WC Map

Actually, Pele, you have to fly 15-20' forward in order to be in the 250' range. Also your spell damage is incorrect I believe.
Magic missile damage was 21, empowered to 31 and +7 for intense spells = 38.

To move things along, we will say Gideon delays or moves up to stay next to Pele and his protective Circle; he can change it upon posting. Rothgar delivers another powerful blow to the tree (49 after fast healing) and Pele's missiles penetrate its SR, and burn more pieces off. Despite taking a total of 229 damage, the tree looks fairly solid still.

Round 5:
The Doomshroud again concentrates on eliminating the dwarf before focusing on the newcomers. The dwarf dodges the first, but the second one nearly plants him in the soil and the monk spits up blood, as that one clearly shattered ribs. Rothgar does not think he can take one more like that one!

Spells A lillend casts spells as a 7th-level bard. They favor enchantment and healing spells.

Gideon, you are battling creatures way above your CR. Your role is to buff and heal and support. I am sure Rothgar would have appreciated a Bless spell, as that would have helped him hit last round. When you fight undead, you will shine.

Okay, Gideon is past the 24 hour mark with no post, so he delays.

The creature rushing the party leaps from out of the ground, revealing itself to be a bulette, confirming the mage's suspicions, but this is like no bulette he has ever seen or heard of, perhaps only in legends, as this beast is gargantuan! As it leaps in the air, it comes down adjacent with its four claws on the party, two on Rothgar and two on Gideon!

Claw vs. Rothgar: 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (10) + 20 = 30...miss

Party is up against this massive monstrosity! Please note that it has 15' reach so if you charge Flizz, you will be provoke an AoO from its bite...you have been warned!

Rothgar sidesteps the beast's two attacks and moves to flank with Gideon. "You have fallen into my trap, landshark!" With this the dwarven monk focuses and then unleashes a flurry of blows, hasting himself in the process with his boots! 6 of 10 rounds used today.

Okay, thank goodness, we're not fighting any more plants! The first blow is a Stunning Fist (DC 25 Fort save). If it fails (you never know), per Medusa's wrath, I get two more attacks on a full-attack action against the bulette. Also using 1 point of ki for extra attack. If not stunned, ignore blows 2 and 3.

No need to use boots - Pele cast haste on first round before flying up in the air

Awesome, even better. 5 rounds used today then.

The bulette's AC is 29, so the Mage's Force Sword crits.
Fort save vs. Stun effect: 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (3) + 19 = 22

The mage's sword deals a powerful blow to the armored bulette, but it feels supremely confident in its ability to eat the invaders on its territory. That is...until the dwarf's turn...with the first punch in its eye, it is in trouble unable to focus on anything due to the pain..it just feels the dwarf's speed and strength behind each blow, as more and more of its armored plates and then ribs and bones fall before the might of the dwarf's punches...until it shatters the bulette's spine and still the dwarf continues to wail away....until only the shattered corpse of the bulette remains, the majority of its bones broken away....

OMG...10 attacks in a round! What a waste of time spent advancing that bulette to CR 16 when the dwarf just did 241 damage alone to it in single round. Kudos!

Thank you..I am here all day! ;) 10 attacks...he was a blur!

"Thank you for the aid, Pele. This demiplane the druids have set up is pretty dangerous and definitely not boring. I say Gideon should heal himself and let us move, else we draw bigger predators. We should continue to the Vale."

"Well, I was hardly expecting that to go so smoothly. I can see why you hold the position you do, at your monastery. Well done, indeed."
