Eliseera Tulman |

I have finished leveling up Elsie to 7th level. All that is left is to finish purchasing equipment for her.
I was thinking of buying some wands that she can use with her UMD skill. Any suggestions as to the type of wand would be greatly appreciated :)

Varian "The Stirge" |

Okay, so I think this is roughly the party we have, which is quite balanced:
Varian / The Stirge (Tazo) - Dhampir Vigilante/Brawler (Snakebite Striker)
Eliseera Tulman (Eric Swanson) - Human Rogue
Ruby Nightshade (Lady Ladile) - Fetchling Oracle
Tella Street (AdamWarnock) - Tiefling Psychic
(Deevor) - TBD
Varian should be decent in the front lines, so I think Deevor can make the character he wants to. Since I see I have a rogue ally, I'm considering whether to try and grab Greater Feint so enemies will be flat-footed for Eliseera's benefit. Current level 5 build already incorporated feint, so it shouldn't be too hard.
As for wands, I think that Paladin Wands of Lesser Restoration are always a good deal.

Ruby Nightshade |
I agree, even a partial wand of Lesser Restoration would be nice! And on that note although she is an oracle I'm not really aiming for her to be a buff-bot but more of a rogue-like character as well. So I might be looking to get some wands for a couple of utility spells that I didn't want to put on her spell list :)

Deevor |

I am under the impression that Varian can take care of arcane magic and use arcane magic, if that is not the case I'll look to bring some sort of arcane magic to the party.
I have updated my original Brawler submission, although still have the money to spend, which I was keeping back to be able to add into any party equipment.
If we need some arcane assistance I have the bard street performer ...

Varian "The Stirge" |

Varian is a hybrid caster, casts arcane spells from the Witch spell list, but learns spells at the rate of a magus. Tella Street would be our equivalent of a full arcane caster. Between us, we'll have spellcasting covered.
Since it sounds like Deevor will go Brawler, Varian will stick with mostly Vigilante instead of dipping any further into Brawler. So no Greater Feint, but more spellcasting.

Varian "The Stirge" |

Okay, here's completed Varian. Only thing I'm still considering is choosing the avatar in masked form, though there's a good chance I'll go with this one.

GM Zed |

Okay looks like we've got:
Varian "The Stirge", Dhampir Vigilante / Brawler
Darc Jonash, Human Brawler
Eliseera Tulman, Human Rogue
Ruby Nightshade, Fetchling Oracle
Tella Street, Tiefling Psychic
...it's looking like a pretty balanced group - and definitely has a feel that is in keeping with the Blight!!!
Varian, Darc and Eliseera are all levelled to level 7 whilst I think Ruby and Tella still need rebuilding? The other useful thing that you folks could do before we kick off in earnest is work out if (and how) your characters might know each other?
Other than that, I think I am ready to go... oh, and it's going to be a wild ride!!!

Varian "The Stirge" |

In terms of character connections, if Ruby is an information broker about goings-ons in the slums, perhaps Varian would have purchased her services? That is, if she's selling to haughty nobleman.

Varian "The Stirge" |

In case it's relevant, I moved a bunch of skill points from Diplomacy to Intimidate because he really ought to be rather intimidating. Though Varian is still decently diplomatic in his social identity.
Perhaps Lord Varian LaFleur knows of Eliseera through Baron Larrieux Montpierre? Not sure if you have thoughts on elaborating--otherwise you'll just be known disdainfully as the woman who robbed one of his associates. :P

Varian "The Stirge" |

I just discovered the Shawl of Shadowy Disguise, which I've decided will be Varian's convenient method of staying hidden in his Vigilante identity.
Psyched about getting this game started!

Darc Jonash |

Darc has been a butcher (no really, worked cutting up dead animals and stuff), so there maybe some tenuous link there. But maybe better known as the protector of a brothel run by his mother or the muscle in the Red Dragon Inn .... he may very well have kicked you out whilst you were worse for wear and a little more aggressive than you should have been whilst drinking in the Inn. Worse would have been if you had been excessively rough with one of the girls or boys that work as independent escorts in the brothel. You may even have bet for or against him in unauthorised fighting competitions. Some of his most prizzed possessions have been given to him by unknown benefactors that have seen him fight. Their winnings must have far exceeded these gifts for them to have been so generous.
Some of you may have ventured to one or both locations ...
Just add the connection .... it's a bit presumptuous of me to say we know one another from the brothel or if you would have been a betting man or woman at the fist fights.

Eliseera Tulman |

I think it is likely Elsie is familiar with Darc as many of her associates would be employed by the brothel (she really has few people she would call friends he he). It is possible she would even have hired Darc as a bodyguard for some especially dangerous tasks she undertook previously.

Darc Jonash |

What the men and women of his mum's brothel do is up to them ... and who their friends are of no concern to Darc, but they have introduced their 'friend' Elise when she needed some muscle. Consider we are associates.
You might get from this he has motivation to keep himself alive and protect his mum and the more downtrodden within the bounds of the law of the Blight or just those going along their lawful business.

GM Zed |

Hmmmmm, I get the feeling that I shall be using the term 'our heroes' slightly less than in my normal games... good stuff, I can feel Castorhage - a cantankerous wreck of a city, down on it's luck and willing to do anything to regain past glories - coming to life!!!
...and, on that topic, I've got the first Gameplay post ready to fire off this evening...

Tella Street |

Okay, crunch is done, though I need to add her background and description in there. The main differences between this Tella and the one from Bloody Jack are she's more outgoing, though she has her own set of issues, and she's not a scribe that occasionally works for the watch, but an investigator. Everything else is gonna be close to the same.

Varian "The Stirge" |

I meant to add a description but lost track. But Varian uses his Shawl of Life Keeping to hold 10HP, then heals himself with an Infernal Healing wand charge.

So, over the course of the weekend, I started to watch Tom Hardy in Taboo - the BBC has, I think, just broadcast its third of eight episodes so it's got a while yet to run but I was struck by how close its early 1800's view of London was to what I envisage Castorhage to be like... the Thames running through the centre of the city - half life-blood to the mercantile city and half sewer, the huge contrast between the poverty stricken and the wealth of the East India Company... and there is a horrifically repugnant prince regent. Add to that a backstory that has a little bit of the Occult to it and I think you could certainly do worse than watch an episode or two to get inspiration as to the streets that your poor characters are walking...

Darc Jonash |

OK, being lucky enough to live in the UK, the land of the BBC, I've watched all 3 episodes of Taboo. If it's a close to how Castorhage is, OMG we're in trouble .... I might just run now ...
Guys/Gals, if you can watch Taboo, then do!! Its a good series... well the first 3 are...

Darc Jonash |

Tomorrow for 5 days at a games convention in the UK, hope to have internet connection so shouldn't interupt dying here in Castorhage ... ;-)

Perfect:)

Varian "The Stirge" |

Richard Pett! Welcome, welcome! Totally stoked that you're here! Hopefully we'll do justice to your vision. I really like the quick plot twist that's happening right off the bat.

GM Zed |

That's why I love these boards - awesome characters everyone, hope you have fun, or at least don't get too disturbed, actually being disturbed might not be an option... I'm slithering along the side-lines with my pockets full of punishments - mnaaaaaaaarrr.

Thanks for giving me such delightfully twisted tools with which to poke, prod and rend my foolish victims beloved players. Hopefully I will do your vision justice!!!

It's my pleasure you lovely people, Crucible was the first Blight adventure written, which we ran at Paizocon uk a years ago, hope you have as much fun as I did that day.

You go to a Con and Richard Pett turns up and scares the willies off me!!!!
Aaaargh!!!!
P.S. Had a great time at the Con, died with some spectacular dice rolls ...
P.P.S.... I like the way Darc is still involved without me being around ... nice one Elise ...

Ruby Nightshade |
Well, to be fair I am considered PRN staff, which basically means that I work 'as needed'. On the bright side, they've been really good about giving me plenty of hours most weeks so I'm basically working full-time hours. On the downside, I'm not actually considered full-time so I don't get any benefits...so even though it sucks sometimes, I can't really say no to extra hours as I'm the primary breadwinner at this time.

Tella Street |

Yesh, I hope insurance is at least affordable. I just hope it was because someone couldn't make it and not that there was some accident with blood everywhere or something like that.
And I thought I remembered you saying you were a nurse. :) I hope your day was good and stress free.

Darc Jonash |

Ruby, with all that human stuff, you sound well suited to this game ... ;-)
Good to get the money in while you can, we'll still be here to rol the dice with you...
