You can not make all sides happy. You play wrong there are worse things than death. No matter what happens you are part of the Great Game now. You can't change that. You have drawn attention to yourself from the Courts.

I was actually planning on keeping it anyway (unless everyone wanted me to change it!), I'm to LAZY to re-write that speech if I don't have to! :)
And your explanations/warnings were fine Vale, I've just been reading TOO many Harry Dresden novels lately. I have too much 'smart-@$$ hero' in my mind, and was thinking how the fae reacted in those stories. (WWDD? What would Dresden Do?) ;P

OK. Kemnebi said it. Out loud. JUST to clarify, (since vocal inflections and facial expressions are difficult to express in PbP) Allow me to reiterate. I was NOT attempting to insult the LM. Just show him that I'm not scared of him. (Yeah, right). I WAS attempting to insult the centaur, but I did because he insulted me first! (so there!) ;P I was trying to show that he didn't scare me, and he could not insult me with impunity, I will insult him right back! ALthough I suppose I might have 'insulted' him first by stepping onto his side of the bridge? If that's the case, does he get to insult ME one more time, and we're even? :)

NOW we get to see if Kemnebi's moouth is as fast as he thinks it is!

You are not talking with a common Fey, but a Noble Woman. The greater her standing; the greater the impact she will bring. The more favor she grants you. The more her enemies will take notice.

Some more things you should probably know. All Fey tell the truth according to there own perspective. They will hold you to the rules of there court, as well as your homeland. Favors are used as currency. Bewary not to owe one. If you somehow are owed a favor from a Fey....Best not to talk about that. Don't want to overwhelm you. Anyway goodluck.

"Kemnebi, I know Sidhe, if you want this girl then do as I say; look her right in the eyes; never waver; dont blink; ignore all things but looking directly into her eyes to see the spirit inside; thus she will be yours as is her nature; if you wish to be rid of her then look at her body; your surrounding but dont look upon her face; though at this point that could put your in jepardy. See how she talks to you to talk about yourself; this is a game; play equal share with her and you will gain respect in her eyes; force her to talk about herself and memorize what she says for it will be the truth; but you must scrutinize it to find what she is not saying.

Thus I keep my word to you to aid you on your quest for power"

Male Mountain Dwarf Fighter 8th Level (Dwarf Variant)

Round 5:
My initiative was 26.

My Garden Snake is dead so I Drop my Hammer/Axe and pull my 2 Throwing Hammers (FYI: 1 at a time. I have Quick Draw Feat. Hammers range 60 Ft, Blessed, and Silvered.) Both aimed at Mage:

Will Save (if needed): 17 (1d20) + 3 (Adj) = 20.

Hit #1: 16 (1d20) + 8 (Base Atk) + 8 (Mod) + 5 (Bless from Horus) = 37.

Damage: 06 (1d6) + 8 (Mod) = 14.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hit #2: 12 (1d20) + 3 (Base Atk) + 8 (Mod) + 5 (Bless from Horus) = 28.
Damage: 04 (1d6) + 8 (Mod) = 12.
Note: I heal my 1 point from Osirus' heal benefit. Also if the mage has disappeared then I alter aim onto the Cleric.
In the mind Link: 2 Down and 2 to go. Have at em Lads and Lasses. Fox Keep up the good work Lass.
M Human (Greek) Paladin of Athena 5 7/ Knight of Athens 4 6
Is there debris between me and the mage or can I charge him?
Male Efreeti, advanced manthing 45HD
Will save is only needed for the shaman; the mage has other defenses.
You can charge if you think Caerwyn will get out of the way; he is on the edge of where you would charge; you could attempt a dex roll to avoid him as you charge; failure would mean you collide; but he would get a reflex roll to avoid. As for debris; the Abomination it at your feet and there is blood everywhere; but this is a dirt tunnel so it is not wet and you can step on the abomination as he is large and it wont be an issue.
"Cearwyn, get clear!"
Astinos hurtles towards the mage, weapon leading his deadly charge.
1d20 + 21 ⇒ (19) + 21 = 40
1d8 + 12 ⇒ (5) + 12 = 17
Heal 1 hp
Initiative 18
Ranged Touch Attack against the shaman 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (2) + 8 = 10 includes penalty for shooting into melee and bonus from Point Blank Shot and bonus from Blessing of Horus)
If the Orb of Cold appeared to injure the shaman, she will use Ray of Frost for cold damage. Otherwise, she will use Acid Splash for acid damage.
Damage 1d3 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7 including bonus from PBS and Warmage Edge
MindlinkDurr, to me. How grave are your injuries?
MindlinkCan anyone grab one of the stones floating around the 'casters' heads?
+1 healing from Blessing of Horus
I move 5 feet to avoid Astinos' charge. I try to sidestep to a spot where I am still flanking with the kid, or Astinos after he charges. I attack the mage with both blades.
I will post sneak damage separately in case I am able to sneak attack through flanking. Also, my attack rolls will have the +2 from flanking, so please subtract that amount if I do not manage to flank after moving out of the way
Attack 1: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (12) + 12 = 24; Damage 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8; Sneak damage 3d6 ⇒ (3, 3, 5) = 11
Attack 2: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (2) + 12 = 14; Damage 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5; Sneak damage 3d6 ⇒ (6, 4, 3) = 13
Decidio lithefully follows Astinos on his charge; she has her hand on the center of his back during the charge and attempts Empathic Fire.
Astinos; warm and invigoration flow through you; you can feel her very close to you with a spiritual fire. In game terms; you may take part of the to hit roll you made and convert it to hit points to heal yourself, thus what she is doing is taking part of your passion and zeal and reinvigorating you body, but it all by your choice. You rolled far above what you need to hit; so you get to play the guessing game of how much to convert to hps; you could convert all of it if you wish; or just one point; all completely your choice.
remove the penalty for shooting into melee; the shaman in not currently in melee. Also; attacking the shaman requires a will save to overcome his protective ward <as long as he doesnt attack though he can cast heals and defensive magic and dispels and such>.
