"Afirmative."
Siris tugs the sleeve of his robe up to reveal the business end of his lasgun.

Josiah Graves & Lil Lazlo

Some semblance of an agreement is made between the 2 unlikely allies and you head back into the hive to find whatever leads you to creds. After about an hour of putzing around you hear a very loud woman's scream come from a large group of hivers who appear to be circling around something. The hivers are murmuring but no one appears to be taking any kind of action from what you can see.

Sirus Mechanicus & Shakes

A few moments later the sound stops just outside of your eye sight around a bend in the tunnel. Then suddenly a gurgling sounds can be heard in your mind.

"We shall feast on your entrails...

At that moment a bloated small green creature with pusses and sores all over it's body and long sharp nails come charging at you.

Please make Willpower checks and Initiative!

Init: 1d10 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7

Male Human (Cygnaran) Skilled Aristocrat/Pistolier

Josiah perks up at the sound.

"There might be a spot of action here. I'm going to get a look."

Josiah looks around for any way to step or climb up to get a better vantage point.

Init: 1d10 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
If you could post the results of a test like that (possibly in a spoiler) it would be greatly appreciated. That way I know if I get to act and how I am affected if I can.

Sirus is completely thrown off by the appearance of the horrific creature.
"I would be happy to feed them to you, as soon as I get them replaced." Sirus offers in all sincerity. "But I haven't been able to do that yet, so you can't have them."

Wounds: 10/10, FP: 1/1, TB: 5, Armour 2 (Arms, Legs and Chest)

Lazlo rolls his eyes "There's always someone doing something stupid and getting killed." Despite what he says Lazlo goes to have a look at what is going on.

Shakes covers his mouth with his off hand and trys to fight the vomit that wants to errupt from his mouth after seeing the foul pestilent creature

Sirus Mechanicus & Shakes

I'm giving all of you a natural +10 for fear checks being who you are and from the underhive.

Sirus wreches when he sees the creature but able to compose himself and ready for combat.

Poor poor Shakes with the 100!

Shakes body revolts at the sight of the abomination! His tremors become unstoppable and he begins to empty the contents of his stomach spewing bile uncontrollably!

You can attempts a Toughness check -10 on your turn each round else it lasts for 4 rounds.

The green monster moves forward rather slowly and won't make it up to the two of you this round so you both may act.

Josiah Graves & Lil Lazlo

You both push your way through the crowd. The crowd appears to be very disturbed, what the hell could unnerve these people down here and when you finally see it you understand.

Before you kneeling with his arms raised up is a man in fine, but dirty robes, obviously an upper hiver but something is missing... His EYES! The blood drips down his face from the sockets and you see his eyes on the ground before him. You can hear him murmuring "I still hear them! Make them stop!"

Wounds: 10/10, FP: 1/1, TB: 5, Armour 2 (Arms, Legs and Chest)

Lazlo's eyes dart around before he turns to Josiah. "Of course Doctor, you are right. I'll restrain him while you check his pockets for drugs!"

Clip 51/60

Sirus raises his arm mounted gun and fires. All his shots strike true, but the damage is disappointing. He starts reciting a litany to the Machine Spirit of his weapon and double checking his activation rituals.

Male Human (Cygnaran) Skilled Aristocrat/Pistolier

Without so much as a blink, Josiah responds and is moving towards the man.

"Good man, I'll get right on that!"

Josiah searches the raving noble for drugs or anything else that he can filch.

Just don't look into the holes. Just don't look into the holes...

Awareness of 39 before modifiers: 1d100 ⇒ 44

Would Lazlo's restaining count as assistance in the roll?

Sirus Mechanicus & Shakes

Sirius gun strikes the monstrosity but doesn't appear to affect it as the blasts seem to bounce off it's unnaturally tough skin...

shakes toughness: 1d100 ⇒ 17

Shakes somehow is able to control his bowels and regains composure.
You may act next round.

The creatures lunges at Sirius.
attack: 1d100 ⇒ 62 The little creatures claws just miss Sirius by a hairs length!

You both may act!

Josiah Graves & Lil Lazlo

You both play the part well with all the confusion going on before any enforcers or oathbearers can make it here being your in the lower ends of the hive that may take some time, if ever.

Josiah you feel a solid object in the man's pocket and pull it out. It's wrapped in a cloth. He doesn't appear to have anything else on him.

The man begins to go into shock while you "pretend" to be helping him.

What do you guys do?

Wounds: 10/10, FP: 1/1, TB: 5, Armour 2 (Arms, Legs and Chest)

Lazlo will make a show of telling people to stand back and letting the 'doctor' take care of the man. "Did anyone see him taking anything?" he asks of the crowd before leaning in with a stage whisper asking the doctor "Could it be another case of the bloodfire shakes you've been tracking Doctor." ...they could make some money from snake oil if they played this right.

Male Human (Cygnaran) Skilled Aristocrat/Pistolier

While still leaning over the man, Josiah slides whatever the object is into his jacket.

Some old first aid training comes to mind. Spire life could be deadly after all.

Medicae 36: 1d100 ⇒ 83
Both to try and save him, and to look good for the next bit.

In a voice that carries seemingly innocuously, Josiah musters up for a spirited sounding reply.

"It's bloodfire shakes and no doubt! I'll try the blessed water but it may be too late for this poor soul!"

He then unscrews a bottle and dribbles a little water into the man's eye sockets.

Deceive 41: 1d100 ⇒ 27

The claws dig into Sirus flesh rending flesh causing a lot of damage!

You guys are up!
Shakes don't forget your psychic powers if you wish to attempt them :)

Josiah Graves & Lil Lazlo

You both put on a grand performance but the hivers seem to be to distracted by the face this person ripped out his own eyes right here on the streets. You hear noise from away as it appears official may be coming this way, most likely some sanctionites...

Hearing the soulless minions of orthodoxy enroute Lazlo says "You've done your best Doctor. Emperor take his soul, if only he had sought you out perhaps his life could have been spared from this truly terrible and painful disease!"

Assisting Graves with any deceive checks.

Male Human (Cygnaran) Skilled Aristocrat/Pistolier

"He didn't even know he was infected before it was too late, so sad. We must be on our way, to find others in need."

Sirus Mechanicus & Shakes

Sirus onslaught of overcharged shots appear to damage the creature and then it combusts into flames screeching something horrible as it turns tail and runs back through the tunnels from which it came...

Do you pursue or let it go?

Josiah Graves & Lil Lazlo

You make your leave before any officials arrive the crowd parting for you as you make your way out of the area. You can hear the sounds of banging behind you as the othbearers are probably banging their weapons on shields to disperse the crowd to take control.

You find a nice quite spot to digest what just happened...

Wounds:5/12 Crit 0 | Fate 3/3 | Currently: fatigue0 | insanity 0 corr 15

Sirus makes no move to pursue. Let's get this material to a secure location. At least I won't go back empty handed. I wonder if that manner of mutant monstrosity is the reason for the slowdown in shipments.

Wounds: 10/10, FP: 1/1, TB: 5, Armour 2 (Arms, Legs and Chest)

"Any idea what was really wrong with him? Did you find anything good? Maybe you'll get asked to do a few house calls and earn a few credits as people panic."

Male Human (Cygnaran) Skilled Aristocrat/Pistolier

Josiah's eyes dart around, making doubly sure that no one else is watching, before he replies.

"Madness. I couldn't say for sure if it was drugs, witchcraft, or bad luck." Or something inside him, that wanted to get out.

"But I did get something."

With that, Josiah slides out the cloth-covered package from his jacket.

"Let's see what the sole possession of a crazed uphiver is." Irony.

And begins to unwrap the cloth to have a look.

Wounds: 10/10, FP: 1/1, TB: 5, Armour 2 (Arms, Legs and Chest)

"If this is mold paste I'm going to be disappointed." Lazlo leans in to see their prize unveiled.

Josiah Graves & Lil Lazlo

Josiah pulls out the items wrapped in a dirty cloth and unravels it. It is a perfectly smooth black orb, heavy and cold to the touch, about the size of a clenched fist.

Sirus Mechanicus & Shakes

The creature does not return and you both gather what you can and head back up. Sirius is heavily damaged from the creatures foul claws and you feel the pain in you flesh bother you as the adrenaline of the fight wears off.

Wounds: 10/10, FP: 1/1, TB: 5, Armour 2 (Arms, Legs and Chest)

He peers down at the curious looking tiny orb. "Some kind of valuable gem or do you thinking it might be just some trinket?" Lazlo pokes at it with his finger. "It's cold, you wouldn't think it would be cold being in his pocket. Maybe it's the drug he was taking, a tablet like... if it is I've not seen it's like before."

Wounds:5/12 Crit 0 | Fate 3/3 | Currently: fatigue0 | insanity 0 corr 15

Sirus grumbles to himself as he walks. The flesh was so weak. He really needs all of that extraneous crap replaced. He heads back toward the lift to get the ore somewhere secure.

Male Human (Cygnaran) Skilled Aristocrat/Pistolier

"It's a little large for a tablet. Some curio? Might be a gemstone alright, but not one I've seen before."

Josiah thumbs the orb, scratching his beard with the other thumb, thinking hard.

"There must be a fence who can move this. If one uphiver has it, another will want it."

CL underhive, Base 36: 1d100 ⇒ 11 To think of suitable fences.

Shake takes a few deep breaths as the energies from the warp dissipates from his being although he has summoned fire there is only the cold lonely feeling of emptyiness that clothed him. Shakes reloads that one shot he fired off checking for signs of any more dangers.

"by the @$$ seat of the emperor, the *bleep* was that???"

shakes follows sirus... staring at his wounds

" you look terrible.... are you going to make it?"

Wounds:5/12 Crit 0 | Fate 3/3 | Currently: fatigue0 | insanity 0 corr 15

Sirus limps along under his load of ore. His leg screams in pain. He put forth his utmost effort to ignore it.
"I have no idea what that was. This deep down you oftentimes don't.
My leg is damaged, yes. But I'll be fine. I really wish I could find a decent Medicaid Mechadendrite. Then I could fix myself up."

Shakes probably assumes he means he would heal himself. That's not what he means.

"what do you plan to do with all that ore? Was this really worth your life?"

shakes continues to press on scanning vigorously for danger

Wounds:5/12 Crit 0 | Fate 3/3 | Currently: fatigue0 | insanity 0 corr 15

"I plan to turn it in for creds. Honestly, I'm flat broke and this is the only way to fix that situation. I'm actually looking for what has caused the regular shipments of this stuff to stop, but this should at least soften the blow if I fail."

Josiah Graves & Lil Lazlo

Josiah you can think of one location that you may be able to sell an object like this. A bit of a black market dealer you have heard of and know where his shop is in the Underhive. Will take you both a bit to get down there but what else could be more pleasurable than taking a stroll through the gutters of the hive!

Sirus Mechanicus & Shakes

You both finally make your ways out of the mining area without any additional trouble. The creature was surely disturbing and probably the reason no one else was down there.

Any pit stops, perhaps medical treatment before you head up to the drop off location to get your creds?

Male Human (Cygnaran) Skilled Aristocrat/Pistolier

Josiah suddenly perks up a bit.

"There's a guy I know of that's further downhive. He does black market stuff, best bet I can think of to shift this thing."

He licks his lips nervously.

Wounds: 10/10, FP: 1/1, TB: 5, Armour 2 (Arms, Legs and Chest)

"Best for us to get under way anyway, before someone starts looking for you doctor." Lazlo get's up and starts getting his things ready to go.

Wounds:5/12 Crit 0 | Fate 3/3 | Currently: fatigue0 | insanity 0 corr 15

If treatment can be had for is than 15 creds then yes. I don't have a strong feel for the value of the currency yet.

As Sirus makes his way back (possibly via a medical plaza), something works is way through the pain. Something off. He asks,
"How do you suppose that thing burst into flame? It didn't look flammable and my shots didn't did it."

Shakes looks at as if he puzzled and looking for a solution.

"I have no idea, I mean that creature is unlike anything i have seen before and the tunnels could be toxic with gas pockets." "

shakes tries to divert the conversation

"that thing looked filthy, you need to have those wounds cleaned. You never know what kind of dieases that thing is carrying"

Wounds:5/12 Crit 0 | Fate 3/3 | Currently: fatigue0 | insanity 0 corr 15

Sirus nods, but looks unconvinced of the reason for the flames. Thankfully, he doesn't push the issue.
"You're probably right. Let's see what I can get for 15 creds."

Josiah Graves & Lil Lazlo

The way down is pretty uneventful but long. About 2 hours later Josiah stops dead in his tracks standing still.

Josiah make a Fear check +0 please

Josiah:
Suddenly you experiences a brief vision, like a waking dream, of a vast and barren alien landscape, studded with massive and bizarre structures.

Sirus Mechanicus & Shakes

Finding a cheap apothecary down here is probably not THAT hard. You come to a place that appears to be filled with more disease than a medical facility should have but it's the best you can find with what you have. The apothecary looks over Sirus wounds and mutters to himself something unintelligible.

He pulls out some liquids, scalpel and bandages and does what he can with the wounds.

medicae: 1d100 ⇒ 31

You hand the man 5 credits and he urges you both to leave without saying much and your back on your way to get the credits your due for your work...
