Bug the bear tries to eat the big spider because that is what Bug the bear does. Spider are bad, especially nasty 'keep those who need to sleep awake' spiders, cause there is nothing worse than a bad night sleeps. In Bug's point of view at least.
Aggah agrees since Bug the bear is one of her favorite creatures she has ever seen, which might have to do cause she is tired nad Bug's fur looks like the most comfortable thing she's ever seen. No matter, they are on the same wavelength so she sends arrows by the dozen (divided by six) at the same spider.

DM TreasureFox
Bug the bear is summoned and immediately goes into a flurry of claws and fangs. Though two attacks miss, Bug successfully snags the large spider in its paw. Aggah then uses haste to its full effect, launching more arrows than any Goblin has before. With three shots, she fells the spider and Bug drops it to the ground.
Furnok and Kemras work on the other spider, hurting it significantly. Jakardros even manages to cut off a leg, but he's distracted for his second attack when he's bonked by the flail snail next to him.
The spider tries again to wrap Furnok in webbing, but same as last time, Furnok deflects it with his cutlass.
Wabbit can't feel the effects of the venom anymore. It seems to have been destroyed thanks to Chaldira's protection.

The last spider dies after Furnok drives his cutlass deep into the monster's skull. Their bodies slowly dissolve into a green sludge on the floor. During that time, the party work on releasing Wabbit from his bindings. The Halfling is mostly okay.
Kaven is dead. Rigor mortis has already set in.
Wabbit the Paladin of Chaldira
AAARRRRGGGHHHH! Get this damn webbing offa me Wabbit struggles and with everyone help he gets loose. Wabbit HATES being grappled/tied up. I Hate spiders!
Once loose and noticing Kaven He's gone isn't he Cleo?
Cleo Gingerberry
Cleo is kneeling beside the man with his hand in hers. Sadly she looks up at her cousin and nods. Softly she starts to pray, hoping he finds the peace he was denied in life.
Kemras Iuvescanu
Kemras is silent as he stares down at Kaven's corpse, trying to sort through the feelings that surge through him. Kaven... you... His face hardens. I'll figure it out later. Right now, we need to deal with the damned fortress.
When he speaks, it is in a low, cold voice. "We should prepare our spells for today and get ready to wipe this place clean of all its monsters."
DM TreasureFox
Jakardros grimaces, but the man has already seen so many of his companions die horrible deaths. "Whatever you decide to do, I'll follow. I don't care if I die, but I'd want to take another Ogre with me on the way out." He coats his billhook in the green sludge, just in case it might do something. "I'm the last one. Unless the commander survived."
Wabbit the Paladin of Chaldira
I think we slept the full night. Although it was a fitful sleep for most of us. @Fox did the spellcasters sleep enough to regain spells? If so, there's no need for us to leave the Fort and we can mount a new attack on the Ogres and Giant
DM TreasureFox
Everyone except Wabbit and Kemras
You all take 6 points of damage, and you do not get any healing or benefits from resting 6 hours. Further, you must make a DC15 Fortitude saving throw or become fatigued and take an additional -1 against sleep effects.
Cleo and Aggah made their saves. Furnok and Bacon didn't make saves yet. Jakardros failed his save.
Cleo does not need sleep to regain and prepare her spells. I don't recall about rangers though.
Kemras Iuvescanu
I'll get a spell list together soon, then.
Wabbit the Paladin of Chaldira
is everyone in shape to continue?
if so
Well if everyone's regained their spells and is ready to go let's get started. I'm thinking since the north secret door is no longer secret we should use the southern secret door by where we set the fire. Let's peek outa that one and see if we can see anything, like have any reinforcements arrived etc...Sound good? We can give Kaven a proper burial after we clear out the Fort today.
Cleo Gingerberry
I need to pick ou ther spells for the day, but otherwise yes, ready to go.
Cleo folds the man's hands together and cleans him up a bit, then moves off to complete her prays for the day. "A good plan." she agrees simply when she is done.
Kemras Iuvescanu
"Yes." Kemras says, his tone oddly flat and calm. "I agree, but let me take a quick peek out myself before we all go rushing out. You're not exactly... sneaky." He tilts his head apologetically at the others.
I need to choose spells, myself. I'll hopefully get to it tomorrow.
DM TreasureFox
Kemras takes a quick look outside. He sees that the New Barracks has finally turned into smouldering embers amongst a huge pile of ash. Beyond, the dead are being eaten by all manner of scavengers. The majority of which are crows and ravens, but a giant vulture is eating primarily the undead bodies, while a grizzly bear scavenges the dead. The amount of cawing and squabbling could drive someone mad.
Kemras Iuvescanu
Knowledge (nature) Giant Vulture, Free Inspiration: 1d20 + 12 + 1d6 ⇒ (3) + 12 + (3) = 18
Kemras brings his report back to the others. "I didn't see anything obviously sapient, though there is a vulture that's eating solely the corpses of the undead, and a grizzly bear that's eating the others. The first one might be something more... alarming, I suppose." His voice remains deadly calm.
Cleo Gingerberry
Cleo will try and think as well.
nature: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 19
DM TreasureFox
Both Cleo and Kemras know that the Giant Vulture is a non-magical animal. That being said, a flying animal that is 13 feet tall and has a wingspan of over 30 feet is not to be taken lightly. Vultures are scavengers by nature, and the Giant Vulture is no different. They eat carrion from all manner of creatures, and are one of the very few scavengers capable of consuming undead flesh without negative impact. They do not hunt living creatures unless their target is already on the verge of death. Vultures often urinate on themselves, and vomit on anyone trying to steal their meal. When up against a veritable threat, vultures will abandon their food and take to the skies, where they will either wait out the threat or move on.
Mechanically, this is a Large sized animal. Some scavengers that eat undead flesh can turn into undead themselves (Cleo, Furnok, and Wabbit can remember the undead crows from Foxglove's mansion). Vultures are immune to this due to their incredibly specialized stomachs and their natural ability to resist diseases. They have a vomit attack that deals acid damage and can blind the character. They do not attack on sight, and a successful intimidate check can force them to flee.
Kemras Iuvescanu
"It does seem likely that they won't attack unless we threaten their meals, as well." Kemras adds softly, his icy eyes peering out the door again.
Wabbit the Paladin of Chaldira
Maybe if we leave their food alone they'll leave us alone.
Is there a path where we can avoid the bear and vulture and make our way into the fort?
Cleo Gingerberry
Cleo's eyes grow wide for one moment before they narrow in the ranger's general direction. "And when do you start speaking Bird?" Aggah looks rather worried and may or may not have pointed her lovely bow at the vulture and then the ranger and then back. Just in case the attack comes from either direction.
:)
DM TreasureFox
Wabbit thinks it would be difficult, but those who want to go past could sneak by the animals. Furnok also happens to be fairly good at calming the animals, and Kemras/Cleo are very knowledgeable about their abilities and dispositions.
Furnok's ability to read the body language of the giant vulture makes it possible for the group to walk around it, giving it a wide berth. Two more challenges present themselves: The grizzly bear, and the murder of crows.
Kemras Iuvescanu
"Haunted mansion?" Kemras asks, before waving a hand. "Never mind. Not important now. Will they attack, if they are?"
Cleo Gingerberry
Cleo shudders a bit at the memory of what happened in THAT HOUSE. "if they are eating undead flesh and have had time to be corrupted... yes."
Wabbit the Paladin of Chaldira
How about you guys with bows just start shooting the crows from a safe spot before we try making it past the vulture and bear? Wabbit says wanting to eliminate one source of danger if possible
Kemras Iuvescanu
"It might anger them - or at least disrupt their meal, which would probably disturb them." Kemras points out, though he does draw his bow from his shoulder.
Wabbit the Paladin of Chaldira

Well...we could leave them alone and try sneaking past, but we didn't like undead munching crows the last time we encountered them, I don't have high hopes for this time either. I'd rather piss them off and have them fly over and attack us where we don't have to worry about the vulture or bear at the same time. If they're normal crows they'll be pissed off, fly away and return to their meal once we've passed
Cleo Gingerberry
"Okay. We can try." Cleo looks a little worried but stows her shield and pulls her bow. Aggah is drawing and firing with a anti-bird glee in her eyes.

sorry copied the wrong first line. That one was supposed to be Cleo and then two shots from Aggah, but am fine with Cleo taking too long and Aggah doing it all
Kemras Iuvescanu
"Leave well enough alone, I agree." Kemras says, still not wholly sure what to make of his companions.
Cleo Gingerberry
"We're just going to go around you, not disturb your meal at all." Cleo tells the bear in Bear growls that sounds vaguely wookie like (whatever those things are).
DM TreasureFox
Cleo is more than diplomatic enough to convince the bear that it won't be disturbed. The bear continues its snack, allowing the group to carefully traverse the scavenging area.
Now the group reaches the destroyed gate of the keep proper. Wabbit, Furnok, and Kemras have climbed this wall of rubble previously, and saw a Hill Giant sitting on the other side. This time, though, the giant saw something.
"Birds just flew. Someone disturbed em."
A groan is heard as the giant stands up. What does the group do?
