I've started some basics in Korean alphabet, in preparation for my (as of yet time undetermined) eventual holiday.
Man... signs need getting used to. I'm looking to and from my notes. Let alone memorizing words still yet to come.
>_>

Learning Korean nice. I've never had a strong affinity with learning languages and I wish I knew more. Keep it up!
Let's finish these orcs off post your action ahead of time if need be bot me if you find yourself waiting on my action.
Yurei and Uesugi will continue to double until they reach the orcs and then it is going to be a fury of fists and blades!
Sir D. Arthraven
|
I'm still far away from getting to words themselves. :)
I've got to try. It seems Koreans value foreigners having at least a few basics in speaking.
(Kind of like native Italians, lingual lazy lot, hehe.) ^^
GM Red

Dr. Pepper is up for botting, if anyone wants to take that on!
Mr. Peppers
|
I can see that was far too scary a task! I'm back and catching up and figuring out my spells before I act.
GM Red
|
I think this battle may be taking a little too long. Let's institute the 12 hour botting rule for the next few days, please? I think you guys all have up to date botting instructions. Cup's probably going to start IC.
Cup

I hadn't moved because it wasn't my turn yet. Do you want us to post future moves under spoilers to keep things moving?
To be fair, things slowed WAAAY Down on GM Hmm's table on Sunday as well. I think that no one was around.
Hmm
GM Red
|
I'm just so used to our games moving super fast, but I should relax - it's not like it's the end of the world (this time) if we don't complete a section in time... :)
No need to post future moves unless you think you're going to be away for a while! Thanks though.
Cup

Considering that we were struggling as a house to get successes, it might not be a bad idea to pick up the pace a little bit! You and I are among the fastest of the GMs.
Hmm

No this is The Red Arm table. We move fast!!!! CHARGEEEEEEE!
Mr. Peppers
|
So we are trying to convince all three of the leaders to stay here vs leaving the area? What is the reasoning behind this, because Medda asked for our help or something else? I'm just trying to find a motivation for Mr Peppers to ask them to stay and fight orcs all the time, which he doesn't see as a great idea heh.
GM Red
|
You've returned with Ivvora's hilt, and since Medda thought it lost of some its spiritual strength since being stolen, you had to walk the same path that Ivvora walked during the Shining Crusade (right through the Hold of Belkzen). It is now two days from the Winter solstice, the only time that the evil nightwalker Eshimka (once slain by Ivvora, dwarven Paladin) is able to travel to the Material Plane, arriving at the solstice stones that were historically defended by the Twinhorns. If they leave, you can guess what happens.
Mr. Peppers
|
Ok, a save the world, this is what a good person would do, yada yada. Ok Mr Peppers is motivated properly now.

Hey guys! The special is finished in about a week. I hope you've enjoyed it.
Let's take a break of at least a few days between the end of the special and the next adventure. Looking at what we'll do next, I'm assuming most or all of you will be Level 7. I know Cup enjoys planar travel, so I wanted to stick to Season 8. Any love for Torrent's Last Will or Wardens of Sulfur Gulch? The former involves travel to the Plane of Water while the latter is more techy, in whatever way technology can be introduced in a medieval world. You'll be searching for ancient/alien technology in that one.
I'm more partial to Torrent's, because it sounds FUN!
Sirettis
|
Sirettis likes the coast, so this is one vote for Torrent's Last Will.
Gorgeous Gallix Granbonne
|
Torrent's sounds cool! Plus, if that takes us to one of the major planar cities, it'll help with faction goals for Gallix!
GM Red
|
Full disclosure... The scenario takes place entirely underwater. :)
It's not too late to back out! Hahaha.
Sirettis
|
Oh boy, swimming rules!
Wait, Water Breathing nor Touch of the Sea is on the witch's spell lists?
GM Red
|
The scenario is setup so that water breathing won't be an issue for the entire adventure. Combat, however, won't be as straightforward as it usually is... Could be a good change of pace though!
Mr. Peppers
|
Underwater? Ugh. I built Luurg for underwater combat, not Mr Peppers! But I'm sure casting underwater isn't impossible... once I read up on it I MAY change my mind... I think I need more planar travel for more Faction Goals too.
**Yup, two different Faction Goals still to do on another plane... So I guess I'll live with underwaterness.
Mr. Peppers
|
Merry Monday!
When you say they'll have cover from our position.. does that include Z fireball? Damn I wish I had a fly hex like Sirettis!
Beautiful sunny day here today, been getting frosts the last few mornings. Bugs are DED! Including all those damned fruit flies that were setting up shop in my kitchen.
Sirettis
|
This morning was pretty cold, but I began sweating on the way to work. Ugh, this is my problem with fall.
Flight Hex is way cheaper than memorizing Fly, that's for sure. Plus it's an easy way to line up a lightning bolt!
Uesugi Hideyoshi

Hey all ended up being quite crazy last week, but this week looks much better! So let the posting commence!
GM Red
|
There's no hard and fast rule on ranged attacks and blindness, so I went with RAW which means everything has total concealment from the crusader while he's blind. He saw Cup cast, so he'd have an idea of generally what square she'd be in.
Cup
|
That's fair. I was one of the scarier things that he faced, and he has no idea that Cup can only do that once per adventure!
Hmm

Gnome librarians are damn scary, I concur.

We're wrapping up in a few days, so if anyone needs to roll a day job or faction goal, please do so. Also, let me know if any of you will be slow tracking.

Perform(Wind): 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
Cup
|
Perform Sing+Bukog Benefit: 1d20 + 19 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 19 + 5 = 33
Don't forget the +5 from Bukog!
Gorgeous Gallix Granbonne
|
Craft (Alchemy), Bukog: 1d20 + 10 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 10 + 5 = 33
Nice! Thank you, Bukog!
Sirettis
|
Right that puts my check to 13. I'm going to spend my GM reroll on that, unless I do during the adventure.
Reroll: 1d20 + 3 + 5 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 3 + 5 + 1 = 22
Mr. Peppers
|
I've completely forgot about all the buffs we earned earlier.. not that I have a day job. Is there a way to get spellcraft of K: Arcana as a day job? :)
Cup
|
If there was, I would have done that with Knowledge Planes! I totally think that becoming a teacher at the Grand Lodge should have allowed you to use knowledge checks for day job. (But it doesn't.)
I may reroll my day job, but I want to make sure that we seal that portal first!
Hmm

I've started preparing chronicles, so if anyone hasn't rolled a day job or needs to reroll, please do so before tomorrow.
Thoughts on the special?
Too easy where's the real challenge!!!!!!
Sirettis
|
Use my reroll for my day job, please!
It seems like we were under a time crunch for some of the events- talking to the 7 orc chiefs, in particular. That may be the format of PbP, though.
GM Red
|
Yeah, it went a bit fast, in my humble opinion. I didn't get to respond to players in the way I'd like to because of the tight timeline, and I was forced to jump ahead whenever the Overseer would update. That's just the nature of specials. We'll be able to take our time with our next scenario and go as fast or as slow as we'd like.
Mr. Peppers
|
As a caster I was much happier with the level of combats in this one. Being able to cast my spells somewhat freely instead of filling turn after turn with wand useage was nice. Having fireball friendly encounters sure helped too :)
The rushed nature of the special is a slight negative at times, but I can see how it would really help a group that is stuck in a spot to get moved on in the plot and not linger and lose interest. Some groups likely aren't near as well balanced as we are and may lack either combat damage or some skills to get past challenges quickly.

A hooded man passes through the streets.
"Chronicles, chronicles! Get your chronicles! Get 'em while they're here, or they just might... Disappear!"
UMD: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (19) + 8 = 27
He vanishes suddenly, the stack of sheets drifting to the ground.

Mr Peppers bends down and picks up a sheet and glares at the space Silas just vanished from "I can still see you Silas, when are you going to learn to cast that for yourself.. You're only hurting yourself!"
He casts a quick prestidigitation and cleans the dust from the pages, nodding in appreciation at the fine and accurate craftsmanship listed there.
GM Red
|
Silas now has four "hanging" chronicles that will bring him from level 4 to 8 immediately, but he can't use them until he gets to Level 4.
By the way, I'm missing boon rolls for Sir D and Cup.
Cup: 1d20 ⇒ 10
Sir D: 1d20 ⇒ 5
Well, I'm off to report the table!
