For many, a life of peace and solitude, or a place to call their own beckons to adventures after the thrill of adventuring has taken its toll on the bodies and minds of adventurers. For some, that thrill never dies.

L'os nods in agreement with Doran and Lorali. She tapped her chin thoughtfully as she thought about the other information the others came up with. "Perhaps we should split up into groups Our more physical people follow Andromeda over to that strange symbol and keep an eye and see if anything happens. While the more scholarly of us can move to the library or other places of knowledge hereabouts."

Taisia grumbled a bit but remained silent as L'os put forth her suggestion as to a course of action.

lvl 17+lycan

Lorelai tells what she found.

Then, "I think we should investigate the symbol together, just in case. Then we can split up to gather info."

Male Gnome Oracle 20

Have we tried poking it yet? Goro only seems to be half joking.

Loralai Drow of Jadestone wrote:

what was it that she found?

Also I last had Andromeda and Virgo still in the ally where the symbol was found and several other party members came to her.

lvl 17+lycan

Well I kinda expected everyone to read everybodies posts, I know I do. Basically she found some maps, learned a bit about languages and discovered that we are on another planet but in the same plane as Golarion, and there are gates to Golarion that closed, before then lots of trade happened with golarion hence everybody speaking common, and this city is a trade city. My guess is because of its proximity to the gate or gates. We kinda glazed over everybody meeting, so mysteriously everyone is together in the alleyway.

Well, most people said they went looking for the rest of the group. Even though the city is super crowded, you guys are all high level, and it would be just a nuisance to force you to roll perception checks to find each other. I figured, it would be better to assume that you found each other if you were looking (can take a 10 or 20 and find each other). From my understanding, everyone that is still active has made their way to this alleyway.

As DLH said, Loralai uncovered stuff about the planet, gates, language, and trade city. Also, she learned a little bit of the natural inhabitants.

Doran has found that everyone is overly friendly and free of worries or troubles.

L'os has found that there really isn't much in the way of children, orphanages, or poor/destitutes. She also found out the the desert is fairly dangerous and few people outside of the natural inhabitants of this planet choose to travel through it. She also found out, like Loralai, that this is mostly a trading city and few actually live here.

Shiela, Doran, and Sparky found that the little shopkeep has not heard of Kazimirez. Also, the shopkeeper mentioned something of "The Golden Hand" when it felt threatened by Sparky's overly friendliness.

And of course, as everyone seems to have gathered, Virgo/Andromeda discovered a strange, magical symbol. The symbol has a strong conjuration, calling effect similar to a "gate" spell. The symbol looks like a gauntlet forming a fist directed vertically and inside of a circle which makes it look similar to the greek letter "Phi".

I think that catches us up on just about everything outside of character. I will say that there are very few clues remaining to be found. The bulk of everything has been discovered. I think you guys are ready and don't want to railroad you guys. I do have a problem sometimes of thinking that things are more obvious than they really are and it causes issues in my personal gaming group as well. So, I apologize if things don't seem as clear to you all as it does in my head.

I was trying to possibly spur a little character Role play instead of data dumps. but that works also

Yeah, I understand, which is why I decided to add "catches us up outside of character. I put everything there just so everyone can remember what has happened. I was also hoping characters would add stuff in character and spur conversation instead of each person having to think out of character in their own personal time. Maybe with some brainstorming (for those that haven't got an idea of what is happening outside of character), the characters will have some ideas of what is going on and what might be possible next steps to take.

lvl 17+lycan

We can always let pickachu get in trouble to find out about these golden hand guys :)

I usually just skip giving info like that if it was visible to everyone because it feels more like being repetative, rather then roleplaying.

"Well fine, lets get the party started." Lorelai touches the symbol.

Apologies, should have mentioned what L'os had found but I was roleplaying her in a way lol. she was still digesting the information. At least we are moving forward somemore. ;)

Taisia grips Peacbringer, L'os calmly readies herself for what was coming next...

The symbol glows brighter under Loralai's touch. Brilliant, goldenrod-colored sparkles filter out from the symbol and coalesce; taking shape of a very large, humanoid figure approximately 14 feet in height. Within moments, the sparkles fade, and the giant's body is completely formed and clad in golden full-plate armor. The giant appears to be carrying no weapons other than his spiked gauntlets.

"I am Uriel, lieutenant of The Golden Hand's 4th Infantry. What service do you need of me?" his voice booms and echos eith every syllable spoken.

Loralai Only:
Your constant detect magic ability Reveals to you that the Giant's armor and gauntlets are magical.

Male Human Animal Lord (Wooly, Rhinoceros) Savage barbarian 18

Rorge takes Shrieker from his back, obviously hoping for a fight.

m Dwarf Cleric/20

Clucks his tounge slightly. Well this just got interesting.

lvl 17+lycan

Loralai does her best apologetic look, "I am sorry to have disturbed you. We are new here and had no idea what the symbol was for. Would I be correct in guessing the Golden Hand is this city's guard?"

"Your assumptions are nearly correct. We of The Golden Hand serve merely as soldiers and judges. Those we serve created this utopian trade city. For the sake of peace and order, The Golden Hand has also been tasked to tend to the needs of this society. If there is nothing further, I shall take my leave. These symbols are meant to be used only in emergency situations. Please take note of this in the future, says the titan. His voice never once changing in tone or emotion.

L'os raised her hand before asking her question. "Where do you send those who are judged? And are they in need of healing?"

diplomacy: 1d20 + 28 ⇒ (2) + 28 = 30

"All judgements are based on transgressions committed. Those sent away are normally sent back to their home, sometimes with a mark preventing access back int othe city," says Lt. Uriel.

Uriel starts to make his way back to the portal, but then stops.

"You did say that you are new. By your dialects, you must be native to Golarion. Might I inquire how you arrived here? A great deal of time has passed since any new native Golarions were able to make the journey here."

lvl 17+lycan

"We were hired by a powerful spellcaster. He sent us here."

"Hired? For what purpose? If there is someon in particular or some item you seek, I may be of assistance. I know that location of most of the people and shops that frequent this city."

lvl 17+lycan

"We are still looking into it, however he believes that individuals who would oppose him have contacts in the group the runs the city and we should not give any indication of what we are after lest they hear of it, at least not unless we find ourselves deceived. I dont entirely trust our employer but I would rather waste time ensureing his story and avoiding those he fears, whether he needs to fear them or not. He has waited long, so he can wait a bit longer."

m Dwarf Cleric/20

Doran blicked a few times looking at Loralai before he began speaking again.

Loralai don't you think you're telling him a little too much?

lvl 17+lycan

"No. I didn't give any details, no identification of our goal or our employer. I simply gave my reasons for not divulging our purpose. We can further discuss my reasons later."

Lorelai looks back to the guard, "Have a good day." Then she heads off to go find a snack, whilst keeping an eye out for any other such symbols.

Male Gnome Oracle 20

Goro, becoming bored of the situation follows Loralai out of the alley. So, where we goin'?

Alright, since activity is still down, pushing an event forward. After this, I'll pack the adventure up if things don't change within the next week and a half or so.

Uriel takes his leave after bidding a quick farewell. After his departure, the magic of the symbol fades to a soft glow as if it is recharging.

As Loralai and Goro leave the alley way, a large explosion is heard in the distance; the ground quakes from the sheer force of the blast. Soon, panic erupts in the streets as people flee shops and attempt to run towards the center of the metropolis.

Perception Check:15:
Beyond the chaos you catch a glimpse of the gates, and the wide area of smoke and flames erupting from them.

Perception Check:20:
Through the smoke and haze, you see a gigantic, four-armed, wingless red and black dragon flying in the sky. Smoke continues to billow from its mighty maw.

Perception Check:35:
Beyond the smoke and the choas, the colossal beast in the air does not appear to be the only threat. three other beasts are barely visible as they arrive shortly behind the larger red and black dragon-like beast. Each wingless, yet soaring through the air: A grey, almost starved-looking dragon, An eel-like icy blue dragon, and a dark green two-legged dragon covered in black spikes.

Male Gnome Oracle 20

Perception: 1d20 + 29 ⇒ (3) + 29 = 32
That can't be good!
Goro sets off towards the gate.

Male Human Animal Lord (Wooly, Rhinoceros) Savage barbarian 18

Perception: 1d20 + 25 ⇒ (2) + 25 = 27
Rorge growls and sprints for the gate drawing Shrieker as he runs.

Intelligent Fullblade

Get em Rorge!

Initiative: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13

ooc]Well our contract is still intact looks like my job is safe for another month at least lol![/ooc]

L'os Perception 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (15) + 13 = 28
Taisia Perception 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (5) + 18 = 23

St. L'os and Taisia both flinched at the explosion, they quickly sprinted out into the street behind Rorge and looked on at the wingless dragons that were attacking the city...

lvl 17+lycan

Lorelai looks towards the commotion and heads for it somewhat calmly, looking to understand rather then looking for a fight, though certainly ready to defend herself if need be.

As all four that have acted have seen or can auto pass the DC:20 check, I'm going to roll initiatives for those that don't have one yet and facilitate combat scenerio. Let me know if I mess up your initiative. We will be using block initiative. Thus Blocks are A=those acting before enemies, B=Enemies, C= Those acting after enemies. Once your phase block opens, you can act in whatever order you choose. If your block hasn't started and would like to post out of your block just in case, go ahead, or send me a few options you would like you rcharacter to do. I'll leave blocks open for 3 days or until everyone in the block has acted. If you do not act, I'll pick an option for you. Most likely I won't expend any x/day uses or spells, unless it appears to be the most helpful and reasonable choice. Also, should we be permanently down some members, I'll adjust the combat as this one is rated for the full starting group. Also, everyone after Rorge I am considering inactive for now. I won't post their actions in case of absence unless they have checked in.

Initiative Rolls:

L'os=13
Avg. Enemy Init:11.5: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (16) + 11 = 27
Goro#1: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13
Goro#2: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (16) + 6 = 22
Goro#3: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 24<-Best init. roll.
Rorge: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (16) + 11 = 27
Loralai: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14
Andromeda: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (7) + 10 = 17
Doran: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 1 = 20
Shiela: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (5) + 9 = 14
Sparky: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (14) + 11 = 25

Block A: Rorge You may choose to act before the enemies, or with everyone else after. Letting players win tied initiatives.
Block C: Everyone else.

Male Human Animal Lord (Wooly, Rhinoceros) Savage barbarian 18

Assuming that the dragons do not land rorge will continue running forward and raise Screecher above his head.
The blade lets out an ear-piercing shriek and hurls the largest pice of rubble he sees and at the closest dragon.
Attack: 1d20 + 23 ⇒ (11) + 23 = 34Damage: 15d6 ⇒ (5, 1, 3, 1, 5, 6, 4, 5, 3, 4, 1, 3, 6, 3, 4) = 54

Sonic thrust. Assuming there is a piece of rubble or other big dense object around 375 pounds.

The large piece of rubble just narrowly misses the four-armed red and black dragon. The dragon let's loose a mighty roar before swooping in to eat a few of the city folk running away.

And because I forgot to roll these before...

GM Rolls:
Breath Weapon Downtime: 1d4 ⇒ 1
# of Rounds of Thick Smoke: 2d4 ⇒ (3, 1) = 4

The other three great dragons now arrive in view of all; each letting attacking with their impressive breath weapons.

The green with black spines sprays a 60-foot cone of vapor that seems to electrify everything it touches.
Breath Recharge: 1d4 ⇒ 4
# of Rounds of Vapor: 1d4 ⇒ 1

The icy-blue eel dragon shoots a 120-foot line of icy liquid that freezes everything it touches.

Breath Recharge: 1d4 ⇒ 1
# of Rounds of Frozen: 1d4 ⇒ 1

The gray, staving looking dragon expels a 60-foot cone of acidic bile that seems to dissolve everything on contact.

The dragons have not considered anyone in particular to be a threat, they are currently attacking at random.

Breath Recharge: 1d4 ⇒ 2

I'll be trying to get a map online, but we will continue without it as I am okay with just conceptualizing the battle. Feel free to begin phase C and continue on through phase A.

Male Gnome Oracle 20

Goro raises his holy symbol and shouts at the gray dragon.
Destruction

DC 33 Fort or take 200 damage, successful save takes 10d6 ⇒ (5, 6, 4, 5, 1, 1, 5, 6, 2, 3) = 38

Goro's Spell Resistance Check: 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (9) + 20 = 29

L'os focused on casting haste on those nearby.

Haste, Taisia, L'os, Goro, Loralia and whoever else is within 30 feet and no more than 30 ft apart

Activate Protective Aura (Su): As a free action, a saint can surround herself with a nimbus of light having a radius of 20 feet. This acts as a double-strength magic circle against evil and as a lesser globe of invulnerability, both as cast by a cleric whose level equal to the saint’s Hit Dice.

As her magic takes root she starts to focus the divine font that infuses her very being. Summoning a divine aura of protection from Shelyn's very hand on this distant world. Her glow becomes a beacon for the fleeing people and the very air crackles with a unseen shield of force as she focuses on saving as many as she can.

Taisia releases her form, resuming her draconic shape and dropping Peacbringer near L'os's feet prior to roaring her challenge at the oncoming enemy dragons. She aims her head at the grey dragon, focusing on combining her attack in conjunction with Goro's.

150 ft line of Fire DC 27 fort to resist 8d4 ⇒ (4, 4, 2, 2, 2, 3, 4, 1) = 22

As she opens her maw the concentrated blast of fire rolls over the top of the fleeing citizens before slamming into the gray dragon and setting it aflame. She followed this with a booming roar. "COME TO ME COWARDS!"

Sorry, got held up and wasn't able to re-check in. @Goro, I missed where the DC is 33? I can see it as a 31, so I must be missing something. It will still be alive regardless of pass or failure, I'll determine damage once I know for sure. Also, @L'os, did you mean reflex for the breath weapon?

GM Rolls:

Fortitude Save vs. Destruction: 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (12) + 20 = 32
Fortitude Save vs Taisia's Fire Breath: 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (13) + 20 = 33If reflex, +1 more.

Goro feels the struggle as his magic barely overcomes the gray dragon's resistance. The destructive ray tears through the beast but the damage is not enough to overtake it.

Just as the destructive blast hits its mark, Taisia's line of fire grazes the side of the dragon as it tries to evade the flames.

Male Gnome Oracle 20

I believe you are right.

Yep derp moment there, reflex >.<; Her sleep breath is fort :) Sorry!

It is okay, they both hurt it, just not as much :/ I think for your spells Goro, you might have initially planned on having Spell Focus and concentrating your spells to one school type. That would have brought it to 33.

Realized I made a mistake.Everyone after Loralai on the initiative list was considered inactive. Loralai is indeed active. I apologize for the mistake. After Loralai acts, the turn will be over and we can go back to phase A with Rorge.

lvl 17+lycan

Lorelai watches the dragon attack. Seems to be what it sounds like after all. Pity. I was hoping to be surprised. I wonder if these dragons have anything to do with those we are here for. Lorelai focuses a moment and dissappears from sight greater invisibility then she shifts into hybrid form.

If Rorge didn't get further than 30 ft away from all of us ten he is hasted. :D But pretty much everyone else is hasted now, 18 rounds duration

Sonic thrust has quite a long range on it. So, it is safe to assume he is near you all. I'll continue with Phase B after Rorge posts his round 2 actions. "Inactive" members can still post at anytime to join combat if they are still following. This will take them off the inactive list.

Male Human Animal Lord (Wooly, Rhinoceros) Savage barbarian 18

Rorge runs into the town and prepares to attack the next dragon that comes within reach.
Rage + move + prepare vital strike/power attack.

The gray dragon-like creature becomes infuriated with the attacks and take a swooping charge at the the gargantuan brass dragon.

Gray Dragon Rolls:

Charge, Bite Attack against Taisia: 1d20 + 31 ⇒ (18) + 31 = 49
Damage: 3d8 + 13 ⇒ (5, 5, 2) + 13 = 25

The gray dragon's terrible bite breaks through the magical protections created by L'os almost striking a vital portion of Taisia's neck. Thick black saliva oozes from its bite. Taisia takes 15 points of damage after DR.

Taisia's Fortitude Save vs. Poison: 1d20 + 21 ⇒ (6) + 21 = 27
Acidic Poison HP Damage: 4d6 ⇒ (6, 3, 2, 4) = 15
Acidic Poison Ability Drain, Con: 1d6 ⇒ 5

Taisia feels the poison begin to course through her veins. At first her body resists, but even the magic bolstering her resistances fails as the ooze leaks into her blood stream. The acidic poison burns casuing terrible pain while draining her body of its physical resiliance. Taisia Takes 15 acid damage and 5 Constitution Drain. The con drain makes her lose another 3hp/hit die resulting in another 45 damage because pof her 15 HDs. She will also need to make a fortitude save every round for the next 10 rounds. 2 Consecutive saves wil cure her of the effect.

Perception DC:20, Taisia, Loralai, Goro, and L'os Only:
With the dragon up close, you see that some of the damage inflicted from your attacks is already beginning to heal over.[/dice]

The icy blue eel-dragon and the green dragon with black spikes both fly near the ground to get a mouthful of helpless victims. The eel-dragon is the only one that gets near enough to Rorge for him to attack.

Taking one last attempt to blast down what remains of the walls, the red and black, four-armed lava dragon expels another blast of its magma breath.

[spoiler=Magma Dragon Rolls]
Breath Recharge in Rounds: 1d4 ⇒ 3
Rounds of Black Smoke: 2d4 ⇒ (2, 3) = 5

This ends Phase B for round 2. Rorge has one readied strike available to use on the icy-dragon. You may begin Phase C now followed by A.

Damage Update for Players:

Taisia takes a total of 5 Con drain and 75 damage (15 bite, 15 acid, 45 con drain loss).

Male Human Animal Lord (Wooly, Rhinoceros) Savage barbarian 18

Forgot to mention raging brutality in my other post. Also in case it matters, Shrieker is adamantine.
Raging, vital, brutal, power attack: 1d20 + 41 ⇒ (17) + 41 = 58Damage: 6d8 + 61 ⇒ (1, 1, 2, 2, 3, 4) + 61 = 74
Intimidate from cornugon smash: 1d20 + 50 ⇒ (12) + 50 = 62

lvl 17+lycan

Lorelai gets into a good position and readies a Disintigrate. When the next dragon does a pass she will attack with the disintigrate, preferably putting it down the dragons throat.

Ranged touch, dmg, DC 22, pass takes only the first 5d6 dmg, fail takes all 13: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (11) + 16 = 275d6 ⇒ (5, 1, 2, 5, 1) = 148d6 ⇒ (4, 4, 4, 2, 2, 5, 6, 5) = 32

Shrieker rips through the icy-blue eel-dragon's scales; tearing deep into the flesh. Though Rorge cut a large chunk of flesh from the beast, the eel-dragon does not seem to be shaken by the blow.

Perception DC:20, Rorge Only:
The wound seems to start closing, though it is only a small portion of the wound the creature sustained.

lvl 17+lycan

Derp, I forgot the perception!

perception, darkvision, scent, and detect magic: 1d20 + 23 ⇒ (20) + 23 = 43

now if only that twenty came on my last post.
