He then yells out in order for the other assailant hears him and says, "If you are members of the Police, we mean you no harm. I acted in self defense and asked your colleague put down his weapon."

Evelyn is in her room, performing the 2nd 1/2 of the action from last time.
I'll assume that Trufant retreated to cover with Victor.
Van Winkle calls out to the other assailant, but hears no answer except approaching footsteps.

George positions himself in a corner and says, "Warned you like your colleague, either come out or get shot!"
David, realizing that they attacked a sheriff, his face goes visibly white.

Morroway shakes his head and maintains his position, ready to fire if necessary. Just inside the room.
Evelyn sneaks over to her door and, first listening at it carefully, opens it just a crack to see what's happening outside.
As everyone hides, waiting for the other attacker to make a move, a pair of gunshots rings out from farther downstairs, punctuated briefly by a horrific scream.

Morroway suddenly remembers the maid and other guest. "Damn!" He moves for the stairs.
David, looks on as Morroway rushes for the stairs.

He rushes with the marksman, as he tries to see if his father is all right.
Rush towards the stairs, trying to keep on eye out for any hostile people. What skill would that be?

Victor goes with David and Morroway.
Harry opens the door and heads down with the others to see what has happened.
Evelyn opens the door as the others rush downstairs. "I'll not be left here alone! Wait for me."
Harry waits until Miss Cardue joins them, then continues down the stairs.
That's everyone but Van Winkle. Are you heading downstairs with the rest?
George takes the vanguard, after hearing more shots it steels his resolve .
The group hustles down the stairs to check on the others and confront the remaining attacker.
You all make it down the stairs and into the foyer. It'll be another full round to get to the top of the basement stairs. If no one objects, I'll go ahead and say you spend the next round doing that.
As he moves down the stairs, George says, "Police do not just gun down people and not answer."

Harry whispers to the group.
"Maybe they are like the congressman...alien. We need to be very careful."
He looks back to where the body of the policeman lies and, for a moment feels like going back to check it, but decides to stay with the group until they deal with this other intruder.

George says, "Hmm, I guess I could have let that policeman murder our Indian colleague and I did give him warning. But second guess me all you wish. "
Nothing further happens as the group approaches the basement. At the top of the stairs, the room below you hangs eerily silent.

I thought we were all going. I'll go first if martial arts guy doesn't want to.
Evelyn follows the others down towards the basement clutching a small pistol that she apparently had in her room.
David looks towards the basement stairs, and proceeds with caution as the eerie silence get to him.
I hope my father is okay is his final thought before he descends into the darkness below.

George goes up front gun in hand like at San Juan Hill and says,
"Let's save Mr. Trufant!"
As the partygoes descend into the basement, they hear naught but the gentle hum of strange machinery. As they reach the bottom, they see the still, bleeding forms of the elder Trufant and the maid sprawled on the floor. There remains no sign of the attacker.

Victor crouches down to the elder Trufant
Bloody Hell! I've been shot at enough times to know what to do about this.
Victor tries to staunch the wound.

Victor has a catch phrase. :)
Detective 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (5, 3) + 6 = 14 to find footprints, the smell of cordite or something any trace really.
George shakes his head and tries to find any trail.

Morroway frowns at not finding the second man. He makes a quick decision. "Keep Victor covered while he works. The man must still be down here somewhere." He then looks to Thakur. "Come with me, man. I've a first aid case in my car."
David, sees his father lying on the ground, soaked in blood. He rushes to his father's side, grabbing his hand. It is still warm, but the warmth is deceiving as the life in him is all gone. Tears well up in his eyes, as he clutches his father's hand. He kisses the forehead, if I hadn't been so stubborn, and went into the family business. If I had been more like him, he would still be alive.
Sadness subsides, but is immediately replaced with anger. An anger that burns so hot, he loses his composure for the situation at hand.
You bastard. Who or whatever killed my father, I will crush you with my bare hands to avenge his death. You HEAR ME!!
He gets up, looks around, with his nunchaku drawn in any event of hostilities arising.

Harry will go and check on the dead policeman as well as help Morroway get the first-aid kit. I want to see if he is also an alien.
Victor and Evelyn examine the victims, who seem to be alive, but critically wounded. Harry and Morroway run back upstairs, while Van Winkle and Trufant search fruitlessly for a sign of their attacker.

My actions should take me a few rounds as I (try to) retrieve the medkit and return.
