WT-516: Codename Sig |
Same here! Happy to be a part of this game. To all players I'm willing to have prior connection to any and all. Sig is looking for money for his cabal, and adventure to feed his spirit xD
Lyra Gillar |
Thank you for the invite to your game DM Ascension, I've made my alias and included links to my characters as PDFs, I'll finish my profile write up soon, just need to go out and vote before the polls close first! :D
Hideaki Taejin |
Thank you for the invite! I look forward to playing with you all, and maybe someone else can have met Taejin at some point in the past, while he traveled the Inner Sea dungeon diving.
Side note, I realized that I changed Taejin's history and not his build and I need to shuffle some points into Linguistics. Putting the languages as Thassilonian and Azlanti, because Inner Sea ruins seem to be predominately those two.
Sindri Quarrysson |
Hello everyone, thanks for you the pick, it couldn't of been easy. Planing on playing Sindri as a switch-hitter. Assassin for hire, doesn't break contracts and always upholds promises.
I plan on changing his backstory and putting more detail into it, as I feel it could be much better. Also need to update my profile with some more information, monsters I'd like to fight, etc. Can't wait to play with all of you.

Hello everyone, thanks for you the pick, it couldn't of been easy.
Picking is never fun. I hate having to leave people out.
It is not Golarion, though given that some back stories contain some reference to some part of Golarion, here are some updates I'll suggest for some tweaks to back story to fit the (current) local geography.
You may want to read what I'm posting for each player, as there are some possible tie in ideas, or it may spark some ideas of your own.
Hideaki: Travelled across the sea to Coran (instead of Absalom), a small coastal city where the mage tower know as the Tower of the Heavens resides. A secretive lot the mages are. They rule the city, but by and large keep their noses out of the day to day politics, leaving it to a locally elected magistrate - so long as the magistrate doesn't do anything that opposes the mages, or so the rumor goes. Aspis Consortium contacts do still exist in this world. There are a number of very ancient ruins in this part of the world. You could be using Coran, Gumlat, or Issust Hold as a base of operations. Issust Hold is to the south, a small port at the north end of an endless desert - at least none who have attempted to cross it have ever returned with news of the other side. Issust Hold is a rough place to hang out, pirates, thieves, slavery. The worst of human kind.
Lucius: Still originally from Golarion. Before shoving you through the planer portal, your head was covered and your hands bound. On the other side you felt solid stone beneath your boots, and felt as though you were in a large chamber. You were escorted by rough hands down a long set of stairs that spiraled in a slow clockwise direction, and through a door before feeling the heat of the sun on your skin on felt the humidity, and smelled the salt of the sea. The passing of people in the street reached your muffled ears and at last your bonds were loosed from your wrists. Your captors shoved you to the ground, then you heard the sound of retreating feet. Removing the covering from your head you've found yourself in the docks of Coran. Your gear, thankfully was not taken or disturbed. Possibly you've met Hideaki if he chooses Coran as his base of operations - up to the two of you of course.
Sindri: As a former slave, you spent a good deal of time working in the mines in Issust Hold (see my comments to Hideaki for a brief run down on Issust Hold). Upon escaping you would have fled either to Coran, or to the Ioso Islands (a set of 2 paradisiacal islands a weeks journey across the sea from Coran). Both would have allowed for you to train and hone your skills. You may have met Hideaki in Coran. You may have watched as three men dumped a bound and hooded Lucius at the docks then left him.
Lyra: You probably would have been traveling east for many days, feeling the draw of power from that direction, and have come across Gumlat in the midst of their troubles. Alternatively you've traveled down through the mountain passes of the Chaggath Spine, after spending a very brief time in Akleta on the north side of the spine - a small town of xenophobic humans - they may have run you out of town, or made it clear they didn't want your kind around, or something else equally unwelcoming. It was on the road through the mountain passes that Kaswor found you and recorded in his journal. [ooc]If you were traveling east and came upon Gumlat you would be having your first meeting with the other characters in Gumlat. If you came south from Akleta you may have stopped in Coran to resupply, and there heard about the goblin bounty, and met Hideaki, Lucius and/or Sindri in Coran or on the road.
Sig: Your people live nestled in a secluded spot of the Chaggath Spine north west of Gumlat. It is no surprise that the humans of Gumlat have had trouble with goblins - the creatures infest the mountains like a plague, and your clan has one more than one occasion dealt with small bands of would be raiders. Fortunately these have been few and far between, you suspect the goblins fear the strange nature of your people. Wyrwoods are not completely unknown to the people of Gumlat, but few in the small hamlet will willingly converse with your people on the rare visit that is made. You would be making your first meeting with the others in Gumlat.
Silas: The emerald monestary is northwest of Coran. There is some rivalry between the Tower of the Heavens and the monestary, though it has only once in recent history come to any kind of bloodshed. The mages of the tower have more might and resources, but the mountains protected the monestary from conventional warfare, and neither side has wanted to engage in a war of magic - as it is not clear that there would be any winners in that conflict. It possible Sindri trained at the emerald monestary with you (if Sindri didn't go to the Ioso islands) - though they prefer the way of the magus, they are not exclusive to it and could have taught him to excel in the martial skills. Others you could have met in Coran or on the way to Gumlat.
Sindri Quarrysson |
Sindri will have fled to Ioso Islands, figuring a big city like Coran might be too obvious.
Josh.Ingle |
OK, so Taejin would probably be using Coran, because it's a big city with what appears to be a high concentration of people to strike bargains with for information and guide services, not to mention pick up leads of his own like the one that brought him to Gumlat.
Silas Kaine |
Silas avoided Coran went he left the Emerald Monastery, not trusting that his ex-student status would protect him from the mages of the Tower of Heaven.
He was traveling the backroads when he fell in with a number of travelers headed for Gumlat to seek the reward.
On the road he decided that his traveling companions were hopeless rubes that didn't have a chance of securing the reward, much less even surviving an encounter with the goblins.
He decided he would part ways with them and find new allies when he reached Gumlat.
WT-516: Codename Sig |
I have cleric levels and I lean towards positive energy. My archetype just makes it easier for me to heal myself too. Not the only healer, no worries
Lyra Gillar |
So... been thinking about your options DM, and I believe its most interesting to go with the mountain pass and Akleta. Once in Coran, I'm not entirely sure how Lyra would have met or become acquainted with the others but being on the run from xenophobic humans has probably made her a little more willing to make friends with other dangerous adventurers such as herself. :)
GM Ascension |
I've gone through most of the character auditing. Still have some minor details to look over.
If everyone is ready to get started in earnest I'll post the first step of following the livestock tracks into the wilderness and what they lead to. Feel free of course to finish up whatever RP in the game discussion thread to complete your introductions and banding together.
Sindri Quarrysson |
I just need to fix up my sheet, I may of forgotten to add poison use and something else. When you have time, could we get a tiny bit of information on the areas, just for me Ioso. I just want to make my backstory a little bit better.
Lucius Coriarum |
Was thinking of Sandpoint Faithful
GM Ascension |
This is not required, but for those who want use google translate similar to what Lyra did in the game play thread for elvish, I have a list of languages I typically use. I've posted them in the campaign tab for easy reference, but here is the list as well.
Common - English
Abyssal - Nepali
Aquan - Welsh
Auran - Thai
Celestial - Armenian
Draconic - Chinese
Dwarven - Russian
Elven - Finnish
Giant - Icelandic
Gnome - Filipino
Goblin - Lithuanian
Ignan - Maori
Infernal - Tajik
Orc - Afrikaans
Sylvan - Bosnian
Terran - Balarusian
Undercommon - Khmer
Varisian - Romanian
This is a growing list, feel free to recommend more.
@Lyra: what language did you use for elvish? I can change the current Finnish one to whatever you used to keep consistency (or you can switch to Finnish, doesn't matter to me either way).
Lyra Gillar |
I actually used this:

I dunno how accurate it is to the Forgotten Realms elf language, but it worked for my purposes. I can switch to Finnish if you like, makes no difference to me.
WT-516: Codename Sig |
My computer is down and so I might be a little slower posting, but my work computer and phone still work so I can post. Just forewarnings lol
Lyra Gillar |
Hey everyone, I've come down with a nasty bug, started on Sunday and I've been kept asleep in a hospital the last few days. The doctors say I've started to improve so hopefully I'll be able to start posting again soon.
Josh.Ingle |
Please note that I do not expect hiding behind Sig to work, given that you need Hide in Plain Sight or equivalent to do it normally. I just threw the dice for the amusement of throwing dice, and for the tiny chance that it might work. Also the amusing mental image of everyone squeezing and Taejin trying to make sure he matches Sig's motion so he isn't visible past the wyrwood.
Sindri Quarrysson |
Don't worry guys, the solo adventures of Sindri are coming to an end.
