The Sea Wyvern?

Savage Tide Adventure Path

Spoilers.............

At the end of the of the Sea Wyverns wake, the Boat crashes... is it totally out of comission for the rest of the campaign, or does the plot include it (repaired) in further adventurers? Just wondering cause I bought a massive cardstock miniature boat...and Im not gonna put it together for just one adventure.

According to a post from JJ in the thread 'The Blue Nixie and the Sea Wyvern: Both or just one? (Spoilers)', the Sea Wyvern will be salvaged and repaired in the fourth or fifth adventure I believe.

I had wondered about the life expectancy of the Sea Wyvern myself because my party will most likely try to 'trick it out' with upgrades, and I didn't want to take all of that investment and creativity away from them if I could avoid it.

So go ahead and get that boat assembled - it should see enough use to warrant it, and your party will love it :)

The Sea Wyvern should be around for quite some time unless something happens to it in your game that makes it unrepairable. You'll definitely get some mileage out of it otherwise. And I believe some cool gadgets will be provided along the way to do a bit "tricking out" if you wish.

A small, yet very significant part of Tides of Dread is effecting repairs on it.

Out of curiosity, where did you get the card stock boat? Do you have an on-line URL to it?

Yes; the Sea Wyvern takes a hit at the end of adventure 3, and is out of comission for adventure 4, but as Steve sez, it'll be back by the end of adventure 5.

Thanks guys, thats just what I wanted to hear. heres a link to the cardboard boat and a beach front town...its gonna be a pain to make but so sweet to game with!

Thanks for the links. I remember looking at World Works a long time ago, but at the time I wasn't running. I've already ordered my PDF, now to go to the craft store to get some supplies!

I spent about half an hour drooling on my keyboard at the stuff World Works has. I love the idea of eventually creating a whole city that you can use at miniature scale!

I might try a humbler experiment with scanning in one of the AP maps (maybe Vanderboren Manor), edit out the DM stuff in Photoshop and try to print them up on cardstock at the correct scale. Even if it isn't three-dimensional, it might look neat.

All I need to do now is conjure up about 24 more hours in my week, and I'm good to go!! ;P

I can confirm this approach works well. I scanned in the Blue Nixie and the Vault, then printed both at (roughly for the ship, due to the perspective drawing) 1"=5' scale. For the Vault, I actually printed two maps, with and without the secret door discovered. For the ship, I overlayed the main deck with the two upper deck pics, then when lifted off had each room blocked from view by a parchment-style paper cutout. Did the same for the lower deck.

Once the web enhancements are out, this should be even easier.

Oh, and I own the WWG ship as well--finished the lower deck so far.

Another question regarding the Sea Wyvern - what exactly happened on Urol's first trip to the Isle of Dread? Why was it cut short? Will this be revealed in episode 142 or should I cook something up?

This is left vague. I have my ideas what happened, of course, but it should be something that the DM expands upon to fit his or her own campaign. In other words... it's not going to ever be touched upon again in the campaign, so have at it, you DMs out there!

Did you all see the wooden ship on the store blog? Looks familiar!!!
