Does the improved fortitude bonus emulate the great fortitude feat, +2 fort saves?
My mistake, it was ment to be greater fortitude. I got confuziled.
Firearms.... Are exotic, if you are a tinkerer, or say, a shopkeep with extrenely exotic ties, or that eccentric dude claiming this is the next biggest thing after the wheel, yeah.

Valen was once a peaceful settlement, just a quaint little backwater out in the middle of nowhere. This all changed when the bandits arrived, they made life miserable either with the constant raids they made or with the "taxes" they demanded so that they would not come and "visit".
Gustavus Svensson, a failed military cadet from the Kingdom of Švédsko to the far north heard of this and investigated Valen himself. He judged that Valen's problems with bandits was not related to the strength of the bandits but rather the ineptitude of the guard...
They were slovenly, undisciplined, at best they drilled once a month and they didn't even bother to take of their weapons... It was no wonder that a bunch of bandits were beating them to pulp.
Gustavus pulled some strings and was sent forty muskets, forty uniforms and forty bayonets in addition to a fair amount of blackpowder and shot. In addition to this he also brought along his half brother, Adolphus Svensson a skilled gunsmith.
When he arrived in Valen he found that he had to virtually do nothing to gain the position of Guard Captain, the locals were sick and tired of the current one. When they saw Gustavus ride in with his shiny, military uniform and his finely made (ornate) pistol he got the job.
Since then he has instituted many changes, the guard now numbers forty and have been drilling everyday (Gustavus is doing this until he judges them fully changed, then it will become a two times a week thing). They have mastered the musket and are currently being trained to use the bayonet...
The bandits being lazy, slovenly creatures post no scouts to watch the village are due to arrive again to collect tribute in another week... By that time the guard should be fully prepared...
One may ask why Gustavus has come to this backwater with his brother, the answer is opportunity. No where else could Gustavus Svenson, a military academy washout become guard captain. In a small town like Valen Gustavus is no longer just a washout, no he is something akin to a minor celebrity...
Could I use this (looking to make a Gunslinging Cavalier) https://mcarchetype.wikispaces.com/Cavalry+Gunman?
Also your thoughts on Gustavus?

I'll be the Mayor.
Rory Bronson had a natural commanding presence that meant that the decision-making a group had to do usually came to him by default. It had been that way ever since he was a little boy among his friends. To command the respect of his peers when he was younger, he was sweet to adult women, quiet around adult men, and forceful everywhere else. When he became an adult himself, he found that even many of the town's elders listened to his ideas about how things should be done. If there's one thing Rory Bronson never lacked for, it was an opinion on how something should be done.
Now, as Mayor and with his wife, Kate, looking after him, he's learning more and more that others must have their say as well. His former bossy ways will no longer suit him in his noble occupation as leader of the town.
Alex L. Armstrong (with different hair color)?
^ reading this, I can understand why I tend to suck in recruitment threads.

@viluki, at first I was going to veto the firearms thing, especially that many. But, I am almost intrigued. While at first I was going to possibly allow you the firearm, but have them to scarce for the others, however, I see a bit of potential here.
I think I will have this- one table Will have early firearms commom, advanced nonexistent, tbr other will be the norm rare/excotix early firearms. Either way. You only need about 20 rifles for the town, that includes a few spares. Also. If you wish, you may swap power attack for deadly aim, as long as you meet the prerequisite.

@Alex G St.Amand - very similar in appearance and personality to the Strong-Arm Alchemist, yes, he was a major inspiration for my character. So was Braum, a character in League of Legends.
As Mayor it'd be part of my duties to work with various members of the townsfolk, so here are some of the pre-campaign bonds my character would have with other characters:
I hired Gustavus Svensson and watched him transform our sloppy guards into a trained cadre. I respect his opinion on matters of defense.
I know a little of Old Eral's sad history, and I show him pity and support whenever I can. The same goes for Niston Llewellyn, though I trust him a little less for his silver tongue.
Bert Weathersby is a respected woodsman of the town, the kind of man I would come to regarding matters of the surrounding environment.
I don't trust David Cress at all - and I'm wary of Videhsi Atma.
Kenna Breac is always kind and polite whenever I visit the tavern for a meal.

Bannock
|
(Priest-adapt character of Atlas2112)
Bannock happily completed the afternoon ritual of Plentiful Harvest, and was beginning the preparations for the evening prayers when a shadow of the past crossed his face.
Perhaps, he admitted to himself, it was not the best idea to leave the Order before completing his training. Perhaps it hadn't been smart to opening declare himself no longer of the Order of Torag. Perhaps his language with High Priest Stonebreaker could have been worded more...tactfully.
But that was not his way. Not since that day.... The book had seemed so innocent. The afternoon's reading of other deities. Just for the sake of general knowledge. And then he read about...her.
She had been so wronged. She had given up so much. She deserved so much better than the fate Orcus had given her.
And then he saw her symbol--a kite shield of purest white, which matched the mark on his hand he'd had from birth.
He knew he had a purpose. He knew what his destiny was.
As he gathered his things, Chief Acolyte Ironhand had stopped and asked him if he was sure. Of course he was. He mentioned, lastly, of a small village that needed someone, anyone, of faith, since bandits had killed that last priest, and none had been...-brave-...enough to step in. Such an opportunity seemed reasonable and Bannock agreed to take the position, however temporarily. After, he was young, quite young, not even with a proper beard, and some time bringing this Glory to others would not be time wasted.
So Bannock swore to bide his time, and study his book of Orcish.
Because when he killed Hel, he wanted her to Understand.
His god was dead.
And was going to bring her back.
Just like the wheat seed must spread to grow, so it was time to reveal his fate to someone. Perhaps Mayor Bronson would understand....
All PCs up!

Atlas2112's top 5 flu cures! (that you already knew):
1) When people say "push fluids" they're not saying 'drink when you're thirsty,' they're saying 'drink, even when not thirsty.' The flu turns off your normal sensations, and your body needs extra fluid to cycle everything through. Remember this easy equation: Half your body weight in pounds, in ounces.
2) Chicken soup actually works. They don't know why.
3) Echinacea does not work. They do know why.
4) Vitamin C is nice, but don't OD because it's better as a preventer, and less as a fighter(and too much Vit C gives you diarrhea). Take your Vit C, but make sure to take E with it, because they have synergistic effects.
5) Zinc, magnesium, silver. The first two are usually found in multivitamins, so make sure your multi has them. The second can be easily found in most dwearven mines...or also in easily drop form at a fine GNC near you! =)

I'm doin' good. Merry Christmas everyone.
The way I understand it, The Two Tables represent the same realities, just two different locals, and two different people, even two different nations. At some point we'll be working for different goals, with one group either trying to undo, or stop, the other.
