Hello Keme?
I agree with you. It shall be... entertaining

Did some totally random research...
ON the plane of fire, you only take 3d10 fire damage a round.
How is ignance's flame so nightmarishly powerful if it acts as a portal to the plane of fire?
however at the court of the lord of flame, he who consumes all... the heat is so intense that creatures immune to fire and dwell on that plane take 1d6 points of damage per round... if you are not immune to fire its a fort save vs death every round and on a successful save you take 25d6 points of damage :) hope that brings a new perspective to it

Too pissed off to think.

What other methods of punishing his subjects does the lord of fire have?

FireclawDrake wrote:Talk to David's Searing Spell feat icehawk :)Doesn't work on fire elementals or anyone with the fire subtype.
Doesn't say that. :)
A searing spell is so hot that it ignores the resistance to fire of creatures affected by the spell, and affected creatures with immunity to fire still take half damage. This feat can be applied only to spells with the fire descriptor. Creatures with the cold subtype take double damage from a searing spell. Creatures affected by a searing spell are still entitled to whatever saving throw the spell normally allows. A searing spell uses up a spell slot one level higher than the spell's actual level.

Slam attacks. There you go.
Or energy substitution.icehawk333 |

Lyn did.

Technically the slam attacks deal fire damage because they have no physical form....its all fire

Yeah. But think about it-
Fire burning fire. Now, if the fire ran on a fuel scorch, this could work- but fire elementals have no fuel.

Think of it like this, the "physical"part of the fire elemental is an "everburning" fuel...
When exposed to the lord of fire's flames their "fuel" starts being consumed

No. It's just wrong.
Can't talk me out of this.
You can't.
Burn.
Fire elementals.
Sir!
I am certain in /your/ reality, it works just the way you envision it.
However-- by agreeing to play with 'crazy' 3.5 Edition Feats and rules (which suck, IMHO), reality alters to the word of the game, not to any definition your mind set accepts as 'true'.
Therefore, either you accept the game system's rules, or you sit off to the side and rage. :)
I will point out, however, that Pathfinder, does /not/ have these insane idiotic feats, as far as I can tell, where Fire burns Fire.
:waves off 3.5: Shoo! Bad game system. Insane. Shoo! Twinks use you! Scat!

The subject we were discussing was the lord of fire's flame (in his home at the heart of the plane of fire)
Would deal damage to fire immune things
Treisdan Achdarach |
Funny, cause lyn won't let searing spell work on fire subtypes.
I went over this when i made igni...
Or I misinterpreted something.
Ending this now.
Just know that...
Energy substitution. Same cost as a meta magic, more effective, less stupid.
Because the lord of the elemental plane of fire casting a cold spell makes a ton more sense....

Slam doesn't matter what hits what. It's like falling ...it's not the fall that kills you it's the sudden stop at the bottom. A slam attack hurts like that.
As far as Ignace and her fire problem:
1. Rules light
2. She's a portal to the plane of fire. Not to a tourist section of the plane of fire. Need to check the rules for going for a swim in lava, but its closer to that I think than to just the normal damage for the plane of fire.
3. I never said her fire hurt those immune to fire.
4. Chill. See point one. :)

Actually... yeah, it kinda does. The most damaging thing on the plane of fire, to those living there anyway, is cold. The lord would basical be bringing a machine gun to a fist fight.

Except on the plane of fire its like bringing a popgun that works half the time...

First off, I'm currenty out at trivia. Should be home soon.
2) The Winter Witch, a PF PrC, has an ability at 8th level that lets you deal half the damage of cold spells to even creatures with immunity.
3) The Lord of the Plane of Fire is akin to a god, but more powerful. Though in context to this game, not more powerful than a patron.
Going back to AD&D, beings of that power level can affect beings that have immunity, with whatever they happen to be immune to.
Its no longer about fire burning fire. Its more about a being immensely more powerful than even super high level mortals. Divine Rank is a b%!#~ kids.

I'm gonna try to sleep now. I'm gonna be available most of tomorrow. Later in the day I'm going to see The Legend of Zelda: Symphony of the Goddesses. It's (as you can guess) the orchestrated version of the music from the games in a concert. Super excited. :D
