Hunter Deadeye |

Hunter is freaked out a bit, even though the fight is over. What was up with that, those were clean hits, anyone knowledgeable in arcana that can determine how those blows were deflected? which I think that was a work of arcana

Anton Medvyed |

Anton didn't have the time to do anything in the instantaneous fight.
When all was already over, he waited few seconds and then moved to the Chief
"From friend to friend, I Anton Medvyed of the Church of Erastil, in His Holy name give the Old Deadeye special bless to you and to all your tribe.
May your community prosper, may yours hunters always chase the pray, and may the new friendship between our families, the Tall Falk human and the mighty Sootscale kobolds, last in the future and never come to an end."
As a seal to his blessing words, Anton also casts his Bless spell.
Then with a bow to the Chief he bids farewell.
After doing so, Anton moves to Josef Orlovsky, pulling out one magic nut from his poket.
"Here, mine friend, something to heal your small wound.

Valkus Lebeda |

Valkus balks, crestfallen at the sudden conclusion to the fight. "So...so soon?" He sadly puts his sword away, leaving his buckler strapped on. "It seems I'm always either dying or waiting on the sidelines. Gareth, I'm starting to think I'm simply meant to write the saga, not star in it." He shakes his head, sighs and shrugs. "Ah well. I suppose things could be worse. Gareth, what say we have a little bout this evening? Eusebius has a good arm, but I think he was letting me win. I need somebody who isn't afraid to bruise me."

Chief White Eagle |

Once hostilities die down, and peace can once again be discussed, White Eagle relaxes. he nods his approval of the treaty verbalized by the Kobold chief.
Chif Sootscales, as Shaman of the Defohy tribe I speak for my people, May we have peace between us.
White Eagle takes out the dream catcher he was making back at the Sycamore tree and give it to the Kobold Chief.
A gift to signify the peace we promised on this day.

Hunter Deadeye |

Hunter responds to Valkus, putting his hand on his left shoulder. Time will come when you will have a chance to fight and become a hero, believe me it takes time and training. You sir have potential, but being a hero has more to it than just fighting, you know how to inspire, use that for good.

Josef Orlovsky |

As Anton offers Josef a nut, the young human smiles as he reaches out to take it. "Thank you, Anton. I do appreciate the help." and then he quickly begins eating the nut as he turns to clean his blade before re-sheathing it.
As he puts the blade away, Josef works his way to his cousin and whispers to him.

Hunter Deadeye |

Hunter is going to use sense motive on the Kobolds to make sure the Kobolds aren't going to try to kill us as soon as we turn our backs. He ponders wondering if any of this was a trick. Many people can tell Hunter is deep in thought for a few seconds, but can't tell why or what he is thinking.

Upon searching Tartuk you find a wand, a masterwork cold iron sickle, bracers of armor +1. His pouch contains a large topaz and a plain ring, sized for a human with a single pearl on it. There is also the book. Which, to save you all time, appears to have been handwritten in undercommon.
Chief Sootscale gladly accepts your offerings, words and blessings. It seems the Sootscale kobolds had been under the shadow of Tartuk for some time and are now greatful to be free of him.
The kobolds begin a joyful celebration and do not appear inclined to attack anyone at the moment.

Hunter Deadeye |

Knowledge is the most important part of battle, if noone objects, I will call dibs on the book, as I have slain it. You can all decide for yourselves who get what treasures, but the best weapon is knowledge, unless someone here knows Undercommon?

Natalya Artemisa |

Natalya stands reverently with Lorald, whispering in his ear as they stack the dead shaman's belongings. Standing back and waiting patiently whilst he performs his ritual with the water, she displays absolute decorum.
Once the moment has passed she will speak up to all the assembled explorers
I feel we should continue the representation of a couple of people from each team just to iron things out with the chief here, explain about the new laws. We don't want these guys getting edgy and us outstaying our welcome, so why don't you guys go up to the surface and discuss how you want to split up the items of note we found on Tartuk?

Hunter Deadeye |

I was looking back at the posts to make sure I didn't miss anything and found this post
so Lorald has already stripped and claimed everything off the Shaman?
Nevermind, hunter never said any of that, because he never got to those items in the first place. Didn't know the DM was responding to Lorald and Hunter may or may not know what Lorald took.

Josef Orlovsky |

"Hunter? I don't care about the book. I do care about the information in it. I can't speak for anyone else, though."
Josef seems to be relaxing, and the smile that has been absent for a while is beginning to grow as the kobolds begin celebrating.
"I could be wrong, but I think that we're invited to the party that's just getting started. We've got a while before we're going to have overstayed, and it could be insulting if we just leave before the celebration really gets underway."

Natalya Artemisa |

Natalya moves over to Josef, she lets go deep breath that she seems to have been holding forever, and he sees the tension drain out of her.
I think you are likely right, I err on the side of caution as I am no wordsmith, over the last few years I've only dealt with a very small number of people, I know nothing of large group dynamics like this!
She stands and watches the celebrations
It feels good to have released these folk from their 'usurper' as they put it, I don't think I'll ever understand the full extent of what was going on, but as long as they are happy and wanting to co-operate with us that's great she smiles.
Do you have anything to drink aside from that liquor from Oleg's? she asks politely

Valkus Lebeda |

Valkus stares at Hunter's strange, aquatic visage as he considers the undine's words, marveling at how somebody so different could be capable of giving him such perfect words of wisdom. Clapping Hunter on the shoulder and giving it a squeeze, he says, "Thank you, friend. That may be just what I need. I will dwell on that."
His dwelling is short-lived, though. At the mention of a party, his attention is thoroughly diverted. He perks up, jerking his head around, looking for these rumored festivities."Party? I love parties! Drinks all around!" The disappointment of battle unjoined has now left him completely, and Valkus joins in the frolicking and merriment.
Over the course of the evening, he takes the opportunity to swap songs and stories with some of the kobolds. At one point during the party, he finds himself in the uncomfortable position of offering relationship advice to a forlorn young male. Undoubtedly, time will prove the unfortunate kobold to have been left worse off for it. When morning breaks, Valkus is sad to leave. "Until next time, Sootscales!" He waves goodbye to his new friends and tries to stay awake in his saddle as he rides away.

Matsu Miyuki |

Miyuki will walk to Valkus and ask him to teach her a few things with songs and rhyme. Trying to learn a bit of music. Swap a few drinks and have fun. After an hour or so she would walk around in the kobold den and working befriending quite a few Kobolds.
Laughingly she would try to learn a bit of the Kobold culture, asking Chief Sootscale to tell her how he became this mighty chef and what where his problems with that evil Tartuk. What he could tell her about this area. Generally trying to win him completly over.
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (16) + 10 = 26

Natalya Artemisa |

Natalya looks at Marlani appraisingly, but smiles warmly.
I accept your hospitality gladly she takes a swig of the wine, grinning as it blazes its way down her throat.
Thank you for your words Marlani, I appreciate them more than you know
She proceeds to spend the majority of the night carousing with Marlani.
Never having had a real night in her cups before, she will have the mother of all hangovers, and be the proverbial bear with a bad head in the morning. Valkus will be in good company with a hangover-buddy.

Aran Innatven |

Unlike Anton, Aran seemed to pick up quite different lessons from the Medvyed's. Only a dead kobold is an honest kobold reverberates through his head, lessons taught long ago by the paranoid but still strong family of people that leaved right at the doorstep of Gronzi forest. Abiding to that lesson, Aran spends the night unlike most of his friends, refusing drinks and offers of food from kobolds. Being a real "party pooper" he goes so far as to remain awake and on watch even while most of those present were happily sleeping. Finally somewhere before dawn the tiredness in his limbs overcomes his fear of a "kobold ruse" and he falls asleep, with crossbow in his lap.
Waking with a small startle, he notices that majority of last night's participants in the revelries are either still asleep or having a hangover. Rising up slowly, the ranger tries to find Lorald and the rest of team Orlovsky. Once (much later, when) everyone is finally awoke and ready to leave, Aran voices his opinion.
"I said it once, and I'll say it again - thank you for your help with the mites. However, we do not seem to function well together. We're a large group and I guess that's normal. Let us now go our separate ways. State where do you want to go Antlers, and I'll lead our team in the opposite direction."

Anton Medvyed |

Wow, Level 2! :)
@ GM: do we have to roll for the new HP or do you like another method for this?
At the celebration party:
Anton really enjoyed all the feast and the celebrations, spending time with the tribe but also with everyone who wanted to stay with him.
Also, as promised before entering the Mine, he had a drink (or more?) with Marlani
"To our families, and to our victory here!" he cheers to her
I think the majority want to go forward this scene and return to the exploration. That's fine for me
In the morning:
Anton wakes up early, to pray Erastil and meditate the nature outside the mine.
1st Bless (D), Deadeye's Arrow, Entangle, Produce Flame
0th Create Water, Guidance, Light, Stabilize
Also the nuts goodberry spell effect has ended, so they became normal nuts he will keep for future uses.
He also handle Berego for the journey and goes back in the cave just in time to hear Aran words
He nodded him
"Yes, It was a good deal to join our forces for this mission, but we can't stay together in a large group to accomplish our mission in the Stolen Lands."
Then looking to the Unicorn's Antlers members
"I hope we can go back to Oleg now and then again to the Forest exploration we left unfinished."

Natalya Artemisa |

Natalya makes haste back to Oleg's. She'll ride as quickly as she can through the already-mapped hexes. Once back at the trading post, she'll greet Oleg and Svetlana and ask if there are any messages for her.

Anton Medvyed |

Anton don't wait for the dinner. And rides to east with Miyuki.
Survival to chase Natalya: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (6) + 9 = 15 Hope a 19 is enough
"She could have only a few hours of advantage. Let's find her."
EDIT: Changing the thread has changed the die roll too.

![]() |

Regardless.
Anton and Miyuki head east as it begins to grow darker. It's not hard to follow her trail, although very soon Anton may be wishing he had his orc kin's vision.
Three hours later you arrive at the hut of Bokken the hermit. He comes outside to greet you and offer to sell some of his potions, but he apologizes for the poor state of his stock.

Anton Medvyed |

Anton and Miyuki have never been there
"Hello good man. I'm Anton Medvyev, and she is Miyuki, we are emissaries of the Church of Erastil. We are searching for a friend. A pale woman named Natalya. Have you seen her?

![]() |

"Pale lady, strange eyes, so dark, so inviting?" he asks. "Tried to get her to come in for a nip of cordial, guess I should comb my hair more often. First I'd have to make a comb I suppose," then he sighs wistfully.
"Anyway," says after returning to the conversation at hand. "She was here a few hours ago, asking after some fellers who were here yesterday, buncha noble types. Told her I sent them south west in search of a thicket of bladeberries, to restock my supply, so I can make my potions. It's south of the Thorn river, near the forest but still in the Kamelands. It's very late now, it'll be dark any minute now. I can share my fire with you if you'd like."

Anton Medvyed |

Anton says something to Miyuki
"What can we do? Chasing her in the darkness of the night? I have a light orisons we can use"

Matsu Miyuki |

Miyuki smiles at the man, her most dazzling smile, and says:" we gladly share your fire, just to rest for a moment. Maybe you can show us what you have made. Your elexier is fabulous."

Anton Medvyed |

A noble team... Is she searching the Orlovsky?
Looking at his pocket with not so much money Anton wait for Miyuki to make some shopping. While waiting he also starts to look around in the hut.
Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8

Anton Medvyed |

While the night was falling upon then, Anton asks Miyuki if she wants to stay at Bokken's hut for the night.
"I don't think we can get her before the dawn. She is probably too far, and the horses should need some rest. What do you think?"

Anton Medvyed |

Anton first handles the horses for the night, and then moves to discuss about herbs and fruits with Bokken.
During the conversation he asks him:
"We have found some moon radish in the forest. Do you think those could be useful in some way?"

![]() |

Bokken seems incredibly excited to have people in his hut. Everywhere there are dried bundles of herbs and pickling jars full of various ingredients. There's a bit of a stir when he realizes he doesn't actually have more than one chair but he soon solves that when he brushes a few crates off and puts them to use around his small table.
he provides the one actual chair to Miyuki, as well as a generous glass of his bladeberry cordial.
He happily chats with Anton about forest comestibles and suggests that moon radishes are too spicy for most applications, but that Svetlana makes a delicious moon radish soup.
You spend a while in companionable conversation and then eventually decide to get your rest. In the morning the sun rises and Bokken bids you adieu.
He has one potion of cure light wounds, one potion of cure moderate wounds and one potion of endure elements should you like to purchase them before you head on your way.
Otherwise make a survival check to continue your pursuit.

Matsu Miyuki |

Did we get our share from the plant mobs? If so Miyuki would offer to buy all the potions Anton does not want to buy. She will also ask bokken if he would make special potions she would order? Like Jump or Mage Armor?

![]() |

Technically you guys left before you could get your monies, but Hunter was desperately trying to give it to you, so we'll say Anton and Miyuki each received their 200gp.
Bokken shakes his head, "Sorry to say, but without those bladeberries there just no way I can make any other potions. If you bring me some bladeberries I'll be able to make whatever you want, and at a discount too."

Anton Medvyed |

thanks GM for the 200 gp
Early in the morning Anton prays Erastil for new spells
1st Bless (D), Deadeye's Arrow, Deadeye's Lore, Produce flame
0th Create Water, Guidance, Light, Stabilize
If Miyuki doesn't want it for herself Anton buys a potion of cure light wounds.
When they start to ride Anton also casts Deadeye's Lore (For the next 2 hours he gain a +4 sacred bonus to all Survival checks and also don't have to move at half speed while tracking/traveling through the wilderness)
Survival to track Natalya: 1d20 + 9 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 9 + 4 = 20
EDIT: about the party loot, Anton had taken the mwk handaxe he founded in the exploration, but probably Hunter listed it in his list of the party loot. Did he have sold it or is Anton still keeping it?

Chief White Eagle |

Hunter said that CWE should take the mwk hand axe, but I can see him not getting it... at least I got my 200 gold

Anton Medvyed |

If CWE have taken it, retroactively, it's totally ok for me.
I probably missed the post :)
I just want to know if Anton still got it, or he gave it to CWE because, speaking strictly IC, only Anton had his hands on it, not Hunter or anyone else :-D

Chief White Eagle |

true, which is why I did not care, CWE never did post as to taking it so I didn't bother worrying about it until Hunter mentioned it later. but honestly there will be more in the future anyway (I'm not even proficient with the thing)...

Anton Medvyed |

Fine, CWE you got it (but can't use it), I'm removing it from mine listed gear. Have fun :)

![]() |

With Erastil's aid Anton is more than capable of tracking down nataly's trail. Turns out she camped not too far from Bokken's and then set out i nthe morning. A few hours after that she came to another camp, and started following them.
That evening you catch up to her, check out the Orlovsky gameplay thread.

![]() |

Ok, Miyuki and Anton. I have heard back from Jana, who will be playing a cavalier and another player who has not yet decided. That should give you guys 4, which is plenty to get the ball rolling.
I'll create a new thread to host your new party, but I need to know the most important detail: what should your new party be called?

Chief White Eagle |

Does not matter to me anyway. if you prefer you take the antlers thread.
go ahead and create team rejects if you want for me and I guess hunter as well since we are grouped together now.
DM composing a PM for you

Anton Medvyed |

Well, Anton & Miyuki coined the name of the Unicorn's Antlers, but it was connected to all the PCs of the team.
Anton & Miyuki & the others could choose their new name. Anton would prefer to keep the "Antlers" reference, because it marks the connection to Erastil. The "Unicorn" is a part of the team name that could be changed for him.
CWE and Hunter could continue to use the former name, but Anton will not appreciate it IC (OOC I have no problem). They could choose a more "Nature-themed name" since they are a Shaman and a Cleric of Gozreh

Chief White Eagle |

Like I said I really don't care if we have a team name.
Where I am at in this game is uncertain right now.
