So I'm trying to play her helpful but still high elf superiority elf-ness. What I read is that they respect skill and craft skill of other races, but still see themselves as superior.
Hope I'm doing ok in that regard

May Sigmar bless the great day, and may the old alliance prevail again against the vile forces of Chaos.
I am not yet quite sure how to best play Carrot, but I am going for very polite, to a slightly off putting degree (in the fairly cynical warhammer world), but he actually believes what he says.

My third, after German and Russian.
I am awkardly trying to learn French, and keep being amused by how little difference I feel between like...
In the absolutely wonderfull Clair Obscur Soundtrack, there are parts where I think I understand the vocalist, (and I actually do), and parts where I think I understand the vocalist (but I totally dont), and to my ear/mind there is no difference between these parts.
As a hobby linguist, that actually keeps delighting me.

I did learn some chinese back when I was into martial arts, and actually went to a Sanda competition in Baoding.
It was pretty funny.
1: The average bloke from Northern China in Northern China (Baoding was like, an Anti-steppe raider garrison town) mostly drinks a lot, like to wrestle, and is nothing at all like the average chinese person in Germany (at that time who was typically a relatively shy IT student).
2: I was at that point introduced as "Sanda Champion of Berlin", to my considerably surprise, a lofty title which i won in a tournament in some school sports hall, which had exactly 1 competitor in my weightclass, and nobody participating was aware of it even being a championship.
Also, my bog standard 9 months of conscription in the German army got "upscaled" to professional German KSK soldier. Although I didnt understand enough Chinese to know what the hell they introduced me as.
My opponent was a pro, I am still amazed I didnt get knocked the hell out and only lost my a massive amount of points.
3: Looking back, the smart thing would have been to do the drinking contest (which I won) prior to the fight not after it.
4: Dont do drinking contests the same day as getting kicked in the liver.
The yellow eyes I got from that had my thinking hepatitis or something.
5: I did speak some broken Mandarin, and as long as you act like "friendly foreign grandpa" it was surprisingly effective, if mixed with some theatralic phantomime.
6: At an introduction, they played the (forbidden in Germany due to association with Nazi Germany) first stanza of the German national anthem. When the organizers beheld our rather horrified faces, they figured they made a mistake, so they switched it in for the anthem of the GDR, at which point we started to chuckle a bit.
This was 22 years ago though, and China certainly changed since then.

English would be my second or third language (depending whether you count proficiency or chronological order of learning), after Finnish and (perhaps) Swedish.

The WFRP4e Dwarf Player's guide has rules for grudges. Are they in use? Regardless, Kardin will be keeping a book of grudges. And as can be seen from gameplay, I don't plan for him to be the kind of dwarf who marks everything as a grudge. The fact that he was talked down to by an elf, and immediately put it in context, shows that it takes a serious offense to earn a place in his book.
"New Grudges
At the end of each session, you can choose to gain a new Grudge. Choose an individual that insulted you during the session and record the Grudge you bear against them per the usual process.
Unlike Ambiitions, you do not need to swap a Grudge for an existing Grudge that you have completed or abandoned. For this reason, it is possible for your book of grudges to grow over the course of a campaign.
If the entire session passes without an insult previous enough to be entered into your bike, you may still choose to enter a historic grievance as a Grudge. This refers to an incident that occurred off-screen, during downtime, or before play started, which has until this point not been relevant."
"When interacting with an individual you bear a Grudge against, apple yeti animosity psychology trait. When interacting with an individual you bear a Blood Grudge against, apply the Hatred psychology trait instead."
"Resolving Grudges
Grudges are resolved when you receive the restitution listed in your book. Update the Grudge by noting the date it was satisfied in your book. If you learn the Grudge's perpetrator has died without making recompense, the Grudge is inherited...
...a satisfied grudge awards 25xp. A satisfied Blood Grudge awards an additional +25xp, for a total of 50xp."
"Unresolved grudges
If a Dwarf character dies their new character starts with additional XP equal to half the XP the deceased character acquired in play. However, this bonus is reduced by 25xp for every outstanding Grudge the deceased character had upon death, and reduced by an additional 25xp for outstanding Blood Grudge. If the player's new character considers the deceased character to be kin, any outstanding Grudges fo the deceased character are transferred directly into the new character's book of grudges."
"Starting Grudges
Instead of choosing a Short term ambition and long term ambition...a dwarf character can start with three Grudges. Record them in your book."
This feels very characterful. I'd gladly start with 3 grudges, preferably ones that would help progress the story (extra fun if they are Clan Grudges, as completing them would assist Kardin in feeling worthy to eventually return home). However, more than happy to stick with ambitions and only add grudges if they come up in gameplay.
Ideas for Grudges
Sample Grudge #1: (Greenskins)
* Clan grudge against Greenskins...if they are to be part of the campaign at some point
The Ironjaw tribe dared strike at dawi merchants journeying between Altdorf and Karak Norn. They have spilled the blood of kin, including guards of Clan Shieldshatter, and have defiled dwarven ale destined for the market, pouring it upon the earth and down their unworthy throats. This insult to our trade, our kin, and our honor shall not go unavenged. The debt in blood and ale must be paid.
Grudge Type: Clan Grudge
Target: Ironjaw Orcs (tribe)
Grudge Completion: Take part in an action that inflicts significant loss or dishonor upon the Ironjaw tribe — either through destruction of warriors, theft of assets, or otherwise striking at the tribe’s honor or operations.
Sample Grudge #2: (Humans)
* Clan Grudge against humans, be they an individual or group in a town that will be part of the campaign. That could be fun as a way to drive him towards completing goals.
(Insert names here from GM) believe the dawi to be weak of tongue and foolish of purse. Clan Shieldshatter provided protection for umgi merchants for the cost of fifteen gold. Upon return to Karak, it was discovered that one coin was made with false alloy! The coin, the pride, and the respect of Clan Shieldshatter must be restored.
Grudge Type: Clan Grudge
Target: [Up to GM on which town/consortium makes sense
Grudge Completion: Restitution, or vengeance. Must be worth 1 gold either way.
Sample Grudge #3: (Chaos)
* Clan Grudge against chaos...assuming that they will be in some way part of the campaign?
"A treacherous servant of Chaos deceived our kin, the stalwart dwarves of Clan Shieldshatter, into delivering a foul and tainted artifact. By our hands, the unholy thing passed where it should never have gone, and the shame of this failure rests heavy upon all clansmen. This insult is not merely to the clan, but to the very honor our Karak. It is the duty of every dawi to see this wrong righted, by destroying the cult, undoing their schemes, or such vengeance as to deliver a message to the Dark Gods.
Grudge Type: Clan Grudge (Blood)
Target: Whatever chaos force is appropriate
Grudge Completion: GM dependent
These would replace short- and long-term ambitions, tying him to clan, world, and personal goals. One reason I ask for starting with Clan Grudges, is because his overall goal is to prove himself worthy of returning home to Karak Norn. Completing Clan Grudges seems like a great way of him believing that he has earned that right. This way it isn't "Everyone, I am awesome! I killed a dragon!" But rather "I left the hold, and have righted wrongs against us. My departure was worthwhile, and I am worthy of rejoining the shield wall."
And again, these are all just sample ideas. I'm flexible. :)
Otherwise, I’m happy to stick with the default ambitions.
The default ambitions, currently are:
Short Term
Win a fight against a worthy opponent
Long Term
Prove himself worthy of returning to Karak Norn

Have you been back to China since then? I've been going there on and off for about 15 years now. And every time I go, it is striking how much has changed. Comparing my wife's hometown from when I first went there to my last trip felt like going to a different place.
Also as an aside...as you are in the German Army Reserves? I did 6 years in USA Army National Guard (enlisted: field artillery). Volunteered for chance to go on winter training in Germany, sadly didn't get it. When contract was up, I applied to go active JAG and got in. While I ended up taking a different job instead, my first choice of duty station was Germany. I've never been, but its really high on my bucket list of place that I want to go.
"Carrot Ironaxeson"
Wait, your also artillery?
Haubitzen-Honk here haha, was one of the first units which has PzH2000s, lot of teething problems with this one, but if it works it works really well.
I had an old seargeant from the NVA (Nationale Volks Armee, East German army) whose opinion was like "Good thing we have these things now, the M109GA3 was a joke compared to earlier Warsaw pact models we had in East Germany."
I am pro forma reserve, but as a 9 month conscript I would have to actively sign up for training, which I didnt.
I am in touch with some friends I made in China, but havent been there myself since then. My little brother, who also does martial arts, is there regularly and is like "yeah, they are leaving us in the dust".
I was told they still drink a lot though, in the north at least.
@Hans Gruber
I can, if I am really drunk, somewhat get swedish, and like Sabaton lyrics I can understand reasonably well, but normal spoken swedish? Nah.

Trying to help out, I may be wrong
Success level is every 10 you are over or below the number.
So the target is 65, you roll 64, you have +0, so it's a success but have 0 bonus levels
Same target, 65, you roll 84, it's -1 SL as you failed by more that 10 but less than 20.
Hope that helps
When rolling, do not add a + to the roll. As that directly influences the d100. Instead add or subtract from your total. Example
We need to roll stealth with a +10. Your normal stealth is 34, with a +10 you will roll on a 44. So just put the 44 and then roll a straight 1d100.
Again. Hope I was clear enough. It's a bit harder to explain via text
Kardin Shieldshatter
Also, GM, I'd love to have a ruling on the grudges when you get a chance to think it over. :)
--------
Success Levels (copied from core rulebook)
Success Levels (shortened to SL) are used to describe the effectiveness of a Test. To determine the SL of a Test, subtract the 10s number of the rolled dice from the 10s number of the Characteristic or Skill being tested, including any modifiers (see Difficulty for more on modifiers). The higher the SL, the better the outcome; the lower it is, the worse things have gone. Marginal results, where you succeed or fail a Test with +0 or –0 SL, could either be interpreted as succeeding or failing by a whisker, with minimal consequences either good or bad, or could give inconclusive results allowing you try again.
Example: Eichengard is careering across muddy fields atop his stallion, desperately fleeing the lands of a disgruntled noble when a wall blocks his passage. He decides to push his mount to jump, and the GM calls for a Dramatic Ride (Horse) test. Eichengard rolls 29 against his Ride (Horse) skill of 41. The 10s number of he Skill being tested is 4, and the 10s number rolled was 2, so the test succeeds with +2 SL (4–2=2) and he clears the wall with space to spare. Buoyed by his success, Eichengard twists around in his saddle and makes the sign of the twin-tailed comet at the horsemen pursuing him. Unfortunately, this means he’s not paying attention to where he’s going. The GM calls for a Dramatic Perception Test, and Eichengard’s player rolls 82, significantly higher than Eichengard’s Perception skill of 39. The 10s number of the roll is 8, and the 10s number of the skill being tested is 3, so the test has failed with –5 SL (3–8=–5). He has failed rather badly. As Eichengard laughs at the increasingly distant guards sent to capture him, a low-lying branch slams hard into his side, knocking him flying.

@Lina: yes, you would have a writ to travel. Starting weapons are (mostly!) one handed, as 2H weapons is a separate Melee skill in which you need to spend points. Besides, they cost more.
@Kardin: unfortunatly, I don't have the dwarf's special handbook. But I'm fine with grudges as described.
@All: yeah, SL can be a little tricky to understand. You need to either succeed better than your opponent or at least to fail less.
You should all have at least a dagger (+2 bonus to damage) or for Warrior class an hand weapon (+4 bonus to damage).
For combat, you add your SL, your Strenght Bonus (SB) and the damage bonus of the weapon (usually +4), and your opponent subtract his own SL, his Endurance bonus and his armor
Exemple: you managed to do +1 SL while attacking, you have 35 Strenght so 3 SB, and you have a sword, total 1+3+4=8. Your opponent get+0 SL, has 41 endurance so 4 End bonus, and wear no armor so 0+4+0=4.
Difference o 8-4=4 his substracted from opponent's Wounds
-Hans Grüber-
Important point about SLs, is that you only compared the 10-digits of the dice and skill.
If your skill is 41, it doesn't matter if you roll 30 or 39 - both are 1 SL.
Also, I just learned that if a talent is tied to a skill, you get +1 SL per level of talent on successful test.

@GM: Thank you vis-a-vi grudges. :)
On ideas for grudges:no problem for the Clan grudges against Greenskins. Against humans, it can be merchants from Altdorf. Against Chaos, maybe one of the merchants from Altdorf was a servant of Chaos, and sold a weapon to use against orcs, which was unholy and corrupted one of your fellow dwarf?
Grudge #1: (Greenskins)
Grudge #2: (Humans)
A thrice-damned umgi merchant from Altdorf believes the dawi to be weak of tongue and foolish of purse.
Target: [Up to GM on which town/consortium makes sense]
Grudge Completion: Restitution, or vengeance. Must be worth 1 gold either way.
Grudge #3: (Chaos)
A treacherous servant of Chaos deceived our kin, the stalwart dwarves of Clan Shieldshatter, into accepting a foul and tainted artifact. Dorn Shieldshatter, by the handling of the cursed blade, was forced into taking the slayer oath, following a mutation of the flesh. While our kinsman has earned his honor in glorious death, this insult is not merely to him, nor to just our clan, but to the very honor our Karak. It is the duty of every dawi to see this wrong righted, by destroying the cult, undoing their schemes, or such vengeance as to deliver a message to the Dark Gods.
Grudge Type: Blood Grudge
Target: [Up to GM on which forces of chaos apply]
Grudge Completion: Vengeance in blood or effect. Must be enough to harm the cult in question.
For SL...I think it works like this.
Dodge 46
Roll 47? Failed. Because 46 is your skill level.
Roll 46? Passed. SL 0 (4-4)
Roll 40? Passed. SL 0 (4-4)
Roll 39? Passed. SL 1 (4-3)
Roll 30? Passed. SL 1 (4-3)
The 1's digit helps you pass tests. A 49 is better than a 40 because it is +9% chance to pass. However, it doesn't help with SL. That is only the 10s digit.

Carrots player here:
For Sharing maps, what I do on games I am Dming is this:
1: I open a google draw document and put the map in there.
2: I put the enemy/npc art on somewhat bigger pictures, so that people can actually see the artwork.
3: I think hit *Share*, save the map name, and you need to click both the "anyone who has the link" button and then set the other drop down on "coauthor", so that others can actually move their characters on the map.
4: The Syntax on Paizo for sharing this is [url'=actuallinkgoeshere]Samplemap[/'url]
or
[url'=https://docs.google.com/drawings/d/1oNy6ec86AX0VhwgOYsff6ptp-2WTvmSVPaw9mf_5Cvk/edit]Sample map[/'url]
without the "'" I used to make the link fully visibile, it would then be
Sample map
The resulting link can also be put into either your DM profile, like for example with my GM account, or in the campaign info thing.
Liliyashanina
Notes, this is obviously not perfect, its quite easy for a player to accidently move the underlying map (and thus mess things up), rather then his characters, and there are also some other possible misclicks, but it is less setup then running a roll20 or foundry instance, and it works reasonably well most of the time.

Trappings:you have at the beginning of the game your class trappings (Academics, Rogue, Warrior and so on..) AND your career (Guard, Engineer, Entertainer...) trappings.
Academics: Clothing, Dagger, Pouch, Sling Bag containing
Writing Kit and 1d10 sheets of Parchment
Burghers: Cloak, Clothing, Dagger, Hat, Pouch, Sling Bag
containing Lunch
Courtiers: Dagger, Fine Clothing, Pouch containing Tweezers,
Ear Pick, and a Comb
Peasants: Cloak, Clothing, Dagger, Pouch, Sling Bag containing
Rations (1 day)
Rangers: Cloak, Clothing, Dagger, Pouch, Backpack containing
Tinderbox, Blanket, Rations (1 day)
Riverfolk: Cloak, Clothing, Dagger, Pouch, Sling Bag
containing a Flask of Spirits
Rogues: Clothing, Dagger, Pouch, Sling Bag containing 2
Candles, 1d10 Matches, a Hood or Mask
Warriors: Clothing, Hand Weapon, Dagger, Pouch
So Carrot starts with Warrior trappings (a one hand weapon, daer and pouch) no armor, and Guard trappin ( Buckler, Leather Jerkin, Storm Lantern with Oil)- he gets 1 armor point on Body, and his buckler gives him+1 SL on his Defense rolls
BUT: when you advance in your career, you must BUY your new trappings

Carot, I saw that your character sheet is mostly not filled out. There are some things that you need to choose on...
Talents
* You need to choose one of the following
* Diceman (if you pass a gamble check, use SL or 1s digit for SL. For example, if gamble is 30 and you roll a 29, you can have SL 1 as 3-2=1, or you can have SL9), Etiquette (Servants), Strike to Stun (all improvised weapons have pummel quality and you ignore penalties for aiming for the head when have pummel quality), Tenacious (double length of time endurance lets you endure hardship)
* Savvy (+5 Int) or Suave (+5 Fel)
Skills
* You chose your racial skills (3x at +5, 3x at +3)
* However, you have 40 skill points to spend altogether on top of that. Max of +10 in any one skill. This is the list you can choose from based on your career
* Consume Alcohol, Endurance, Entertain (Storytelling), Gamble, Gossip, Intuition, Melee (Basic), Perception (you need at least 5 in each to advance to the next tier in your career)
* You started with +5 melee basic. From the 40 skill points you can spend another 5 to push it up to +10.
Experience
* You chose your race and class, so you get 0xp for that. GM might allow 25xp as you chose human...and if you roll the chances of getting that are really, really high.
* You rolled for stats and kept the stats as they were. You get 50xp for that
* This can get you +2 to WS, T, or Agi. It can be spent on skills. Or saved up.
Trappings
* Being a warrior gives you this: Clothing, Hand Weapon, Dagger, Pouch
* Being a guard gives you this: Buckler, Leather Jerkin, Storm Lantern with Oil
Armor
* Leather Jerkin: 1 armor body (can spend 2 silver to upgrade to leather jack, which gives armor to body and arms)
* Buckler: 1 armor all (and defensive!)
Money
* You start off with 1d10 silver
* A halberd costs 2 gold (SB+4, Defensive, Hack, Impale, long reach) [polearm, not melee basic]
* A spear costs 15 silver (SB +4, Impale, very long reach) [polearm, not melee basic]
- I'd save up for the halberd. They are *amazing*
- Reach: If your reach is longer than the foe they have -10 to hit you
- Defensive: If you are wielding such a weapon, gain a bonus of +1 SL to any Melee Test when you oppose an incoming attack.
- Hack: If you hit an opponent, you Damage a struck piece of armour or shield by 1 point as well as wounding the target.
- Impale: Impale weapons can kill with a single clean blow. Impale weapons cause a Critical Hit on any number divisible by 10 (i.e.: 10, 20, 30, etc.) as well as on doubles (i.e.: 11, 22, 33)
- In my humble opinion, halberds are one of the best weapons possible. Offensively, extra critical hits is huge. It doubles your chance! It is good vs armor, and it also helps defend you. Spears are a lot cheaper and are longer...but the defensive quality alone is amazing.
- Otherwise? If you choose strike to stun then a pummel weapon is a good choice. Because you can force endurance tests to stun enemies each round.
Fate and Resilience
* You have 3 extra points that you can place as you wish. Fate (don't die) and fortune (reroll) share the same number. Resilience (ignore bad effect) is the other option.

aside to foretell your death in an incense-laden, coming-of-age
ritual called the Dooming. In conjunction with your GM, come up
with a suitable Dooming. Should your character die in a fashion
that matches your Dooming, your next character gains a bonus of
half the total XP your dead character accrued during play.
* Animal Affinity
- Max: Willpower Bonus
- Tests: Charm Animal
- Wild animals feel comfortable in your presence, and often follow
your lead. All creatures with the Bestial Trait not trained to be
belligerent will automatically be calm in your presence unless they
have a reason not to be, such as pain, an attack, being naturally
hyper-aggressive, or having nearby young.

Also note: I am sure that I get things wrong. If anyone sees any errors in my character sheet or the like, please tell me. For example, I realized that I had gotten my trappings wrong and have fixed it. Glad I caught it before any combat started.
