Wow, sorry, I thought I was posting in the discussion thread! And I missed the edit deadline by one minute... I greatly appreciate that we keep our gameplay thread focused on gameplay, so it won't happen again.
Back on the topic we should have been discussing here: can you make the loot tracker editable?

Etna Agnes |

Sorry for the derail, too. <.<
After consulting with DMD, my 2 skill points from Know.(Law) have been relocated to Know.(Planes), specifying Etna more on Infernal laws and having a more broadly useful knowledge skill.
Etna's buy list:
MW Backpack=50 G (or the victorian flavored equivalent of a MW backpack, I dunno)
Something to safely store the contract in (any ideas?)
2X Scroll of Sleep=50 G
1X Scroll of Obscuring Mist=25 G
Tanglefoot bag=50 G
Bedroll and Blanket=6 sp
Flint and Steel=1 G
Waterskin=1 G
Silk Rope=10 G
Scroll case=1 G
Total 188 G, 6 s

![]() |

Oops, I was pricing the scrolls at scribing price, rather than retail. Guess my purchases just went up by 37.5gp. Also definitely need a scroll case.
Hey, what can you expect from a drug addict. . . . I mean a dedicated counselor.

F. Castor |

Weapons (Total 28 gp, 1 sp, 5 cp):
Dagger = 2 gp
Alchemical silver dagger = 22 gp
Cold iron dagger = 4 gp
Arrow x3 = 1 sp, 5 cp
Armor (Total 10 gp):
Leather = 10 gp
Gear (Total 186 gp, 3 sp, 5 cp):
Pickpocket's outfit = 5 gp
Masterwork thieves' tools = 100 gp
Spring loaded wrist sheath x2 = 10 gp
Masterwork backpack = 50 gp
Mess kit = 2 sp
Shaving kit = 1 gp, 5 sp
Belt pouch x4 = 4 gp
Bedroll = 1 sp
Blanket = 5 sp
Caltrops = 1 gp
Flint and steel = 1 gp
Grappling hook = 1 gp
Silk rope (50 ft.) = 10 gp
Soap = 1 cp
Torch x2 = 2 cp
Trail rations x4 = 2 gp
Waterskin = 1 gp
Whetstone = 2 cp
Total Cost: 225 gp, 5 sp
I think this should do it.
Seeing as I prefer to be without armor check penalties if I can help it, I have opted to buy a leather armor, since getting a masterwork studded leather is too expensive and would leave me without the weapons and various other knick knack's I would like Erevan to have. As for the chain shirt "liberated" from some guard's corpse and worn during the escape, you can add it to the loot pile that the PCs have accumulated so far.

Etna Agnes |

Same...I grew up reading Pratchett's novels.
Ooook.

![]() |

Sadly I missed on his novels. Read a ton when I was young, but not Discworld, and then switched from fantasy to more mundane subjects - like work stuff. Trying to get back into reading more these days.

DM Darkness |

I highly recommend the Discworld books. From the Introduction to Guards! Guards!
“They may be called the Palace Guard, the City Guard, or the Patrol. Whatever the name, their purpose in any work of heroic fantasy is identical: it is, round about Chapter Three (or ten minutes into the film) to rush into the room, attack the hero one at a time, and be slaughtered. No one ever asks them if they want to. This book is dedicated to those fine men.”
I'd be lying if I said I hadn't relied a little on that when I fleshed out the backgrounds of the various prison guards you killed :)

Felrin Vennax |

Wow, first I'd heard of his death. Sorry to hear it.
I read him a lot as a kid - a favorite of mine more recently is Good Omens, co-written with Neil Gaiman.

Did we never open the lockbox? I thought there was money in there.
Just checked - post 357 indicates that we found 1235gp in the lockbox. This should increase our loot by about 250gp each.

![]() |

Ah, but as Tiadora indicated, it's not like she is going on a shopping run for us. We cannot sell our loot or combine our current wealth with the requisitioned items at this time; we each get up to 250gp worth of equipment at this time, unaffected by anything else.
The Doctor will request the following:
1x sling - free
10x sling bullets - 1sp
1x suit of masterwork studded leather armor - 175gp
1x cooking kit - 3gp
1x grooming kit - 1gp
1x mess kit - 2sp
1x scrivener's kit - 2gp
1x shaving kit - 15sp
1x backpack - 2gp
1x bedroll - 1sp
1x beltpouch - 1gp
1x burner - 3gp
10x candles - 1sp
1x canteen - 2gp
2x charcoal stick - 1gp
1x coffee pot - 3gp
1x crowbar - 2gp
1x earplugs - 3cp
1x flint & steel - 1gp
1x hammer - 5sp
4x pitons - 4sp
1x saw - 4cp
1x sewing needle - 5sp
1x shovel, folding - 12gp
1x thread (50') - 1cp
1x waterproof bag - 5gp
1x wrist sheath, spring-loaded - 5gp
1x alchemy crafting kit - 25gp
1x reading glasses - 5gp
4x trail rations (day's worth) - 2gp
Total 248.48gp
Also, I concur most heartily, RIP Mr. Pratchett. He is and always will be one of my all-time favorite authors. Thank you for showing me your wonderfully ludicrous/ludicrously wonderful world.

Felrin Vennax |

Tkaara - the loot sheet already takes into account the money in the strongbox, in the line item labeled "previous loot".
I'll get a shopping list together soon, hopefully tonight.

Felrin Vennax |

That's awesome! We just had a cat cafe open not far from me, but owl bars I have not heard of. Funnily enough, I did not think of this earlier, but I once got to pet an elf owl.
I like owls. A lot. But not that much, you know?

DM Darkness |

Etna Agnes |

Oh, and anyone feel like petting their owl? ;-P
*Heart melts*
By the way, DMD, do you rule that familiars/ACs/et cetera are under the player control, or they're like NPCs?

Etna Agnes |

To respond to the OOC question in gameplay (we've learned ;) ): no, nothing in particular.

Felrin Vennax |

Here's my shopping list:
Pickpocket’s Outfit (nicely made - something other than the dead cook’s coat): 5 gp
Heavy mace, Cold Iron: 24 gp
Belt pouch x2: 2 gp
Pathfinder’s Kit: 12 gp
Silk rope (50 ft.): 10 gp
Artisan’s Tools (MW) for Craft (clockwork): 55 gp
Total = 108 gp
A lot of the more expensive items I'd need (MW thieves' tools, chain shirt) were provided by the nice people of Branderscar. I've got 142 gp left to spend, if anyone would like me to add their items to my list. Or, if Tiadora will allow it, I could contribute my budget surplus to Erevan, to get him some masterwork armor.

Felrin Vennax |

I hadn't understood that being First meant I was in charge, even nominally. That may not fit very well with Felrin's tendency to blend into the crowd or the shadows. Will have to see how that plays out.
On the weak-mindedness of my leadership – I would think that having my companions as well-equipped as possible would be an indicator of good strategic thinking, but Tiadora seems a little more narrowly self-interested than that.

Backpack, Masterwork - 50gp
Rope, silk - 10gp
Mace, Heacy - Cold Iron - 14gp
Case, Scroll - 1gp
Spell Component Pouch - 5gp

DM Darkness |

Felrin - think of it as Asmodeus looking to see whether you have enough ambition to be worthy of him. The time for hiding in fear is over - now is the time for vengeance! Sort of thing. But don't worry: if you turn out to be incapable of leadership you will be replaced.
(I see I started that sentence with 'don't worry'. I'm not sure why.)
After she's in her room, Etna drops to her knees and hugs her dog, tears running down her cheeks. "At least you're still here..."
For now. Heh. Heh. Heh.
Oh, and in answer to your question, you play your familiar.

I think Felrin will prove his worthiness, it's just that his methods don't necessarily involve taking a leadership role. At this point he won't be hiding in fear - I think of it more as infiltrating than cowering. We'll see how it plays out.

Winston, Etna's familiar |

Etna Agnes wrote:After she's in her room, Etna drops to her knees and hugs her dog, tears running down her cheeks. "At least you're still here..."For now. Heh. Heh. Heh.
*Whimpers*

Etna Agnes |

Hhhhm...why do I feel that DMD is plotting something big? I'm curious to know what this 'training' is...

Etna Agnes |

Just kidding, no problems ;)

Etna Agnes |

Least perceptive group of villains ever. <.<
Hopefully Felrin's detect magic will give us some leads.

DM Darkness |

OK, before anyone says anything, I took you at your word. If you said you didn't enter the room, I believed you - but I applied a distance Perception penalty (+1 per 10 feet - ironically, Erevan's trap finding bonus was juuust enough to spot the trap, if he had got close enough).
Secondly, anyone who rolls Perception is assumed to be actively looking, and thus vulnerable to traps. If Tkaara had not rolled, only Ottakar would have been at risk, since none of the rest of you entered the room.
Hope that's clear.

![]() |

For surviving the trap and finding the way out, I am forced to award you 1,200 XP. Please ensure that you have all valuables, belongings and barristers with you when you leave the chamber.
OBLIGATORY LAWYER JOKE:
** spoiler omitted **
Not if the barrister can get out.

Etna Agnes |

Basic requirements for successful villains: determination, ruthlessness, an extravagant fashion sense, reading once every odd day the Evil Overlord List, and dumb luck.

Etna Agnes |

I was reading the Doctor's profile and I noticed...
Deity: Irori
O_o
Didn't expect that.
