Figaro Wisk |

Figaro seemed to get excited for s second before looking around at the group and trying to hide his excitement as he grabs a few fruits and bottles, placing them in his bag.
Bluff: 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (19) - 2 = 17
He then started back up the ladder and waited above with Qiu giving him a warm smile and a wink.

Syntriani |

Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18
Syntriani breathes into Wisk's ear, "Save that for tonight." 8^)
To the rest of the group, she says, "Okay, so no loot, but supplies could be valuable. I don't think I need anything, but everybody stock up."
She'll also take notes on where this ruin is located, possibly a crude map to keep in her pack, so we can find it again.

Figaro Wisk |

For seemingly no reason Figaro seemed to be distracted many a time and his face, small patches of dark blue around the cheeks.
He assists Syn with the make making, as drawing was a specialty.. considering his lack of ability to speak.

Figaro Wisk |

Once they had resupplied Figaro inspected the rest of the building before going back outside to check on the horses. He prepared them for the rest of the trip to their destination. Fairly sure the map was adequate.

Voice of Awesomeness |

By the time the group stocks up, and better hides the trap door, it is about three in the afternoon. While heading out and trying to and cover as much ground as possible before making camp is a good idea, there is no guarntee a safe spot will be found.
As the group decides if they should move on or not, Figaro's stomach growls, quite loudly, and he realizes that whiskey should probably be tasted, a time or three, to make sure its of good quality.

Syntriani |

"So, are we heading out? It's mid-afternoon. I'm fine with sleeping under the stars, but this would make a good camp site. All in favor of heading out?" Syn raises her hand.

Figaro Wisk |

Wisk places his hand immediately up when Syn raises hers. Somehow, however, he hand one of the bottles up to his mouth and took a few swigs.. for quality purposes you are sure. He noted, it was not a 'special' blend he planned on for.. later.

Figaro Wisk |

Figaro's arms got tired after a while the post was quite well made and at least when they would travel it could be used later for shelter and perhaps storage with the secret compartment. His mind drifted in and out however as the pleasant buzz from the sampling warmed his face.

Noyata Sanobi |

sry, this dropped from my to do list somehow.
Sanobi watches Wisk take a drink, "So Whiskey with the great Sanobi. Time to eat! And time to go too."
Sanobi pulls out some food stuffs and prepares herself a meal, interestingly enough, she pulls out stuff and wraps it so she can eat while riding, and then she gets on her horse.

Figaro Wisk |

Yeah sometimes the site does that for weird reasons but dont feel bad its a more casual game it seems, so not Hardcore. This is also around the holidays so people do't post in other games as often
Figaro nodded as they saddled up to leave. he looked over at Sanobi's food with hunger as she ate but tried to hide it from time to time.

Qiu Loutsa |

Qiu grabs all of the elven trail rations, spell components he can find and shortly joins the rest of the group.
After saddling up, rolling his eyes over 'Whiskey' Living up to his name. Qiu reviews his spell book and waits for the rest of the group.

Syntriani |

Syn mounts up, sidles up to Figaro and hands him a small loaf of bread, nonchalantly taking a pull from his bottle in the process. She leans in and whispers to him, "Not too much right now, let's keep our heads out in the wild."

Figaro Wisk |

Figaro tenses up when Syn naturally gets close and in that time takes the bottle much to his confused-enjoyment/dismay. He nods and gives a smile to her advance and advice. he then downed the loaf of bread with Gusto as they rode on.

Figaro Wisk |

As they rode Figaro's urge to drink grew and grew and he started to take the face of someone who was highly parched though he needed no water. It was desire that drove him but he held back for now. looking over the landscape a they traveled was beautiful and doing so with comrades was the most enjoyable portion. The wind lowing along with his form made the mute Slyph forget he was unable to speak for a moment.

Sorry guys, my posting lately in all games has been sporadic at best. Lets get you something fun to do
As the group makes their way across the dessert, they spot some sort of dig team a good hundred feet away from them.
Perception checks, please
1d100 ⇒ 57

Figaro Wisk |

Don't worry about it, this group is relatively lax but I enjoy the interaction between characters. Some activity is never unappreciated however.
Figaro looks to the dig team with a curious raise of the eyebrow and pointed them out to the rest if they could not notice.
Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (17) + 8 = 25

Qiu Loutsa |

Yay high rolls! And I am willing to be the first to admit I'm horrible at consistent posting in this game.
Qiu, glad the group had finally set off, spent most of his time munching on some of the elven trail rations he'd found and trying not to get too queasy on the ever moving horse.
Perception: 1d20 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (16) + 4 + 1 = 21
Alerted by the gaunt looking Wisk, Qiu finally spends a moment looking at the road.

Syntriani |

Sense Motive (untrained): 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 1 = 21
Picking up on Whiskey's body language, Syn spurs her horse to catch up with him, loosening the fasteners on her daggers as she does.
Ride (untrained): 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (14) + 3 = 17 - if needed.

Noyata Sanobi |

Sorry about falling behind, and forgetting to post about it. The new contract is being sticky. Haven't even had a chance to study for my midterms, much less games.
Nayota casts Haunted Fey Aspect, and yells with all the bravado she can muster, (not that it takes any effort on her part. It just comes naturally to her) "I am The Great and Powerful Sanobi! Attack at your own peril!" She starts laughing maniacally as she charges forward.

Voice of Awesomeness |

Gonna roll Initiative for Sanobi
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (10) + 3 = 13
Goblins go first
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24 vs AC 11, hit for 1d4 ⇒ 3
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11 vs AC 14, miss.
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10 vs AC 14, miss.
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (15) + 7 = 22 vs AC 10, hit for 1d4 ⇒ 4
Four of the goblins fire off arrows at the party, with one just a bit too far away. Sanobi and Qiu both get hit 3 & 4 dmg respectively, while the other two arrows go whizzing by Fig and Syn.

Figaro Wisk |

Forgot my AC is actually the same.. oh well
Figaro charges one of the goblins swinging his Meteor Hammer over his head in a wide arch and slamming down, His eyes focus greatly as the adrenaline starts pumping.
Raging Come' On and Slam Jam: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (8) + 10 = 181d8 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13
Meteor Hammer in Fortress Mode; Reah +1 Shield Bonus, AC is 16 after charge, 18 against Ranged attacks

Noyata Sanobi |

Please don't fall into that trap. Combat starts when one recognizes potential enemies. It doesn't start the first round to include an attack roll. That is a poorly worded (and not thought out) rule. An example of why your reading of it doesn't make sense. A character is in an arena in a defensive stance across from an opponent 30' away, waiting on the bell to attack. Do you honestly think that character should get treated as though she didn't know about her attacker?

Figaro Wisk |

In that particular case neither side would be Flat footed.. Unless on person was invisible or hiding. However in both cases for your attacks.. they would have hit anyway

Voice of Awesomeness |

This is the definition of Flat-Footed AC from the SRD glossary:
Flat-Footed: A character who has not yet acted during a combat is flat-footed, unable to react normally to the situation. A flat-footed character loses his Dexterity bonus to AC (if any) and cannot make attacks of opportunity.
Thus, with the Goblins going first, you are all treated as having FF AC. If one of you beat their initiative, whichever one you attacked would be resolved vs it's FF AC.

Noyata Sanobi |

Here is the sticky part, "unable to act normally." What part of walking up to someone knowing they might be enemies means you can't act normally? Flat footed was brought over from DnD where it represented being caught unaware. Often the surprise round included being flat footed because one side would catch the other by surprise. When Paizo rewrote everything, they obviously lost sight of what flat footed really represents. There is also the issue of "first round of combat" which is not defined in the rules. The simplest solution to this idiocy, which may just be poor writing if it is the assumption of the designers to begin with, is to define the start of combat as when the character becomes aware of potential enemies. Using this definition of the start of combat, either the PCs get ambushed, becoming aware of enemies due to being attacked (where starting flat footed makes sense), or the PCs become aware of opponents (or think enemies may be near) before the enemies can attack, and thus the chance for enemies to catch them flat footed is lost."
Sanobi uses her vanish spell, appearing to disappear when struck. She rushes up and around to one side to reappear closer and coming from a different direction.

Qiu Loutsa |

Qiu rolls off his horse. He then in the shadows utters a short arcane sentence, pulling his and the near by shadows into a tight-fitting armor.
Casting shield, gaining cover and risking the horse. Hmm, maybe not the best idea...
And, for Qiu, flat-footed or not that attack would have hit.

Figaro Wisk |

Yeah that was the situation this time so it was moot but I can see the precedent being set early rather than later. Regardless, With Qiu having gone it is the Kobolds' turns. They might want to start going for the Silent killer with the spinning Hammer
