Hello, everyone and congratulations on being selected for this adventure. If you haven't already, please complete your character sheets using the character creation criteria below.

Character Creation Guidelines
1) 15-Point Buy, 1st Level
2) Core races only.
3) Choose two traits. You can't have more than one of each type of trait (regional, combat, faith, etc.)
4) I'd prefer no evil alignments, but if it makes sense for your backstory AND you can play relatively well with others, I'll allow it.
5) Max HP at first level
6) Average starting gold for your class

Also, please let me know what connections or possible connections you have in Falcon's Hollow - parents, lovers, employers, friends, etc. If you need help with this, let me or your fellow players know.

How We'll Play
I like to have fun and err on the side of fun over rules. This is usually in your favor, so if you show creativity, we may be able to avoid a dreaded dice roll (the dice roller on this board often hates my players).

I will roll initiative and use your passive perception for you when necessary. This speeds up the game considerably (so please include your initiative and perception scores high on your character sheet). If you wish to make an active perception check, please state so and roll the dice. If I don't want to use your roll (or if it's stupidly low) I will simply reject it. Your group initiative will be averaged and then you or the enemy will move first, depending upon whose is highest. This may inspire you to change feats or traits, as individual initiative is less important than in a normal game.

When doing a skill check, go ahead and state what skill you're using and roll the dice. Again, I might reject your roll if it is unnecessary, but it speeds thing up if I don't have to ask for it.

Let me know if you have any questions and when your character sheet is ready for review.

I'm looking forward to getting started!

Male Kelishite (Human) Cleric of Sarenrae 1

Lol, I was up pretty late last night so I think my character sheet's already done... but if you can see anything that needs changing, let me know.

Thank you for picking Shalyna. I think I got everything done for her and Fluff. Hopefully my horrid luck with second-line characters gettign into melee won't continue.

I would say that pretty similar is with Zane (char sheet done). Only thing remaining for me is to ask if you feel that it is OK if Zane starts with a set of thief's tools. If yes, I will amend the character sheet appropriately, and I believe I'm ready to go ;-)

Edit: One more thing - in which category are the werewolves? I need it for my favourite enemy, are those Humanoid/Human, Humanoid/Shapeshifter (if that category even exists) or something third?

Hassan, the only thing I see is that you have 2 ability points left to spend. You might have to remind me about your Genie trait in game, as I don't have that add-on for Hero Lab.

Shalyna, which specialization school and opposition schools did you choose?

Zane, you can start with the thieves tools, but I'll need the rest of your money. As for werewolves, use Human (other subtype) and just make sure it's clear in your profile that other=humanoid shapechangers.

Shalyna is a Universalist. Sorry I just realized that it never got put on the sheet.

Male Kelishite (Human) Cleric of Sarenrae 1

I do? Ah, I wasn't thinking, lol, hadn't put my racial +2 in Wisdom as I probably should have. I guess that's the downside of being up late... your mind works fuzzily. (I actually had to make another slight change this morning, realized I had forgotten a spell component pouch.)

Two points will go into Constitution, giving me an extra hit point and +1 to my fort save.

Thank you for the chance to play this character. He's been bouncing around in my mind for a while now. I'll have the detailed sheet fleshed out in an hour or so.

edit: Interesting group makeup we have here. I like it.

edit2: Okay, I think that Firebeard is now finalized.

@GM Idyll - Thieve's tools added, rest of the money removed, now I'm broke :-( I have updated char.sheet with Favourite enemy, so I believe I am ready to go.

@Firebeard - I am absolutely "aligned with you, setup is rather interesting: 2 rangers and a monk for combat, plus mage and priest, while rangers do the "roguish" work...no barbarians (thank god for that) or ordinary meat-shields , I mean fighters....sounds challenging, we'll see.

@Tidus - What's your favourite enemy if your archetype has one?

I have a couple of more things to ask of everyone:

1.) Please let me know what connections or possible connections you have in Falcon's Hollow - parents, lovers, employers, friends, etc. If you need help with this, let me or your fellow players know.

2.) How old is your character?

@Hassan - that looks better. I think your sheet is pretty close. I do have you coming in at heavy encumbrance though. Do you want to drop any of that stuff to bring the weight (56 lbs.) down? Also, I think you only have about 18GP remaining - the number in front of the PP is probably a typo.

@Shalyna - The only thing I see is that it looks like you have an extra point in Sense Motive (unless I'm missing where that's coming from - which is entirely possible). So why'd you choose universalist? I've never played with one before in Pathfinder.

@Zane - You can sell some of your other gear and get 100% of the value for it, if you'd like to have a little pocket change.

Female Tiefling Magus (Bladebound, DG: Ranger) 4 HP: 44/44 | AC 20/15/15 | CMB: +7 CMD: 21 | Resist: Cold 5, Electricity 5, Fire 5 | F+7, R +8, W+7 | Per:+9(+11 When wielding Thunderous Howl) Darkvision 60 ft., Init: +6 Arcane Pool: 5/5 |

1.) I really don't have much of a clue, but maybe Shalyna was drawn by tales of fey in the nearby woods and thought that it would be a good opportunity to learn some of their legends and tales.

2.) 125 yrs old. She completed her apprenticeship about 2 or 3 years ago.

@ GM Idyll: Whoops. That's my fault it should be fixed now. I pick universalist because this is my first time playing a wizard and that greatly simplified picking spells.

@ Zane: Hey now! I play fighters, rogues, rangers, and a barbarian. The barbarian happens to be one of my favorite characters.

@Firebeard, you look good to go. How many shurikens are you carrying?

HP 25/25 AC 15 Touch 15 Flat 12; flurry unarmed +4/+4(1d6+3/1d6+3); shuriken +3/+3 (1d2+3/1d2+3); grapple +8; F +5 R +5 W +5 INIT +2 Perc +8 CMB +6 CMD 17

There should be 40 in my equipment list. Average gold and 15pb...you're killing me here :)

That's okay. I had a witch rolled up once that had to roll starting gold, and began play with 30g (avg: 105). Of course, I think I rolled two 18s for stats and nothing was below 12, so the dice roller was just leveling things out.

Yeah - this will be a little tougher than my normal adventures, but I believe in you guys. Even without a traditional meat shield.

How much does a Bich'hwa cost? And what damage does it do? And, finally, are there any special qualities to it?

Male Kelishite (Human) Cleric of Sarenrae 1

1) No residents, likely, but I'd likely have gotten to know the people on the caravan I traveled in with. They'd likely stay in town a short time to resupply and buy new trade goods.

2) Currently 22 years old. His exact birthday is unknown, estimated sometime in the summer. He has always celebrated it on the 1st of Erastus.

As for character stuff... I keep coming up with a weight of 53 exactly. And looking at my cash, I'm getting 90.18gp left, going from the class average of 140. I'm going to doublecheck that since it doesn't quite match either of our figures...

Equipment: (* - item from Adventurer's Armory)
Hide Armor - 25lb. - 15gp
Heavy Wooden Shield - 10lb. - 7gp
Scimitar - 4lb. - 15gp
4 Javelins - 8lb. - 4gp
Backpack - 2lb. - 2gp
Blanket, Common* - 1lb. - .2gp
Chalk - 0lb. - .01gp
Fishhook - 0lb. - .1gp
Holy Symbol, Wooden (Sarenrae) - 0lb. - 1gp
Soap* - .5lb. - .01gp
String (50ft.)* - .5lb. - .01gp
Spell Component Pouch - 2lb. - 5gp

Weight Total:
- Armor = 25 + 10 = 35
- Weapons = 4 + 8 = 12
- Other = 2 + 1 + 0 + 0 + 0 + .5 + .5 + 2 = 6
- Total = 35 + 12 + 6 = 53

Money Total:
- Armor = 15 + 7 = 22
- Weapons = 15 + 4 = 19
- Other = 2 + .2 + .01 + .1 + 1 + .01 + .01 + 5 = 8.33
- Total = 22 + 19 + 8.33 = 49.33
- Remaining = 140 - 49.33 = 90.67

For connections, I have almost all of them :-) Seriously, being a local/native, I envisioned Zane to know quite a lot of people in Falcon's hollow. Aside from his parents (father-lumberjack, mother-housewife), and 4 more brothers as lumberjack/carpenters, I placed in my biography (if you are OK with that) that his 2 other brothers (yep, it's 7 of them total, including Zane) are sheriff's deputies, so I'd say I know Sheriff Deldrin Baleson as well.

On top of that, I would certainly add local herbalist Laurel, as a part-time employer, and prostitute Ralla Hebbradan, as potential love interest (he's in love with her, while her feelings are probably not "on the same level").

Are those OK, or you would like to edit some parts a bit?

Zane is 18 + 1d6 ⇒ 18 + (3) = 21 years old

No need for pocket change, I will "acquire" somehow what I need in-game, and I need my equipment.

Figured it out - I had that you had a holy water flask and a healer's kit. Also, the soap I added was one full pound. Now the gold and weight are in alignment. Not sure why that was - you're good now!

Male Kelishite (Human) Cleric of Sarenrae 1

Ah, you must have caught me when I was fixing it. I had forgotten a spell component pouch and realized I did have a few spells that needed one, and got rid of the holy water and healer's kit to keep the weight down. :)

I think a Handy Haversack is the most important magic item you can get, even compared to weapons and armor. :D

My apologies. There's no source for the Bich'hwa in the PFSRD, just the stats (5g, 1d4, 19-20/x2, 2 lbs, P or S). I didn't check. Traditionally, it's set of blades mounted on a wooden handle (also known as Tiger's Claws, but they come in a variety of forms). I'll replace them with a siangham and a kama (2g and 3g).

Nothing personal on the Barbarian, Shalyna, it's just usually when I see someone playing barbarian, it is some perfectly optimized war machine, with some lousy (if any) explanation for weird combo's, starts, choices, and usually their role-play starts and ends with - I roll, I hit, I kill it!

No worries, I was just poking a little fun, it's just hard to convey inflection with text. In case you're curious here's the character. Very much not an optimized combat build.

Male Kelishite (Human) Cleric of Sarenrae 1

One day I think I'd like to play a barbarian with a high intelligence, just to mess with people's preconceptions. :D I wonder if it could be a viable build? Maybe use combat expertise, and some improved maneuvers that hinge on that?

Sorry, I organize Pathfinder Society on Sundays and so I didn't even see this thread until now!

But I'm SO excited to get to play! :)

I am going with Humanoid (Reptilian) with my Favored Enemy initially.

1. The only people in Falcon's Hollow I'd consider friends are Laurel (of Roots & Remedies) and Lady Cirthana, priestess of Iomedae. Living in Falcon's Hollow for roughly 8 years, I definitely "know" most people. But Tidus has mostly kept to himself since the death of his brother and only socially interacts with those that he trusts.

2. Tidus is 24 years old.

Male Half-Elf Fighter (Lore Warden) 1

Hey Zane, I think you added up your damage incorrectly. Heavy Flail is a 2-handed weapon, so your damage should look more like:

Heavy flail +5 (1d10+6/19-20/x2)
*Heavy flail +4 (1d10+9/19-20/x2) *POWER ATTACK

Thanks for the tip, as you can see I was unsure whether Power attack had it's damage multiplied also, or not (I wrote both +7 and +9), but it seems it is multiplied, making me a happy little puppy :-)

For the first line (standard attack) it was an oversight on my part, glad you caught it. Thanks a lot for the help.

Tell me Tidus, since we are both rangers in a relatively small area, and we both have Laurel (of Roots & Remedies) as contact, I even had my character "working" part time for her, it would make sense to say that Tidus and Zane know each other? An not just simple "Hi, I barely remember your name" acquaintanceship, but maybe they had some closer cooperation (joint hunts and such), or maybe even a bit of friendly rivalry? What do you think?

Liberty's Edge

Male Human Ranger 1 HP 8/13| AC 18 T 14 FF 14 | CMD 17 | F +4 R +6 W +1| Init+4 | Perc+5 | SM

A question for the GM - some of my skills could be boosted by additional +2, but only within the limits of my "Favoured community". Where are those limits in your opinion - for example, in the city itself, obviously I would get those bonuses, but what about if I'm in a dungeon, let's say a mere 2 miles from the city? Is it a "No bonus" in there, or...?

True, I'll only get this at lvl. 3, but I plan to survive until then, and I'm hoping your campaign to last ;-)

No worries, Tidus. Glad you're here! I'll check out your character sheet and let you know if I have any questions.

EDIT: Everything looks good, Tidus.

I was kind of hoping that Zane and Tidus could have either a playfully competitive relationship (as suggested) or, if we adjusted the ages slightly, a mentor/pupil relationship. If you aren't interested in either, that's totally fine with me.

As for favored community, I think it would apply to dungeons/caverns/sewers within city limits, not two miles out. I hope we all last long enough to argue the finer points of that ability in the future. :)

Liberty's Edge

Male Human Ranger 1 HP 8/13| AC 18 T 14 FF 14 | CMD 17 | F +4 R +6 W +1| Init+4 | Perc+5 | SM

I would be OK with both friendly rivalry, or with mentor/pupil relationship (on any end of the relationship) and I would not mind adjusting my age if needed (OK, somewhere bellow 17-18, and above 50-ish is a bit too young/old for my taste still)...

Tidus, what say you?

I think Zane should be the younger, as Tidus could be a little older and jaded due to the loss of his brother. I like that Zane is the youngest of 7 brothers and has two older brothers in service to the sheriff.

Hold the phone! I found the stats for the bich'hwa in the Pathfinder Campaign Setting, page 207. can I use them? Or would you prefer me to go with the other weapons instead? I just like them because they give me S or P damage with one weapon (less to carry), and they just look neat.

You can use them. What are the stats?

Wow. I hadn't intended it to be the case, but it looks like I have the highest AC in the group. I guess I'll be closer to the front lines than previously planned, lol!

...assuming I can get Shalyna to use the wand for me, of course.

I'm working on getting the first gameplay thread posted - bear with me, folks!

Just FYI, here's what I'm working with in terms of character connections. Let me know if you have issue with any of it.

Zane and Tidus - playful rivalry

Shalyna and Firebeard - Shalyna, recently finished with her apprenticeship is exploring the world and collecting information from some of its interesting regions. She met Firebeard one evening at an inn a couple of weeks back. Sharing a similar passion for justice, the two bonded and have traveled together. Firebeard has served as kind of a bodyguard and Shalyna has served as a friendly surrogate when they roll into a new village.

Hassan - You have been in town for two weeks, but haven't really made any connections since your caravan left. Your only acquaintance is with the innkeeper, Jak.

The gameplay thread is up! Let's get this party started.
