Sorry everyone, but I'm afraid I don't have time to dedicate to this game. I'm retiring as a player.

Cyric is up for grabs and you may use Michazra as she is or make her an NPC, or not. I'm closing this alias, but all Michazra's information can be found on this pastebin.

Have a good game!

Sorry to see you go. Take care and I wish you good luck in your future adventures!

Alright then. Michazra and Cyric are available to be claimed. Atheos, I believe you said you could do well with Cyric? I'll let you take him in addition to Helm if you want him.

Additional Information on Zodaxian Dogma:

The "Freedom Cry" is an important concept in Zodaxian theology. The Freedom Cry is defined as the desire of the oppressed to not be oppressed anymore.

The Freedom Cry is often expressed, but might be purely internal. It is considered present in virtually all oppressed people, as even if one is brainwashed, any deviation of any kind from a person's programming will be viewed as an expression of the cry unless it is truly unrelated to the person's will. The Freedom Cry is not the same everywhere. Some Cries are angry, others sad and desperate, still others almost peaceful, but the Cry is always a desire to no longer be oppressed.

Zodaxus' followers will often refer to the Cry in conversation about oppressed people. To fail to answer someone's Freedom Cry when you are able to (barring special circumstances) is a vicious sin against that person.

Parties are valued in Zodaxian dogma for two reasons: First, Zodaxus likes them and thinks they are cool, which, while Zodaxus does not view as meaning all must like them as well, (no one, not even he, has the right to judge the harmless desires of others), does cause those attempting to imitate the object of their worship to seek to pursue them.

However, more importantly than that, parties are microcosms of Zodaxus' concept of the ideal universe: one in which all persons work together to freely pursue their own pleasure. In a party, all make themselves happy as they see fit to without caring for the opinions of others, and yet they do not compete for happiness, but share in it together, the presence of others making them more happy, not less.

(Zodaxus' affinity for parties is the echo of the Nightbird's desire to resume their hedonistic mating rituals. Zodaxian parties are essentially heavy bastardizations of those rituals as they were conceived by the Nightbird's broken minds.)

So it's like Greek worship on steroids?

....okay. Moving along now!

Anyhow are we doing the fiends and celestials from D&D or. Patfinder? Because now in D&D succubi and incubi can be found in hell and abyss.

Either one of them can exist. It's up to you.

It also appears that Tharros has left us. It's been over 2 weeks since we've last heard from him.

Also, just to jog your memory, it's your turn in the gameplay thread.

I'd say fiends and celestial from 3.5 D&D or Pathfinder, which are pretty much interchangeable. A lot of that changed in 4e/5e, which people are less likely to be familiar with.

Please understand, folks: I really don't want to bail on this game, but I've been tempted to - the reason being that, for whatever reason, I've had a hard time finding Vortae's 'voice' and knowing what to do. I'm feeling kind of bad about not being able to post more. I did just Start Something, as you can see, but it would be helpful to me if others came to me with things. I'm afraid I'm much more practiced at reacting than initiating things (perhaps because I have "Eye of Kalem'Darr Syndrome," if you recall my meaning).

Just added the city "Eletharia" to the setting doc. I do have an answer in mind for its mysteries, if anyone wants to work at solving it. Indeed, as the main plot comes up over the next month, knowing those answers will be potentially beneficial.

I'll post something Wednesday as I have to find some info on the good elemental princes so y'all can get a good idea on what they are.

Male God of Lions, Families, Protection and Polyamory

I added a continent to the setting doc, for a general Africa analogue. I'll add more when I get time.

Alright, so, for my convenience, I’m going to post EXP allotments a day early. If you think I’ve overlooked something or undersold you, feel free to respond to this post saying so. I swear on all of our names I will not penalize you for doing so.

Scrapeknee /God/ 0 + 3 = 3 (Reasoning: High post quality and quantity early on, but hasn’t posted in long enough that I’m not sure he’s still with us. I don’t remember if I sent him a PM the other day. I’ll do it again, and he’ll get a 4 instead if he seems to join back in.)

Tharros /God/ 0 + 1 = 1 (Reasoning: Barely even here. Lack of party invitation isn’t enough of a mitigating factor.)

Zodaxus /God/ 0 + 5 = 5 (Reasoning: Like one out of every 6 posts is mine. I feel terrible for giving myself the maximum score but I posted enough that I feel like I’d do the same to another person who posted as much as me.)

Michazra /God/ 0 + 1 = 1 (Reasoning: NPC Goddess now, and that is the base amount for such a creature.)

Atheos /God/ 0 + 5 = 5 (Reasoning: Spectacularly productive daily poster, who makes wonderful google docs and spreadsheets for everyone. I wish I could give more.)

Babaki /God/ 0 + 5 = 5 (Reasoning: Regular posting helped, but the reason for the high score is the quality of the writing. There’s this wonderful and unique humor to everything Babaki says and does that I just love.)

Ishalla /God/ 0 + 3 = 3 (Reasoning: Severe drop-off in post count late in the month. Amount of posts early on is what saves her from a lower score.)

Osoro /God/ 0 + 2 = 2 (Reasoning: Lack of posting not as severe as Tharros, but still not very active. Posts were high-quality when present, but not enough so to warrant more points than given.)

Cil'dr /God/ 0 + 4 = 4 (Reasoning: His posts were high in frequency and quality early on, but he basically F O’ed at the end of the month and has not posted much since, which cost him a point. Still, his posts were well-written and frequent enough to warrant a 4, if only because it is the first month and I am trying to be generous.)

Vortae /God/ 0 + 4 = 4 (Reasoning: Vortae didn’t post too much this month, but what posts he made were very good, and he seems to be getting back into it, a fact which can be blamed for 1 of the 4 points given.)

Adriel /God/ 0 + 4 = 4 (Reasoning: Posted quite a bit, and his posts were long enough to count for quite a bit. Was still absent too much for the maximum score, but with work explicitly stated as a very understandable mitigating factor.)

Lathander /God/ 0 + 2 = 2

Helm /God/ 0 + 1 = 1

Mystra /God/ 0 + 0 = 0

Shar /God/ 0 + 2 = 2

Cyric /God/ 0 + 1 = 1

Lolth /God/ 0 + 1 = 1

Asmodeus /God/ 0 + 2 = 2

Bane /God/ 0 + 0 = 0

Loviatar /God/ 0 + 1 = 1

Would have posted a bit more this week but I was working on my garage repainting it and today was my mom's birthday. However I'll try and post more often that is if my blasted iPhone will stop autocorrect everything!

Ahahahaohno.

Also, I don't know what Helm would do gifts. But he watches everything, and that includes Monte Python, I suppose.

And in a fantasy world, Monte Python is a classic comedy beloved by all!

Nope. You never sent one but that's okay. I thought I had given a post here in discussion about how I was way behind and would be a bit, but apparently the edit I did with the details didn't go through so.. ugh.

I was still trying to suss out thoughts on the Ringworld stuff when the week went to hell with all sorts of little problems one after the other. Today's adventure was a power outage for several hours ;)

I feel like I've lost my groove a bit, and I did consider quitting as well when I saw we'd lost another already, but that doesn't seem fair to you guys after I agreed to take on Lathander.

I'll try to get two posts in (One for each god) up in the next 24 hours

Okay, we're having a serious problem with lack of posting here. In hopes of saving this game, I'm going to establish some rules. These aren't intended as punishments. They're principally to speed things along:

1: After 2 weeks of (complete) inactivity, you lose exclusive right to any NPC gods you've claimed. This simply means I can post as them and nothing more. This is mostly so plots relevant to them can continue without needing to wait for you. Once you post again, you'll regain control.

2: Regardless of how much you post for your PC god, you lose exclusive right to any NPC gods you do not post as for a month unless I judge that nothing has happened which they should have reacted to. For example, Atheos is on the cusp of losing Helm this way as a letter was specifically sent to Helm to which Helm would by all logic respond. Other things which fall under this category include things pertaining to your churches or followers. To be clear, you are expected to play your own followers for the most part.

3: The above is retroactive and extends backwards. In other words, if you have not yet posted as an NPC god you claimed, I can. I do this to expand my options for waking up this game.

4: If two full months pass and you are completely inactive on the gameplay thread, your god is an NPC god until you next post. Everyone posted at least once in September, so the end of November is the earliest this could actually happen.

I'm going to post EXP in roughly a week and 3 of you are on track to get 0 exp for October, and only 1 of you will earn 5. I'll be grading on a curve, as I recognize that I have posted less than I should and that it's harder to post when no one is giving you anything to work with, but even then, complete inactivity is always worth 0 points.

So in other words: C'MON PEOPLE!

PS. In particular, the Imperium plot can't really advance until Adriel tells me how his temple responds to a spaceship landing outside it. I don't mean to call you out, man. I know you're busy, but I need you to do this.

Still not sure about having this in here. I think somehow the plot of this has somehow derailed. So unfortunately I'm pulling out. I've enjoyed it but I just feel that we might have too many cooks in the kitchen so that's why I'm leaving. I'm also taking Adriel as well. I apologize about this y'all but I'm afraid that I don't have anything to contribute to this plot and I don't want to ruin it by messing anything up.

I wish everyone good luck and loads of fun!

What exactly do you mean when you say you're "taking" Adriel? If you pull out, he'll become an NPC god and I'll use him.

Ah okay. Well usually when someone leaves they take their character with them. Either the gm writes the character out of the story or they just kill the character off.

But I'm okay with you using him as a npc.

I think our problem has more to do with the fact that gods, as we've designed them, can handle things too well. Any given encounter ends within 3 posts so each time it's not really clear where to go next.

"Lord of Atheism" | Not-a-Lesser-God | Attack 3d6, Defense 5d6, HP 40

Er... yeah. I've mostly just sort of been wondering what to do in terms of plot/world etc., and I've kind of lost steam.

Male (Usually) Deity of Change and Chance, Transformation and Chaos

I'm going to pull out as well. No disrespect meant to you, Zodaxus, but I Think the loss of our original DM sort of took the wind out of things for me. Then I fell behind, and so on until I felt more and more lost/detached. Add to that some RL troubles plaguing some friends, and well, there you have it.

It's been a pleasure gaming with you all, and it's a noble experiment, but right now I'm not sure I can really muster the passion to meet even the reasonable requests made.

Be well

Zodaxus, if you could set me to inactive (Obviously Scrapeknee himself could still be very active if you wish to use him) so it doesn't show on my active campaign list, I'd be grateful.

The same for me as well: please put me inactive.

I've been struggling with my personal problems that have been impeding my writing and ability to take initiative, as well as having a LOT of other games going on at the same time (including my first Pbp DMing gig).

I think this is a great game we've set up, but stars are clearly falling from the heavens like flies, and others of us are clearly kind of fatigued. We should probably put this in the freezer - I don't appear to be up to the challenge at the moment, much as I'd love to be, but I'd hate for this all to end with a whimper like this. I agree with Scrapeknee that losing the original DM, and what sounded like a very interesting and well thought-out original plot, was an unwelcome loss. Maybe we can try getting back in the saddle if she can claw her way back to Internet access.

That's about where I am as well. I'll post EXP in the next couple of days for this month and then the campaign is suspended until further notice.

Extra Credit: To give you guys some reason to think about this game and not forget about it entirely, I am affording the opportunity for extra credit. Here’s the rule: any time you write at least 500 words or a fully statted character sheet or monster entry, you get a bonus exp point. You may not receive more than five of these per month, but they will spill over into the following months, so you shouldn’t lose any exp over that unless you do an extremely large amount of work extremely often. If you add something to the setting doc, also reproduce it here so I can get its word count and give you this credit.

To be clear, since gameplay is suspended, those 500 words would be either scenes from the past or setting information, not things which other gods might want to react to.
