One can see she is still quite disturbed

Natalya Artemisa |

I've gonne through almost 50+ posts above and I did not see that anyone stated that he/she has searched the body of the killed leader of the bandits. Is that correct or I missed something? If that is true, then...
Post#258 by Raven, near the top of page 6 of this thread, she takes the stag amulet. Post#268 by me, I took the bow. However you are correct in that no-one has actually searched him aside from taking those 2 items...

Pardon my hastiness Natalya, in this case please disregard the brooch part, I am simply searching the body then.

Alexio Thraxas |

Interesting end to the combat, very cool.
Alexio tries to persevere after a night of no sleep. Fort save, DC 15: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6. He is fatigued until he sleeps it seems.
In the immediate after actions, Alexio compliments Natalya, "That was quite the strike. Where did you learn the arts of battle?"
After the battle, Alexio turns to Oleg. "Are you alright?" he asks?
After hearing all of the talk about prisoners and forced labor, Alexio snorts with derision. "I cannot believe the naiveté of you all. Of course these men claim to repent. They are bandits after all, with no honor. Their repentance will last no longer than they are in your vision. I say get the axe and end their days of banditry. With that, I guarantee that we will not be put in this position again."
It looks as if few people, if any, will agree with Alexio. After letting everybody debate more, Alexio says:
"Then the prisoners are your problem to deal with. I will ride back to the bandit's camp and put an end to the rest of them. Who is with me?"
Edit: Grammar.

Zartana |

I'm with you. Lets go have a talk to those bandits. Maybe even drag their leader back here.

Kazz D'Avore |

Kazz frowns at Alexio's comments, "You are accustomed to banditry in civilized lands. Before today the arm of the law has not been felt in these parts for some time. With no one to turn to for protection, good men can make such hard decisions."
"I do agree with Josef, a brand would be the most practical solution. I aim to give these men a second chance but if they abuse it they will suffer the consequences."
He nods to Dregan, Zartana and Alexio, "I will accompany you to capture the remaining bandits. Though I will have your words that any surrendering will be given quarter. I have no illusions about this woman who leads them but if possible we should aim to take her alive as well. She can likely provide us with invaluable information."
Begging the others to give him a moment, Kazz finds both Oleg and Svetlana. He does his best to explain the situation and convince them to take on the captured bandits, at least for the time being.
"These men are sons of this land, they can be redeemed but we will need your help. You will have the Brevish soldiers to watch over them once we must move on and several of our number go now to ensure there is no more bandit clan for them to return to. This is our chance to lay the groundwork for the future of the Stolen Lands. Will you help us?"
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 18

![]() |

The bandit leader was carrying 2 alchemist's fire, leather armour, a dagger, 20 arrows, 2 days of trail rations and 35 gold.
His bow is a composite longbow (+2 str) and of course his pin.
Each of the bandits had leather armour, shortbows, 20 arrows, short swords 2 days of trail rations and 10 gold each.
Oleg explains that the horses and the gear are yours to take. He plan to hang the corpses of the slain bandits form the outside of the southern wall as a warning to others. He will also hold onto the captured bandits until the detachment arrives from Restov.
In reward for saving his trading post he also gives each of you a bottle of bladeberry cordial from his supply. He says a local hermit brews the stuff. It is bright red and very potent, but also good for anything that ails you.

Kazz D'Avore |

Kazz thanks Oleg for all that he has agreed to.
Taking his leave he makes his way over to Raven, "You say you know these lands? We have one guide but his reliability is questionable. Care to accompany us and ensure his information is good?"
What check would we need to determine the properties of the Bladeberry cordial?

Chief White Eagle |

catching up a little
[spoiler=For Natalya, Anton, and Matsu]
his actions are not uncommon for one that has suffered much in the past. We must look at all of our actions, we captured several of these bandits, we are prepared to give them a second chance to change thier ways. Should we not offer the same chance to one of our own as well? perhaps the answer to his actions will also give answers about ourselves as well.
As for what to do next... CWE goes to the posting bulletin board and removes the parchment hanging there.
This may show promise. he says showing them the call to find out information of the Kobold cave[/b]
CWE goes to check the horses looking for a docile one that is also healthy.
handle animal skill: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22
know. nature: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 24
heal just in case that is needed: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (14) + 9 = 23
returning with a sutable mount he gives the reins to Matsu. I can show you how to ride as well, if you wish.
Also I thought of hireing one of the "Celiax" prisoners, to help tend the horses during our travels.

Anton Medvyed |

Since Raven take the amulet without any Sleight of Hand check I suppose Anton saw her from above.
Anton takes his part of the loot, not looking interested in particular gear, and claiming only few (3) extra trail-rations for himself.
Then moves near Raven: "That silver amulet, may I examine it?"
[...]
Since I don't know if I'll find a new connection until this night (GMT +1 which means 4PM or 6PM EST if mine math work properly) I'm going to continue the post with few interactions happening after the conversation with Raven
After having spoken with Raven, Anton moves to the looted horses taking all the time needed to choose one horse for Miyuki. Anton is searching for the most docile one.
Taking 20 in Handle Animal = 20 + 7 = 27
Then he goes to talk to Oleg for selling his part of the loot.
Anton is not interested in having a better price, he can even accept to sell at a 40% rate instead of 50% usual one, to help Oleg restart his local economy.
what is selling:
- Leather Armor (10 gp = 5gp if 50%, 4gp if 40%)
- Short Sword (10 gp = 5gp if 50%, 4gp if 40%)
- Shortbow (30 gp = 15gp if 50%, 12gp if 40%)
- bandit's Horse (is it a light horse or a heavy?)
- Arrows (20) (1gp = 5sp if 50%, 4sp if 40%)
what is keeping:
- Trail Rations (2+3)
- Gold (13)
- bottle of bladeberry
How many money did Anton gets from Oleg?

Anton Medvyed |

Sorry CWE I didn't saw your post while writing mine, in this way we ar going to bring 2 horses to Miyuki :-D

Matsu Miyuki |

I guess you did that together. That was one unlucky moment when booth people checked the boards together. ;-)
Miyuki will thank them booth for their help and say to CWE:"Your words are full of wisdom! You shame us! Please, Anton and you CWE, help me choose someone worthy of redemntion by duty.

![]() |

The horses are Light Riding Horses They're in fair shape, and despite not being the best horses they are accustomed to the terrain hereabouts.
Similarly the gear is patched and worn, but all of it is serviceable.
Since you all would have seen Oleg's stock last night I should mention that he has a suit of leather armour, a heavy wooden shield, two hand axes, five javelins, a longbow, two dozen arrows, a scythe, two spears, two potions of cure light wounds, a potions of shield of faith +2, two vials of antitoxin, six torches, huge amounts of jerky and other trail rations and several animla furs and pelts, including some of truly incredible size and colour.

Raven your Guide |

Raven allows Anton and her other companions to examine the stag skull pin before she places it away on her person. "I.. need this. It will lead us to their leader. At some point during your explorations, I'm more than certain we will run into more, and I'm keen to help redirect the efforts of these men and women."
Without saying more, she collects her share of the spoils from the captured bandits and goes to speak to Oleg about selling it to him.

Alexio Thraxas |

Alexio nods to Zartana, "Good to make your acquaintance, Lady. You certainly have a purpose of action about you. I do think that will make our journey together a productive one. May I also encourage you to use some of this armor that was formerly the property of these bandits? I would not want to see you injured unnecessarily. "
Once Kazz, Dregan, and Zartana are all together, Alexio nods at Kazz. "Of course I will honor a person's surrender on the battlefield, that is the correct thing to do. You did not see me cut down these men in the courtyard, after all. Do not think that this will free the vanquished from the consequences of their actions, however."
Alexio then continues, "Four of us against what is alleged to be 8 bandits. That is not the most favorable of odds. We should look for any others who are willing to make the journey." Others, feel free to chime in.
As Oleg hands out the bladeberry cordial and the rest of the bandit's gear, Alexio stops the man. "Might you have any other, non-soiled armor for sale? Traveling armor is a good idea, but I would hardly want to try to wear this set, which is quite well used." Alexio sniffs the used armor and makes a sour face.
Alexio will take the cordial, gold, and arrows as offered. He would like to trade/sell the armor, shortbow, shortsword, and rations for the new set of leather armor, some more food, and some extra waterskins. He can add gold if necessary.
Looking through the horses, Alexio selects a solid white horse, if one is there. If not, he will pick solid black. Failing that, he will go for the largest one he can get.

Zartana |

Zartana waves the armor away
Much thanks, but armor interferes with my arcane skills.

Kazz D'Avore |

Kazz returns Alexio's nod, "I didn't mean to imply any different, after some of the other's confusion earlier I merely wanted to ensure we who head out are on the same page."
At the call for more bodies, he turns to Raven once more, "What say you? Shall we put your knowledge to good use?"
Once he has a moment, Kazz will inquire after Oleg about his share of the loot. If possible, he would like to trade the entirety of his share, minus the horse, as well as the last of his money, an additional 15gp for one of Oleg's potions of Cure light Wounds.
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (15) + 7 = 22
With Ammanas trailing at his heels he will look over the collection of horses carefully before selecting a dark grey mare as his own.

Zoufbal Tashidar |

Through the open door of the trading post comes a curious duo. The first thing people tend to notice is the large, greyish brown, scaled monstrosity. Those familiar with the stories from the Mwangi Expanse or the valleys of the Realm of the Mammoth Lords might figure it for an Allosaurus.
Less obvious is the beast's rider, though once one has laid eyes on the Gnome it's hard to figure out how one could have missed him. His choice of clothes is less than flattering and the ends of his moustache are styled to points sharp enough to poke an eye out.
Nimbly the little Gnome jumps off the creature's back, "I Think we should introduce ourselves Munch." The beast nodded as if in understanding, then roared.

Hunter Deadeye |

[dice=Fort Save]1d20 + 2
Hithil walks over to Hunter. "Do not trouble yourself with their comments. I appreciate your eagerness and following through to ensure victory and safety of your friends. We shall prevail against the odds with that attitude, while others who go halfway will only succeed halfway, which is of course no success at all."
thanks, I'm trying to do the best I can do without doing the wrong thing.
Hunter will stay here until authorities arrive to put these bandits under arrest.
Kazz D'Avore |

Kazz looks at the unusual newcomer and his decidedly exotic mount with great curiosity.
Ammanas seems particularly intrigued by "Munch", the shadow creature slips along the ground to with 10ft or so of the unusual reptile. The undefined head tilting back and forth as it watches the creature intently.
Blinking repeatedly, Kazz shakes his head slightly before moving forward, "You mount seems to have captured Ammanas' attention. He's never encountered such a creature on the material plane before..."
A voice issues from the shadow creature, the sound is hollow, as if that of an echo, "Old, very old...long gone from these lands..."
Excellent, now we're all assembled!

Lorald Orlovsky |

Speaking with Oleg about unburdening himself of recent spoils. He arranges for credit if Oleg does not have the gold on hand. As well as stabling for his newly named horse Ent, who would be left behind.
Selling everything but the rations and horse came out to 25 gp and 5 sp. Let me know if I need to change that number, I will assume it is credit unless told otherwise too.

Zartana |

Zartana only keeps the horse. But out of curiosity. Horses are very new to her. The riding part.

Chief White Eagle |

CWE takes up his share as identified. he simply stores everything on Sikem.
then he goes to the "prisoners" again looking them over attempting to identify one that he feels is the most trustworthy as can be given the situation.
Not sure what to roll here. basically looking for one that probably is the least likely to be trouble and probably was with the bandits out of cohersion rather than any true malice or evil intentions.
As he looks them over he also takes some time to talk to Hunter.
some in the group were concered over you actions. I convinced them that you are a valued member of the team and we all wish for you to remain with the group.
he hands him the paper about the Kobold cave
I believe this is worth looking into. you have any thoughts or concerns?

Natalya Artemisa |

To Alexio
Natalya looks surprised you've complimented her
The church of Erastil have many skilled warriors, I was fortunate to be able to study from birth with them. No official name to the style, it's just natural, efficient, no flourishes or wasted motion. You would find it boring to watch in a duel no doubt
later
Natalya will rest for a few hours as her companions suggested.

** spoiler omitted **
Hunter speaks to CWE in private.
Hunter will then rest, he doesn't want to risk fatigue even though he isn't yet.

Chief White Eagle |

The problem lies in the fact that they do want you, I believe that you had reason for your actions, I convinced them that we need to take the time to learn those reasons. Later we will sit together by the fire, pass the peace pipe and share our stories. Until that time all are welcome and wanted. Then after, We will learn why we are needed.

Marlani Orlovsky |

Fortitude Save: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 1 = 12
Based on what Marlani has heard of the bandit's camp from Kenaniah, what is the area like around there? Any hazardous geographic features?
Knowledge Geography: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 20
Has Marlani heard the name "Kressle" before?
Knowledge Local: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14
More importantly...Marlani also mentions that her bottle of Cordial seems to be empty... *whistle*

"I always wanted my own pony. I'm going to call it Zippy-Do. Do you like your name Zippy-Do?" The horse looks at Hithil as if she is crazy. Hithil jumps on the horse. Ride: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9. Not very graceful, but successful nonetheless. "Okay Zippy-Do, are you ready for your big adventure?" The horse just remains there silently pleading for a different rider and/or name.

Anton Medvyed |

Before with Raven
"Their leader you said? That's interesting." Anton says while looking at the amulet. "Definitely not Erastilian" "But that's a good news, that's not an erethic branch of the Church, or something worst."
Knowledge Local: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7 if there is anything Antcon could knew about the Stag lord, or anything he could have heard from the locals while preparing for this journey to the Stolen Lands, or while moving in the road from Restov to Oleg's trading post.
After with Oleg
"I'll take a credit letter, you can pay me when you'll have the money, good man. And may Erastil bless you and your family"
After having dealt with Oleg Anton saw the gnome and the dinosaur at the gate
"Hello, it's been a long time. he says to both of them, and then he of course adds "And you are late, Zouf"

Matsu Miyuki |

After that she will bow and say: "There is a disharmony between us. The disharmony of misunderstanding. Of prejudice. We forgot that we have people from very diffrent cultures, from diffrent countries. It is sometimes hard in the heat of the battle to stay tranquil. I ask you for forgivness Hunter Deadeye. I saw something that felt wrong in my heart. And I voiced the feeling without asking you first. This was wrong and I humbly apologize! You have shown great skill in battle."

Hunter Deadeye |

Look if you watched me punch them, I never punch any of them more than once. And I only punched them in the face. What I was going for was a one-hit knockout punch. It is very hard to pull off, you have to hit them in the right spot just right to actually do it and with enough force. I do not believe in hurting others who have surrendered. And I do not believe in harsh cruelties, but I do believe in interrogation as long as it isn't overly cruel. I asked others to do the same, but I think they misunderstood. They thought I just wanted to hurt or torture them. I was going for the least harmful method of knocking them out, so we can tie them up without resistance. I however failed in my methods as I'm not skilled in in it yet. I have seen too many times when prisoners would try to escape or when people would say I surrender and it's a lie. I have lived under the rule of tyranny up against a tyrant and things were done differently that what they are here. Like I said, I attempted something and it failed miserably. And I forgive you all if you can forgive me. It is because I forgot to be really specific with my actions, the DM probably thought I was punching them repeatedly, when I should have said I was attempting one hit knock out punches to the face. But that is what I envisioned my character doing, the DM and everyone else probably envisioned it otherwise

Matsu Miyuki |

Miyuki will clap at Hithil.
Will I get up my horse as graceful as she did. Will it let me fall? I have never ridden before, Oh honored ancestors please prevent any shame by this humble girl!

Hunter Deadeye |

To all who watched me punch those guys. I wasn't specific with my actions. I envisioned my guy punching them in the face and each guy only once. I was attempting one-hit knockout punches. That is what I envisioned my guy doing. But because I wasn't specific, so everyone else probably envisioned me punching each guys several times. So yeah, I only hit each guy only once or as many as I got to, I never hit a single one more than once. The DM probably didn't envision it the way I did either, and I didn't realize until now what everyone else was envisioning versus what I was envisioning simply because I wasn't specific.

Chief White Eagle |

CWE never took payment for the furs he brought and he will not accept any after hearing of Oleg's situation. He also did not sell any of hi share of the loot. the weapons and armor may be needed to outfit our "prisoner" / helper whne such a time comes that we can trust him fully

Hunter Deadeye |

Sorry Hunter but Kazz would demand you cut that s&$# out regardless.
It wasn't an issue of how many times you were punching the surrendered peasants begging mercy...
True, but they couldn't have begged mercy if my guy did it just right. If they are knocked out in one hit, they wouldn't feel pain and would beg mercy. You could take it as my character attempted a fighting style combat move but failed miserably in his attempts. Anybody who watched me carefully and any character that knows how to do this knows exactly what I was trying to do.

Valkus Lebeda |

People seem to be resting. Is there going to be a rest before we head off to the bandit camp, or should only those who are still fresh go? If we're moving out immediately, Valkus will go along out of necessity, but otherwise he'll stay at the trading post.
Valkus will keep all the loot except for the extra set of armor.

Natalya Artemisa |

To my group during the tea ceremony
Hunter, beating prisoners that have offered no resistance is not a good act, no matter your justifications. You will never convince me otherwise. That being said, I am working with a team that includes you, and the team feels that you still have a place here. So I will abide by that reasoning. This does not mean I approve of your actions, but in this ceremony I will say that I will work with you as a teammate despite them.

Hunter Deadeye |

To Natalya: during the ceremony
I won't do it again, but if someone in the group has a suggestion, I would be willing to hear it. Especially if it ensures people won't try to escape. If you have a suggestion to be sure how to prevent someone from escaping, I would be interested in hearing it. I'm sorry. But I can learn from my mistakes. Like I said, I don't believe in cruelty or harm to anyone who is not a threat.

Anton Medvyed |

Using the name I and Miyuki proposed for our team for simplicity
"We all have differents stories, different cultures, but we need to know each others to became a group. What you did, Hunter, was evil in mine culture, but I can understand it's not in yours. Just tying them was sufficient for the majority of the humans cultures. I'm not judging you, but the others who saw you probably will do, including our guests."
Anton drink his tea for a second, then he speaks again to the group
"What we need to find is our unity, a way to bond each other, to form the base for a future community. Let's start with a name for our group. A name is a way to give us an identity as team. A name is a first step."
leaving the IC propose for the name to Miyuki, if she wishes.
