It makes sense except that when your character is the youngest child of a family that were effectively slaves and not high ranking ones at that until a few short years ago....not a lot to inherit there. Don't get me wrong, I've tap-danced around limitations like that before. There is always a way, however forced. It's more that I'm a bit at a loss as to what would even make sense for her to have. A healer's kit will blow like half the starting gold and makes sense as it's something she could have put together piece by piece for herself over time. But that still leaves me with a lot of room to play with as she's got maybe a dagger, clothes, soap, rations, waterskin, and that's about it. Maybe jewelry. But I'm not sure where she would have gotten it from. I know in a lot of cultures women would wear their wealth, and she could have reasonably taken her dowry with her, but where would her family have gotten that kind of wealth from?
It's actually pretty rare for me to have a non-eqipment-dependant character so this is not a normal circumstance for me...usually I have to make every copper count. :)

MisterLurch |

Do you have any ranks in craft(alchemy)? you could take some alchemical items she cobbled together in the past months.
or perhaps a scroll or two she found jammed in a library before she ran?
Dunno how she feels about thievery, but if your family were slaves until recent history, she could have lifted something from the evil overlords.

GM Fireclaw |

Maybe if it had been more recent it would be easier - there is an hint in my text though, but not a big one. I'll highlight for you again though. :)

*pokes thread*
Are you guys waiting on me? I'm waiting on the group to reach a consensus on what to do: spelunking or waiting on the high ground.

GM Fireclaw |

Basically what that last sentence in my posts means is this: I will not force storylines on you guys in this game - I will provide plot hooks for you guys to investigate if you so choose, but I will never compel IC reasons for you guys to follow /my/ storyline.
Not saying there isn't plenty of reasons - some of which Jericho pointed out - to inviestigate the cave, but I'm playing 'hands off' on compelling you guys to do things - sandbox game. The world happens, with or without the PCs.

@Fireclaw: Totally get it.
@Other Players: I'd suggest we take some time and 'bond' as PCs for a bit, then we can either reveal goals of our folks (if any) and then go with a natural next step.
The way I see it, if to keep things simple:
a) Tunnel, go down it
b) Head off elsewhere, together*
c) Wait out the storm, revisit this list
d) Bond a bit more, revisit this list
* - I'm /assuming/ OOCly, we have a slightly compelling reason to hang out together (exploring our Psionic side as they apparently might be unique) at this time, versus the standard 'Oh, it's the PC party, why would you split up?'.
That's my two cents. Back later tonight in case.

I believe Orthos is semi-afk, as he's got computer troubles by the sounds.
If you guys want me to kick this into a higher gear I've got a few plans already - just let me know.

Orthos |

I'm good now. Was just busy that one weekend, followed by computer troubles at work that have since been rectified. I was waiting for a response to Midha's Arcana check before I tried to theorize further, or for more stuff from the rest of the group.
So yeah, I'm all for more activity or motion in the storyline. =)

GM Fireclaw |

Whoops, I somehow missed answering that Orthos.

GM Fireclaw |

Augustus: It would be 1 extra language, as it's 1 language per rank, not per bonus. Just to be clear. :)

GM Fireclaw |

Sorry for delaying so long on a response. I blame the Distraction Elemental that is Civ V. I will definitely get us moving again today.

GM Fireclaw |

I would say that if you guys are continuing to move away from the cave, you likely will not be spotted or found. Which of course will beg the question - what to do next? There are a few mining towns nearby, you all may have passed through several on your way to this spot. Beyond that, the country of Heldenus (where you are) is still active in the Nethysian civil war. They control much of the airforce.
Basically, my question is - what do you guys wanna do?

I made a quick list earlier, hoping to engage some discussion, but- for me?
Learn more. Grow in power, bond with the others (if inclined).
Obviously, gaining XP is the nature of things, right?
That's my short macro goals. Micro? Learn more about the psionics, go do adventure stuff. Heh. Same thing!

GM Fireclaw |

Heh, noted.
That reminds me - these experiences are enough to bump you guys to level 2. When leveling up, please follow this guide:

Jericho Dask |

FireclawDrake |

Alright, I'm going to be moving us on from this current scene to something more exciting than tromping through the rain.
Although - everyone make a DC8 Fort save. Failure means you guys catch a cold for being out in the soaking wet, etc. Which has no game effect, but should be a little fun.
I will be moving us on tomorrow morning - assuming you guys are gonna make for the nearest mining settlement.

Augustus Octavianus |

Heh, noted.
That reminds me - these experiences are enough to bump you guys to level 2. When leveling up, please follow this guide:
Hit points may either be rolled at each level, or you can select to take the average of your hit dice. At even levels, you round down, at odd levels you round up. In effect, this makes it statistically better to roll your hit dice on even levels, and take the average on odd, but the choice is always yours.
Please post any and all selections made (including favoured class bonuses, feats, skill points, class features, spells/powers gained, etc) in a block of text for the record.
Since this is gestalt, please remember that prestige classes and multi-classing is disallowed for this particular game.
I are massive slacker. Pardon the delay.
Level(s) Up:
+1 Wizard/+1 Psion (Constructor)
At 2nd level, if you maintain focus when manifesting a power of the creation subdiscipline, the duration is increased by 1 round plus 1 round for every four psion levels. In addition, your astral constructs gain an additional menu option of the highest menu available when you manifest the power.
And, last but not least ... Fortitude Save!
Fort Save, DC 8: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6 -- *Ker-chew!*
I think that's all of it, let me know if I forgot something -- updating profile next.

FireclawDrake |

Sorry for the slow weekend folks. As I said in the Avalon game, I'm at a music festival this weekend (not sure if Orthos still following over there, so I thought I'd mirror it here). I will try to get a post up before bed tonight, but this is a long one I've got planned, so hopefully I'll have time.

FireclawDrake |

Just a bump that I haven't forgotten about this game, but school has been considerably busier than I expected. In restrospect, I probably shouldn't have started this game right before school was about to begin, but Hindsight is 20/20 and all.
I'm not saying I'm ditching the game, but it might be another few weeks (after midterms) that I'm able to get real updates happening again.
