One would think that having ended the Urgathoan threat to the city, our heroes would be granted more time to rest. But alas, that is not the case. For Queen Ileosa herself has condemned Old Korvosa to a slow death, and is forcing the Korvosan Guard and Sable Company out in favour of a military force loyal to her alone--her Grey Maidens.

She must be removed from the throne, and the man who has the authority to unite the Peerage in doing so is trapped somewhere in Old Korvosa.

She looks at Demitri and Nalun pleading them to take the derro back to the other room. "Let's tie him up with the others. But first, what's in the pantry? We heard some colorful stories about it."

The derro narrows his milky white eyes at Lyla. "Look for yourself. Shambling carrion."

As soon as Demitri approaches the derro, he starts scrambling for the north wall, frantically throwing aside a shelf to reveal another tunnel! "You not taking ME alive!"

Everyone's got about 1 round's worth of actions before he runs off down the tunnel. Medium-sized and larger creatures move at half-speed through the tunnel because of how cramped it is.

As she does so, a sound of rumbling stone fills the room, and rocks fall from the wall collapsing the passageway.

Demitri's question is answered as the derro squirms free from his grip. Lumbering into the room is a massively-built brute of a man, his arms a foot thick and clad in studded leathers that are clearly stretched to their limits. The man's head looks like a mass of layered, deformed flabs of flesh, his mouth and nose being his only visible bits. His greasy, mangy black hair appears to be crawling with fleas.

"Huh? Wha's all the yellin' 'bout?" He asks, scratching his head.

"Cabbagehead! Don't just stand there! Do your job!" The derro ducks into the tunnel to make his escape!

That'll provoke an AoO from Demitri & Ortik.

Ortik's hammer crashes against the mouth of the crawlspace, missing the derro entirely.

Demitri moves to engage 'Cabbagehead', and notices that he doesn't have a single weapon on him.

And lands a solid punch to his face.

Ortik spits a curse as the derro flees down the passage, but realizes pursuit isn't really in the cards - not with the immediate threat in the room. "Oi, 'Cabbagehead'!", Ortik shouts as he approaches, drawing his shield as he goes. "Focus on me for a heartbeat!" He rushes past the man, trying to distract him for Nalun and Demitri.

Moving through Demitri's square to draw an AOO. With my shield out, my AC is at the full 17.

'Cabbagehead' succumbs to temptation and swings at Ortik, but his shield takes the full force of the man's punch.

Then he turns and tries to punch Nalun as he tries to move!

His fist misses wildly and takes a chunk of dirt out of the cavern wall. "AARGH! You hold still already! How is Cabbagehead gonna break your face if you keep movin'?!"

'Cabbagehead' laughs. "C'mon! Even Greenie had better aim than all o' ya put together!" He swings a meaty fist at Demitri.

His second swing lands right in Demitri's gut. "POW! Hahahaha!"

Looks like I really can't hit the broad side of a barn today, Lyla punishes herself, remembering her earlier streak of bad shots. She puts down the crossbow for a moment and decides it is time to go back to her bombs, even if that means coming closer to depleting her alchemical kit for the day. She quickly mixes an explosive mixture and sends it flying towards Cabbagehead, landing a solid hit. "Yes! Now, that's more like it!"

--and connecting with his face. The force of the explosion knocks the large man off his feet, sending him crashing to the floor. The bomb burns off several chunks of his face, revealing pale & squinted green eyes that are wide with shock.

And not focusing on anything.
