While you are being assigned your task you may attempt a 'ship action' its something you do during your work, During the time when you are working you can attempt the following.
Work Diligently: Gain a +4 bonus on any one check for a diversion, such as attempting to open lockers when job’s daily task
Influence: Make normal checks for a job’s daily task and attempt to influence a single NPC
Sneak: Make normal checks for a job’s daily task and briefly explore one area of the ship (the PC can make a single Perception check or other skill check with no chance of detection)
Shop: Take a –2 penalty on all checks for a job’s daily task and visit the quartermaster’s store
Shirk: Take a –2 penalty on all checks for a job’s daily task and take time exploring one area of the ship. The PC can take 10 on a single Perception check or other skill check, but must make a check to avoid being discovered (see below).
As for befriending, as you are assigned your job you will see other NPCs, youc an attempt a bluff check (To pretend to be their friend) an Intimidate check to bully them into doing as you say or a diplomacy check to win them over, all of these regardless of the skill used counts as a diplomacy check to change their attitude And will be an important part of the adventure path. Plus a whole bunch of bonuses, so look for that as it comes up.

Best to put up things like Ship Actions, Maps and NPC attitudes in the campaign info tab. :)

sorry about playing the womanizer but that was the first thing that popped into my head. funny, I was initially planning to play this guy like zorro and the dedication to the fencing. However having everything stolen from me limits my plans. so womanizer comes out.

in the other game i was in before i became the gm i already had 3 npcs likeing me by the 3rd day. all women. and now i will be able to get even more ahahah. and oddly i also got the female bard player too... but she was drunk with a nat 1 on her save so just having fun on both sides.
@henk, dont worry there are plenty of romance partners in the path. not to mention the ones that the dm might just toss out there for the fun of it.

Nah its a bit different. But you use Bluff, Intimidate or Diplomacy to change their status like you would if you were using diplomacy, except it takes all day (a ship action) and its permanent. For example a hostile person might be made unfriendly with a good enough roll. *cough*Kyran*cough*
The next day you can try to make them even friendlier if you can get to them. And so forth. their status towards you is already figured by the start of the module. (mostly its not good) but I am also going to play fast and loose if certain NPCs and characters happen to click properly. Such as the two womanizers up on the ropes bonding over techniques! lol.
Tryin' to figure out if I should actually TELL you guys the status or not as you befriend them. lol
Now if you guys WANT to start a rivalry or romance with one of them, we can import those rules no problem or use something similar.
ok this was bugging me a bit, Kilara how did you get your intimidate so high, i got 1 rank, 3 charisma, 3 class, 1 trait, for 8, where is the rest coming from?
Tiefling feat - Monstrous Mask. +5 intimidate to all humanoids. :)
Also it looks like I didn't fix the math - should be +13 on the sheet (I mistakenly rolled the 14 only once)
