"No I don't think that's a good...well I mean...there could be those undead behind both doors. I'd say if we are going to go, lets just ignore he trapped one for the moment."

Following up, "My opinion of course." Hemlock fidgits with crossbow pulls nervously.

Dash examines the trapped door, but waits for the group to come to a consensus about what they're doing?

Since I'm puppeting Dash at the moment he won't be making any decisions. The three of you need to decide on a course of action.

"You got that right Al. Also, if anyone is going to be opening doors Circe, it should be Al. Let the guy with the claws go up against the monstrosities," Dash says with a wink. "Don't worry, Hemlock, I should be able to neutralize this trap." With that Dash cracks his knuckles and rolls his shoulders once or twice before setting to work.

Circe gives a little shudder. "I really hope that there are no more monstrosities to go up against. Though I'd be more than happy to let Al open any doors for me. Just in case."

we forgive ya dash

Male Varisian Tattooed Sorcerer(Arcane) 6/Oracle 6(Lore)

Aky nods in agreement "One door at a time. Let us deal with the one entrapped. Perhaps due to the ward, there will be no guardians beyond"

Dash traces lines of magic with his fingers and as he begins to pull one the portal glows red and pulsates. Realizing this is a bad thing Dash tries to put the magical thread back even as it pulsates faster. As the light begins to crescendo a bead of sweat drips down Dash's forehead. Dash places the thread back where he think it goes. Just as he's sure the traps about to go off dash places the thread back and shifts it back into position. The portal magic rapidly changes blue before disappearing again.

Dash:

You didn't disarm the trap and you nearly set it off. At the very last moment you kept it from going off. ;-)

Human Summoner 5 / Dragon Disciple 2

Al nodded with approval at Dash and Circe. "That is fine with me. One thing I did let my upbringing teach me is how to be a gentleman."

He also nodded his assent to Aky's possibility. "That may be. I hope you are right. Shall we proceed?" he said as Dash seemed to finish his work.

M Half-Elf Alchemist|HP:50/40|AC:15|T:12|FF:12|CMD:15|F+9| R+9| W+6|Init+4|Per+10 Half Elf Alchemist 6th

Watching Dash's attempts at disabling the magical trap, Hemlock says, "Blue is good right? I mean you arent disintegrated or anything so it must be good."

"Yes Al, right behind you, whichever one you chose."

M Fetch Nin3/Sorc3|HP:44/44|AC:15(19w/MA)|T:15(19w/MA)|FF:11(15w/MA)|CMD:16|F+5|R+9 |W+4|Ini+8|Per+7|Res cold & elec 5

After replacing the thread Dash wipes the sweat from his brow and laughs nervously. "Oh boy. That was really close... And yes, blue is definitely good, but *only* because I'm not disintegrated. I can try it again, but I'm not so sure that I can do it now."

Dash smiles weakly, clearly somewhat crestfallen. He looks around at everyone and says "What do you think, should I try again?"

Anyone who has it feel free to roll spellcraft.

Hemlock nods over his shoulder to the other door across the room, "At least there we KNOW we someone won't get disintegrated just by opening the door."

Human Summoner 5 / Dragon Disciple 2

Al shakes his head as he looks at the trap. "If you feel less than confident, maybe a break would help clear your mind. We should check the other door first. And then, if we need to, we can come back after you have collected your nerve."

If no one has a problem with it, Al is ready to go through the other door. We can go ahead and assumes he does that if there are no objections.

M Fetch Nin3/Sorc3|HP:44/44|AC:15(19w/MA)|T:15(19w/MA)|FF:11(15w/MA)|CMD:16|F+5|R+9 |W+4|Ini+8|Per+7|Res cold & elec 5

Circe watches Dash examine the door and tries to think if she knows anything that could help him.

Spellcraft DC 20:

Glyphs are tied specifically with areas or portals (as in doors, chests, etc). You can either dispel them, bypass them, or set them off in order to get around them. Some highly skilled can also disable them.

Dash:

Even if you cant outright disable it you may be able to dispel it, go around, or simply set it off.

Female Tiefling Wizard / 1

"You know, I could cast dispel magic on the warded door and see what happens." Circe looks to the others for their opinion before doing so.

Male Varisian Tattooed Sorcerer(Arcane) 6/Oracle 6(Lore)

Aky smiles at Circe "The pretty lady also has a brain. How marvelous" He says with sincerity.

Al walks over to and opens the door to the right.

Door to the right:

Anyone looking into the door sees a 10X10 room. Leaning against the walls and in piles are various implements for a number of tasks. On one side are mops and buckets. The back wall has a small spring that seems to be carved out of the wall that leads to a small man made basin that drains away. Though only a trickle comes out the hole seems to be made for a much larger volume. Presumably the spring is nearly run dry.

On the opposite wall are candelabra ranging from free standing floor to much smaller sitting on a small table. Many are gold, but some are of less precious materials. On that same table is a leather rolled bundle. It appears to be something for storing and organizing small tools. For what it is impossible to say without opening it. Also there is a dagger with a bejeweled handle and a waved blade. Atop the dagger sits a thumbnail sized ruby. Under the table sits a small chest.

Male Varisian Tattooed Sorcerer(Arcane) 6/Oracle 6(Lore)

Aky peers into the room and quips "This just gets more and more interesting. I feel like we're explorin a dangerous dungeon, right in our backyard." He says with a big grin. The young man never seems to be upset or bothered, always with a smile or joke no matter how serious things get.

Human Summoner 5 / Dragon Disciple 2

Al takes a look around the room and announces"Well, there is not much to explore over here. It looks like a storage room with some treasure in it. Our necromancer doesn't seem to be in here." He turns to Circe, "It appears that we should at least try your dispelling to get by the glyph if we are to get to the bottom of this mystery."

Dash:

Though runes are typically invisible until set off you think you remember where it was when it glowed blue.
You think you could probably mar the rune from a distance. It'll go off, but you can probably stay out of the blast range. Of course that'll depend on what spell is actually in it and what the rune does.

Casting Dispel Magic on the ward. Standing as far back as I can while doing it too.

Dispel magic check 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21

Do you have any feats/abilities that increase your caster level for dispel purposes?

Nope

Still curious about the answer to the question, but with that roll...

Circe winds up and tosses a ball of transparent light that shifts as it flies. It hits the keystone of the door and for half a breath nothing seems to happen. Then the rune and trailing magic surrounding the portal shifts to red and beats rapidly as it did before. Then it turns blue and seems to smoklesssly burn itself away iridescent ashes falling off the wall and vanish even before they hit the ground.

Female Tiefling Wizard / 1

"Well, that was interesting. Dash, want to check it out again now?"

I like flavor text espically with magic. ;-)

Human Summoner 5 / Dragon Disciple 2

Al came back over from the other door. "That looked spectacular, it could be a trick. I would feel better having Dash take a look at it, but I am ready to open that door too if we are ready."

I like flavor text too, that one was fun. It doesn't mean that I won't be a little suspicious though! Anyway, Al will open the door providing Dash gives something besides a negative response toward doing so. In fact, Al will check it out himself first. Perception check: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (20) + 7 = 27

You think the room basic storage. With a very low int check you figure the candlabara and knife are for some sort of profane ritual(s). The rolled implements are covered, so you can only specualte as to what they may be.

M Half-Elf Alchemist|HP:50/40|AC:15|T:12|FF:12|CMD:15|F+9| R+9| W+6|Init+4|Per+10 Half Elf Alchemist 6th

Hemlock will uncover the rolled implements using the tip of his loaded crossbow

He'll speak over his shoulder to the rest of the group in the other room, "I think we have cultists here. These things look like they are useful for profane rituals."

Rolling the bundle open on the table and flipping the protective flap with you dagger you see a number of well made instruments. Initially they appear medical in nature, but your trained eye recognizes them for what they are. Tools of torture. Many of them seem to deal specifically with bloodletting. Masterwork tools (torture)

Nothing magical. Just masterwork dagger and tools.

Dash lets out a low whistle. "Wow, Circe, that was impressive. I wonder if I can figure out how to do that. But you're right Al, no reason not to check again."

Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12

As he examines the door for more traps Dash speaks over his shoulder. "Rituals, huh? Anything else good in there, Hemlock?"

Sorry about the poor posting again guys. Internet was kinda spotty today.

Human Summoner 5 / Dragon Disciple 2

"Well, even if there is nothing magical in there, let us not burden ourselves with it until we have to come back through here. Those golden candlesticks looked somewhat valuable."

Al waits until their curiosity was satisfied, and then motions with ease that they should probably proceed. He wanted to make sure that they were all ready before he opened the door. It was too bad that he did not find a spot behind Circe, but her safety was much more important than a good view of her back.

Female Tiefling Wizard / 1

"Thank you Dash, though it was certainly no less impressive then what the rest of you have done." Circe finds a spot somewhere with a view of Al as he prepares to open the door.

"Now...I hesitate to ask considering we just fought flayed undead and we now have possibly the instruments which flayed them BUT... do we want to know what's in the box?"

Hemlock points animatedly at the chest in the room.

Male Varisian Tattooed Sorcerer(Arcane) 6/Oracle 6(Lore)

"I DO!!...But uh, curiosity's always been a weakness of mine" Aky says a bit excitedly.

Female Tiefling Wizard / 1

"If their skin is in there, I may be sick. Though if you really want to open it I would suggest Dash check it first. Just because the door wasn't trapped doesn't mean that the chest isn't"

Human Summoner 5 / Dragon Disciple 2

"I am cool with you guys checking it out. I will just keep an eye on this door in case something comes out."

Watching to see what happens.

"You're just trying to put me in harm's way here, Circe," Dash says wryly. He then walks over and starts examining the chest for more traps.

Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (12) + 7 = 19

Female Tiefling Wizard / 1

"Consider it my revenge for scaring the crap out of me earlier." Circe sticks out her tongue at Dash after saying that.

dash:

You find no traps and the door no longer radiates magic upon close inspection.

Dash chuckles. "Fair enough. But don't think I'm done with you yet."

Sorry if I wasn't clear, I wanted to check out the chest in the other room.

No traps or locks. When you open it it has red and black candles in it. As you look at the candelabra you see specks of red and black wax.

Female Tiefling Wizard / 1

Circe peers over Dash's shoulder as he looks in the chest. "Candles? Well that's a let down. Don't get me wrong though, I'm glad it's not flayed skin or anything gross. I just thought it might be something more interesting that just candles."

Circe shrugs and begins to move towards where Al is standing near the other door. "Well, I can only hope to be equally disappointed by whatever is behind this door. You ready Al?"

Circe stays behind Al as she waits for him to open the door and really hopes nothing disgusting jumps out at them.

Human Summoner 5 / Dragon Disciple 2

"I certainly am." he states cheerfully. After taking inventory of the people in the room, he moves toward the door.

For a moment he hesitates to open the door, but not out of fear. He actually considers yelling or falling to the floor as he touches the handle as a joke, and figures it might be a bad time for it.

He opens the door and peers through. Perception Check 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21
