Ah yes. Now I remember. I set up another thread for Group 2 after the first episode because the type in the main title was just embarrassing me.

It is. The armour is of recent make, and Arishat notes grimly that it should enable the owner to escape from grabs more easily. She has an suspicion that the previous owner was not lucky in this respect, judging from the deep dents in the sides.

"Barel, you might like the armour. As for the hook, I suggest you hang onto it, Lynore. If it's needed, we either all need it, in which case it doesn't matter who has it, or you're scouting alone in which case you'll want it." Arishat looks around. "Anything else look interesting?"


Male Dwarf Warden/16

Barel sidles up to the armor. "That is nice, nice indeed. I hope I can spruce it up a little, but it looks well-used. Perhaps some mink oil here, some stiching there..."

Barel trails off thinking about what some general care for the armor. He then looks up questioningly, "Does anyone else have any interest in this armor? I don't want to be greedy, but this is really nice armor!"


Now you look closely, you see that you have indeed pulled the treasures from the trash. The other items, while not useless, would require substantial work to make them functional again. The room stands as a sad tribute to adventurers everywhere, and perhaps a not unfitting memorial.

Would we need some type of mending ritual to fix the sword/wand/hook? or do we take some type of penalty to use them?


Sorry - the sword, the hook, the wand and the armour are all fine. I was just trying to find a fancy and flavourful way of saying "there's nothing else" :). Apart from the potions, which I forgot to list.

The potions are simple potions of vitality. Three full flasks glint gently.

I had put the sword in my inventory as +4 vicious longsword (more than slightly used) as the description :)


It has definitely had more than one previous owner and I doubt that any of them were particularly careful drivers :)

I so wanted to write chartreuse and lilac there as the armour colours.


There's bound to be somewhere that would count as sensible camoflague.

EDIT: "Sure Kidlat, take a jaunt ahead and see what Ass-O-Rack has up his sleeve next!" and quieter but still so Kidlat can hear him "Hope it isn't anything too squirrelly, he sure is good at throwing nasty things our way!"

Lynore cautiously slinks forward.


The corridor leads onwards, but as Lynore and Kidlat advance, they can't avoid the smell that starts to creep inexorably up their noses. A charnal house of some kind lies ahead. Around the next corner, they sense, rather than see a larger space and from within it, hear a slight creaking.

Lynore whispers to Barel it smells yummy. Do you think this is the larder?


Kidlat gestures for silence and peers round the corner.

Perception 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (17) + 11 = 28


Kidlat sees horror. A foul ossuary lies before him, filled with bones, dismembered bodies and the stench of death. This boneyard is crossed by twisting bridges of flesh and bone rising 20 feet above it. The creaking is caused by the bridge swinging slightly.

I make it 31 squares. With double moves, probably four rounds in total to cross for all of us. I don't expect it to be that easy.

"We can do this as a mad dash or carefully, section by section, making sure the bridge is safe as we go. I think the second option is better."

Do we want to tie to one another in any way, or just trust our own agility to keep us out of trouble. How much rope is left after our last foray into rigging?

I don't think we want to be too close together. If the bridge is in sections, and I think that's what the map shows, then I think we're best not getting everyone onto one section at a time. Cross in pairs, perhaps?


It's not so much in sections as sort of glued together. The effect is mainly because I couldn't get Fractal Mapper to do the sort of shapes I needed without drawing all the bits separately, so don't worry too much about the sectional aspect.

Added in Tavar as well.

There is a chance you may not need it, but I feel that rolling init would be useful at this point, just so we can get an order of movement over the bridge.

I will creep along to the center of the first intersection slowly, holding onto my rope with the hook still firmly attached to the ceiling.

Lynore wearily creeps forward.


Last call for Kidlat before I roll horrible init for him. Note that I have classes all day today an live gamers in tonight, so won't be around until this evening to update.


As Lynore approaches the intersection, a faint moan starts. From the boneyard ghostly shapes take form and rise to attack.

Insight DC13: The rage in these ghostly guardians goes beyond that of mindless undead. These are warrior spirits, driven by dark oaths.
