I could stand at M46 or M45 if someone (Kargas?) occupies the other of those two spaces. Don't want to get flanked by the rat in the alcove and one of the wights.

Jan Carpenter |

I'm cool with that but it means one of us wasn't actually in the room.

Deranged_Maniac_Beth |
Okay, let's get this overcrowded show on the road:
Gemheart initiative: 1d20 ⇒ 20
Krezen initiative: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23
Jan initiative: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 16
De'arv'ki initiative: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14
Hathnor initiative: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
Hozela initiative: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15
Mundarion initiative: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24
Sorjla initiative: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20
Yessai initiative: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13
Wight 1 initiative: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17
Wight 2 initiative: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9
Rat 1 initiative: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (11) + 6 = 17
Rat 2 initiative: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18
Rat 3 initiative: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10
Rat 4 initiative: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (16) + 6 = 22
Rat 5 initiative: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (11) + 6 = 17

Deranged_Maniac_Beth |
As Krezen prepares to attack, one of the rats scampers fowards, past the wights and towards you.
Meanwhile, Sorjla chants in draconic, and a shimmering barrier surrounds her,
Casting Greater Stunning Barrier on herself
When she is so protected, the grig flies over Krezen and Gemheart's heads and lands next to the charging rat, whilst singing in recitative
"The power of Lady Tamara shan't allow thee to harm my companions!"
Gemheart's turn.

Gemheart |

Gemheart casts a spell, creating a feverishly spinning mass of stone matter to emanate forth and take a life of its own.
Energy Sphere, putting it in W2's space. 1 SP for Sphere, +1 SP for increased damage. +0 SP for Crystal Blast
slashing: 8d4 ⇒ (2, 2, 1, 1, 2, 4, 3, 3) = 18 and REF 18 for half damage, and then if damaged, REF DC 18 save or be entangled and unable to move

Deranged_Maniac_Beth |
Wight 2's reflex: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14
another reflex save: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16
The wight reals back as Gemheart's magic entwines her.
Meanwhile, the rats scurry in and attack. Rat 5, from the south side of the room, darts up and bites at Sorjla:
Bite: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (15) + 6 = 21
Though to no avail.
Meanwhile, two other rats bite at Yessai:
R1: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 20
1d6 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10
Yessai's fortitude vs poison: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (18) + 7 = 25
R2: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12
Meanwhile, the other wight moves past his rat companions and strikes at Hathnor with his spear, leaving himself vulnerable to Sorjla in the process:
Sorjla's AoO: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 19
Wight 1 spear: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (15) + 18 = 33
1d8 + 9 ⇒ (8) + 9 = 17
Hathnor is wounded somewhat.
Jan's turn.

Jan Carpenter |

Jan grins. "Well, if you can die once, you can die again!" Jan uses his quarterstaff to pole vault over the rat to the west of him.
Tumbling through the rat's space, using the boots for +5.
Acrobatics (tumble): 1d20 + 14 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 14 + 5 = 24
Then Jan begins weaving a spell.
Casting divine favor defensively.
Concentration DC 17: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (13) + 9 = 22

Jan Carpenter |

Oh, BTW I was moving to space K 45.

Deranged_Maniac_Beth |
Gah, the forum keeps eating my posts.
Jan's tumbling skills are enough to get past the rat unharmed.
Hozela moves forwards, and calls out
"Be light on your feet, and strike the undead!"
A swirl of energy pulses out to most allies.
Hozela casts Haste on Jan, Krezen, Gemheart, Yessai, Sorjla, and Hathnor. She's only sixth level, so the other NPCs aren't affected.
De'arv'ki fires at one of the rat whilst turning invisible vanishing trick.
crossbow at R1: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (2) + 8 = 10
though to no effect.
With her speed enhanced by Hozela, Yessai lashes out three times at the nearest rat:
1d20 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9
1d20 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14
1d20 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
But her aim is terrible today.
Another rat moves out of its crevice and bites at Yessai:
R3 bite: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12
but their teeth aren't strong enough to harm the gith.
The other wight's expression becomes firm, and he moves forwards, sword at the ready, towards Sorjla.
"If you stand opposed to us, then I will ensure you pay with your lives!"
He slashes his sword at the grig:
1d20 + 14 ⇒ (19) + 14 = 33
2d6 + 21 ⇒ (4, 2) + 21 = 27
1d20 + 9 ⇒ (1) + 9 = 10
Sorjla grimaces in pain, but is able to remain awake.
Meanwhile, Hathnor swings his hammer at the wight assaulting him:
hammer at W1: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (17) + 13 = 30
1d8 + 8 ⇒ (2) + 8 = 10
1d20 + 8 ⇒ (20) + 8 = 28
critical confirmation: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (13) + 8 = 21 Normal hit
1d8 + 8 ⇒ (4) + 8 = 12
The east door starts rattling harder, as if someone or something will burst through any moment.
Mundarion, meanwhile, fires his bow at one of the rats:
arrow fired at R1: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24
2d6 + 1 ⇒ (3, 3) + 1 = 7
The rat writhes in pain, but is still kicking.
And now we are back to Krezen's turn.

Krezen |

My bad guys - here I am, and should be back to regular posting.
Krezen steps forward, to strike at one of the rats.
Moving to N:47, striking at R4
Bardiche +1: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (19) + 10 = 29
Damage if it hits: 1d10 + 16 ⇒ (1) + 16 = 17
Bardiche CRIT?: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (16) + 10 = 26
Additional damage if it crits: 1d10 + 16 ⇒ (6) + 16 = 22

Deranged_Maniac_Beth |
Now it's my bad...
Krezen utterly obliterates the rat. As it dies, its body dissolves into a blob of black and grey energy. The blob initially begins to fade, but then it rises above the ground and darts towards the door to the southeast of the room, passing through it!
Sorjla shifts back in the air and fires her bow twice at another rat:
at R1: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (3) + 8 = 11
at R1: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (15) + 8 = 23
2d4 ⇒ (4, 3) = 7
It, too, dissolves into dark energy which hurries its way to the southeastern door.
Gemheart's turn.

Gemheart |

Gemheart takes a step into N45, then bursts into a mass of smooth stones that shoot forward through the two rats, flow around Jan and swirl in I45 and reform into Gemheart.
0 SP for 5d4 damage, +1 SP for Energy Leap, 0 SP for stone blast, 0 SP for Selective blast (taking Jan from blast area) //REF 18 for half damage. If it matters, stone blast ignores SR and doesn't count as magic in any way (so can penetrate globe of invulnerability and such). It's bludgeoning damage though so DR would apply.
bludgeoning dmg: 5d6 ⇒ (4, 6, 4, 5, 2) = 21
Gemheart uses his remaining move action to direct the Energy Sphere he cast on W2 to move and land back on W2 (causing damage and same effects again, REF 18 save for half dmg and REF 18 save or entangled and cant move)
piercing: 8d4 ⇒ (3, 3, 1, 1, 1, 4, 3, 1) = 17

Deranged_Maniac_Beth |
Is the website finally working again? I've been unable to get this website to load for days!
Gemheart destroys two of the remaining rats. Once again, their bodies dissolve and float towards the southeastern door.
The sole remaining rat moves up to bight at Sorjla:
1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 24
1d6 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7
Sorjla's fortitude save vs disease: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (19) + 6 = 25
Meanwhile, the first wight steps up and stabs his spear at Sorjla
1d20 + 18 ⇒ (15) + 18 = 33
1d8 + 9 ⇒ (4) + 9 = 13
1d20 + 13 ⇒ (8) + 13 = 21
With a piercing shriek of pain, the grig falls to the ground unconcious.
Sorjla's stabilization roll: 1d20 + 2 - 1 ⇒ (9) + 2 - 1 = 10
Her breathing regularizes, but she's still barely out.
Sorjla is unconcious and stable at -1 HP.
Jan's turn.

Jan Carpenter |

"Sorjla!" Jan shouts.
Jan runs southward and circles around behind the nearest wight. He then strikes at it with his staff.
Single move to L49. I am flanking W1 with Krezen. Then single attack, fighting defensively.
quarterstaff +2 flank +3 divine favor -2 fighting defensively -2 power attack: 1d20 + 13 + 2 + 3 - 2 - 2 ⇒ (17) + 13 + 2 + 3 - 2 - 2 = 31

That looks pretty good. 13 points of that is sneak attack damage.
"How does that taste? To your liking?"

Deranged_Maniac_Beth |
Jan heavily wounds the wight, which howls in pain.
Hozela fires a barrage of magic missiles at the wight as well:
force damage: 3d4 + 3 ⇒ (2, 3, 2) + 3 = 10
De'arv'ki moves up and shoots her crossbow again, this time at the wight:
1d20 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 9
Nope
Yessai also attacks the wight three times:
1d20 + 6 ⇒ (19) + 6 = 25
crit confirmation: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (15) + 6 = 21 Nope
2d8 + 2 ⇒ (4, 2) + 2 = 8
1d20 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9
1d20 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 1 = 12
The wight staggers, barely conscious. Chunks of his flesh are falling off and he can just manage to remain standing.
The other attempts to break free of the restrains Gemheart had placed on her:
strength check: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8
And when that doesn't work, she tries again:
strength check: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16
The save DC was 18, right?
Gemheart's entanglement is very powerful, though, and the wight remains restrained.
Hathnor piles more thwacking onto the already-injured wight:
1d20 + 13 ⇒ (12) + 13 = 25
1d8 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
At last, the first wight crumples into dust, utterly destroyed!
Wight 1 is out.
But now, the southeast door finally bursts open, and out run two more creatures. These are wight-ified rats, two of the same rats you destroyed a few moments earlier. Behind them, another chamber holds six coffins, two of which hold the other two dead rats!
"Fools!"
The non-rat wight hisses
"Those who meet death's embrace in this chamber shall join our ranks!"
Mundarion fires his bow again:
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10
but misses.
The map has been updated, including a new chamber. It is now Krezen's turn.

Gemheart |

from last turn Gemheart was in I45, so he is going to move over to M48 and then repeat his last move (blasting through enemies) to appear in N56. His blasty form should pass through all enemies in the current room that are visible.
0 SP for 5d4 damage, +1 SP for Energy Leap //REF 18 for half damage. If it matters, stone blast ignores SR and doesn't count as magic in any way (so can penetrate globe of invulnerability and such). It's bludgeoning damage though so DR would apply.
bludgeoning dmg: 5d6 ⇒ (3, 5, 1, 5, 1) = 15
The sphere on one wight remains, hopefully killing it.
piercing: 8d4 ⇒ (2, 4, 2, 2, 4, 3, 1, 1) = 19

Deranged_Maniac_Beth |
Wight 2 reflex: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (16) + 7 = 23
Rat 5 reflex: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 9
The final rat dies, and it fades in a puff of black smoke as its soul drifts to the southeast chamber.
Rat Wight 1 reflex: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16
Rat Wight 2 reflex: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 = 19
The two rat wights are seriously injured, but the far more powerful non-rat wight still has some fight left in her.
Jan's turn.

Jan Carpenter |

Jan steps out from behind the corner and strikes at the wight with his staff.
5' step to M49 and then full attack, fighting defensively AC is currently 27. Not a sneak attack.

Deranged_Maniac_Beth |
Jan smashes the wight and her skeleton starts to crumble, but she's still holding together. Jan's next two hits don't seem to have much effect.
Hozela moves forwards and fires another round of magic missiles at the wight:
force damage: 3d4 + 3 ⇒ (1, 3, 3) + 3 = 10
The wight looks about ready to shatter--she's about as close to destroyed as she can be while still conscious.
De'arv'ki fires at the wight:
1d20 + 8 ⇒ (8) + 8 = 16
to no avail.
Yessai moves forwards and strikes at the wight as well:
1d20 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7
but her aim is even worse than De's.
The wight tries yet again to break free of her restraints:
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (18) + 7 = 25
Finally free from Gemheart's restraints, the wight turns and prepares to flee.
Meanwhile, Hathnor moves forwards and attacks the wight:
1d20 + 13 ⇒ (14) + 13 = 27
1d8 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 9
At long last, the wight is destroyed! As her body crumples into nothingness, her spirit rises upwards, though the ceiling and towards the top of the Pyramid.
The Rat Wights, meanwhile, are still kicking. The fifth and final Rat Wight climbs out of their coffin.
The first two rat wights dart up and bite at Hathnor:
rat wight 1: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 19
rat wight 2: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10
But neither of them can penetrate his armor. The next to rat wights run up behind them.
Mundarion fires an arrow at the first rat wight:
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12
but misses.
And now we are back to Krezen's turn, followed immediately by Gemheart and then Jan.

Gemheart |

KREZENBOT
Krezen 5' steps over Sorjla to attack the rat-wights with his Bardiche.

Gemheart |

Gemheart mirror's Krezen, 5' stepping forward to unleash attacks on the nearest rat-wight.

Jan Carpenter |

"The only thing I like worse than being bitten by a live rat... is being bitten by a dead one."
Jan polevaults over the two rats in front of him and lands behind the rat south of Hathnor.
Tumbling through enemy space to N 51 for a -5 penalty to acrobatics. Using daredevil boots for +5.
acrobatics: 1d20 + 14 - 5 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 14 - 5 + 5 = 32 Yeah that should do it.
He strikes the rat from behind with his quarterstaff.
Single attack, flanking, fighting defensively, with power attack. We still have haste and a inspire courage, right?
To hit: +2 flank, -2 fighting defensively, -2 power attack, +1 haste, +2 inspire courage, +3 divine favor = Total +4
quarterstaff: 1d20 + 13 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 13 + 4 = 23

quarterstaff damage: 1d6 + 7 + 1d6 + 10 + 3d6 ⇒ (6) + 7 + (3) + 10 + (3, 6, 6) = 41 (15 is sneak attack damage)
AC is now 28 because of haste and fighting defensively.

Jan Carpenter |

Oh, also, I've been forgetting: I apply a debilitation when I hit something with a sneak attack (not sure if that's a hit though). In this case if I hit I will apply the disoriented condition to the rat which gives it a -2 on attack to hit anyone and an additional -2 to hit me.

Deranged_Maniac_Beth |
Krezen destroys the two closest rat wights with ease, while Gemheart dispatches the fourth one. Jan moves forward and downs the penultimate rat. The sole remaining rat wight is still in the corner of the inner chamber. Having just come out of their coffin, the rat wight turns around and crawls back into its hole, seeing no reason to fight a battle it has no hope of winning.
Rat Wight 5 burrows under the coffin at W58. If you want to chase after it and try to finish it off, you can. Otherwise, this encounter ends. Finally!

Jan Carpenter |

Jan steps over to Sorjla, and presses his hand one her wound.
Casting cure serious wounds.
CSW: 3d8 + 6 ⇒ (7, 6, 7) + 6 = 26
"How's that? Can you stand?" he asks.
Once he is assured that she is all right, he gets up and looks around with the others.
perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (14) + 8 = 22

Deranged_Maniac_Beth |
Searching the area for valuables reveals:
One wight carried a pair of warhammers, whilst the other carried a halberd. The wight with the halberd also had a belt which glows with some sort of magic.
Each wight carried a pouch which each contained two potions. Searching the coffins in the side chamber reveal six more potions and a scroll. There are no coins, gems, or valuable art objects to be found here; any such valuables that these undead acquired were kept by their lord. There's also no sign of the final wight rat--just some inanimate skeletons of rats and various humanoids.
Now, assuming those of you who make the perception check tell those of you who don't, anyone should be able to make the spellcraft/psicraft check for each of the magic items. I'm putting them outside of the perception spoiler to make this post easier to read.
Blinking, Sorjla stands up.
"Yes, thank you, Jan. And everyone else, too. I was very nearly made into a wight, and without thee I would surely have perished. You risked your lives protecting me, which is more than most would have done. I can heal thee further now."
I've lost track of how much healing everyone needs--Sorjla can probably Chanel Energy/convert low-level slots until everyone is at full hit-points.
"What the Splinter of Karavakos had done to those wights was simply cruel. As wights, they kept all their memories of life, yet the Splinter kept them enslaved to his will, with nerry a chance for them to resist. I am grateful to have escaped such a fate, as, I imagine, are the now-destroyed wights."

Jan Carpenter |
