He flips the large coin and catches it, then slaps the coin onto the top of his hand.

I think of Smiley kind of like Trip - he's a flavor animal used as a mount because he's that big, not an animal companion as such; I don't (or didn't) plan on him taking part in combat if that's alright.

Think of him as a very large housecat. If you want to include him in combat I can do both, although I might have to move some skill points around from my last level if that's OK.
