There's a feeling I get when I look to the horizon
And my spirit is crying for leaving.
In my thoughts I have seen eyes looking at me through the trees,
And the voices of those who stand looking.
Ooh, it makes me wonder
We stand at the dawn of a new Age. The Holy Empire of Abel has been split asunder, the walls of reality themselves shudder. Thousands have already died in the chaos, and now Goldar waits with baited breath for the next terror to strike.
The ties to the Holy Empire have been broken, as well as their priesthood leaving only a small number of preachers and priest to minister their temples.
The signs of war are everywhere, the Clans raid, pillage and plunder the neighboring countries. Border skirmishers with Haufman, and Hendell is sponsoring one of the Clans to bring Goldar under their rule. While demons and the undead walk attacking villages and worse seem to travel the countryside, yet it is a darker and sinister foe that looms underneath it all…
This is a time of uncertainty and the children of the Great Beasts stir as if they have heard a call from the Devourer to raise.
Welcome
This is a game for Anima Beyond Fantasy, if you are interested in playing even if you don't own a copy of the system and setting I will help you through it.
I am looking for 3 - 4 players, I might even accept a 5th but I highly doubt it, unless I have a very strange party composition.
You are from Goldar, that means you belong to a Clan, in this case you are of the Völsung Clan.
Further information will be available as we create characters and for background purpose, once we get the stats and race, I will give you information of Goldar and if you are a Nephilim, and don't have the books I will provide with information for it.
For character creation we will roll 8d10, any rolls of 1,2,3,4 can be re-rolled. Once you are done depending on a character's stat line I will allow you to change your lowest score (5) for a 9. then proceed to place your numbers where you think it would serve you best.
If you have questions what is best for the character class you have don't be ask.
Here is when you should make your choice if you wish to play as a Human or as a one of the many Nephilims.
After that let us continue in the discussion thread.

Not a problem, you just don't get to change your lowest stat for a 9 since you are very high in everything, except for 1 thing which you are a normal persons.
Want to stay human or a Nephilim?
Common Nephilims from Goldar are Jayan, and Daimah to a certain extent. The rest of the Nephilim races are stil VERY rare in this region.

Stats: 8d10 ⇒ (6, 2, 4, 1, 6, 2, 4, 9) = 34 -> 6,6,9
Rerolls: 5d10 ⇒ (1, 10, 5, 8, 4) = 28 -> 10,5,8
Rerolls: 2d10 ⇒ (9, 6) = 15 -> 9,6
Then 5 to 9 (correct?) leaving me with:
6, 6, 9, 10, 9, 8, 9, 6
I'm thinking Human Paladin, or Daimah Ranger at this point depending on what would fit the story best/balance the party best.

Nice to know there are some people that play, I haven't played in a long time so I am refreshing my memories with the rules.
Theroythmus, if you are still interested in playing I will assist you in anything I can as probably the others if they are kind enough to do so.
I will open a discussion thread as this makes 3 players now I hope
Kip84
Maiyr
Sersei
+ Theroythmus if still interested.

Appearance: 1d10 ⇒ 9
I will go Healer with either Technician or Wizard. Really quick, is there anything banned?
I finished off on making a Wizard tonight, just playing around with material and I was curious if you allow Metamagic or other things from Arcana Exxet. I am looking at a Path Level of 80 for Creation/Literature and 40 for Essence/Knowledge. Since focus would be on heals/buffs, went for defined Magic Projection and then skimped on MP with DP and focused on Accumulation and Zeon.
Right now it is looking at a MA - 50 and a Zeon of 735.

Remember Goldar will look very bad if you are an offensive caster as it is for cowards and will not end well for you at some point.
Healers and buffers are highly sought and appreciated.
Summoner types, that depends on what comes out of that magic hat.
I like balanced characters, will take a look at Arcana, but I see no problems with it.
Surprised there isn't a lof of technicians frostkolier wannabes =3

Still interested.
8d10 ⇒ (3, 7, 9, 8, 9, 3, 9, 7) = 55
2d10 ⇒ (7, 4) = 11
1d10 ⇒ 6
7,7,9,8,9,6,9,7 after rerolls.
So what do I need to do next for character creation?
Maybe you could PM me some info? (what are the different stats and some of the possibilities of what I could play)
PS: Not certain if the lowest stat to 9 was only if you had a 5, so you just tell me if I am allowed to change that 6 up to a 9.

Rough template - Though this is what I threw together for my Wizard, depending on Class Chosen, the MA:/Zeon:/Magic Projection could change/disappear completely.
The Archtype/Classes are as follows...
Fighter - Acrobatic Warrior, Dark Paladin, Paladin, Ranger, Shadow, Tao, Warrior Summoner, Warlock, Warrior, Warrior Mentalist, Weaponsmaster
Mystic - Illusionist, Summoner, Warlock, Warrior Summoner, Wizard, Wizard Mentalist
Prowler - Assassin, Illusionist, Ranger, Shadow, Thief
Psychic - Mentalist, Warrior Mentalist, Wizard Mentalist
Domine - Tao, Technician
Novel - Freelance
Figure out a concept that you would like to roll with and I can tell you what would be closest. The setting in Goldar is fairly viking-esque.

From what I can tell people are going for the following:
Sersi: Human Paladin or Daimah Ranger
Kip84: Jayan ?? (probaby something in the fighter line)
Maiyr: Daimah Technician or Human Wizard
Was thinking something along the lines of a viking-esque warrior wielding a variety of weapons (2 axes, 2 maces, something big, thrown javelins, ...) and wearing heavy armor, probably taking the weaponsmaster class. Either a human or Jayan.
Might fit as a second frontliner next to Kip84's character.

I'll curve a 7 to a 9, since at 6 you get same bonus than 7
Your attributes really depend on what you are thinking of doing, anima is a has a lot more option to character creation, but if you want to start simple I would keep you in the Fighter, Prowler or Domine archetype.
You have this classes from Fighter archetype.
Acrobatic Warrior
Dark Paladin
Paladin
Warrior
Weaponmaster
Domine Classes
Technician (Think anime Bleach)
Domine/Fighter Class
Tao (Think Fatal Fury, Mortal Kombat, etc...)
Fighter/Prowler
Ranger
Shadow
Prowler
Assassin
Thief
Now each class has its perks and bonuses of their specialty.
Characteristic:
STR: Determines damage and if you are even capable of wielding a weapon, since you need to be strong enough to pick it up. It also determines how heavy armor you can wear.
DEX: Reaction speed (Initiative), Block defense and your attack.
AGI: Ability to Dodge, reaction speed and your movement speed.
CON: Hit points, physical resistance (Poison, Disease, Physical), Fatigue, Regeneration.
INT: Spell learning and creating
POW: Resist supernatural powers, determines Zeon (like Mana or Magic Points). Also determines Magic Accumulation.
WP: Resist Psychic powers. Also gives Psychic Potential and Psychic Points
PER: Perception, self explanatory.
Appearance: roll 1d10 or take 5 (Normal)

Found a wiki with a bit of information on the different classes and some other things about character creation.
Current ideas I have in my head from the little info I found:
1) a jayan Weaponsmaster wielding 2 of the biggest weapons he can. Possibly one-handing Two-handers due to high strength.
2) a human or daimah Tao or Technician. Eventhough there is little information about it, the Ki abilities sound interesting. Although I'm not certain where they would fit in a "viking-esque" society/place.
3) a human stealthy assassin type, but definitely doesn't seem to fit with the viking-esque idea.
