OK, I'll let this one slide, but in the future you must be able to see your subject to cast aid spells.
You can gather up the troll and troll hound bodies and torch them, before searching the area.
You see hunks of meat hanging from meat hooks attached to an old staff, a small amulet depicting a gagged skull, a torn guard's uniform, and several stacks of troll plunder.
These contain:
a pair of bellows
a shovel
a sledge
a battered tankard
several pretty stones
208 gp
345 sp
a spyglass (on the body of the boss troll]

Wow, no luck on any of those.
Vertielle shrugs, casting detect magic, and then shrugging again.

The_Ninja_DM |

The doorway further in is blocked by a huge pile of -stuff- anything that was in this gatehouse seems to have been piled against the door. It will take around a half-hour to clear.
Once cleared, the gates swing open revealing a broad stone terrace with no railings along its edges. To the north, a narrow stone bridge arches above a waterfall that drops into the river 200' below.
The terrace is occupied, however, buy yet another troll with a trollhound on a leash. it seems to have been studying the manse cross the bridge. as you enter it turns' startled, and dropps the leash, ordering the hound to attack!
NOTE: The squares on the terrace are 10' squares as well, but the ones on the bridge are only 5' squares

Vertielle draws her wand, leveling it at the troll.

Rova |

Rova closes on the trollhound (since Ghirkan seems to hogging all the troll..), and attempts to split it longwise with his nodachi..

Damage: 2d8 + 8 ⇒ (5, 6) + 8 = 19

Rova delivers on his promised action, dealing a nearly mortal wound to the beast.

Vertielle Siepar |

Vertielle looks at the wand with a disdained expression of exasperation, and shoves it back into its sheath, holding her longsword now with two hands.
She takes a purposeful step forwards, keeping her sword in front of her.

Aid Another, Combat Expertise: 1d20 + 4 - 1 ⇒ (1) + 4 - 1 = 4
Wow, fall on my face. Classy.

The_Ninja_DM |

Since Vertielle used her wand on the troll I'm going to assume Eva attacked the trollhound along with Rova. next time list your target Eva.
With Eva's aid the trollhound goes down.
whether or not it tagged Rova depends on if he hit as well.
Round 3: the remaining troll tries once more to take out Gkirkhan.

Waiting on if we're out of combat before dropping rage.

The_Ninja_DM |

Between Gkirkhan and Eva, the final troll falls, clearing the way to cross the bridge. Unfortunately...
The bridge appears to be occupied. There is a very ugly dog standing guard on the bridge, most likely the reason the trolls chose not to cross.
And by very ugly...I mean a flesh golem hound.
What now?

Vertielle Siepar |

Wow, that's a lot uglier than these first couple, Vertielle observes.
She tucks the wand into her belt and draws her sword through the air, the magic making a low hum as it cuts the air. With a flourish, she gets ready to charge.

The_Ninja_DM |

The slender (10' wide) stone bridge arches gracefully over a roaring waterfall here, linking the gate house to a fortified manor house clinging to the cliff on the far side. From here you can see a rope bridge leading from somewhere behind the manse to a large building built along the cliff wall on the far side of the waterfall, as a tower of some sort peaks out against a far cliff behind the manse.
A point of note; the bridge to the manse has no handrails.
What my RL players had to say about the lack of OSHA standards in local construction is not suitable for a family-friendly board, btw. ;)

Barely connecting, but still solid enough to end it.

"I' got da adamantine ta do a numb'r on it. Lemme try dis."
Rova moves onto the bridge, and will swing at the Frankenweenie..

Gkirkhan leaps forward and hammers and hacks at the ugly dog-thing.
Only to wonder what he's doing wrong as the blows aren't hitting like he knows they should.

Vertielle jogs forward, skirting the dog's reach, and looks for an opening.

Vertielle Siepar |

Vertielle winces as Rova is hit, but steps aside and whaps the hound on the side to draw its attention.
Fight Defensive, aid Gkirkhan's AC, flank with Rova: 1d20 + 4 - 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 - 4 = 10
Nailed it! My new AC is 21, Gkirkhan's is 18.

The_Ninja_DM |

OK, GM goofed. I misread the stat block for the hound, even after I copied it directly.it only gets ONE attack; either the bite or the slam, so...Rova did not get hit. My bad, sorry. Note, this means Eva doesn't need to cast the clw on Rova. Continue the beat-down on that poor doggie.
