Ryvin frowns... and starts into the forest, to find out more about this odd object. The Dreaming Place has its own rules, its own reasons for throwing things your way, and like saidar, it sometimes has to be allowed to do things its own way.
But not always; Ryvin embraces the Source as she goes, all the life and light of the One Power filling her. At the same time, a quarterstaff appears in her left hand. (Concentration check: 1d20 + 29 ⇒ (16) + 29 = 45.)

Chapter 2
A ringing bell sound, lite at first, yet gaining volume, begins to pull you from the world of slumber. Whether within the cocoon of warm blankets, or within Tel'aran'rhoid, the bell brings you back.
Your body aches and groans, a reminder of what occurred the day before, as you push yourself out of your bed.
Taking a moment to stretch and rinse your mouth, you cannot help but wonder if this was just a dream.
Stepping out into from the bedroom, your companions walking out with you at the same time, a servant greets you all.
My lords and Ladies, Friend Ogier, you have been invited to have breakfast with Master Taim. I shall inform him that you all are awake, and shall be with him within the hour. Good morning.
With a deep bow, the servant turns and leaves, closing the door behind him.

"An hour, is it?" Ryvin says, staring at the closed door. "That's pushing it... But I think I'll manage."
As casual as anything, the Ebou Dari selects a heavy piece of furniture, sits down, wedges her feet underneath and starts doing sit-ups.
If anyone gives her any funny looks, she explains in a casual tone of voice: "Wasn't able to do my daily workouts under those thrice-bedamned sul'dam. I need to get back into fighting form."

She pops to her feet and stretches as she quickly dons her clothes that were laid out. She than fastens on her armor and her weapons. She would be ready if need be. She than walked checked on Litheene Sedai, and than waited out in front of her door.
" Hoping we get more time, today I need to get to the clothier and see what dresses and clothes on can get, as well as get some more practice in" she says her fingers running across the pommel of her swords as she seems to be zoning out a bit.
Litheene:
You feel a odd sense of distraction and a hint of lust in the bond
Litheene wakes up, quickly verifying that her companions and stuff are in order This new world, anything might happen here.
She is quickly reminded of her unhealed cuts, as she tries to walk about.
Noding to Vala with an unreadable expression.
Vala:
You sense curiosity mixed with frustration
Litheene then approaches Ryvin, watching her exercise for a few minutes. The Suldam didn't let you train? My, and here I was sure mine was among them. If there is anything good to ever come from them, is me having at least a minimal amount of endurance.
Vala:
Litheene is bothered at the mention of Seanchan, and conceals it with cynicism
She approaches Ryvin more closely. Sorry to ask this of you again, but I'll be glad for another healing. Can you perform the weave we saw yesterday? I'll be glad to show it if not. We can link to add more power, and, I also have this The last part is said in a whisper, as Litheene shows Ryvin the Angreal.

Jasmine awakes rested, having decided at the last minute to forego her excursion into the world of dreams. Having been invited to breakfast as well last night in a most gentlemanly manner by Mazrim, Jasmine enters the private dining room looking radiant in a flowing gown of sheer golden silk. " And when you do rise above your past chains you never know what things may come your way" she says blushing and smiling like some farm girl the morning after her wedding.

"Nah, keep that in your pocket," Ryvin says, after one glance at the angreal. "I've got it."
The Ebou Dari frowns, the glow of saidar surrounds her, and she reaches out one hand to grab Litheene's ankle.
Overchannel check: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (11) + 16 = 27. Major Healing for 4d8 + 9 ⇒ (1, 8, 5, 6) + 9 = 29 hp restored.
Ribbons of Air, Earth, Fire, Water and Spirit rise up around Litheene and surge into her, completing a weave that somehow has her as a part of it. An integral part, even. When the weave fades five minutes later, it takes a lot of the aches and pains she was still feeling away with it.
Saidar winks out, and Ryvin resumes her exercizes. "The whey-faced tvethig who held my leash said I 'needed to look my best'," she says, mimicking a Seanchan drawl. "Some nonsense about making me 'pretty and soft', and parading me with ribbons. Bit miffed when these showed up." Ryvin fingers one of the white streaks in her hair and barks a laugh. "Really made my day, seeing her all upset about that. Her own bleeding fault, what with her filthy sul'dam 'training'."
Keelix:
When Ryvin speaks of the sul'dam, the anger is her is kindled, as if someone were breathing on coals. She is having a little trouble keeping it bottled up.
Litheene readies herself for the regular shock of healing, but instead, the weave complements her body, healing in fully, without intrusion or fatigue. So that's how it is on the receiving end
Litheene looks at her closed wounds in amazement. Still, the power of the weave, strong as it may be, isn't enough to fully restore her from her injuries. At least now I'm not about to fall over
Vala:
You feel Litheene's well being suddenly improved, overlaid with interest and satisfaction
Thank you Litheene's gratitude is shown clearly in her expression. As Ryvin resumes her exercises, Litheene moves next to Amorial.
You've mentioned Yesterday your desire to become a warder. Unusual for an Ogier though it may be, you have interesting arguments to support your decision. I still need time to think about the implications, as I'm just getting accustomed to having a warder at all. However, the more pending question for this to even be considered, is whether the bonding weave even works on Ogier. If I may Litheene extends her hand to Amorial.
Assuming Amorial allows her to touch him, with the clear intention of channeling at him:
Litheene senses through his body, probing with a pattern similar to the bonding weave, yet using only a trickle of the power, to see if the weave is able to form within him.
Rizzin - that's your call for a decision if Ogier can be effected by this weave :)

"Wait does that mean, you felt what happened last night...Like 'everything'" She asks turning a little red
Litheene:
You feel a feeling of embarrassment and shame as she stands right next to you stoically save for her reddening face.

Keelix moves to stand near Ryvin.
Ryvin:
You feel a rock solid sense of support from the bond, and an iron determination.
As Vala speaks quietly to Litheen, and turns a little red, Keelix glances briefly over at them and a small smile curves the corners of his mouth.
Litheene blushes slightly, waiting to regain her Aes Sedai face before speaking Yes, the bond works both ways, and just like you feel me, so do I feel everything that ... happens ... to you. Litheene sights I guess it can't be helped. From what I know, over time it's possible to learn to control the feelings flowing through the bond, until then we just have to live with the consequences.
Is it possible to transfer the Bond without me dying? As mentioned, I'm the only one in the (large) group capable of bonding without dangerously over-channeling
I may not get another chance, the emotions of an Ogier should be different enough, maybe it'll even help me switch the focus from the extremities of Vala's emotions Amorial Suth, you are the first of your kind to pass through this rite. Assuming you still wish it, welcome, friend and ally, to the ranks of white tower warders If Amorial agrees
Litheene smiles and holds on to her angreal, increasing the flow of power into him. Time to find out if it works

Litheene:
as you lay your weave upon Amorial, you feel it hit some resistance, as if the very nature of Amorial is resisting this weave. Drawing more power into you, and forcing it, you break through this barrier, and a wash of emotion flows into you. Anger, pain, longing, flow through the bond, and almost shocking you into a coma.
amorial:
You feel a delicate wisp of something float about your skin. As it begins to penetrate your skin, you suddenly feel an urge to resist. Your body at first rejects the wisp, only to allow it in. With it entering your body, your core, a knot of emotions, long dormant, denied, and ignored, suddenly spring to life.
Amorial suddenly leaps to his feat, his mouth hangs open, a bestial howl erupts from his throat, shocking everyone from their morning rituals. Blood vessels, hidden by fur and fat, suddenly flare up, his muscles bulge out, his hands grasp the axe that is always near him. Muscles flexing, he charges forward, headlong through the closed door. The door bursts apart in a shower of splinters, barely slowing the mighty giant down.
Amorial hurtles through the long hallway, howling like a rabid wolf. Servants leap out of his way, fearful of this strange beast in their midst.
Proving he can get louder and deadlier, he howls his anger, and with a roar, hurls his axe over head, directly at the wall. The massive blade whirls once in the air, and what should have been the sound of metal bouncing off stone, instead the sharp crack of metal disintegrating stone upon impact, the blade head driving itself deep into the granite wall.
Standing still for long moments, Amorial finally catches his breath, and returns to his senses.
Turning, and looking down the long hall, he says Sorry. My apologies before falling over, unconscious.
Female Human (Borderlander) Armsman 7/Woodsman 3 Reputation: +10 Warder bond w/Litheene,HP:116(current 86)
Vala springs forward sword out and into a defensive stance flawlessly. She looks to Litheene and than to Amorial. The Axe flys and Vala swiftly shifts to a more offensive stance.
When Amorial falls Vala looks to Litheene and the others and than walks over to look at him.
"Okay, well that went well" she said as she checked him out. he seemed no worse for ware and smiles "He seems okay? Hey Litheene did the bond take or did he you know get all crazy cause it failed?"
Do I still feel a bond connection with Amorial? If yes, what is he feeling? How is it different from Vala's? If not (actually, in any case) intelligence check to understand what happened: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 = 20. Maybe a knowledge Arcana can be useful here as well: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (14) + 17 = 31

yes, you felt Amorial through the bond, his presence. For his emotion, all you felt was rage, sheer rage, anger, and destruction. It was vastly different than compaired to vala. It felt duller, at first. You felt his shock, it was noticeable, but just there. When his rage kicked in, you felt that with almost the same similarity as with vala

"No offence to you, my friend," Ryvin says as she puts a hand on Litheene's shoulder, "but I am going to answer that particular question with 'something stupid'." She shakes her head. "Light! We'd better get some cold water to splash in his face... that, and ready the Harden Air-weaves in case he wakes up stroppy."
Litheene back away in surprise at the sudden outburst.
Vala:
You feel surprise, confusion and shock
As Amorial falls, Litheene sprints after him, though she is outraced by Ryvin and both warders. Litheene is so focused on trying to understand the bond inside her and what Amorial feels, that Jasmine's voice takes her by surprise as she notices that her old time friend No, the person of this world who was my friend in ours delves her New warder? Is he really?.
He, I, well, this is apparently what happens when the bond warder weave is applied to an Ogier, astounding Litheene seems to lose herself for a moment.
Vala:
You feel Litheene amazed and very curios, like a brown who just stumbled upon a new and amazing knowledge. But the feeling quickly recedes to be replaced by worry
The weave worked. But it fought him to work. Something was different, and he was suddenly overcome by extreme rage. I've never seen Ogier on this side of the Aryth behave like that.
Litheene feels through the bond to see if Amorial is injured or fatigued, keeping quite at Ryvin's scolding. This is my responsibility as a sister. If he was damaged by this weave, it won't matter if he wished it or not. Twice I've disobeyed the tower custom on bonding. The first brought side effects to inconvenience me, but this time, if I've done harm to another, I'll present myself to answer for it before the tower, once we get home. Right now, I just need to do what I can to make sure he is alright

Litheene turns towards the soldier who spoke, her ring showing No need to worry. We are guests of Lord Taim, and were preparing for our upcoming breakfast with him. Hmmm... 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (6) + 9 = 15
jasmine:
Your weave encounters an unknown, unseen resistance. With some effort, you are able to force the weave through this resistance and delve into amorial. You find that he is healthy, yet in shock. His brain shut down to preserve his mind. You feel that letting him rest will be enough to allow him to recover.

Yes it did, though what exactly is IT we are yet to see Thank you once again for your help Jasmine, is he alright? Though Litheene also senses him through the bond, she feels safer to verify after all that happened.
Assuming Amorial is not expected to wake up in the next few hours: I suppose Taim will be waiting for us soon. I think we should let rest and come back to himself. I'll notice if he wakes up. Also, I doubt we should speculate on the subject in the middle of a hallway

After changing from night clothes into the temporary dresses provided by Taim, Litheene and Ryvin are joined by Jasmine as they walk towards the chambers where breakfast will be served with Taim.
A servant opens the doors to the dinning room, and you see that Taim is no where to be seen. Yet, the table itself brims with food. Sausages, eggs, chicken, bacon, ham, steak, potatoes, water, wine, milk, fruits and more are piled upon the table.
As you make your way in, you begin to hear the sounds of muted voices coming from the door to the right. Only able to tell that two men are talking, you begin to move about the table, putting it between yourself and the door.
A moment later the door is flung open, and a very angry Taim stands with his back to you, talking to someone.
I dont care. Tell your men to get rid of their superstitious nonsense and be ready to fight. An Aes Sedai can die just like anyone else, and nothing bad happens to the person. I have personally killed 4 of them as they sought to capture me, and look at me now. Get the men ready!
Turning he takes a step and focuses upon the three of you.
Pursing his lips, he closes the door, using his body to hide whoever he was talking to until the door shuts.
My apologies, my ladies. You werent supposed to hear that exchange. Dealing with that ...person always gets my blood boiling.
Walking towards the head of the table, he pulls out a chair to his right, and looks upon Jasmine, a familiar smile upon his face.
My lady, you look ravishing this morning. I see that our conversations last night didn't keep you from achieving that perfect amount of beauty sleep.
As he pushes in the chair for Jasmine, he takes the chair at the head of the table.
Please help yourself. I have excused all the servants from this area, and have warded this area to prevent our conversation from reaching those spies that walk among us. So, tell me, have you come to a decision regarding my proposal? He asks, directing his gaze towards Litheene.

Now he resides within the white tower. The group is within Salidar for the purpose to act as liasons between the Black tower and the rebels, but things have gone awry since they arrived. The delegation from the black tower was attacked and only one has survived so far, the Whitecloaks are moving to attack Salidar from the north, and news of the Seanchan moving in from the south has just been revealed by the Amrylin.

If you are a fan of the series, then you may want to look into joining this group.
The group has a wide variety of classes, from aes sedia to Aiel, to an Ashaman and an Ogier blademaster from Seanchan.
Perhaps you have always wanted to play a Tuatha'an? or a wolf brother, or perhaps an Aiel that can channel? Or even a Darkfriend?
PC build: 25 point buy

Max HP.
Max Marks (gold).

Apologies for going AWOL. I couldn't find my copy of the rules, nor an easily downloaded replacement. I read a few things I had, as well as skimming Under the Dragon's Banner. I really can't commit the time to making a suitable entry at this point. Good gaming!
What's funny is I found this thread as I took a break from reading Lord of Chaos.
I have the WoT RPG book, and I used to have the Under the Dragon's Banner netbook, although I'll have to redownload it.
I'm not 100% sure I have time for another PbP, but I am interested. I'd like to read some of your gameplay thread, as well as learn more about your game. A question:
When you say 25 point buy, do you mean the Pathfinder version or the one in the WoT rule book?
currently the setting is in the midst of book 7, a crown of swords. but the difference is that the majority of the group were taken from the main realm into a mirror world through a portal stone by a black Ajah. actually, the party was split and sent to two different mirror realms. one realm actually had Saidar tainted, and the aes sedai were all men. A combination of aes sedai and Whitecloaks. the other group was ported into a realm where the battle of dumai wells was a failure. the Asha'man didnt arrive in time, and the aiel were victorious, to an extent. they failed to capture the dragon reborn. he now resides within the white tower walls. the Shaido aiel have taken Cairhein and are moving south and east.
The group was just in the mountains, in a ter'angreal travellers house from the age of legends. within this house they discovered a room that allows them to travel to anywhere they have been in their past, so long as the location hasnt changed as much. while testing it out, the group has wondered into a trolloc encampment 100 miles south of the blight border. the blight has begun to build up within the area.
at this time, they are being attacked by a group of trollocs...
Okay. I read the first couple pages of gameplay, and it felt like the characters had an established backstory as a group.
I'll post up a character for perusal today or tomorrow. Would I be from the mirror world or from the world they are currently in? Just so I know for backstory purposes.
Yes, there are two other threads that date back to 2011 That establishes this group.
You would be from the mirror world.
Also, feel free to make whatevet you feel like, dont think you have to make a pc to fill a nitch. If you want to play a fallen aiel that has taken to the sword instead of spear, be my guest.

Backstory:
Dengorin Kaltaneos was born second son to a minor noble family in the nation of Illian. Though not as wealthy as other families, they still had sufficient coin that he had a comfortable childhood, and he was given a noble’s education, including the sword and the Old Tongue. His family primarily lived in the city, and so he was exposed to the sights and sounds of a major port city. His weapons trainer, an Ebou Dari, taught him the basics of the sword and the path of the blademaster, though he himself was not one.
Upon his 21st birthday, the Great Hunt was called. Seeking adventure and excitement, Dengorin went to the Square of Tammuz and took the Hunter’s Oath, and set forth to find the Horn of Valere. He believed that the Horn was somewhere on Almoth Plain, and so journeyed there with a small retinue to seek it. While there, Almoth Plain exploded into chaos with the advent of the Dragon Reborn. Clashing with small bands of Dragonsworn, he lost a couple of his companions before fleeing to Ghealdan for the winter. Ghealdan, once part of storied Manetheren, might surely hold the Horn of Valere. He set to seeking the Horn, and then the Prophet came and preached of the coming of the Dragon Reborn. The turmoil caused by the Prophet’s mobs caused him to lose more of his companions before making his way to Altara.
Dengorin seemed to be followed by chaos. He decided the horn could not be in the South, and so travelled to the Borderlands, to seek the Horn there. He and his companions clashed with Trollocs several times, and one by on each of his remaining companions has fallen. Now, there is only him, and he begins to wonder if he should return to Illian, where surely he will be safer, although he has failed to find the Horn.
Appearance and Personality:
Dengorin is a young Illianer in his early-mid 20’s, with brown eyes and brown hair and beard which leaves his upper lip bare. He is well-dressed, if not always in the most expensive clothes, and slightly above average in height and weight. His once jovial personality has hardened somewhat in light of the troubles he has faced, and he no longer believes Shadowspawn a myth. He has a healthy respect for Aes Sedai due to not understanding their strange power, and believes Rand al’Thor to be the true Dragon Reborn. He isn’t quite sure how the Prophecies will be fulfilled if the Dragon is in the White Tower, but he’s sure Aes Sedai have thought of that.
Okay. Great. I'll get an alias set up. Do I need to change anything up crunch-wise? I noticed that you have a section titled "Perception Checks" up top that only has one roll per character.

i also updated the noble class as well to be more reliant with a few special abilities
noble perks:
reference the level noble and compare to level in bard for what you are eligible to take
Noble: (Dragon Reborn #1039) The resources from the UTDB will take affect over the "call in a favor" shown in the wotrpg book.
noble knowledge: as like bardic knowledge, nobles have greater access to books, and may have read a plethora of topics to help them learn to be better, or worse, nobles. THis allows nobles to make all knowledge checks untrained, and can add 1/2 his/her noble level to said checks.
Inspire Confidence: as per the bard rule but with a minor tweak. The increase in bonus applied to those listening will be +1 every 5 levels. so at level 15, the noble can apply a +4 unnamed bonus to those listening. this effect lasts as long as the noble speaks, but should he stop speaking, the effects will last the noble level+charisma modifer in rounds. The noble cannot use inspire confidence and instill fear within the same combat.
Instill fear and doubt: the reverse of the bard rule. the noble has the ability to demand attention to himself, even in the heart of combat. with this attention, he is able to cast doubt upon his opponents, making them second guess their cause. perhaps he points out the infallacy of it all, perhaps he offers money. either way, his speech saps the will of those he and his army is fighting. this ability affects up to 2x the nobles HD in creatures if they are 4HD or more less than him, if less than 3hd or up to 3HD more he affects his HD in creatures. If 4HD or more above his HD, he affects 1/2 his HD in creatures. all creatures listening are allowed a Will save DC= to noble level plus charisma modifier plus 10. The noble cannot use instill fear and instill courage in the same combat.
inspire greatness: as per the bard special ability
inspire competance: as per the bard special ability.
of special note, sword forms are a skill that anyone can learn, so long as they have proficency with a sword blade.
info can be found here: sword form skill info
you can apply up to your level in sword form skill points.
Yup. Using pathfinder versions of feats where they duplicate. For example(s), use Pathfinder's dodge, power attack, combat expertise, etc feats rather than WoT's dodge feat.
Had some people drop out of the group, so i have an opening or two.
Setting: Robert Jordan's wheel of Time.
Ruleset: cross between the WOTRPG book and Pathfinder.
Character creation: 25 pt buy
11th level characters.
equipment: basic mundane items are available, but magical items are incredibly rare. You will start off with a +1 ter'angreal of sorts, but anything more than that is rolled for or found.
Plot point: This is a mirror realm. The battle at Dumai Wells was an utter disaster for rescuing the Dragon Reborn. He is held captive at the WHite Tower by Eladia. for the PCs, two of their own have gone after a third that went crazy and were seperated from the main party. The main party is attempting to rescue their companions AND free the Dragon.
Right now, a Deathwatch Ogier is rampaging through the White Tower killing all who are Aes Sedai. The group has just found him, but part of the group is splitting off to rescue a trapped companion who just gave birth, and another group is moving up to find the Amyrlin, who is key to releasing the Dragon.
Alright, so, always wanted to be in a WoTRPG. Let me dig up my book, but is there something that the group stands in need of? Got enough channelers? Need an agility based character or a frontline fighter? Anything that the party members absolutely will not tolerate?
Well, let's see. We currently have the following characters that appear to be active:
From the world of the books:
Ebou Dari wilder
Aiel Wilder / Wise One Apprentice
Borderlander Wolfbrother
Midlander Wolfbrother / blademaster
Borderlander Armsman/woodsman/blademaster
Aiel Algai / Aethen'Dor
From the mirror world:
Aes Sedai (and npc warder)
Andoran Asha'man / armsman
Ogier Deathwatch guard
Borderlander (I think?) noble / armsman.
Feel free to make whatever you want to make. I dont adhere to the "we need these 4 classes to make a proper party" method commonly found in dnd/pathfinder. instead players make whatever they feel like and then they go on an adventure. It is, from my POV, more realistic in a sense.
I attempt to offer a balance of RP and combat, and encourage players to utilize skills in ways not commonly thought out.
I push the envelope with RP, from cute and cuddly to GRRMartin having sex with the movie "human centipede" and this is the result. see vampric shadowspawn that looks like a cross between slime and spaghetti
I also strive to make the PCs think, and push their preconceived philosophical boundries.introducing a PC that was a seanchan noble sul'dam. lots of drama there, still unresolved
but, most importantly, i just want you to have fun.
as for setting wise, yes we are in a mirror world. It is currently book 7, at least from the PCs POV.
