Lorelai is the youngest daughter to the matron mother of a minor drow house, Doreza. The house of Doreza however, secretly were lycanthropes. This secret got out however and thus several houses moved against them. Lorelai is the last of the head family of the house and she was smuggled out as a child by a couple servents. They were supposed to meet up with the others of the house, but they got captured and killed. Lorelai and those with her came under atk but a group of warrior monks had discovered the incursion of drow and kept Lorelai. She was still a child and Master Yurage was curious whether the drow were born evil or if it was simply a matter culture. To answer this he figured he would raise Lorelai to be good not realizing just how old she was.

Lorelai on the other hand decided to play along to figure out how the surfacers gained such power so she could harness such power for herself. Eventually she realized that several concepts her people took as weaknesses, like friendship and honor, were indeed weaknesses but also had power of their own, that could outweigh such weakness if one was careful. So she stayed and thoroughly learned the teachings of the monks and she eventually mixed them with what she learned from the drow. She left to see more of the world and eventually decided to spread her social ideas which centered on a combination of the drow values of strength, ability, and cunning, with the monks values of honor, friendship, and community.
