As the shop keeper prepares to make his move again suddenly Lazlo feels the air around him get warmer and then he explodes into a giant ball of flame! The shop keeper falls to the ground letting out a loud scream and then stops moving within a few moments as the flames vanish on their own...

Sirus was just about to pull the trigger on his own lasgun when the shop owner suddenly ignites, just like the monster did...
He compares the experiences and can come up with only one identical factor: his new ally. He would need to have a chat with Shakes. Later.
For now, he shrugs at his employer's death and looks around. Looks like we just inhereted a shop. Is everyone ok?
Mmmm...wet...Wait what? I'm not wet!?
Josiah sits up with a start, groaning in clear pain.
"Oh dear god emperor, my chest is on fire. With nails in it. Any of ye know first aid? Or have a kit handy? I can patch myself up if needs be."
Lazlo hastily backs away "What the..."
He stands back with his chainsword extended to the flaming body. "Somebody needs to tell me what just happened? Did the little ball thing do that? Was that why he paniced?"
Sirus glances at Shakes, but says, Somebody's likely to look in on this little rukus soon. Everyone knows the sound of gunfire, after all. We need to hold off the looters that come poking around if we are to gain anything from this little incident.
He starts moving around as he speaks in search of a medkit. Maybe behind the counter?
Josiah looks around, still a little dazed, and makes sure that his autopistol is in his hands. He doesn't swap in a fresh magazine, he doesn't trust his hands not to shake and drop it on the floor.
Sirus you easily find a medkit that will give +20 bonus to skill check.
Thus far no one seems to be approaching the shop.
"He was one tough shop keep." Lazlo sets about looting the dead shopkeeper.
Sirus brings the kit to Josiah. "Here."
He then goes about assessing the contents of the store and seeing if this place is worth claiming. He could use a new shop to run his business out of.
"Appreciated."
Josiah takes the kit and starts working through the painkillers and contrabiotics.

shakes walks over to the dead corpse kicking his charred remains. Suprised by the amount of damage inflicted. Shakes shutters deeply as the lingering effects of warp energies dissipates from his person

Josiah finishes stapling his chest flesh back together, as he gingerly gets to his feet.
"I don't know what it is. Thought it might be drugs. We found it on a noble who tore his own eyes out on the street, so odds were it's valuable. I didn't expect the shopkeep to go mental on us."
"He could have just told us to piss off and we would have." Lazlo grumbles as he continues looting the shop keep.
"Crazy frakker. But his loss."
Josiah begins to look around, especially for better pistols and armour.

Josiah gingerly looks around for a bite to eat, something to wash it down with, and supplies. Guns and ammo for the most part. He also covers up the object with the cloth, it gives him the creeps. He leaves it on the counter in the same position. At least the drugs are kicking in and the pain in his front is subsiding.
