The Persona games are amazing. They're some weirdly good combination of Japanese slice of life social simulator, in depth turn based RPG, and psychology. Wikipedia says it better:

The tone of the games (after persona 3 at least) Have different feelings in general shared by the kinds of personas characters have.
Persona 3 was a Greek tragedy. thus a lot of the said personas(summons basically) where based around Greek mythology.
Persona 4 is more like a Japanes3 Comedey, or an Scooby doo adventure depending on who you ask. In such the summons are Japanese mythological beings. (Shinto, Buddhist, Taoist etc.)
Persona 5 is kind of a crime drama, with the personas of each criminal being and outcast/outlaw of some kind. Think the gentlemen their genre kind of stuff.
It makes every game feel special and they are almost entirely independent from another so you don't need to play earlier games to understand newer ones.
Sounds awesome maybe I'll be able to afford it one day.
FYI, the bracers are +1 and that does not stack with any other armor bonus. Basically they only matter if you can't wear armor.
Lol I utterly did not realize that both Alexis and Septima had armor on. I didn't even realize that silken thing was a thing. Thus I shall tweak the loot, as is my right as a GM. Since it is a product of the Grandmasters, it'll work a little screwy. I'll let you know when I decide what it do.

Silken ceremonial armor and a mithril buckler are the way to go for casters that want an armor class. ^_^
Works for me. Now I get to introduce you to the last of the homebrew elements I have before I ask for your opinion on all this. Screwy items from the Grandmasters xD

Aww. I'm flattered :3 Its amusing, Gary is a pretty plane and subdued character in general, one of the few purely comedic characters I do. He is just Barbarian A barbarian (Miras) mount buddy and good pal. They even have a background story they never talk about, but it's apparently awesome. (basically it was a gag we came up with and loved so we are rolling with it.) I feel if I was gonna run a comady character, it should be in a game using cheatcodes lol.

So my live players were in a stained glass room tonight. I changed them all into their most asinine characters and made them solve an incredibly frustrating weight puzzle. Three Goblins (a Rogue, a Bard, and a cleric of Erastil), A disgusting Ratfolk gunner, and a talking Dire wolf. Also, they couldn't die, despite the hilarious ways there were to die in that room. The hilarity was endless.

I'd like some input on a house rule I'm considering:
Overkill - A player that lands a killing blow dealing a certain excess of damage needed to kill or disable the creature may translate that damage into a bonus on an action or a free action depending on the amount in excess.
What I don't have are specifics. I figure the most basic is a free intimidate with bonus or extra damage or hit chance on next attack, but I'd like to think about other cool options. this also may be better as a feat, but I like the idea of a lesser, global bonus.

There's already a feat for a free intimidate check when you down someone in combat, IIRC. Maybe just an ad-hoc bonus to intimidate checks or other things that a grisly murder occurring seconds beforehand would help with?

I'm sorry Septima and I completely lost track of the games between the move and the long gap in posts lol. I kinda thought it had ended we will try to post more often.
Is ok. Largely my fault, but I'm tenacious, and I've got too many cool plans to let it die just yet.
Combat does seem to bog us and every online campaign down considerably. I wonder whether something could be done to remedy that?

Honestly, the combat wasn't the thing that bogged us down so much as two people moving and the sudden hiccup of posting and paizo being down--we did it just fine for the first actual combat scenario.
True. I'm projecting a bit from other campaigns. anyway we'll regain our momentum soon enough. Summers tend to be slow too, what with there being other things to do outside and the college kids that flood the site during school being off. I remember that from my best game. Even though I was the only one that suffered from a significant change in situation over the summer, we still slowed considerably when it came around.

In my experience, party size has a lot to do with the slowdown as far as combat goes. Like, in real life optimal party size is 4-5 but online that optimal spot is closer to 2-3. It's just the nature of play-by-post, which is why I try to avoid PBPs with 5+ players.
That said, the typical semi-decent solution to combat is to just have everybody post whatever it is that they intend to do and then have the GM collate the data and figure out what the hell actually happens. In all honesty, for the sake of streamlining, the GM should be the only one making rolls in a PBP. Players keep up-to-date character sheets and state their intent. GM works their magic and relays what happens. Less fun if you're the type of player that enjoys rolling, but certainly more efficient which keeps people interested in the story.
As far as Overkill, I feel like Intimidate is really the only logical path to go down. Dealing more damage or getting extra actions after an overkill can make sense from a mechanical viewpoint, but within the confines of the fiction is illogical. You can't even use the excuse of being "pumped up" by your success because your character has no way to determine just how much overkill was dealt.
But a bonus to Intimidate for an overkill makes sense. Maybe have an overkill trigger stuff that happens on a critical hit? I can't think of any decent examples off the top of my head for that. OR (I am currently laughing at this idea) you could make it more difficult to raise someone who's been overkilled. /shrug
