I'm going to say no. ^^ For entertainment reasons all my own, and because I don't want you to have the low-down on events before they unfold for the rest of the party.

Wait until we get inside, you'll be plenty entertained then.

Anyway, I'd thought I'd expand on Garra's background a bit. She's from the Realm of the Mammoth Lords, and only learned common a couple of years ago when she left, but has a decent command of it. She has been having a rough time adapting, and doesn't really understand the concept of money, although she's not that naive. Needless to say, A fresh barbarian coming into a noble's house is going to cause issues. Here's hoping the butler is the prissy type. :D

Regarding the TRIPLE SPEAKING post:

How it all got started: Gavin offered his arm to Astrea and she took it.

Astrea's objectives:
A) Prevent herself from getting fired for 'fraternizing' with a rival family.
B) Turn the 'arm taking' incident from a detriment to an advantage.
C) Knock Chalmer down a few notches.

Points she made/insinuated in the post:
1) Gavin is representing the Crown - dishonor him and you dishonor yourself, the King, and Country.
2) Gavin asks to be let into the house so that he may fulfill his duty, and clearly communicated the king's wishes. Chalmer is stalling with his snide 'entourage' antics.
3) A situation came up where Astrea ended up taking Gavin's arm.

Extrapolation:
1) and 2) taken together means that Chalmer has just dishonored the Dulaponts, the King, and Country. Objective C) accomplished.

Regarding 3): When a man representing the Crown asks you to take his arm, you do it unless you want to dishonor the King and Country. Even if Astrea did not know that Gavin was under the king's orders at the time, her politeness still caused her to do the right thing by taking his arm - unknowingly dishonoring the King is still dishonoring the King. If Chalmer fires her because of this, it would be like telling everyone that he fired Astrea because she was following the orders of the King's representative and preserving the honor of the Crown. Objective A) and B) accomplished.

On all 3 points: As head butler, he should've realized this as soon as Gavin revealed to him that he was here under the King's orders. Objective C) accomplished.

Secret Message: Despite all of the above, Astrea would like a backup option and that is where you come in Gavin. Try to help her get out of trouble.

And it is ok Gavin, Astrea will still take your arm next time. :)

Not really, but she is definitely not happy about that.

And Tik just gained a good bit of respect in Garra's eyes.

Wizards are to be feared. Wizards who have a backbone are to be respected.

(I do know that you're an Alchemist, but Garra sees most magic users as the same. The difference between a wizard and a witch in her mind is a witch will eat you after turning you into a toad.)

Adding a few thoughts:

By emphasizing Gavin's credentials and informing Chalmer that he should preserve the Dulapont's hospitality, Astrea provides a way for the head butler to recover from this blunder by simply do what a butler is supposed to do - treat the guests politely and invite everyone in.

Her entire strategy, however, hinges on the assumption that Chalmer or who ever is in charge still cares about the Dulapont's reputation.

Okay, I think I need to give you a heads up.

I've been having emotional and anxiety issues for a while now. I'm seeing a psychiatrist Wednesday, and hoping that I can get something working out. I'm okay, I'm not about to go kill myself. (I've experienced what that does to family left behind, and why I am very much against suicide.)

On top of this I've been having issues with my faith. I am a Christian, and I've been having a series of crises of faith for the past few months to a couple of years. I'm not like one of the WBC people. I do believe that pre-marital sex, pornography, and homosexuality are sins, but I'm not about to go around saying "God hates F$#!!" He doesn't and neither do I. The only difference between me and someone who's not a Christian is that I have asked for the forgiveness that God has already offered. I've been scared in the past to speak about this on these boards, especially when I see some of the comments in threads that talk about religion. I know I'm most likely in the minority here, but I'm hoping that you see me as the same person now as before. The only thing that's changed is I'm trying to be more honest. I'm trying to open up and let people see the whole picture, instead of the bits I try to keep polished.

I'm telling you all this because I had a bit of breakdown this evening, and an epiphany. I'm using this game, these boards, and my computer as an escape. I've built a wall around myself and I need to start tearing it down. I need to be honest with you and myself. I've done such a good job closing myself off, that I didn't realize what I was doing until tonight when I had to have a heart to heart with my mom.

I'm telling you this to let you know that my posting is probably going to drop, maybe even drastically. I don't want to cut any of the games I'm in, but that may mean the GM has to GMPC my character. I'm going to be going though a long process, and it may mean that I do have to drop games so I'm not crippling myself.

Anyway. I hope that you all understand and can bear with me while I get this mess sorted out. I'm okay. I just need to work through this.

You have to live your life the way you see as right.
Sometimes, that is going to cause conflicts, but that's just another part of life.
Focus on your well-being.

Yeah...good luck, Adam. Didn't you also just finish school? That's a lot to deal with at once.

Incidentally, I've been out of town for the past couple of days, at a meeting and visiting a bunch of friends. I won't be back home for another week, but should be able to keep up with things by phone.

I'm just waiting on Astrea before advancing you all to the dinner tabl -- er, the dining room. :p
