@Adahlia, Jankins, & Cormaeg: you've already taken your actions for this turn, so I'll wait until Turn Three to apply those. Black still has to go this turn.

TURN 4

Locke technically goes first but since he and his opponent are currently out of sight I'll do the rest of the actions so far.

Alfred's shot catches the xeno in the chest, but once again the creature seemingly shrugs off the wound without trouble. Another shot from Jankins strikes nearly the same spot and this time it stumbles, but still it comes. Adahlia's knuckles are white from her grip on the lasgun and she rushed her shot--three bolts fly wide of the relentlessly closing creature.

When Sgt. MacCammon revs up that chainsword, though, that gets the creature's attention. The sergeant steps forward and makes his challenge, and the xeno howls in delight. Skidding a few feet on the plascrete as it abruptly changes direction the ugly green xeno rushes the sergeant, heavy blade raised overhead!

Charge! WS vs 54: 1d100 ⇒ 20 4 DoS Damage: 1d10 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10 Pen2

Going to wait to do the other ork's turn until after Locke has had a chance to act. Axel Black still has his action for Turn 4.

The elderly sergeant meets the Ork's attack head on, quickly lifting his chain sword to parry or at least deflect the ugly weapon coming for his head.
Parry +10/Balanced blade: 1d100 ⇒ 43

Grunting, he catches the attack just barely, his knees nearly giving out under the onslaught.

Locke dodges the attack and rolls away far enough to engulf him with the exterminator attachment, pouring a short burst of flames in between the trucks towards the xenos. While doing this he warns his squad New Xenos type contact on my position.

Just a note, if you're not using the Withdraw action (which would prevent you from using the flamer) you'll provoke an AoE. You okay with that?

As Cormaeg has already started round 5 (I think?) here comes mine as well!
Fighting down the guardsmen urge to jump up and rush at the Sergeants side with a bayonet on his lasgun, he instead takes careful aim at the Ork swinging at Cormaeg while continuing his squabble with the medic which helps him focusing.
"Oh, I am sorry to have to tell you this Adhalia, but he seems to favor men!"
Overloaded Aim, Single, Close range, Comrade, into Melee 46+10+10+10+5-20=61: 1d100 ⇒ 45
The careful aim payes off and he is able to hit the beast in between his wild swings square on the chest without hitting the Sgt.

Storm Trooper

I didn't clarify i suppose, i have acrobatics, guess i combined it with the dodge? to achieve what I was going for. The skill has a special use, disengage for half action with +0 AG test, but since it was my dodge that i made the action in, maybe it works maybe it doesnt. Firing is only a half action. I pictured dodge being able to dodge up to your AG bonus in meters, as in AOE attacks, so I just envisioned my dodge from his attack being a few meters, which would be point blank range for my weapon. Didn't really think I was "engaged" in melee with him because i wasn't attacking with melee...Kind of like he came at me, i sidestep (or "all out dodge") just seemed like I would have room to maneuver and fire..I/you can roll another AG test, but let me know what you think about my thoughts above and how you'd play it out. Something I have to consider in the games I GM and would like a second opinion. Either way I want to attack, so resolve as you like. Hopefully the flame attack is shooting away from me and won't catch me on fire too? 10m range.

Rolling in with some thoughts and some rule-clubbing:
The original rule about beeing engaged in melee states:
"If an attacking character is adjacent to his target, both the character and his target are considered to be engaged in melee."
So I guess if anyone is attacking you in melee you are considered being in melee, regardless if you were able to dodge or not.
With the acrobatic special use you can indeed get out of combat as a half action and you may take a half move (so your agi-bonus in m) away from the target as in Disengage-action.
So in my opinion, you would do another agi-test to disengage then grill the enemy.
Note, that you only ever can dodge flame attacks if you can get out of the range with a half move (=agi-bonus in m). So if you bath someone nearly point blank with a flamer, he most likely CAN NOT dodge the flamer at all as he would not be able to escape the flamer range.
Take our flamer with 10m range, so if you stand in the middle, you would have to move at least 5m to escape the flame, which would require an agi score of >=50, which no one here (including the ork) has...

Silver Crusade

I'm going to rule that the Dodge reaction and Acrobatics special action are separate things using separate skills and thus need a separate test. So one more AG test from Locke for the Withdrawal and we're good.

Also I think the Sergeant is still on Round 5, the Parry is a Reaction in response to the melee attack. I'll save Jankins' latest action until Black has gone & everyone's on the same page.

Male Human Retired Fleet Admiral

Sorry about that, I was a little lost where we were to be honest.

Gritting his teeth, Sergeant MacCammon digs deep for some more strength, then he surges back to his full height.
As he does, he lashes out at the Ork, making sure that his attack is well aimed and still leaving no obvious openings for a counter attack.

With a victorious cry, Cormaeg's chainsword chews through the arm of the vile xeno confronting him. The saw-blades tear deep into the green flesh of its arm, and with a pained shriek the creature drops its heavy machete. Toughness vs : 1d100 ⇒ 82 Adahlia and Jankins swiftly rush to their sergeant's defense, bayonets plunging deep and the greenskin is buried under a flurry of razor-edged stabs.

Ork is currently Prone, with 2 levels of Fatigue, and suffering Blood Loss. Given that the other is on Fire & has a lousy Agility score, let's just move into "mopping up" mode. Don't forget that Jankins' flame-blast set the canvas tarp on the truck alight!

Storm Trooper

Thought that was Locke's flame that set the trucks' tarp on fire...speaking of which, we're in mop up mode, but should I be concerned with it? Is it flammable and spreading or just small and insignifcant? You mentioned it, so probably something, just not sure if I need to be running or I got time for some roleplay with the body...He had something on him and didn't think I could see him, very peculiar, but I might not have time to do much..or I can drag it away...?

Silver Crusade

My bad, yes it was Locke who flamed the ork. He's technically still writhing on the ground, I assumed you would stab him a few times as part of the mop-up. The body is burning pretty heavily, but if you wanted to use your bayonet to stab a limb & drag him that way you can. The canvas cover for the truck bed is also on fire, currently the flame is small but promethium is notorious spreading quickly and all the other trucks have canvas covers too...

Male Brawler WS 47, BS 34, S 41, T 52, Ag 32, Int 30, Per 26, WP 38, Fel 39, Wounds 16/16, FP 2/4

Wasting no time, Cormaeg hurries over to the truck.
Using the spinning teeth of his sword, he proceeds to cut the tethers holding the tarp in place on the truck.
"Come on you lot, help me get this off before the fire spreads!"

Female Medic | WS 28; BS 37; S 30; T 33; Ag 36; Int 43; Per 33; Wil 41; Fel 34; W 10/10; Fate 5/5

Adahlia moves in to aid cutting the tarp loose, once its cut free and on the ground shouldn't be hard to stamp out.

"Locke, Jankins, how about you keep an eye out for more Orks, don't want to be surprised while we're firefighting." Adahlia glances to MacCammon to check she's not overstepping her bounds.

Storm Trooper

Locke drags the Ork out and away from the trucks, still alive, but burning. Get me some of that tarp to put this fire out, this one is special... Afterwards he updates his squad on what happened. This one speaks Gothic and was covered in something that it thought made him invisible. It's probably burned off by now, but this clever little f+~$er thought he had me, much to his suprise, StormTroopers aren't your average soldier. he says smiling at the xenos and giving him a little kick, not wanting the relief from being caught on fire to be too brief. He was clever enough to set a trap, he might have some useful intel if he lives long enough....Tough little bastards as we've seen....Or you can just end it, up to you Srg.

Protocol for the Astra Militarum is many things, but on Xenos lifeforms it is unequivocal: such entities are by their very nature heretical, and are to be purged on sight. Captured xenos that are taken alive are to be immediately rendered to the Commissariat followed by a thorough screening for "heretical contamination," though you're not exactly sure what that means...

Male Brawler WS 47, BS 34, S 41, T 52, Ag 32, Int 30, Per 26, WP 38, Fel 39, Wounds 16/16, FP 2/4

Cormaeg taps his bayonet meaningfully and nods at Locke.

Storm Trooper

Roger that Srg, don't need no commisar up our asses. Locke says disappointedly, and finishes off the xenos with his own bayonet.

Silver Crusade

Once cut free of the truck, the burning canvass tarp is consumed upon the hard plascrete ground a safe distance from the other trucks. As Locke executes the blackened & feebly twitching Ork the squad slowly realizes that the sounds of battle have largely faded--the chatter of autocannons and heavy bolters can still be heard, but infrequently, and the snap-crack of lasfire is almost entirely absent.

The jog to Flak-Tower Seven is uneventful, though as you pass the cross-streets of the depot you can see flatbed vehicles and servitor crews moving this way and that, and you pass two manned autocannon nests atop the wall, and soon the tower is sight.

Thin tendrils of smoke are rising from fire-ports in the tower's flanks, and three of the Hydra Turret's four barrels are bent and twisted under the ruined bulk of some bizzare-looking xeno vehicle, bristling with a nonsensical array of thrusters and propellers, and the unmoving form of one of the xenos can be seen in what might charitably be called the cockpit.

At the tower's base your attention is drawn to half a dozen soldiers in standard-issue flak armor--what little exposed skin you can see is covered in a complex lattice of scars on men and women alike. They bear long, curved combat machetes in baldrics slung across their backs, and several lascarbines are leaned in a neat row against the tower's ferrocrete wall. The soldiers are dragging several Ork corpses towards a pile of burnt and mangled greenskins stacked against the depot wall. Opposite the street from the xeno dead are four body-bags--four more martyrs

Common Lore [Imperial Guard] if anyone wants to try to recognize the troopers' regiment

As you jog into view, the scarred soldiers see you coming, and one of the women goes to the flak-towers door--bent and nearly wrenched from its frame, you notice--and after a moment, another soldier appears. He's as scarred as the others, bears a lieutenants stripes on his armor and has a laspistol strapped to his thigh. As he wears no helmet, you can see that his right eye is cloudy, with a curved scar marring what were probably once handsome features. His expression neutral, he watches the group of you approach.

MacCammon:

Though you've never met them, the ritual scarification of the Brontian Longknives were a popular topic of rumors in the staging grounds before your assignment to Skrynne. Patches & gear on these troopers suggest they're a light infantry outfit, and you note two campaign patches on the lieutenants' breastplate.

The officer nods in acknowledgement to Sgt. MacCammon. Turning his head slightly towards the woman at his side he says, "Get Harl on the vox, tell 'em to send a crew over to the truckyard."

Walking towards the squad, he reaches up to pat his left breast pocket, frowning to find it empty. With a small shrug, he surveys he group of you. "Lt. Garven Shalbut of the 44th Brontian Longknives. Welcome to our little corner of the war. From the looks of your armor, you lot didn't get left out of the xenos' little welcome party, good for you. On the other hand, vox chatter says you lot broke our wall."

As we exited the lander we were attacked and forced to defend our improvised LZ.

Lt. Shalbut lets out of a sigh. "Could be worse, I guess. At least our reinforcements have arrived. My unit has the flak tower well in hand, Sergeant, let's get your little group back to your lander. I'd like to have a word with your CO. Berk! Collis! Grab your rifles, you're with me! Rest of you hold here until I get back." With that, the lieutenant sets off back the way you came, striding with purpose.

The other two troopers--both relatively short, with close-cropped dark hair and less elaborate scarring--fall in. One of them leans over and whispers, "El-Tee might not say so to grunts, but we're all glad you lot are here. It'll be nice to have a few more fighting hands around. I'm Berk, by the way."

We'll lend you a hand fighting the emperors enemies."

After that he motions for the squad to resume following the LT.
