Aidan Ayrvar |
Had not thought about that. Good point Aidan.
Narnel is responding to me saying that Harlynn probably wants his familiar and we might want the gear to make the full report. That port was eaten by the forum monster, I can't see it, I don't know about anyone else.
Elinor Knutsdottir |
"I'll talk to the girls' parents. And the sooner the better, the wifey can wait an hour or two. If you'll come with me Abbas, you're a comforting presence, unlike some of our other companions."
Elinor glances at Tzurkhan and Aidan as she says that.
Taedric Starfell |
Taedric shrugs, "I guess only some of us will be making the report, then... Let's go."
Abbas of Cheliax |
"Why we see girls' parents?" Abbas whispers to Elinor as they walk away. He smiled at the compliment in his beautiful airhead way and tries to match the skald's thinking. Unconsciously he smoothes down his wavy blond hair back into place.
Abbas twirls his quarterstaff and keeps going happy to have a break from battle and happy to be useful. "Who wifey? She our boss yes? In the tower? Alyssinn? Yes?" he frowns.
Either way the warrior is one who let Elinor lead, he trusts her.
Elinor Knutsdottir |
"I very strongly recommend "the inn" as a meeting place. That's where you'll find me in any event. Keep careful track of the loot sexy, I hope my share of it will be enough to get me some new armour...I'm not sure this set will ever be the same again."
It's a little bit unclear whether she's addressing Harlynn or Narnel...
Elinor seeks out someone who can direct her to the right parents and remind her of the names of the deceased.
"There's nothing worse than losing a child Abbas, but it helps a bit if the news comes from someone who gives a d@mn. The wifey in the tower is the boss, yes, and probably two or three smart people telling her what happened is better than seven or eight smart people."
Narnel Falerathon |
Fine, the Inn it is. See all of you there. get us a back room so that we can divvy things up when Harlynn and I arrive.
He winks and Elinor.

"Neeki and Jess go with Elinor and Abbas. Elinor and Abbas find it easy to locate the families of the girls, and somewhat harder to deliver the news. The families are each taciturn, and had expected this was the outcome after so much time. The only thing asked of you is why you are telling them and not Enzo, and does he know?
Are there specific things you are hoping to glean or ask? Anything missing from this general approach? Also a sense motive from each of you would be grand.
Those collecting the loot, go to Enzo's office with him. Tanzi is tight by his side. Enzo leads you to the cart and turns it over to you without fanfare. Then he asks, What about Mr Timor?
Again if I a missing something please speak up.
Those going to the tower: The rest of the refugess follow you. The trip to the ladies tower is easy and you are unimpeded. Entry is not though. Jagger greats you at the door and informs you that the lady is not well, and that he would be most happy to bring her a message. His eyes move back and forth over you and finally settle on Becca who shifts uncomfortably under his gaze.
Aidan Ayrvar |
I would be honored to look after the lady's health myself, Aidan rebutts.
In mine travels, a great many natural secrets has the earth whispered to me, he states, glaring at the doorman suspiciously.
Something seems off.
Sense motive: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (14) + 10 = 24
Narnel Falerathon |
Gotcha! Depending on GM Sigil's recollection of an existing beast of burden...
Come, Harlynn, let's get all of this back to the inn for distribution and safekeeping. We can come back with the others to question the prisoner, later, unless you feel it is necessary to do so now?

Enzzo Garrick is the leader of the ROugh Bloods and the sheriff in Haugins Ear.
The news is delivered and while there was no thank you (how could there be), Elinor is right that this was easier when someone sat for a moment or 2 and offered all the hollow comforts a time like this demands. Abbas and Elinor together bring the right touch.
The horses with the wagon are given to the pc's. Enzo mentions almost as an after thought. You've proven yourself to me, but with such wickedness in the air, best to be discrete with your wealth, lest jealousy turn to blame and blame to street justice. After asking if he can be of further assistance, he excuses himself to be with Tanzi.
At the tower, the unpleasantness escalates. Aidan's kind offer is met with a sneer (maybe?) and a curl of the lip. Her malady is not from anything you have seen. She reaches for magic beyond her ability to save these savages. (he means the villagers maybe? Or the refuges on the doorstep now?) If she does not rest she shall die soon. What message can I bring her? His eyes never leave Becca's bust.
Aidan Ayrvar |
Was there a result to that sense motive?
It is a good thing my brother went with the elf, or this may have come to blows.
Aidan scowls back.
Ye have not seen as I, he retorts under his breath as the man speaks.
None that I could not. My business is with a lady and a scholar, not a doorman, he replies coldly.

Becca is a the middle aged woman you rescued from the dressmakers house. Jaggers leer would likely make the village wh0re uncomfortable so Becca no doubt is not appreciating his attentions.
Jagger clears his throat and spits on the ground inches from Aidan's feet. His eyes move from Becca to Aidan's eyes and he glares. In Egorian we hit wild dogs with sticks. he says in an unsettlingly calm way.
Do you wish to make an intimidate check?
Aidan Ayrvar |
Aidan isn't actually very intimidating, he's just stubborn- but I'll give it a whirl. He can turn into a bear, though, and that'd be rather unsettling.
intimidate: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 1 = 10
Eh, not horrifying, but not great.
In Kynaris, the dogs bite, Aidan references a small, obscure town in northern Cheliax.
Taedric Starfell |
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7 Well, that's not helping... Guess Taedric's going to misread the situation a bit...
Taedric sighs, What is really going on here? Surely the man cannot be that.... obtuse and unhelpful...or perhaps he's just a boor, after all...
Trumps begins picking up on his companion's frustration and begins a low growl, until Taedric pats him behind the ear gently, stopping him. He then speaks, his voice a snarl and almost a perfect echo of his companions', "And in Umok, we know to save our energy to fight our actual enemies." The gnome does not raise his voice, but his tone is as caustic as acid as he finishes. He rides forward and stands in his saddle, blocking the man's leer, saying in an even tone, [b]"Now that we've all established where we're from, let's try this again."
He stands in the saddle and offers a hand to the man, "Well met. I am Taedric Starfell, and an agent of the very Lady you seek to proect. We were sent by her as her agents to gather information and we are now here to report -- and, I offer no offense, but by her instructions, we're to report directly to her. I would think that the Lady will be most interested in our report, and it would likely be unfortunate were she to learn that someone turned us away, no matter how good their intentions may have been. So, please, let us pass."
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (2) + 9 = 11
Apologies, once again, I wasn't getting new notifications. I'm not sure what's up with that. Also, I'm not liking the trend that rolling 1 and then 2 seems to indicate for my upcoming dice rolls...
Narnel Falerathon |
I believe that you and I picked up the wagon of loot and your familiar, returned to the Inn, and we await the others after their meetings in a backroom so that we can divvy things up. Aidan's animal companion is with us, as well.

Jagger looks at Taedric for a moment and says with an air of superiority, I know who you all are, and I know your errand. I delivered your summons, please recall. I will not have you lot, unwashed, covered in gore and reeking of urgency coming into her home. Taedric Starfell, make yourself appropriate to visit a lady, and an ill one at that and I will see you admitted at once. he moves to close the door and then turns and asks, You do not even have a place to get clean do you? Leave your pet here and follow me. His eyes deliver rebuke to each of you.
Taedric Starfell |
Taedric says, "As you will.", and dismounts, drawing upon his heritage to speak with Trumps, saying, "Stay here, but listen. I'll cry out if anything happens, and if it does, lead the rest of them to me."
He then steps away from Trumps and draws upon his Faegift once more, passing a hand over himself, prestidigitating away any soil, stain or smell as he looks at Jagger and says, "I know, but I thought the reminder that we were all on the same side was a useful one."
After about half a minute of magical polish, the gnome stands up straight and adjusts his armour, cloak and blade, ensuring that he looks his best and says, cooly, "Here seemed to work well enough, I think. Let's be about it, then."

What happens to Taedric in the tower is being discussed via email. Some time later he exits as he came and you proceed to meet the others at the tavern as was discuss.
This tavern is not so good as Farrs place, but with him as he is , this will have to do, and truthfully for where you are it is not bad. It becomes clear that what you have here is not readily spendable, but Yancar is always ready to trade, and even more willing if there is a fun story to go with what ever you are selling. Somethings are easy for him to procure and others will take more time.
Each PC should have gear worth 6000 GP at this point. Magic items should be from the Core Rulebook and will be approved on an individual basis. Please send me wish lists. Also keep in mind that exotic items (as I deem) may take some time for Yancar to get.
