SPECIAL ABILITIES:

Sneak Attack +1d6
If a rogue can catch an opponent when he is unable to defend himself effectively from her attack, she can strike a vital spot for extra damage.
The rogue's attack deals extra damage anytime her target would be denied a Dexterity bonus to AC (whether the target actually has a Dexterity bonus or not), or when the rogue flanks her target. This extra damage is 1d6 at 1st level, and increases by 1d6 every two rogue levels thereafter. Should the rogue score a critical hit with a sneak attack, this extra damage is not multiplied. Ranged attacks can count as sneak attacks only if the target is within 30 feet.
With a weapon that deals nonlethal damage (like a sap, whip, or an unarmed strike), a rogue can make a sneak attack that deals nonlethal damage instead of lethal damage. She cannot use a weapon that deals lethal damage to deal nonlethal damage in a sneak attack, not even with the usual –4 penalty.
The rogue must be able to see the target well enough to pick out a vital spot and must be able to reach such a spot. A rogue cannot sneak attack while striking a creature with concealment.
Trapfinding +1
A rogue adds 1/2 her level to Perception skill checks made to locate traps and to Disable Device skill checks (minimum +1). A rogue can use Disable Device to disarm magic traps.
Weapon Familiarity
Halflings are proficient in slings and treat all weapons with “halfling” in the name as martial weapons.

background:
Bringor grew up on the streets of New Wesel. His father, a member of the local thieves' guild, was killed in internecine gang warfare when Bringor was a child. His mother tried to keep him away from his father's compatriots, but he sought them out (no doubt, partially because his mother was so opposed to it). His father's partners in crime (literally) gave Bringor some small missions to test him. He passed those tests with flying colors, revealing some of the potential for arcane arts that had made his father so valuable to the guild--valuable enough to be a target. Everything seemed to be going well until the Moon Paws started trying to expand into New Wesel. Bringor was all too aware of the fate the last thief like him (i.e. his father) suffered in the previous gang war, so he decided that adopting the mantle of adventurer for a while might be both conducive to his health and a valuable way to hone his skills.

description:
Bringor stands about 3 ft. tall and weighs about 30 lbs. He has ash blond hair and penetrating blue eyes. He carries a rapier in a scabbard at his right hip and a crossbow slung over his shoulder. His background as a thief has made him much more reserved than your average halfling; he is slow to trust people. A person whom he has decided is trustworthy, however, can count on Bringor to do whatever is possible to protect him or her.
