Probably not, you have to announce it when you roll, or do another roll on a different target (up to the GM on that one though), but I think Shalyna may have gotten something. A +2 would give her a 21 diplomacy check.

If I knew that he was going for Diplomacy roll, I'd certainly try to help, obviously Zane was not doing much...Anyway, for next time guys, feel free to PM me, or post here, it's easier if we work together :-)
Sorry. I'll try and tell everyone my plans from now on.
If she can, Shalyna will go inside and help in anyway she can, even if it's just entertaining the kids of waiting parents.
If not, she'll try and get word in and then entertain the kids of waiting parents to try and get them to like her and understande she only wants to help.

Np at all, let us see how will the GM interpret things happening until now (told ya it was better to come here with her berries :-) and then we'll see what next
Yeah, I honestly probably should have made the Diplomacy checks, as mine is a bit higher than Shalyna's... but it all worked out okay. Just a normal part of play-by-post games, especially at the beginning.

I think there was some misunderstanding from my post. I did not mean to imply that anyone was simply helping for a reward. Tidus was just stating the obvious, not knowing most of the people involved.
It was meant to be more of a "Rally the troops" type of speech, not an accusation.
Oops, sorry. It's really hard to tell inflection in text without actually describing how he's saying. Do you want to roll with it or do you want me to change it?
Whenever I'm posting from my phone, I tend to omit certain details since it takes me so long to format and fix auto-correct errors. I'll keep an eye on that in the future though.

Tidus, Shalyna I am not sure if I can "assist" (Aid another) in Knowledge checks, but I have Knowledge Nature +5, so if needed, please do tell, and I will roll to assist.

So, are all of you OK that we head and search for moss, and we can discuss what to do with other stuff on the way there, or you have some other proposals, ideas, or preparations to make?
Edit: Additionally, a rules question I don't think I have ever heard come up. (It's always considered a free action in our group.) What kind of action is it to shrug off my backpack and drop it on the ground at the beginning of combat? That should reduce my encumbrance from Heavy if I get too much weight, but make everything in it inaccessible. (Which doesn't include any weapons, armor, shields, holy symbol, or spell component pouch.)

A few question for the GM based on the map he has provided, and some "hints" we have:
1. For some reason, the map link is not working anymore. I still have it open on my laptop, but if I try from any other device (home computer, iPad) nothing loads. Is that your intention or...?
2. Looking at the (still open) map, I am guessing that we're going either to the middle or the most northern lumber camp location (the one in the middle, or the one on the right), is that correct?
3. From Shalina's description
Shalyna Alathreil wrote:
"If there's a dark damp place with lots of metal around, we may be able to find the ironbloom mushrooms there."
and looking at the map, those Crags seem like a most likely place to explore next. Questions are - would Zane know about The Crags (I'm guessing yes, since he lived there all his life), and would he come to the same conclusion I did (dark, damp place, lots of metal around - The Crags)?
4. Since it seems that both Tidus and Zane have exhausted their knowledge, where remaining components might be found, do they maybe know someone we could ask in the village, or in the surrounding? Some resident druid or something alike...? Please tell if a WIS check is needed, so we can roll one.

The map works now, maybe it was not working only for me. Thanks
As for Milon Rhoddam, do we have any idea maybe if he is a "permanent fixture" in one of the Lumber camps, or is he moving around, in which case we simply hope to find him in the one we are heading to? Or is he, gods forbid, based in Falcon's Hollow?
Male Human Ranger 1 HP 8/13| AC 18 T 14 FF 14 | CMD 17 | F +4 R +6 W +1| Init+4 | Perc+5 | SM
What a silly situation - Zane has very low Charisma, and still, due to people in Falcon's Hollow being insolent and mistrustful towards strangers, he ended being the party spokesman, since he is the only one originally from the village.
I am having two issues - how to play him properly, emphasizing his low Cha score, but at the same time not alienating other people, because he is more than aware how serious the Taint is. plus, I do not want to feel as if I am stealing your spotlight, some of you, in this case Shalyna or maybe even Hassan are more suitable to be in the "party spokesman" role. but, as I mentioned already, specific attitude towards strangers is...not helping at the moment.
Point is - please do tell me if you feel that I am "over-playing" Zane somehow, I am really doing my best to present him as someone who is a bit uncertain about other people, and rash, impulsive, impetuous (maybe even brazen) sometimes. Thanks.

Actually, I think you're doing a great job. Not the best speaker, not the best "face" but still a local boy trying to do what is right.
Good job! I am enjoying it (and my CHA is abysmal too) and that's the point.
I am so sorry for the delay. :( Finals are finally over, however, so I should be able to pick up my speed. Though it doesn't seem I have been needed quite yet.
So while we wait for the next game related post, I just thought I'd brag a bit that I'm now a college graduate. :) I'll be moving to Fairfax, VA in the next few weeks in preparation to go on to grad school in the fall! :D

Guys, do not get me wrong, I am perfectly happy that GM accepted this, and that we have a good spot for camp, but usually if more than one roll is needed for the same skill, second (or third and so on...) rolls should be done by a different person. Luckily, Hassan rolled so high that we should be more than fine :-)
Male Human Ranger 1 HP 8/13| AC 18 T 14 FF 14 | CMD 17 | F +4 R +6 W +1| Init+4 | Perc+5 | SM
Nevermind mate, forget it. It was my bad probably - a GM in our local (RL) game makes different people roll for double (or triple) checks for the same skill. So if he says "Roll Survival 2 times" it simple have to be rolled by two (different) players, based on the following paragraph in Core rules: "For getting along in the wild or for gaining the Fortitude save bonus noted in the first table above, you make a Survival check once every 24 hours."
Anyway, this is probably some simple house rule/interpretation, sorry for bringing it up in the first place.
Back to the matters at hand - since Hassan wanted to take first watch/shift, are you guys OK if Zane takes the next (or the last watch/shift - best hunting is then, pre early dawn)?

Firebeard is happy to take whichever shift. He doesn't sleep much anyways, and can practice kata while on watch.

Cool deal. I love making maps for my games. I use MapTools, and I have a forest trails map that is over 2 km of forest trails. Comes in right handy for outdoor adventures.
