Alright I think I'm going to have to drop the game too, sorry. It's just too disheartening to slowly have the character I made torn apart. If I had been able to know some of this beforehand maybe I could have made a character that would function alright, because the lore does seem interesting, but I don't think I can keep playing if the things I planned to be able to do are just going to become suicidal.

GM Archlich |

Ok, Lyra - sad to see you go.
@Kejak and Nesipho: please give me your thoughts. I can keep calling more of the people on the wait list, but first I'd like to hear from you if you will change your mind on the next action or two. I opened the opportunity of answering questions to avoid having to deal with more people dropping (like Lyra now) - we still have quite some people I can call, but if any of you two drop, I won't waste my time (or Anderlorn's, who just joined us).

I am in no matter what fun magic has in store for us. It reminds me of Wild Magic Surge and Ravenloft both.

Nesipho Inkosi |

I'm still in. I guess I would ask one thing though, if we discover during game play that something becomes unusable, that a suitable opportunity be presented to swap it out for something else - e.g., retraining rules on level up, or some other method that makes sense within your world.

Kejak |

Sorry, I posted at gameplay without reading this first :p
I'll seriously think about it and give you a proper answer when I get home in a couple of hours.

Kejak |

Ok, I'm going to be honest. The whole thing is a turn off, no one can deny it. I've been lucky enough to not depend too much on spells and SLAs, so I said I was staying, and I'm still staying. But I feel so sad that the people with whom I spent about two weeks rearranging background and choosing Teamwork Feats are mostly gone.
I frankly don't understand why Archlich took the decision of picking people for this game who rely heavily on SLAs or spells, made them spend weeks building something and then screwed them, but... well, he knows better, I guess.
As I said, I am staying because I think the character is mostly intact (mostly, I say) and because I'm curious. Let's see where this takes us. But I don't feel like spending time changing backgrounds, e.g., anymore, so it'll stay as it is.
This is for now. I can't tell you what will happen if we get ganked on our first combat, or if we happen to be more than we thought. Or if the story is so vibrant that I'm totally hooked on it. But no one will say I didn't try.
Edit: Plus, where would you go without my Knowledge rolls? :P

Mladris Genmaris |

I think he meant well not to tell people because they may give away the plot line or take away some of the fun. Back in my early DnD days, people would find these things funny. However, we are in an age where people don't like these kind of surprises. Part of the questing is probably to fix magic.
Exactly, how would we navigate without you Kejak?! ... lol

Nesipho Inkosi |

Yes, people generally don't like having weeks of their time wasted. It's shocking, really.
You have expressed your irritation and chosen not to continue with the game. Now please move on and leave those of us that have chosen otherwise to continue.

GM Archlich |

Guys: I think I will call this game a failure, unfortunately. I just read in some other games that Jereru (Kejak) is sick and leaving games.
Mladris/Anderlorn: you had the perfect idea; that's exactly my line of thought. Part of the fun of this game was, exactly, finding out certain things wouldn't work.
And Nesipho, to your point: yes, retraining was one thing that I had on the rules (it would actually be a little easier than the official rules - you'd simply "learn" certain things overnight replacing others that wouldn't work). For instance, Abjuration simply doesn't work at all. Anyone focused on it would be able to do the proper replacements as you test it the first time.
The same would apply to Kejak's teleportation thing too - although short ranged teleportation method actually work most of the time (contrary to long ranged), if he felt the character was affected somehow we could reorganize it accordingly.
Anyway - sorry it didn't work out, my friends. If I put another campaign together, I'll use something simpler and easier, as much as it doesn't attract me as a GM or player. If it ever becomes the case, just PM me and I'll sure reserve you a spot.
:(

Mladris Genmaris |

Too bad really, I was ready to go but I understand.
And if you do change your mind about this campaign, I am still ready to go.

Kejak |

Hey, wait! I am sick and leaving games? Where did you read that?

GM Archlich |

Hey man! Are you okay???? I read it was you (you're Jereru right)?? Now I'm confused!

Mladris Genmaris |

GM Archlich is so depressed, he is seeing things ... lol
I looked through his aliases, I do not see him pulling out of anything including CT's Monster Mash. You sure it wasn't an alias spelled similarly?

GM Archlich |

Wow! Sorry, Kejak. Here's the person I confused you with. And his name has nothing to do with yours!

Kejak |

No problem, you might just have to quit whiskey while on duty, though :P
So, are we still rocking, then? I'm in!

GM Archlich |

Unfortunately, no - I'm still calling it. I went through the other applicants and most of their stuff is so out of order that I don't want to put myself through it. It gives me way too much work to keep stuff organized for this game due to time traveling and whatnot, and I don't want you guys having to deal with this adventure (way too tough) with three people only. :(

Mladris Genmaris |

It doesn't bother me to reopen recruitment and tell people magic is all fracked up. I know you are burnt too but I am just trying to save all of us, including you GM, from wasting so much time that we have already spent.

Kejak |

As you wish, guys, but if you reconsider after talking to your pillow, count me in ;) I actually would like to see how much I could break the roof of the Knowledge rolls :P

GM Archlich |

I'll think about it and give you guys an answer tomorrow, what about it? For now, though, I'm still a little burned.

GM Archlich |

Hey guys,
For now, I think I will really leave the PbP alone. If I ever decide to GM again here on the forums, either I'll do some PFS or a much easier homebrew.
Apologies again for wasting your time, but I'm not in the mood of going through frustratingly selecting more people at the moment.

Mladris Genmaris |

Ah bummer, that's cool. Nothing worse than a DM/GM not into the game = players die fast ... lol. Can you please close game. Sorry it didn't worked out, I was about to get into it. Also, I hope you do both PFS and Homebrew, or just Homebrew.

GM Archlich |

I will close it in a couple days - just going to give time to the others to see things here. If I ever get another game going, please count that you guys will have half way to reserve a spot already.
