But a single heartbeat passes between Bringor's bolt entering the killer shrubery and Zebela's arrow following the same path. The creature shudders again, but this time it reacts. Suddenly, the plants and vines that cover the area begin to reach out and grab at the companions.

Entangled creatures can attempt to break free as a move action, making a Strength or Escape Artist check. The DC for this check is equal to the DC of the spell.

Zabela attempts to free herself from the vine's grasp as she fires another arrow.

With a final shudder, the creature droops to the floor. After a few moments, the vines and plants that are holding the companions begin to wither...releasing them.

{Fenn is not being fiscious.. but his country drawl, make his pronunciation often times lax.. hence why I do not always spell names correctly when he addressess people. But he's working on being more accurate in his speach AS it will be required for his next level...which is wizard!}
Fenn puts his bow away and drawing his shortsword helps cut those companions still wrapped in its tendrils free.
Then Fenn carefulyl walks over to the plant creature looking to see if any other victims might have been caught in its tendrils and killed leaving some possessions and perhaps clues as to what is going on here.
All the while he keeps in view of the opening in the wall with the light shining from within.. in case that is some potential threat as well.
"Hey Brin' would you mind watching tha' opening in tha' wall with tha' light coming out o' it? Bela'.. could you please back Brin' up?"

Nocking another arrow, Dervick covers the door Fenn indicated.
Fenn and Jeseare find the partially digested corpses of two more goblins as well as the bodies of several monkeys, small lizards, and an incredibly long snake. The goblins had very little on them beyond a pair of short swords and six gold between them.

Fenn walks over to the rift in the wall to see what is glowing so brightly...

Fenn draws his longsword and approaches the rift in the wall carefully trying to determine the source of the glow...
