The one talking replies to the question.
#1 "The new director is a former doctor who climbed the ladder. He claimed the ratio of staff overlooking patients was too much and it'd be more efficient if a few of the staff would be working elsewhere."
#2 "Poor judgement as i'd say it is, he knows how to run a place aside from that. Which doesn't mean i'm returning to that place."
#1 "Pardon the curiosity, but why do you want to go there? Are you visiting someone, or maybe have someone admitted?"
Lyssa Kail
Lyssa walks up to Father Burdoc and the men.
None over your business why we're going there...
Bluff: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (5) - 1 = 4
"We, uhhh... We're salesmen," Lyssa replies to the men. "We're going there to, uhhh... sell stuff... Like salesmen do... Because that's what we are."
GM Chyro
The three look at Lyssa, then burst into laughter.
"Miss, most patients are better liars."
When that dies down, they look at you again.
"No really, something must be special if you're headed that way. You can tell or not, but we won't press if you don't. We are off to Magnimar tomorrow morning."
Father Burdock
Shocked at Lyssa's poor bluff, Burdock shakes his head. "To be honest,", the dwarf giving a scolding eye to the lightly dressed woman before looking at the men. "... we're looking for an expert of some strange languages and caught wind that someone there could help us understand some of it.", the Toragite going with the direct approach. "Found new work in Magnimar?"
GM Chyro
"Some of the higher staff, like the librarian or the priest, might know more. Some of the crazies speak dialects or foreign tongues, the rumoured Vault case does too. Pray you don't have to resort to the latter."
#2 "We've got a contact there who said he needed more people, so we're good."
Sabel Ea'tari
Sabel stays at the table. She toys with the spoon in her stew thinking about earlier today, regretting that she showed what was done to her.
It was a long time ago...
GM Chyro
With th night drawing into the later hours, the patrons head either out or upstairs.
The beds are soft and warm.
The following morning, the innkeeper greets you as you come down.
Feel free on any RP
"Good morning to you, care for a light breakfast?"
Breakfast consists of bread, cheese, sausages and either milk or mead.
@ Elsa: "You especially, you must have been quite tired. I hope the bed was to your liking."
Jadwiga Elsa Harcatha
It was sufficient Innkeep. Elsa says imperiously, her previous mood gone, vanished like a snowflake on a sunny day.
What next? We go to this place?
Father Burdock
Burdock tries to quietly maneuver himself in the room, as not to wake the others... but the constant clanging of metal as he dons his armor never fails to make some noise. He then heads outside and, hammer armed, smashes the earth with his instrument, saying a prayer to Torag for their travels. He pounds the dirt once more followed by another prayer for the strength of his steel and the steel of his resolve. A final whomp is followed with a final request, that there is purpose with the party he is involved. This is followed by a contemplative silence as the dwarf tries to reach out to the Dwarffather, the sun's morning rays glinting off of the polished dwarven armor.
Wiping the dust off of hammer, he returns inside, nodding to the innkeeper's greeting. "Some breakfast would be mighty appreciated, good fellow!", eating his fill of breakfast sausage, cheese, and milk.
While Burdock does try to get up early for his prayers and ritual, he doesn't aim specifically to be up first. Usually 6am so he can eat by 7-ish.
Lyssa Kail
"Uhm... yeah..." Lyssa backs off from the conversation with teh asylum men.
------
The next morning Lyssa makes sure she's the last to get up and dress herself. With the room empty she takes a position in the middle of the room, and practices several kata she learned at the temple where she was raised.
I've somewhat neglected this the past few days... It shouldn't happen too often.
When done practicing her kata, Lyssa adds some strength exercises like push-ups. Lyssa eventually joins the others downstairs, and eats her breakfast.
"Ready to leave when you are," Lyssa says when done, gulping down the last bit of milk from her cup.
Sabel Ea'tari
Sabel heads for breakfast without any preparation. She arrives perfectly dressed as normal. When the food is set out she nods to the innkeeper.
"Yes please. A good breakfast is the best start of the day!"
After breakfast she will shoulder her backpack and string her bow, ready to leave.
GM Chyro
The 3 Father Burdock had spoken to wave him a good journey as they leave.
Your coach drivers were waiting for you, all prepped.
The trek that day proceeds mostly well.
1d4 ⇒ 4 That is until one of the wheels of the front coach gets damaged by a bump in the road.
The angle of the bump is unnatural, this was man made.
The driver goes to the back of the coach and opens a compartment with materials to fix the broken wheel.
Some of the nearby bushes rustle slightly and a shadow of a tree seems a bit off.
No take 10 or 20 here.
Sabel Ea'tari
Perception: 1d20 ⇒ 11
Sabel casts detect magic and if nothing is out of the ordinary she steps out of the coach to help the driver.
"Ever the lucky ones we are."
Jadwiga Elsa Harcatha
Why did you cast detect magic?
Perception: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
Why are we stopping. This is unacceptable!
Father Burdock
Perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20
Father Burdock, stepping down to try and assist the driver, notices that the bump is suspicious and not just a normal pothole. His dwarf senses tingle as his darkvision allows him to spot a shadow that is off in the trees behind him. He then quietly whispers to Grint and Lyssa, "Think we are about to be ambushed.", trying to give them a short moment to prepare before loosening the strap on his warhammer.
Waiting for them to prepare before making any threatening actions. If a round passes and no attack occurs yet, he'll call out to the baddies and cast a spell.
Alas, the pains of having a LG character who worships a LG deity that really doesn't like lying :P
Lyssa Kail
Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (19) + 8 = 27
"I see," Lyssa replies as she steps out of the coach. She takes a stance of total defense, and waits for the ranged party members to take initiative.
Grint Mavric
Perception: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (1) + 13 = 14
Grint wakes from a dreamy-eyed state as he was pretty quiet during breakfast and hadn't awakened yet fully, as the cart breaks down he doesn't notice anything wrong with it.
When Burdock and Lyssa mention an ambush he looks up and draws his bow.
"Well if you say so. Point me towards them and I'll see what I can do."
Grint aims to climb atop the coach and get a good view of their surroundings after the warning of Father Burdock.
GM Chyro
Height bonus to perception +1
Grint spots a dog near a tree to the west. It appears to be an attack dog.
"Seems we've been spotted boys, time to get some plunder."

Cast bless, so +1 to hit for the entire party!
Grint Mavric
"Watch out guys, they have an attack dog!"
Grint aims his bow at the northern most archer and fires two shots in rapid succession at him.
Ranged Attacks, Rapid shot, Deadly Aim, Bless, Height Bonus?: 1d20 + 6 - 1 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 6 - 1 + 1 + 1 = 131d20 + 6 - 1 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 6 - 1 + 1 + 1 = 14
Damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 71d8 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
Two misses
Sabel Ea'tari
Sabel grins widely as they show themselves.
"हो सकता है कि आप वास्तव में भाग्यशाली रहे हैं."
Sabel points at the dog and Hank materializes behind it. He immediately starts attacking the dog.
Atk roll claw 1: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 = 22

Might be you are the lucky ones actually.
Too bad you blessed everyone before Hank was out :( Mini Sabel is Hank.

Elsa's eyes flash with arcane power as she hurls a ball of ice and snow at the southernmost attacker of Father Burdock Snowball: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15 Cold: 3d6 ⇒ (6, 1, 6) = 13 and DC 18 fort or be staggered. Then Elsa searches in her belongings for her Wand of Mage Armor.

Father Burdock
Ouch... thank goodness for not dumping Con! Think my level 4 stat increase will be to round my Con to 16 for more HP at this point <_<
"Yeaaaaaaaargh!", Burdock screams as the mace smashes his head, denting his helmet in the process. The dwarf still stands, although blood drips down the front of his face.
That decides my next action I think.
Lyssa Kail
Lyssa circles one of the mace guys so she ends up in flanking position with Father Burdock. She assumes a position of the crane style, and throws a defensive punch at the mace guy.
Punch, Attack Defensively, Flanking, Bless: 1d20 + 5 - 2 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (16) + 5 - 2 + 2 + 1 = 22 Damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6 Bleed damage: 1d4 ⇒ 3

Father Burdock
The cleric realizes that even with Lyssa harrying the bandit behind him that he was in trouble. Stepping to the side as to not be as distracted but to make sure Sabel doesn't suffer the same vicious flank attack, the dwarf turns an offensive spell into one of revitalization.
Spontaneously converting Spiritual Weapon into CMW
Concentration for 2nd level spell: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 24
Cure Moderate Wounds: 2d8 + 3 ⇒ (8, 7) + 3 = 18
Thank goodness!
Though bloodstained and the dent in the helmet still evident, Burdock stands much more defiantly at the aggressors.
"Bring it, ye thieving lot of goblin droppings!"
EDIT: Darn you GM, making it obvious! :P

-Grint puts down the dog.

Melee, bottom: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12 Dmg: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
Jadwiga Elsa Harcatha
Wait. Elsa is prone? How did that happen? When did that happen? What is going on.
GM Chyro
Nasty attack dog bit your ankles, then beat your Cmd for trip.
Jadwiga Elsa Harcatha
I didn't see that anywhere in the combat log....also no 5' step when staggered, a single move or standard action
GM Chyro
It was on the Round 1 results spoiler.
Then as for 5ft, it'll hit and miss Burdock.
Jadwiga Elsa Harcatha
Well since Elsa isn't threatened she will stand up and hurl more frosty death Snowball: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15 Cold: 3d6 ⇒ (4, 4, 1) = 9 and DC 18 fort or be staggered.
She hurls the snowball at the closest enemy who isn't in melee.
GM Chyro
Ok, changes related with CMB will be put outside of spoilers too.
As for the snowball, the ones not in melee would be the ranged two, beyond snowball's current reach. Luckily.....these thugs have but a Tac of 11, so i'll apply the -4 penalty and you hit the staggered.
Round 2
-Ranged, both moved and took potshots, both missed.
-Father Burdock heals himself for 18.
-Grint puts down the dog.
-Melee
Top (-9)attacks Sabel, hitting for 6.
Bottom (-13), staggered as he is, 5ft steps to a prone Elsa, swinging his tormentor for 7.
-Elsa throws a snowball to shut the bottom guy up, he goes down.
-Lyssa's up.
-Sabel & Hank
Map updated
GM Chyro
This guy would drop, Sabel's in line of sight of the other, who's facing 3. Unless she'd like otherwise, 1 standing is better than 2.
Grint Mavric
Depends... if they are staggered we could attack and 5-foot step away, getting no retal on the following turn as they can't move and attack in the same turn. A little metagaming knowledge, but I would suspect if we become more in tune with each other we might get to know such tactics.
Jadwiga Elsa Harcatha
Elsa would attack the one closest to going down. Pretty much always.
Lyssa Kail
@GM: The thug hit by Lyssa has to take 1d4 bleed damage at the start of each of his turns, because she caused him to be bleeding. He hasn't yet taken that damage.
Punch, FoB, Attack Defensively, Flanking, Bless: 1d20 + 4 - 2 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 4 - 2 + 2 + 1 = 6 Damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9 Bleed damage: 1d4 ⇒ 1
Punch, FoB, Attack Defensively, Flanking, Bless: 1d20 + 4 - 2 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 4 - 2 + 2 + 1 = 23 Damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4 Bleed damage: 1d4 ⇒ 3
Lyssa moves slightly so she continues to flank with Burdock. She distracts the thug with a purposefully missed punch, then hits him with her other fist.
GM Chyro
Ah no that bleeding dmg was taken into the 9 he got. 6+3 remember.
Round 2
-Ranged, both moved and took potshots, both missed.
