If you haven't noticed, I tend to go a little over the top with critical success and fumbles. Very few checks are immune to at least some flavor bonus for crits in either way ;)

I love it. It's been a long-standing rule in my games that if you take damage from a critical hit, you are required to have a scar from it. All those pretty boy fighters without a scratch on them never made sense to me.

I played a full session after introducing this next character before realizing that to play him I was doing a spot on Hammerlock impression. Just keep that in mind going forward. And keep him away from threshers if you please.

My brother plays a lot of it, I really only know enough to know that 'pudge is a fat hooker' is an old dota meme, and only because he was talking about how to get people to watch a dota stream.

You know it's fun to play a character that is out of my wheel house. I mean I have made characters like Alexis a few times (happy weirdos who blabbering alot.)
but I don't get to play them. So far I have played an uncomfortably jovial barbarian (read jovial as happy/angry), a broody antipaladin, A broody alcoholic inquisitor, a psychotic/narcissistic lich thing, and what can only be described as a sexual deviant of an magus (who probably should have been a swashbuckler but it wasn't out yet and he was my first character.)
basically it's nice to be the ditsy one. Sure Alexis is smart but not wise enough to catch on that Septima isn't a nun and is getting pissed at her lol.
If it wasn't for the stress rushing through her, Septima would be pushing her signet ring into Alexis's face fast enough to make a sonic boom.

I can't find a rule that says this, but my personal ruling is that knowledge checks, because they represent how much you know, not how you perform in a situation, don't qualify for taking ten. I might allow ten if you have or have recently read material on the specific subject, or have time to research.
One of the few quirks I have that doesn't favor the player :P
Alright, I always try to not pick the first song that jumps out at me for theme songs, but all day the only song that I could think of for Amara is Burn.

House rules so far are logical and functional. I could swear I've seen those Low Variance rules somewhere before, but I can't put my finger on it.
Also, in regards to naming things (and randomly rolling things in general), I pretty much swear by Donjon.

What are some shows, books, games, whatever that you guys are in to? I like throwing goofy or serious references into gameplay occasionally, but it's better when everyone gets it.
I've already told you I play Borderlands and League. I also love the Final fantasy games (IX most of all, but we seem to have a certain X-2 vibe in this party. Amara certainly reminds me of Payne). Supernatural, Bleach, and Nanatsu no Taizai (Seven Deadly Sins) are among my favorite shows to reference.
Gods, she reminiscent of Payne. I'll never not see it now...
That said, I have a whole world of media that I'm into. The full list would be far too long, but let's see what comes off the top of my head.

Old school, mostly. My tops are Outlaw Star and Gundam Wing. Bleach is one of those shows that I loved early on. I feel as the animation got better, the writing got worse. Kubo should have just ended the series with Aizen's defeat. Avatar: Last Airbender and Legend of Korra. Not technically anime, but I'm including it here.

Anime: Honestl6 I have a lot of Intrests but my current favorite is my hero Academia. One punch man, mob psycho, and konosuba are also good right now. Some older ones like Dragon ball Z and stuff from those days are there. Also RWBY is a show I have been digging a lot, and it is considered anime by the Japanese company that did the Japanese dub. Also have a weird like for 7 deadly sins. Like not sure if it's good but I kinda binged it like crazy so something must have been going right lol.
Games: A lot of the same ones Amara had. I also love me some Pokemon and I introduced Amara to Persona proper. That games Anime rendition was also good. Also love sonic adventure battle 2, though I am aware it's a poop game. Also love me the occasional survival horror game like Silent hill (2 specifically) and Bloodborne( Yes I fully consider that game survival horror. Unlike darksouls which is more fantasy midevil adventure.) Currently I am enjoying Neon and Overwatch a lot. Also LOOOVE me fallout and oblivion is my favorite elder scrolls game. (not a huge fan of fallout 4 though.)
Shows: Honestly I don't watch much TV, usually Netflix stuff. I am liking the Marvel shows.(Jessica Jones and Luke cage etc.)
movies: So yeah can add marvel movies too. The dark night is great( RIP heath leger.) Also MASSIVE fan of Jacobs ladder. Up is a movie that will make me cry every time. As a lot of pixar films are want to do with me.
As far as table too I only really know pathfinder and Feng shui.
Music: I am willing to give anything a try nowadays. Still love Diablo swing orchestra, Amara introduced me to them. Also big fan of postmodern Jukebox.
Books: Used to read a lot of Dean koontz and such but nowadays just read online comics and s#%& lol

The first thing that comes to my mind is Evangelion. Is it possible to love a show both ironically and unironically? Theres also Serial Experiments Lain. Otherwise, I like magical girl shows in general, Death Note, and Log Horizon. Currently I'm watching lots of old stuff (like Revolutionary Girl Utena) on my own, and various other things with Alexis. Things like RWBY, Hero Academia, and Demi-chan.

Aside from Welcome to Night Vale, I've gone through all of their Presents lineup (up to Orbiting Human Circus) but right now, I'm taking a break to listen to Myths and Legends. Also, Limetown.
GAMES, VIDEO
My taste is pretty similar to Alexis and Amara. My favorite Final Fantasy game is X (though Tactics Advance and XIV are close seconds). I'm currently in a love affair with Guild Wars 2 (thanks in part to it's nice RP community).

Aside from this, I have a vague knowledge of 3.5 DnD and World of Darkness. I've played Magic, but don't have the patience for deck building.

I like the MCU a lot, Thor is my favorite (and Gillian's run of Journey Into Mystery is my favorite comic btw)
