About Hithil
Background:
Hithil was born to proud elven parents in northern Brevoy near the misty shores. She was much younger than her sister Shalelu. Always hearing about how Shalelu saved someone or defended the town with her bow, Hithil grew a bit irritated and wanted to make a name for herself as well.
Soon, Hithil was following her older sister around with a short bow, but nearly shot her sister with arrow one morning. After that, Shalelu took the shortbow from Hithil and like she seemed to always do, vanished from the region for a while. While the town sometimes wondered where or why Shalelu left from time to time, Hithil was convinced it was to get away from her.
Realizing that she wasn't going to beat Shalelu with a bow and arrow, she practiced with a basic crossbow, which seemed a bit easier. Still, this was something her sister could easily do. No, she wanted to prove to her sister that she too was worthy, and began studying magic.
Over time, she began to realize that knowing more about her surroundings was much more important, and quickly began delving deep into the magic of divination. She had to spend so much time on divination, she gave up trying to learn much about illusions (who needs to fake reality anyway) and enchanting (which is just an illusion for the mind).
When Shalelu would return from her trips, Hithil would try to impress her with her crossbow. Indeed, she started to hit the bullseye quite often. Shalelu brushed it off and unimpressed. She asked Shalelu if she could do better, and when Shalelu drew her bow to show her how to do it, Hithil surprised her sister by casting a grease spell on her bow, and Shalelu dropped it. Astounded that her little sister learned magic while she was gone on an adventure, Shalelu began telling Hithil about her adventures, most of which were complete lies full of grand treasure and love. Shalelu suggested that Hithil was ready for her own adventure and that she seek out more magical power.
Shalelu took Hithil to the Noble house of Lodovka, which was near the Lake of Mists and Veils. There she met Duke Kozek Lodovka, a cunning pirate. He thinks Hithil would do well to work with his eldest son, Aharon Lodovka, as he is looking to diversify the family fortunes, and a wizard might be the best option. Hithil finds Aharon a dreamingly handsome human and is willing to do almost anything for his attention. Aharon is set on helping reclaim the stolen lands, and believes this combined with his family's ships will make them the most wealthy family in the region.
