DM Ninja/infinite

Holiday's over folks, let's finish this mutt off!

Being enlarged, Gkirkan may have been able to swing as the doggie approached? Happy memorial day DM -- thx for your service

Half-orc
Normal:
HP: 14/14 AC 17/13/14: F+3, R +3, W -2, Per:-2, Init: +3

Bea: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9

Seig: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 18

Two whiffs from the Gkirkster.

AC 21b - 11t - 20ff; HP: 44/44; PP: 2/2

Rova will try again on the whole bisect-the-monster-hound-dog thing..

Expending psionic focus to power Psionic Weapon feat..

Attack: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (14) + 10 = 24
Damage: 2d8 + 2d6 + 7 ⇒ (8, 6) + (4, 4) + 7 = 29

..and makes a rather good attempt at it!

DM Ninja/infinite

Dex: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (10) + 0 = 10

Between dodging Gkirkhan's strikes and ducking directly into Rova's strike, the golem hound slips and falls off the bridge. Apparently, it can't fly nor (hopefully) climb.

If you haven't already, level up and we'll move forward.

DM Ninja/infinite

Moving forward:

The arched bridge ends at a small cobbled terrace with a curious-looking iron door depicting a scowling sun being devoured by ravenous clouds. To the left, two hundred feet below, a huge waterfall plummets into the depths.

Evangline Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (20) + 8 = 28
Gkirkhan Perception: 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (14) - 2 = 12
Rova Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (2) + 8 = 10
Vertielle Perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (15) + 10 = 25
Wood Perception: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 1 = 19

Per 20:
There is a hidden bell-pull hanging by the eastern side of the door

Female Assimar (with Ulfen blood) Cleric(Theologian) 4 / Monk(Spirit Master) 2

"Looks like a ringer is here on the right.
So should we ring, knock, or sneak in?"

"This is a bad man if he puts trolls out here. Let us sneak in if we can open the door. Rova can cut anything with his special weapon."

Female Half-Elf Bard (Archivist) 5/ Pathfinder Chronicler 1 (hp 49/49; AC 18/14/14; 15/15 rounds)

I agree. In fact, even using the door might be a poor idea before we know what's behind it.

Half-orc
Normal:
HP: 14/14 AC 17/13/14: F+3, R +3, W -2, Per:-2, Init: +3

"Oh sure! Rova ken cut enyting!" Gkirkhan fumes.

Hey guys, did ya miss me?

Female Half-Elf Bard (Archivist) 5/ Pathfinder Chronicler 1 (hp 49/49; AC 18/14/14; 15/15 rounds)

I've missed this whole damn game! Let's go!

Wood smiles: "Rova can cut anything, but Gkirkan can gut anything!!"

Female Assimar (with Ulfen blood) Cleric(Theologian) 4 / Monk(Spirit Master) 2

Eva adds with some sarcasmism
"And you presume I can heal anything?"

Half-orc
Normal:
HP: 14/14 AC 17/13/14: F+3, R +3, W -2, Per:-2, Init: +3

"If he seyz he ken, Hy vould like to see hem try."

Gkirkhan says before muttering under his breath. Something about demon doggies and stupid unfair magic.

Female Half-Elf Bard (Archivist) 5/ Pathfinder Chronicler 1 (hp 49/49; AC 18/14/14; 15/15 rounds)

Vertielle shrugs.
Well, Rova, have at it then.
Hey, Gkirk, do you want this magic sword? It ought to even the odds, eh?

Half-orc
Normal:
HP: 14/14 AC 17/13/14: F+3, R +3, W -2, Per:-2, Init: +3

I know there's Rova's admantine sword and Gkirkhan's sword that he got from Vertielle, so which sword is she referring to?

Female Half-Elf Bard (Archivist) 5/ Pathfinder Chronicler 1 (hp 49/49; AC 18/14/14; 15/15 rounds)

+1 keen longsword. I had taken it earlier, but now that I'm mostly using my whip in one hand and a wand in the other, it's really just going to sit on my hip. Better that someone swing it at stuff.
I may have given it to you earlier, heh.

Female Half-Elf Bard (Archivist) 5/ Pathfinder Chronicler 1 (hp 49/49; AC 18/14/14; 15/15 rounds)
Gkirkhan wrote:
Alright, we can sell the +1 handaxe and Gkirkhan can take the +1 Keen Longsword. If anyone has issues with him having the sword, we can figure something out.

Whhhoooops. Nevermind xP

Female Half-Elf Bard (Archivist) 5/ Pathfinder Chronicler 1 (hp 49/49; AC 18/14/14; 15/15 rounds)

Vertielle checks around the handle, under the doorjam with a small reflective dagger, and pokes at the frame before she unrolls a leather tool set on the stone. From it she pulls a long, thin metal device, and a small spraybottle. She hums under her breath as she works on the lock. Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (15) + 6 = 21
Open Lock, Taking 20: 20 + 8 = 28
Stealth: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (16) + 9 = 25
When finished, she slowly eases open the door and peeks inside.
Assuming I don't find any traps, obviously.

DM Ninja/infinite

You really should have detected for magic; otherwise only Trapfinding locates magical traps.

As Vertielle fiddles with the door, you hear a sound,a loud rush of wind that builds up behind you. As you turn, you see, appearing behind you, a huge cloud-like creature with dark hollows reminiscent of eyes and a mouth, as a howling wind whips it into ominous shapes.

Countdown: 1

Initative:
Evangline Initiative: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
Gkirkhan Initative: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8
Rova Initiative: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23
Vertielle Initiative: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 1 = 20
Wood Initiative: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 = 15
the monster Initiative: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (4) + 13 = 17

Round 1:
Rova
Vertielle
monster
Wood
Gkirkhan
Eva

What are your positions? You're in E-H, 27-30. The monster is forming about 30' away.

Female Assimar (with Ulfen blood) Cleric(Theologian) 4 / Monk(Spirit Master) 2

"Oh boy, that does not look like it's here to let us in?"

Half-orc
Normal:
HP: 14/14 AC 17/13/14: F+3, R +3, W -2, Per:-2, Init: +3

Put me in F30, Gkirkhan is smart enough to know he's not sneaky.

"VHAT IS VIT DESE VIZARDS!" Gkirkhan exclaims, just before attacking in frothing fury.

Rage, then smash with hammer

Attack 1 Beate (PA, Reckless Abandon, 2 hands): 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (8) + 14 = 22
Damage: 1d8 + 17 ⇒ (3) + 17 = 20
If allowed a full attack
Attack 2 Beate (PA, Reckless Abandon, 2 hands): 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (14) + 9 = 23
Damage: 1d8 + 17 ⇒ (8) + 17 = 25

If he can't Pound on it, he'll charge if able.

Current AC: 14 (12 if charging)

Female Half-Elf Bard (Archivist) 5/ Pathfinder Chronicler 1 (hp 49/49; AC 18/14/14; 15/15 rounds)

...actually I can detect magical traps, but I should have detected anyways. Magic Lore (Ex) gives me the ability to detect and disable magical traps as the rogue's trapfinding ability. I'll put a summary of all SQ in my character sheet for reference.

Quick, everyone inside! Vertielle exclaims as a froth-mouthed Gkirkhan goes running full-tilt towards the creature.
She slaps her hand to her head and shakes it slowly.

Female Assimar (with Ulfen blood) Cleric(Theologian) 4 / Monk(Spirit Master) 2

"Let's hope that thing can not pass through doors."

Female Half-Elf Bard (Archivist) 5/ Pathfinder Chronicler 1 (hp 49/49; AC 18/14/14; 15/15 rounds)

I'd feel a lot more comfortable trying to fight it while it passes through the door, rather than trying to fly after it... Vertielle mutters.

DM Ninja/infinite

I HATE the DC's in this AP so far. I'm going to allow it, but the actual DC to open is 30! You're not THAT safe, though. ;)

shortcut:
The easiest way to bypass everything is to have someone wear that guard uniform back in the gatehouse. If you do, everything here thinks you're expected.

With a little bit of inspiration (Huge Air Elementals will do that) you burst open the door and rush in.

This room is huge, dominated by the stone fireplace on the north wall. Above the fireplace hangs a portrait, probably of the Count. Three doors line the walls, one on either side of the fireplace and one on the east wall at the foot of a staircase leading up to a balcony. You can see two doors on the north wall of the balcony as well.

Since he's first the still-enlarged Rova can grab and drag the frothing Gkirkhan in with you as the rest of you slam the door on the elemental. You have time enough for a sigh of relief before a thing emerges from under the stairs and charges at you!

While this construct is predominately a thing of metal and wire, as it lopes toward you you realize it has some organic parts as well. though they seem more decoration than purposeful.

Round 1:
Rova
Vertielle
Air Elemental
Construct
Wood
Gkirkhan
Eva

Hobbling Hook-Clawed Apparatus init: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (17) - 1 = 16

New Monster vs: 1d5 ⇒ 1

Eva=1, Gkirkhan=2, Rova=3, Vertielle=4, Wood=5

As you slam the door shut, you hear the air elemental slam against it.

slams: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (20) + 17 = 37 for damage: 2d6 + 6 - 10 ⇒ (5, 1) + 6 - 10 = 2

Meanwhile, the clawed -thing- tries to gut Eva.

slam: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (8) + 9 = 17 for damage: 1d8 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13

Note: the construct has a hardness of 10 and the air elemental has DR5/-

Can I at least keep my rolls?

DM Ninja/infinite

Sure.

Oh. Oh, dear.
Knowledge: 1d20 ⇒ 2
Apparently I don't know squat. About anything xD
Anyone think elementals don't like constructs? Could wait to open the door xD

Then Gkirkhan rages and hammers away on the construct.

Wood rushes inside and touches Gkirkan with his wand, which enlarges Gkirkan.

DM Ninja/infinite

Gkirkahn vs the construct thingie:
Beate 1: 20-10=10; Beate 2: 25-10=15 for a total of 25

construct thingie:

AC 16/T8/ff16
HP: 54-25=29
Hardness 10

Female Half-Elf Bard (Archivist) 5/ Pathfinder Chronicler 1 (hp 49/49; AC 18/14/14; 15/15 rounds)

Vertielle observes the clanking animatron for a few moments before dashing in to lend a hand.
Trip: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (7) + 10 = 17
With a crack, the whip snakes outwards, wrapping around one of the supports. With a tug, and all of her weight thrown into the handle of the whip, the construct slowly lumbers to the ground. I think.

CMB and CMD are modified by BAB, so I don't think a 17's going to cut it. But that's up to the GM

Gkirkhan wrote:

...as well as DEX. A standard animated object has a CMD of just 15. If anything, it is close. I can hope.

AC 21b - 11t - 20ff; HP: 44/44; PP: 2/2

Rova, in a rare burst of haste, scrambles to squeeze through the door before he ends up blocking it for everyone else.

IF he'll fit - with a Enlarge spell, he's pushing 16' tall. GM, is this a normal sized door, or some grand entryway? Will I need to squeeze to get in?

Once the new -thing- starts towards the group, Rova mutters under his breath "Be our guest, my &%^$&!!"

Attack: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (8) + 11 = 19 <- Adamantite, slash, magic
Damage: 2d8 + 10 ⇒ (2, 4) + 10 = 16

I ignore hardness less that 20, I believe.

Rova begins pruning back the pointed hooking 'leaves' of this animated artificial ficus plant..

DM Ninja/infinite

Sorry, Vertielle, this one isn't standard. CMD 20!Rova, it's a Grand Entry! 20' wide at the minimum.

While Gkirkan's blows, much to his dismay, don't do the damage he was hoping for, he still puts a hurt on it, followed up by Rova's attack.

Note: 10 hardness; Gkirkhan does 20-10=10 plus 25-10=15 => 25

Construct: HP 59-25=34-16=18

Female Assimar (with Ulfen blood) Cleric(Theologian) 4 / Monk(Spirit Master) 2

Eva kick back at the thing

atk1: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (16) + 6 = 22
atk2: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7

Damage1: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8
Damage2: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4

Female Half-Elf Bard (Archivist) 5/ Pathfinder Chronicler 1 (hp 49/49; AC 18/14/14; 15/15 rounds)

Vertielle lets out a few curses any dignified Ustalavian woman would blush to hear as she drags herself stubbornly across the floor attempting to get the better of the metal monster. At last, huffing indignantly, she gives up and lets the sword people do the hitting.

DM Ninja/infinite

Round 1:
Rova
Vertielle
Air Elemental
Construct
Wood
Gkirkhan
Eva

Female Half-Elf Bard (Archivist) 5/ Pathfinder Chronicler 1 (hp 49/49; AC 18/14/14; 15/15 rounds)

I think I took my turn early, but if it's up to me again then I use aid another to Gkirhan's AC and try to flank with Rova.
Aid defensively: 1d20 + 10 - 2 ⇒ (10) + 10 - 2 = 18
New AC is 20 for me

Wood's next move is using the wand of protection from evil on Gkirkan.

Female Assimar (with Ulfen blood) Cleric(Theologian) 4 / Monk(Spirit Master) 2

Depending on what it does, Eva may do something else

Hallo!

DM Ninja/infinite

Hi! How are you doing? Glad you're back. Also, Rova's ill. I think he'll be able to post tomorrow, but see if you can off that construct first. So, hit it already!

Wood: Arcana DC 15:
It's a guardian construct. it's most likely neutral, not evil
